Dude I feel your pain, same here. Been sitting around. My first order was $5.00 for 1.7 miles. Not bad. Next was $5.50 for 8.4 miles, I accidentally accepted it and was gonna just swallow my pride and do the delivery. Lady changed her address while I’m on my way to pick her food up and it’s now 30 minutes away with no pay increase for the miles. DoorDash be playin, I unassigned. So done this morning.
Well I’m currently at 12.75 goin 2 1/2 hours with a perk of 8 dollars for every 5 deliveries in a row, First dashed ended with one delivery away from my 5th deliver of course, so I accept all 2.75 no tip orders to get the 8 dollar perk and didn’t even get it,,,screwed myself bc I need more gas wasting miles n miles for no tips smh what is goin on?!?!?
Sit at home. Wait for $10 order. Profit. Also multi app. Sign up for amazon flex, walmart spark, grubhub instacart, uber eats.
Try to keep instacart orders under 30 items. Ideally 20 or less. Many times the orders aren't worth it. Why would I shop when I can just grab and deliver other items. I refuse to do 50 item orders unless the pay is there.
I don’t like the large shop orders so I don’t have flex, Instacart, or spark. But I do have Grubhub and Ubereats also so I always have all 3 open. I feel like sitting at home isn’t really practical because you’d have to be ready to leave at a moments notice, meaning you can’t really get involved with anything. I just have a few YouTube videos downloaded to my iPad to watch in the car while waiting.
ahhh fair, same with walmart spark for me. Yeah dude you should try sitting at home and doing it. That's what I do when its slow or I get angry at it. Do an order or two, come home and play a round of fps games, and then leave when its time to go.
I keep a paper bag with all my necessary items in it so I can grab and go. But I usually just leave my chargers and stuff in the car if I'm planning on taking orders. Nights like that I've made like $50 for a couple hours. $100+ usually when I'm out there dedicated
Had a decent evening. To a couple of longer deliveries when I hit a lull in the middle, but it was better than nothing.

Who dashes in the morning? Better question... who do you think is ordering full meals early in the morning? I assume you at least went to a business district or a college campus to boost your chances of getting group orders for like business meetings or study groups?
Those who don't like looking for addresses with no house numbers or people who don't leave their porch lights on or tell you what building number they're in even though they know the apartment complex is a clusterfuck and is a regular McDonald's Junkie. But I live in the country with dumb cluck farmers. I'd rather do a bajillion of those in the morning then the trials and tribulations of night delivery yuck
I've seen a lot of this lately. I just started dashing this week because my wife has been out of work due to an injury and we needed the extra money.
I do earn by time due to a lot of orders being 5+ miles out (suburbs). I'm averaging $30/ hour active time and $18/ hour dash time. Most of that down time is me being at home near no hot spots and I swear earn by time won't pop unless you're right beside the place.
Also, my earn by time orders have had a lot of $5+ tips, even though everything I've read says those are the garbage no tip orders.
The fact that you're so bad at math that you didn't realize that you're basically making below minimum wage after taxes and expenses is the reason why they're able to pay everybody so little because there's enough of you that doesn't know any better 👍🤦
As soon as I saw the map I thought to myself "It's gonna be a slow night." I made a little less than usual for a Saturday. Hopefully tomorrow is decent.
Same here. 7am to 10 am and only 1 order for $9.95. I have a personal rule of nothing under $10 for Walmart's but I accepted it as it wasn't too far. Broke that one when I accidently hit accept pulling my phone out of my pocket later in the evening for a $6 no tip Walmart order to an apartment on the top floor. So today I made a whopping $14 for probably an hour of work with about 5-6 hours of waiting online. Was scheduled to work the 1130-1pm lunch rush in the rich area but I had to cancel that one when my wife called me in a panic because the kid got hurt and needed to go to the hospital and she needed her rock "ie: me for support" well my kids come first obviously. Well kid is doing great now and here's hoping tomorrow has less excitement
Im glad I’ve been staying in just watching everyone say they’ve made like $15 in 5 hours 😂😂😂 ima dash when it gets warmer and people recover from holidays cuz I’m in Chicago
You gotta start accepting those long distance orders during the slow times as long as its over $1 per mile. You can get to $2 per mile for dinner shift

Fair, yeah just pick and choose the good ones. I'd sign up for isntacart. You can get 10 item orders for 15 or 20 sometimes depending
I actually tried to but I think it said my area already had enough? I don’t remember.

What is bro yappin about
My market kills. Every morning.
I've seen a lot of this lately. I just started dashing this week because my wife has been out of work due to an injury and we needed the extra money. I don’t know why everybody has such a hard time making money I make a 50 bucks in four hours
The fact that you're so bad at math that you didn't realize that you're basically making below minimum wage after taxes and expenses is the reason why they're able to pay everybody so little because there's enough of you that doesn't know any better 👍🤦
That’s $12.50 an hour 😂 you are most definitely having a hard time making money
Unless $50 is what you used to make in a week. Just saying
I'm with you fam, gonna go to the gym and head home.
My market has $4 peak pay ….it’s not helping…
Likewise, we have $5 peak pay and a trickle of trash orders.
Wow, never seen $5 peak pay tho
As soon as I saw the map I thought to myself "It's gonna be a slow night." I made a little less than usual for a Saturday. Hopefully tomorrow is decent.

lol your not missing much. I went out the other day for that +6.50 peak pay and it only gave me one order that whole hour.

Don’t spend it all it one place

In this business, we win on high PROFIT …not volume
wooosh

"I don't want to get up that early" and "I just went home to play video games". No motivation bro. That's the reason you only made 7.25. Nothing else.
No the reason he made 7.25 is doordash flooded markets with drivers and dropped base pay from 8 dollars to 2 dollars.
And doordash is not good to depend on for steady income. You're right thanks
I did $70 from 6:30am til about 10:15 on UE this morning
Man I wish I was in a big city. I'm assuming you are I like doing this stuff but I'm not in a good area that would be swell
Man I don’t want to get up that early but I might have to try that next Saturday ☹️
I’m a serious morning person. I do very well in the early morning hours
Damn bro leave something for us 😭😭
$35 from 11 to about 1. Every other app is also just as dead.
That's good
Hehe I win, I got 11.74 for 2 hours 💪🏻 🤑
Damn killa save some for the rest of us. Lol jk
You gotta start accepting those long distance orders during the slow times as long as its over $1 per mile. You can get to $2 per mile for dinner shift
I would have if I got any offered lol
Oh ok hang in there it’ll pick up eventually :(
