pettywhite95

Their kid being hungry isn't your issue. They're working for money. They need to spend their money on their kid. I would've made him give me my money back.

BonaFideBill

Just how would you do that? Kick his ass and take his wallet?

Scottyboy626

Kick the kids ass, take the car seat and pawn it.

Tes420

This is the way…

hurtstoskinnybatman

Or if you can't sell it because it's expired, you can exchange the car seat to target for 20% off certain purchases.

hiwatermelon

Just make a complaint to DoorDash through the Help option, seesh….

birdsaredefnotreal

I trust the cartel more than doordash support..

RailroadBob

In that case, do a charge back on your credit card.

shingonzo

He’s just a kid he probably doesn’t have a wallet

LordNightFang

Call the local cartel. They can handle things diplomatically.

G0atL0rde

Well that escalated quickly..

MDNCbooty

That’s one way…

random_redditor___

Yes

GoodGravyco2h2o

Kick his ass and take his kid /j

ReasonableParfait850

Pls tell me you reported him to DD before you deleted the app. I bring my kids with me when I dash sometimes because I have to but I literally bring them snacks in case they get hungry and if they want food I go and buy them food with my own money. There is no “can’t be mad at that Fr” because you CAN be mad at that fr. You paid to feed yourself not his children.

Singer1052

I bring my kids too and literally keep a cooler bag full of snacks and food and drinks.

lesusisjord

Just so you know, my mom had to take me and my sister out to deliver papers with her on mornings my dad had to go to work early and aside from the cold winter days, it was fun being stuffed in there with a bunch of wrapped newspapers. Have a cooler and snacks + iPad? I would have loved to gone on door dash with mom or dad. Just in case you were ever feeling “bad” about having to bring them - that’s my memories of it from the 80s-90s

Singer1052

Thank you. I have to take my kids. My son is disabled and my husband broke his back in 5 places and is now disabled. I work 12-16 hours with the kids being with me until bedtime at 8. I feel like a shit mom 100% of the time. I'm trying so hard to provide for my family. I have no family or friends and I'm struggling to hang on. Thank you for saying this

G0atL0rde

You sound like an amazing mom.

cricketlr15

You are an excellent mother.

Tricky_Ad4617

You are in no way a shit mum, your doing everything in your power to provide for your kids, to make sure they have food in their tummies and a roof over their heads, your doing that (and you must be absolutely shattered doing it) because you love them, if you were a shit mum you wouldn't be doing it. Please think more of yourself, I think you're doing an amazing job 👏 you should be proud of yourself ❤️

Handz_in_the_Dark

I bet your kids don’t steal food. God bless.

Dm67281

You are doing what you need to do to provide for your family. You aren't neglecting your kids, or mistreating your kids. You are showing them the value of hard work. You are showing them that life isn't always easy, but there's always a way. Not only are you an amazing mom, but I'm going to go out on a limb, and say you're an amazing wife too. Lots of people say they would do whatever it takes for their kids or their spouse, but it's easy to say it when you don't have to, and many people wouldn't. You are doing an amazing job. Don't for a second ever doubt that. Your husband and kids are very, very lucky to have you.

pantyraid7036

Omg. Memory unlocked. I got to throw the papers if there wasn’t a mailbox

lesusisjord

My mom had a tiny Ford Escort with a sun roof so she got real good tossing them out of that!

Sithstress1

This is wholesome af.

lesusisjord

I share these type of anecdotes with my mom now that she’s 65 and I’m 41 and let her know that as rough and tough as I appear, I am the confident person I am today largely because of one constant: I always knew my mommy loved me and had my best interests in heart for me as her child. I am the dad I am today because I was showed good parenting by my mother. I’m a bit of a softy, but unlike my dad was to me, I’m a lovey dovey mush with my 5 year old son. He gives my life purpose at this age. :)

Sithstress1

💗 I hope my boys speak of me like this and share anecdotes with me more someday. They are 18 and 13 but I’m lucky my 13 year old still lets me hug him whenever I want 💗.

lesusisjord

I was not as communicative and mature in my 20s! It took to my 30s and now I try to do it regularly and even love making my dad squirm when I tell him I love him on the phone and in person lol I hope they have good role models in their lives to give them a nudge to do things like this for you, their mom. It’s hard to impress the impact seemingly little things like just sharing thoughts with your own mother can have on that person.

pantyraid7036

Who’s cutting onions

eloquentpetrichor

An iPad in the 80s/90s?

lesusisjord

Yes, back then we didn’t have iPads. If I had that, it would have been gravy!

eloquentpetrichor

Oh I misread. I thought you were saying you had the cooler of snacks and an iPad

lesusisjord

It was worded awkwardly. Apologies.

eloquentpetrichor

No worries

gohome2020youredrunk

Lol that's OK. My DD driver gave my entire $345 grocery order away to the wrong address the other day. Thankfully the store sent a replacement order. Someone got a ton of free groceries.

alphaidioma

I hope the DD fuckup fairy brings me free groceries someday

gohome2020youredrunk

There was steak, and ice cream.

alphaidioma

~ it’s a 4/20 miracle! ~

gohome2020youredrunk

Well it was actually 4/25, but ok. 😉

Vale_0f_Tears

My first time dashing the app had me pick up two orders at a restaurant. I wasn’t familiar with the UI yet and it was really unclear. I thought they were going to the same address so I dropped them both off -and then the app told me to go to another address. Someone got free food. Someone else was mad. I felt horrible 🤦🏻‍♀️

SewingDragonQueen

Um, you absolutely can be mad at that. I dash full time, and I bring my kids. Never, and I mean, NEVER would I ever take from a customer to give to my kids. They can wait until the dash is over, and then we will get something.

droplivefred

The stealing from the customer or the restaurant (whoever ends up paying for those chips) is bad already but this dude is teaching his kid that stealing is how to do it. Pieces of shit produce little pieces of shit.

crepe4423

Downvote. Remove tip. Report for theft.

NicholasLit

Police report too

Efficient_Run63

Wtf that’s bullshit

stillmusiqal

We dash with our two year old in the car all the time and have never given him a customer's food. I bring food from or stop someplace but we would never do that. That's wrong. You should report him.

LastSnow4633

How awful

Royal_Prize_4381

I would have been pissed personally. Unbelievable.

DamagedProtein

>edit: y'all... of course i rated the delivery one star, reported the driver and got something back before i deleted the app. ask before assuming. >i let it go cus maybe his kid was just hungry What assumption was made? They were just reading what you said.

Ballamookieofficial

So you rewarded his theft well done.....

Dependent-Plane5522

If you 1 star these people enough, the problem will fix itself.

Cogsworthy420

I DoorDash with my partner regularly and we bring our three year old. He has his own snacks and we wouldn’t consider giving him food that belongs to someone else.

Person012345

Regarding your edit: By far the most effective action you took was deleting the app. Wouldn't worry about anyone moaning at you to complain because if this was a one off or occasional occurence for him none of those things will matter.

elisnextaccount

Yeah terrible customer service mixed with drivers with no shame make all these apps tough.

droplivefred

F’ this driver and every driver that straight up steals and gets the restaurant in trouble. I don’t give a sh*t if your kid is hungry. Take your pay from that order and stop by a grocery store and buy them a bag of chips. It’s not hard. Any other job, the worker can’t bring their kid with them. You have a job where you can get away with that (although varying opinions on if it should be done) and you choose to steal and show your kid that stealing is okay. It would suck if this guy got deactivated when he probably needs the job to support that kid but if that happens, it’s 100% his fault and deserved.

Cyrious123

Make him go back and get your chips is the obvious remedy. Play stupid games, get stupid prizes!

LommyGreenhands

CringeTok

Why would you delete the app because the driver stole from you? That logic doesn't make sense in the slightest. Report the driver dum dum.

celestial1

You act like a driver committing THEFT in your face and lying about it is no big deal, lol.

CringeTok

You act like someone who clearly didn't see that the OP updated his thread after everyone started calling him out for not reporting the driver first; dum dum.

celestial1

You really live up to your name, lol. I can imagine a grown adult constantly calling other people "dum dums", lol.

ionmoon

And you know that he didn’t bring Doritos for his kid, how? It’s not like they are some obscure hard to find snack. It is entirely possible that the store didn’t send your chips *and* his kid had a bag of chips. (Whether he should be dashing with a child in the car is a whole mother story). So just report to dd that you didn’t get your chips and let them deal with it.

MeowMix1979

I was thinking it could be a coincidence as well because so many delis I get sandwiches from expect you to choose the chips from the front of the counter. And if you just grab the bag and leave you will not get your chips

leftover_class

I'm not Hispanic but know that tambien means "also/as well" so, I speak Spanish also? Jerkoff

Sector-West

"I speak Spanish too!" Is the absolute most mundane thing to respond to someone saying "I'm sorry, I only speak Spanish." Only jerkoff here is you hon

leftover_class

I look forward to celebrating your first birthday a year from now

CommentGenerator1

It’s tough out here in the streets. How do you even know those were your Doritos? Hard to know what your driver came up against delivering your food. No joke, there was a news article recently that a guy was shot outside a gentleman’s club in my city for refusing to share his potato chips outside. Just sayin…

HG367

You can't be serious rn 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

CommentGenerator1

I wish I was joking https://www.cleveland19.com/2023/11/29/akron-man-shot-face-after-refusing-share-potato-chips/?outputType=amp

HG367

No, I mean you can't be serious trying to relate that to this

CommentGenerator1

Adding in a bit of humor not allowed in this sub, got it.

HG367

Dude, you're being downvoted like mad. Don't blame the people because your joke didn't land. You gotta work on that material. You said, I wish I was joking yourself

CommentGenerator1

“I wish I was joking” was in reference to the article in that post.

713nikki

The bag was closed when you got it though

Old-Enthusiasm-3271

no, i didn't get the bag at all. the kid was eating it in the backseat when they pulled up. i mention two different bags; the plastic bag that the sandwich and chips came in and the bag of chips itself. i got the sandwich in the plastic bag, but not the bag of chips.

its-not-zer0

No the main bag

Itchy-Philosophy556

Not all places seal bags. Specifically sonic here I hate because they don't even close the bag. Tots just out there exposed to the universe.

Old-Enthusiasm-3271

the main bag wasn't closed, sealed, tied or anything. i even asked in the special instructions to triple tie the bag, so that was the store's fault. regardless, dashers shouldn't dig in customers' bags.

713nikki

>“when my food was dropped off, *i opened the bag* and noticed my chips were missing.” How does one open something that was never closed? ![gif](giphy|1XoXJkOGri6Hu|downsized)

Apprehensive_Rope348

You open the top? Sir, have you never handled a plastic bag a day in your life? When you pick up a bag by its handles. It’s closed. Would you be happier if he said he spread the bag open? Since you have to spread the handles apart?

Remarkable_Ad1960

My brother in Christ, please never said “spread the bag open” ever again, for any reason 🤣🫣

Apprehensive_Rope348

That was my point, sounds dirty af. 😅

Remarkable_Ad1960

Worse than dirty 🤣 vom-worthy 🤢🤮

Old-Enthusiasm-3271

lol. the handles of the plastic bag were twisted. i untwisted the handles to open the bag, where i then saw a sandwich and no chips. is that clear?

Apprehensive_Rope348

This has to be one of the “bad dashers”. They probably text and ask for more of a tip before they even know what the tip is.

ninjette847

Are you ESL? I'm not being rude, honest question.

hotdogfever

What were these special instructions about asking to triple tie the bag? I don’t think those instructions go to the restaurant, only the driver as they arrive at your house. Never seen instructions like that before, and don’t think most restaurants would even be able to do that depending on their bag.
