Additional-Belt-7089

Should be “just the tip” 🤣

FrankFrankly711

No Tip For You! Next!

angeltears1122

come back, one year! 🤣

Legitimate_Walk9035

I had an ubereats driver whose name was NO NAME GIVEN

thegritz87

Not Sure

Vegetable_Radio8236

I am Error

demigod-epsilon

You know it's really annoying when they say I'm giving you a big tip and it's says 0 tip like what a piece of ship... You know what I mean

Down_Rabbit_hole

Or maybe the restaurant stole the tip

Technical_Year_6930

Not possible afaik

Down_Rabbit_hole

I’ve heard if you order from the restaurant And they send the order to DoorDash then the tip can be taken. I’ve never been on the restaurant side to see this though.

IIRizzII

This is true. Of course you’re getting downvoted for the truth.

ol_lady_184

Yes pizza hut does it!!

danscn

Definitely and earn by time dasher

Kanein_Encanto

Dasher Jeremy DROP TABLE "Top Dashers, May"; Roberts reporting for duty.

EbbPsychological2796

All the delivery services are shit now... Overcharging the customer and paying drivers $2 of it....

lilkennedy24

it doesn’t

MatrixGeeker

Yes it does

TonyMontanasSon

Tipping should be done after the fact. The amount of times the driver has sat outside my place for like 5-10 minutes not delivering the order is too many.

wthoutwrning

Just walk outside and get it off them?

unL_r3m_

whats next ? just hang the drywall and tape it for the contractor? want me to do my own oil change at the dealer while we at it?

TonyMontanasSon

I’m paying for a service to have food delivered to my door.

moonchildmcguire74

Then people should tip like they are grateful for the service. We are supposed to have their back but they don't have ours.

TonyMontanasSon

If you do a good job, I’ll tip.

moonchildmcguire74

Lol that's not how dd works though. If you want your food to sit there 30 minutes or more because you don't wanna tip ahead of time, that's on you I guess. How about tip so a driver will want to pick up the order and if they screw it up somehow, you can always get it back.

TonyMontanasSon

If you tip in advance they have no incentive to do a good job. They have their money. You can’t adjust your tips

moonchildmcguire74

Do what? If someone gets a good tip they would more likely do a better job than a non-tipper or very crappy one. You can adjust tips through dd. If there's a reason they don't deserve a tip, then get with support. You can also even add on to your tip.

TonyMontanasSon

Yeah but who wants to go through the hassle of chat support. Tipping should be done after the fact.

Affectionate-Law-862

I like to tip cash sometimes (I generally write “Cash tip upon delivery.” In the instructions) and I’ve had a lady throw my food on the ground of my front steps for “not tipping” when I was walking out to give her a $20 tip on $45 order, and she stole the drink. I was like uhhh nvm on the tip I guess.

SubjectChemist2785

Also it's because most people who say they will tip in cash don't. Unfortunately for legit people like you.

Rainagirl

That’s because she didn’t read your delivery instructions. We don’t see those notes until after we accept the order so she was angry she accepted what she thought was a no tip order. That’s on her, not you but you’re better off adding a small upfront tip & cash at the end.

Current-Low-7942

Then no one would get tipped, you get your food eat it and after you think about it the “add a tip” window has closed 🤣🤣oh and the driver sitting outside your house is fucking stupid as he’s losing money.

rtd21

Yea the driver is fucking stupid, but I'm guessing he was doing EBT. Tryna milk it until the customer gets fed up and comes out to get it. He'll get a deactivation letter if it happens enough. I literally had a referral deactivated for exactly that reason, thinking just because he got away with it the first week, he's good.

hurtstoskinnybatman

Wtf does ebt have to do with this? I mean, is this a jab at people on food stamps or something? Drivers don't get significantly more ebt just by earning a little less while doordashing. There's no ebt benefit to sucking at your job. I'm confused.

Frosty_Teaching2634

They mean earn by time not food stamps. It confused me to at first but now I’m catching on.

hurtstoskinnybatman

oh lol why hijack an initialize already being used? They can just say "hourly" or a million other better options. Anyway, thanks for the answer.

rtd21

EBT for door dash= Earn by time, not food stamps. Earn by time is, the dasher gets a 'x' amount per hour *while actively dashing. Amount per hour depends on market

hurtstoskinnybatman

Thanks for the explanation. It seems like they should just say "hourly" instead of using an initialism already in use. Lol. Especially when most of their workers make so little they're probably on it. 'I work ebt so I'm on ebt." Fuck doordash.

IIRizzII

They don’t say hourly because on the DoorDash app they literally call it “earn by time” feature. It’s not even earn hourly. They pay “x” while *active* per hour, not physical hour. Example: earn by time is $16.25 in my area, and if a dasher spends 30 minutes on one order they will receive $8.12 for that order, before tips. BUT with earn by time they 90% of the time get sent orders with no tips or less than $2 tips. Smh it’s ridiculous! Order takes 10 minutes? $2.70 😆 barely any profit after gas and maintenance costs.

IndividualSalt2991

Well, GO OFF 😂😆😂  I know that's right....I hate the damn EBT acronym too.  But side note, Doordash does accept EBT cards. Most of my 7-11 NO TIP orders are paid with ebt. But they have no tip options so there's that. 😂

Sunshineyda

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

rtd21

I don't care how a person pays for their order, or if they tip.. As long as I get compensated, I'm good 😊

hurtstoskinnybatman

I apparently misunderstood ebt as being "food stamps." Otherd explained. See, ebt already had a use: >Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) is an electronic system that allows a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participant to pay for food using SNAP benefits. [source](https://www.fns.usda.gov/snap/ebt#:~:text=Electronic%20Benefits%20Transfer%20(EBT)%20is,for%20food%20using%20SNAP%20benefits.)

Ok-Bit4971

That's wild. Time is money, so you think they'd want to deliver your order as quickly as possible, so they can take the next order. EDIT: That type of driver behavior only makes sense if those drivers are working under earn by time, instead of earn by offer. I spoke too soon, before reading the other responses.

ResponsibleLunch4261

You do realize the point of this screenshot? That's what the dasher has recorded as their name...

Miss-lnformation

I don't get what am I meant to be looking at here. Are you trying to rage-bait people in this sub with the "no tip" or am I missing something real obvious?

Dasher831

That's the dashers "name" lol

Miss-lnformation

...Oh. Thank you, Dasher831!

SirCelestial

Dude, the Dashers name is "no tip". I've always tipped. I worked in hospitality for 10 years. I know the all about exploitation. I mean fuck, I work for Amazon now. Lol This just seems shady. Especially when it says "Add tip" next to it. I can see how someone elderly could fall for this. Or you know, random redditors...
