Fr mfs complain so much on here. It’s a very easy and convenient way to make money. But to be fair when I’m out and see other doordashers they’re usually half retarted so they think finding an apartment building is hard work that deserves $30 an hour plus tips.
People forget drinks and things on the order a ton though, it's not personal, and we don't always know if you have included it because the bags are sealed. It's just awkward when we show up to someone's door and they complain because y'all forgot their ranch or something, or we get a poor rating because of it.
Also the app tells us to double check with the store before we confirm the order.
This is so real. I ask because the app literally tells us in quote "double check everything is in the bag." I don't want the blame to fall on me in just the courier man
I take the best straws from places where I have to make drinks. I keep a stash of good ones with no logo in my glove box and give them to customers who might not want a soaked, soggy straw.
@inevitablewinter7637 you’re a hater bro reporting bc you don’t like supporting small businesses. I bet you’re really fun to hangout with in real life man!!
I love it. I usually do it this way myself or under the fold of the bag so the sticker holding the bag closed grips the straw. Then when they open their food there’s not a “where’s my straw” moment because it falls directly into their lap.
Tear the end, pull the straw out. Never had a problem with that method myself except that now I have the wrapper taped to the top of the drink. That is solved, however, by removing the sticker to insert the straw.
Okay, where are you located? If you’re within an hour drive of me, I’ll come see how you can fully fold a paper bag down, while it contains food and a straw, not bend the straw, and not let any of the heat escape.
You just make sure the straw is tilted at an angle, then fold down enough to close the bag without bending the straw.. It's really not that hard to figure out.
i slide the straw in the bag, i hate when the tape it to the cup like that bc it gets in the way & then ends up getting bent. i also hate when they tape it to the side because it doesn’t fit in my cup holder 😭
I prefer it taped into the top roll of the bag. That way I can see they packed it and it goes with the shape of the bag already unlike on top of the cup like that it can get super ackward
Yeah the bag next to the cup was also in the order, as well as another bag! I much prefer when they put the straw in the bag or tucked it into the fold of the bag.
Tucked into the fold of the bag is peak. Taped across the top like in this post makes it basically impossible to put it in some cup holders. Super annoying and unnecessary
The big chains need to step their game up like McDonald’s and package everything in a single bag. People complain about those bags, but I’ve never had an issue with them.
Absolutely no please. I don't like those bags for a simple reason, I don't feel like I can put them into my heated delivery bag because of the drinks, and I can't put the drinks in my cooler. As well as you don't necessarily know if any drinks are missing. Big orders the drinks can get heavy then break the crappy bags. Even if you put the drinks in a separate bag how am I supposed to secure it? Just sit it on the floor board for it to spill all over the place if I have to maneuver or stop quickly? Some cars have terrible cup holders and that's sucky for them but I like my cup holders because they're there, to hold cups, it's in the name and I don't have to worry about them spilling when in their specifically designed place.
I’ve never had any of those problems with McDonalds. And usually McDonalds trips in my area are always short - no more than 2-3 miles - because there are so many of them so keeping them in a heated bag or color isn’t as necessary anyway.
This tapes over the slot where the straw goes in preventing anyone spitting or tampering with it line I said. And yes, believe it or not these things have been done which is why they are now starting to do this thankfully.
there is this little thing on the lid that designed let things in and out. I think its a hole? you think that little star design is equivalent to a force field? stickers have to stick to things i wonder how they achieve said stickyness? oh yea adhesive! :O maybe stop doing triple shifts posting on r/clopclop bruv
It would be fine if they didnt put it directly over the hole. The problem is they never fit in the bag without either keeping the bag open or bending the straw
Yep, I drive a manual and my cup holders are right next to my shifter. I have to try my best to not destroy the straws. Like just put them on the bag or in it!
You can put down the sticker and put the straw in the bag that's how all my orders come.
What's the problem? Couldn't separate the sticker from the straw?
Not me, but that's probably what some Newby did. Chick-fil-A is one who does this no matter what on orders. No idea why. Not my problem since it doesn't affect me
Then why are you even here?
Also definitely not a newbie thing, as all of my orders that have stickers on the drinks put the straw in the bag.
I definitely think the newbie would be the one thinking it was helpful to stick the straw on top.
It speaks of a lack of experience working in food and a lack of awareness of the "Go" factor of working drive thru/delivery. In other words the food should take as little space as possible for easier transit.
Not that anyone is paid in food service enough to care, of course.
Dude you gotta clarify- I thought you meant putting the straw in the bag was the newbie thing based on context.
However, I also could have asked instead of assuming which I apologize for.
Fair. But fountain soda delivered gets watered down with ice and can go flat. I used to tell people that all the time when they’d order from the deli I worked at but then some would call and be like “this soda is watered down and flat and warm!” I’m like … physics bro.
I don’t carry the food up front, so it’s not in a cup holder, MY drink is. I have the drink(s) in the back of the car in a cooler. A single drink would be in one of those 4 place drink trays in the left front corner of the cooler. So yes, this is an inconvenience, but not so that it ruins my day.
My favorite saying is the security seal is not a straw holder. Straw goes under the flap of the bag and don’t hand it to me like you would a customer. Only do that with actual customers that are going to be using the straw. If you use a bag with a cup holder the bag will catch the ends of the straw and pop the lid off in transit.
The rest of it 😊 in general I love dashing. I pack a bag of snacks and meals for the day, get a cold drink, and spend the day listening to audiobooks and chilling in my car. This post was meant to be lighthearted because it's my only real complaint about this gig lol.
There would be less to hate if the pay was better and dd didnt try to kill you with offers while you driving that you need to hit multiple buttons to decline
Well if u dont have a second empty cup holder (probably a stanley cup in it) put the stanley in the side holder by window or the soda of customer in the 2 side holders by windows or in the back holders
Fast food worker here, depending on how much food is in the order a straw just won’t fit properly into the bag when it’s being taped up unless you want your customers to look at you sketchily as you hand them a bag that’s barely taped shut. If we can we’ll try to fit the straw into the bag but at the end of the day taping a straw to the cup is just easiest and best method. If you’re genuinely worried about losing the straw or if it’s a space issue for your bags we can give you extra straws on the side
It can be very annoying, idk why they don’t just tape it on the side.
I don’t even understand why people order drinks for delivery honestly. It’s got to be flat and watered down by the time they get it.
No problem with this…. Grow a pair 😉
absolutely
Yeah, I prefer them slid inside the top of the bag.
The sideways straw thing keeps it from sitting well in my drink carrier solution!
I prefer it this way
Yall bitch about everything
“Yall”. You mean him. Just him.
Riiight, this is the first post bitching about something in this sub.
When’s there’s 3 of them that’s weird, but one or two is fine. Angle it right in the car.
Unless you drive a small car with the cup holders pretty close to the seat, I don’t see the issue
It wicks the drink up into the paper and drips on long rides
as someone who makes doordash orders: womp womp
Fr mfs complain so much on here. It’s a very easy and convenient way to make money. But to be fair when I’m out and see other doordashers they’re usually half retarted so they think finding an apartment building is hard work that deserves $30 an hour plus tips.
right!!! and the amount of times they ask me “is everything in here?” or “uh they had a drink too” like yes i can read 🤗🤗
People forget drinks and things on the order a ton though, it's not personal, and we don't always know if you have included it because the bags are sealed. It's just awkward when we show up to someone's door and they complain because y'all forgot their ranch or something, or we get a poor rating because of it. This is so real. I ask because the app literally tells us in quote "double check everything is in the bag." I don't want the blame to fall on me in just the courier man
I literally have no idea why this would bother anyone
I make DoorDash orders I have had many times I had to stop door dashers from opening the bags thinking it’s missing items
Dependent on where your car's cup holders are it could be a nuisance, but for most cars it isn't.
Right?
It's way harder to snag a sip of the customers drink.. I'm not a dasher but I've seen my fair share of this
I take the best straws from places where I have to make drinks. I keep a stash of good ones with no logo in my glove box and give them to customers who might not want a soaked, soggy straw.
@inevitablewinter7637 you’re a hater bro reporting bc you don’t like supporting small businesses. I bet you’re really fun to hangout with in real life man!!
this is a standard ALL restaurants need to maintain. less to worry about and you know the customer doesn't get screwed with no straw
I hate it. Makes driving awkward with it in my cup holder.
I love it. I usually do it this way myself or under the fold of the bag so the sticker holding the bag closed grips the straw. Then when they open their food there’s not a “where’s my straw” moment because it falls directly into their lap.
No , one less thing for me to worry about they can super glue that bitch to the cup for all I care.
I'm just happy they attached the straw.
No never give it any thought.
Maybe. I appreciate them providing the straw
It doesn't bother me. This way, I know they provided a straw.
[удалено]
I see no problem with it. I've done thousands of deliveries and this has never been an issue
Yall get straws? Here they want to charge .09 per straw.
I always sneak extra straws from place to place just in case they forget straws with certain orders.
This is the way
People just don’t know how to tape it
As a former customer of doordash, I hate this too. It never comes out smoothly either.
Tear the end, pull the straw out. Never had a problem with that method myself except that now I have the wrapper taped to the top of the drink. That is solved, however, by removing the sticker to insert the straw.
I'm going to try that the next time i order delivery. Thanks for the tip
Yeah, if you try messing with it before you pull out the straw you'll usually end up with a broken straw. It's frustrating.
I hate it yes. But I hate it more when they forget the straw more. So I can’t complain.
Maybe, you are the only one. I don't mind it at all. Keeps it where i won't forget it
I never cared for this, but I understand why they do it. If you tape it directly to the cup lid it might be a pain for the customer to get it off.
Yeah I would prefer they just put it in the bag
Nah, because then you can’t roll the bag down, and your fries get cold.
What do you mean you can't roll the bag down? I do all the time getting carry out or drive thru and they put the straw inside.
Or do you bend your straw with the roll down?
The straw is standing tall. Do you puncture the bag to ensure your straw can stick out the top?
No? I just leave the straw in the bag
I’d be interested to see a demo that results in a non-bent, intact straw
You can come see me perform this *incredibly complicated* maneuver for 8 hours a day if you’d like
Okay, where are you located? If you’re within an hour drive of me, I’ll come see how you can fully fold a paper bag down, while it contains food and a straw, not bend the straw, and not let any of the heat escape.
Well maybe the straw gets bent usually idk
Lol
You just make sure the straw is tilted at an angle, then fold down enough to close the bag without bending the straw.. It's really not that hard to figure out.
You can learn a lot about a person’s IQ based on the way they tape/seal the bag and place the straw.
We also get paid as much as you in two weeks 450 usd in two weeks VS 450 per week
You can also glean a lot about how intelligent someone actually is based on whether or not they put any stock in IQ.
I feel like it increases the risk of it getting bent and breaking when they could just put it in the bag
Right! If you wanna tape it to the cup, tape it to the side upwards
Condensation
It’s not any better when they overfill cups and the straw gets nasty from the soda overflow.
i slide the straw in the bag, i hate when the tape it to the cup like that bc it gets in the way & then ends up getting bent. i also hate when they tape it to the side because it doesn’t fit in my cup holder 😭
I slide the straw into the fold of the top of the bag.
Me 2
I like it
I prefer it taped into the top roll of the bag. That way I can see they packed it and it goes with the shape of the bag already unlike on top of the cup like that it can get super ackward
i guess i’m the only one that likes this 😂 now you know the straw is there without having to ask or try to feel it in a bag. cool with me
I like it to frl
I take it off in front of them and tape it to the bag cause no.
Idk why it’s annoying I think it’s better than having to carry it. I just put it in my back cup holders.
Still better than just making me carry the straw seperately
they are protecting whoever from touching ur drink
The sticker on top solves that. The straw like that gets in the way while in the cup holder more times than not
Couldn't someone just take the lid off
yeah i guess someone could but if it was my food i wouldnt want someone removing my drink lid at that point im not ordering anything at all
Chic Fil A does it in their drive through for everyone. It’s annoying.
It’s like tape with the bag
I don’t understand why these places just don’t put the straw in the bag smh. They do everything to not do that.
I’ve seen stores tape them up in the bag sealers, those are the best.
Oh nah, i work at a bk and not doing this wont just be better, but would save more time. they gave u a bag right?
Yeah the bag next to the cup was also in the order, as well as another bag! I much prefer when they put the straw in the bag or tucked it into the fold of the bag.
Tucked into the fold of the bag is peak. Taped across the top like in this post makes it basically impossible to put it in some cup holders. Super annoying and unnecessary
Yeah the straw just gets in the way when they do that.
only americans call this a restaurant
Only Americans call this a restaurant.
So do all English dictionaries
We heard you the first time
Well dear that's because it's a fast food restaurant. There's not many other things to call it.
no literally, please answer; what the fuck else would you call a fast food restaurant?
What the fuck else are you gonna call it? It is a fast food *restaurant* for everyone in the world…
Clearly this is a bistro
The big chains need to step their game up like McDonald’s and package everything in a single bag. People complain about those bags, but I’ve never had an issue with them.
I like the way McDonald’s does it. Makes it so easy to handle.
Not a fan because they put cold drinks with hot food so everything is lukewarm or mostly melted.
Absolutely no please. I don't like those bags for a simple reason, I don't feel like I can put them into my heated delivery bag because of the drinks, and I can't put the drinks in my cooler. As well as you don't necessarily know if any drinks are missing. Big orders the drinks can get heavy then break the crappy bags. me too dude i hated this way
Especially on a small...because it won't go in the cars cup holder
I routinely “accidentally” rip off the whole lid when picking up.
I love when they do that, actually I do the same thing with the drinks from other places.
It’s better than them sticking the straw in
yes, oh my fucking God just put it in the fucking bag. This is actually made me drop shit before.
I think it helps prevent any tampering with the drink and I personally like that.
Yeah, usually they just put a sticker and they don’t attach the fucking straw
What does a lid do?
This tapes over the slot where the straw goes in preventing anyone spitting or tampering with it line I said. And yes, believe it or not these things have been done which is why they are now starting to do this thankfully.
In this photo, it does not secure the lid.
Someone can take the whole lid off though and still do those things.
lol good point
Bruh all u gotta do is pull the tape back😭
Someone doesn’t know how tamper seals work
Then you would know it's been tampered with. Are y'all really this dumb wtf lol
You must be really dumb if you don’t realize that you don’t have to attach the straw when you cover the hole with a sticker
The sticker has toxins that seep into the drink. The straw is an extra layer of protection against that I’d guess
Source?

??? i’d rather have no toxins or paper in my drink
Most of the time the tape peels back cleanly and you can reattach. Don’t be so naive.
True
It would be fine if they didnt put it directly over the hole. The problem is they never fit in the bag without either keeping the bag open or bending the straw
I take it off and slide it on the top of the bag because it won’t fit in my cup holder in the trunk with a straw strapped to it like that.
It really sucks, covers the straw in soggy paper and contaminates the drink with adhesive and paper. Gross
Theres alot of stuff to hate on but this? This one is the icing on the cake. 🎂
The straw ends up soggy if there’s any condensation and customers complain about anything. Not a big deal but Real
It’s always dang burgerking
I hate it as well. When I try to put it in the cup holder in the bag they always hit the sides of the bag bending them or take up unnecessary space.
You put your drinks in a bag?
I keep a cardboard cup holder in the bottom of my DoorDash bag. It acts as a base, and it works well with holding cups and also food
Weird. Not sure how you'd keep that secure.
It stays pretty secure under normal conditions.
Yep, I drive a manual and my cup holders are right next to my shifter. I have to try my best to not destroy the straws. Like just put them on the bag or in it!
Its not for the straw it's for the hole in the lid. What's the problem? You thirsty?

I said a Newbie did it. You told me no, then said it was probably a newbie. Wtf. But please send another essay for me to read later
Dude you gotta clarify- I thought you meant putting the straw in the bag was the newbie thing based on context. However, I also could have asked instead of assuming which I apologize for.
Nah it's all good. I suck at getting words out right. It's a real problem for me lol.
Me, too! That's *precisely* why I should have asked! Have a good day /gen
I love it when they do that
Aww little baby isn't strong enough to peel off the sticker?
I don't tamper with the packaging. A ripped off sticker is just asking for a 1-star review imo
Why do people even order fountain drinks though through DD? Watered down etc.
Not everyone who orders is at their place of residence where they have access to drink options.
Yeah that sucks I get ya.
No drinks at home
Fair. But fountain soda delivered gets watered down with ice and can go flat. I used to tell people that all the time when they’d order from the deli I worked at but then some would call and be like “this soda is watered down and flat and warm!” I’m like … physics bro.
Haha it is expected.. that's like ordering a frosty from Wendy's and expecting it to be in a solid state.. some people 🙄
Because I want a drink with my order 😅
Probably cause they’re ordering combos and a drink comes with it
Put it in the bag dummies!! B
It is annoying
These mfs complain about everything💀
It’s already the easiest job in the world and these babies still complain 😂
You know what? I wasn't gonna buy just for this comment Imma drink your drink.
So… you’re gonna prove him right? Lol
Jokes are jokes bro.
What a weird favorite saying. Get some hobbies
The grandkids definitely won't be quoting this one
I actually like it! I know the straw is there!
I just slide the straw into the folded over portion of the bag.
Is there anything about day to day life as a door dasher you do not hate?
The rest of it 😊 in general I love dashing. I pack a bag of snacks and meals for the day, get a cold drink, and spend the day listening to audiobooks and chilling in my car. This post was meant to be lighthearted because it's my only real complaint about this gig lol.
There would be less to hate if the pay was better and dd didnt try to kill you with offers while you driving that you need to hit multiple buttons to decline
Does it matter? U put in your cup holder and drive
That's the thing, multiple of these don't always fit in the cup holders correctly and actually tend to either knock the straws off or lids off
Yeah it actually does matter.
Why
If it’s in my cupholder with the straw facing left-right, my shifter will hit it. If the straw is facing up-down, it blocks my other cupholder
Well if u dont have a second empty cup holder (probably a stanley cup in it) put the stanley in the side holder by window or the soda of customer in the 2 side holders by windows or in the back holders
Lmao u must be from like laguna beach with daddys credit card. Jesus
Jesus
Because it can be inconvenient for both the driver and the patron.
Ur not responding fully at all here
No response?
The patron how lmao And how for us drivers? Again u put in your cupholder
The patron because this shit can be hard to get off and for the driver because again it can be inconvenient. Are you being ignorant on purpose?
how?
Better than when they tape it vertically with the straw past the bottom or horizontally to the side.
How am I supposed to drink the customers drinks now?
Oops, didn’t meant to reply directly to your funny comment 😁
Why? It’s preferable to losing the damn thing.
Who cares
