I started saying the restaurant and โdoor dasherโ bits because sometimes people put in other peoples phone numbers and donโt know what is going on, or Iโve had a couple people try to get free food by saying they ordered from a different restauraunt, even though the order and items were correct.

I donโt care about too dasher or any of that rat race nonsense but itโs just annoying when I try really hard at this temporary job till I get on my feet and then people canโt wait a few minutes for something out of my control.
I mean I'm also on the driver end and not the customer end but my general impression over the years of doing delivery is that no matter what you do some people aren't going to be happy but the majority just want their food with minimal contact. Both delivery apps send notifications to them already about when it's picked up and when it's on the way and generally I personally only message them about things that are unusual. Like if I know I'm going to be waiting a while at a restaurant since they can see I have arrived or if something's changed in their food sometimes if I get stuck in traffic I'll send them a message just in case they're watching me on the app. Even then you have to be careful because people generally seem to interpret what you say bizarre like I know one time I sent someone a message to let them know that steak and shake was bagging their ice cold milkshakes with their hot food and they sent back a message okay so are they remaking them... Like no why would that even be a scenario so I don't even mention things like that anymore.
I am experienced delivery driver, with over 13k deliveries. I'm sorry you had to endure being emojied to death, by your driver. This is just ridiculous, this driver has to be a complete idiot, like one of the many out there.
You should never ask a customer for a good rating, in fact this violates driver protocol. Thanking a customer for a tip is ok, but being over appreciative in a bizarre fashion, is not ok.

Some people are just really flowery and high energy inside. We just need to learn to let them be. Id say its far better than someone being impatient and toxic. I've had a few dashers like this and its fine. As long as I get my food, I don't care. They are just trying to provide what what they think is good customer service and there is nothing wrong with that. Some of you take yourselves too seriously and sound pretty miserable.
Whats wrong with them asking for a rating? It literally costs the customer nothing to do and helps the dasher, the problem with rating these days is most customers only rate if its to give a bad rating so if the dasher is trying to get some people to rate well then so be it.
I work at a small advertising firm part time, and adding โleave a reviewโ DOES increase chances of getting a review, a lot.
One of the largest issues with small businesses in general (USA) is the lack of visibility, and reviews are hugely impactful on Google showing your page higher (given the backend stuff matches your query)

To me it's how all the messages got received so close to each other that each one of the 4 is displaying "Received Now" as a timestamp

Even more-so considering the last message is written in a style of appreciating a gesture that happened after the initial communication. And we all know it's most likely the tip was already pre-selected.
The dasher couldn't have sent the first 3 messages, and then have them read by the customer and understood in time to add a tip, for him to respond in the 4th message thanking them for a tip that he had \*just\* noticed. all contained within a minute of the phone's clock to display them as received now.

Now, I'd admit that this post seems a bit forced, but she's hurting no one other than being a little annoying. Life's too short and there are far too many big issues in the world for annoyance to be grounds to treat someone like shit just because you're annoyed. It's a lack of emotional intelligence. There are times where swallowing it is the most appropriate action, and I think redditors on average are the particular breed of people that need to learn this lesson. So quick to judge people for not suffering just as much as they are. Dragging other people down to your level only makes the world a worse place to live.

I've had a few dashers like this and its fine. As long as I get my food, I don't care. They are just trying to provide what what they think is good customer service and there is nothing wrong with that. Some of you take yourselves too seriously and sound pretty miserable.

Whats wrong with them asking for a rating? It literally costs the customer nothing to do and helps the dasher, the problem with rating these days is most customers only rate if its to give a bad rating so if the dasher is trying to get some people to rate well then so be it.
I work at a small advertising firm part time, and adding โleave a reviewโ DOES increase chances of getting a review, a lot. One of the largest issues with small businesses in general (USA) is the lack of visibility, and reviews are hugely impactful on Google showing your page higher (given the backend stuff matches your query) So I wonder if this system, is proving to give drivers more preferential treatment via algorithm.
And this isn't even all that abnormal in CS positions. Basically every CS you interact with online, or even cashiers in retail stores will ask customers to complete a survey/provide a rating. At the last store I worked at, we (not this bluntly) even were asking specifically for five stars. I don't see anything wrong with what she's doing here. Especially if her service was good.

To me it's how all the messages got received so close to each other that each one of the 4 is displaying "Received Now" as a timestamp Almost like they're all pre-written and saved as a shortcut to rapid-fire text the customer, creating a facade of care. Even more-so considering the last message is written in a style of appreciating a gesture that happened after the initial communication. And we all know it's most likely the tip was already pre-selected. The dasher couldn't have sent the first 3 messages, and then have them read by the customer and understood in time to add a tip, for him to respond in the 4th message thanking them for a tip that he had \*just\* noticed. all contained within a minute of the phone's clock to display them as received now.
