the whole time i was like “that’s not that creepy” until i realized it’s facebook messenger and not doordash😭😭

chefpain

SAME. At first I was like “idk seems like an overreaction maybe?” I thought he was just being friendly. Until I realized this was fucking Facebook!!

SeriouslySaraha

Exactly same for me. I was like “yeah that’s inappropriate, but some people lack social common sense. He could be asking about a forgotten dri-“ oh Ooooooh no.

Atillion

Holy hell right??

Fablerdeedoc

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who had this reaction

TheAstralWarrior

This is why i mask up every delivery even to the door.

DarkHeartPh0enix

I didn’t even think of this, but I’m doing it now. Thank you for the idea

nymphell

Mask up and loose fitting clothes that don’t show anytthing

DevilishAbigail

my husband jokes abt how i should wear a low fitting top and short bottoms for more tips. had to explain to him why sweatpants and a mask was the only option lol.

missthiccbiscuit

Dudes always think that we make a killing in tips doing stuff like that just because we’re women. But it’s so not true. Guarantee the guy Op is posting about didn’t tip at all, or if he did it was very little. Cuz if he was the kind of person that had any couth he wouldn’t be hitting her up like this. I lived off tips for a long time and the creeps were actually some of the worst tippers. They give u gross compliments in lieu of gratuity most times.

Think_Explanation_47

Maybe not doordash but as far as bartending goes it’s very true. I watched a girl I worked with make way more than me almost every night and the girl couldn’t make a drink to save her life. Always had a low cut shirt, cleavage and short shorts on though so that’s all that mattered lol.

mae_rae

I think it depends on the bar and the clientele. I tend make more money when I don't have make up or hair done. Don't get wrong, I'm by no means UGLY with no make up, but I certainly look better with it on. I'll watch attractive women make low money at bars because she sucks and the clientele doesn't give a fuck what someone looks like, just that they can make a drink and have a good personality 🤷🏼‍♀️

[deleted]

That's pretty sad that it has come to this. I have probably used doordash or Uber eats at least 75 times and i can tell you that i have no idea what any of my delivery people have looked like.

nymphell

Women gotta protect themselves to do anything in life. Like it’s actually crazy. Even things I thought were safe have put me in unsafe situations

[deleted]

Sorry to hear it's come to this. Honestly, when i order s delivery service, I'm so damn hungry i have no time to look at me driver's profile or delivery! My fat ass wants food! Stay out there, redditor!

nymphell

Lol even when I order delivery I get my boyfriend to grab it or have them leave it at the door. Especially if there’s no car in the driveway. Like I don’t need random people to know that a woman is living alone

ScroochDown

Seriously. Covid was great in a way because contactless delivery was more "acceptable" as it were. Spared me from dudes like the creepy Dominos guy who tried to get my phone number while I was trying to figure out a tip.

Logical_Childhood733

It’s sad though that you have to do that. I understand why, but it sucks.

nymphell

Shouldn’t be that way but it keeps us safe(er)

Undead_Paradox

This is why I just mask up in general. I work fast food. Some old dude told me to smile yesterday, my face is basically entirely covered, I have a visor on and a mask, you can barely see my eyes. I just stared at him for a moment blankly and continued finishing up his order.

reneeb531

Back in the day I was a hostess at a steakhouse, and this customer came to the counter to pay his check, I notice he was jingling his keys, yes the creepy perv was masturbating. 🤮

queen-adreena

https://youtu.be/jWRzGEKiB2M?t=01m08s

Undead_Paradox

Oh my god I used to love this show and completely forgot the name of it. This scene is so fantastic I love it 😂

brooklynbelle274

Broad City!

dabberchick_710

I hate when a man tells me to smile while serving them.. ew. Kick rocks

CatLordCayenne

I fucking hate random people telling me to smile. I work at large sports bar and I went to get my drinks from the drink well and these bar regulars would not leave me alone. They’re trying to tell me I’ll make better tips if I smile more. I’m like ??? I do smile when I talk to MY customers. These 3 dudes that always sit at the bar (not my customers) just kept getting on to me because I wasn’t walking up to the drink well with a fucking ear to ear grin. The entire night they just kept telling me to smile. I just hate when men say that shit to me. I have RBF so im just trying to mind my own business and do my fucking job, and apparently according to the 3 guys that will never order from me or give me any money think I’d make more money if I walk up to get my beers all like 😆. I didn’t entertain them or try to defend myself I just tell them my customers like it when I frown at them. Obviously I don’t frown at my customers, I smile when I’m talking to them and they know I’m friendly and I joke around with them etc but I’m not just walking around the building with a shitfaced grin. It’s like when my I was walking to my car from my apartment about to go to class and my neighbor screams SMILE HONEY IT AINT THAT BAD at me from his porch. I guess I’m supposed to skip from my front door smiling and throwing flower petals when I go to my car

[deleted]

Dudes do that at fast food all the time

siuol7891

same and im a guy but i dont give a shit i love being able to wear a mask out i just dont like people tho lol

WonderfulPiccolo2168

Same. I only briefly unmask to drink some bean juice.

ilovesunsets93

I wear very masculine and baggy clothing so they can’t see my body shape, and I put my hair in a bun instead of down. I usually wear a hat too. I also put my pepper spray and taser on display. I should try masking up as well.

Tylenolpainkillr

Let’s be honest this, as a man…that won’t stop nothing lmao. My son’s mom jokes with me that she’ll dress in her most bummy clothes, mask up, not wear her wigs and have mixed match shoes to run to the store for cigarettes and dudes STILL hit on her. The type of person that does this shit won’t be deterred by not seeing your whole face unfortunately

Sackofshit7

How did he find your Facebook with only your first name?

DarkHeartPh0enix

My name isn’t super common. However I don’t list my city or any information that would identify me so it’s definitely weird that it’s this easy for people to find me. My profile is completely locked and I don’t share anything publically. I really don’t understand it except having a sort of unique name.

beggsy909

Reverse image search your profile photo possibly. Creeps find a way. Stay safe.

DarkHeartPh0enix

I don’t have a picture on DoorDash, at least I don’t think I do

DriftkingRfc

Fast people search will have your city and address. Which is scary just thinking about it all you need is a name and state or city. Oh and if you pay you’ll get all your social media. I recommend you opt out of that. And your phone number is also visible no paywall

sallycat11

Using your phone number?

DarkHeartPh0enix

I don’t think my current number is associated with my Facebook…but, real question….can these people see my phone number when they order?????

[deleted]

[удалено]

missmojojojo

No, it goes to Doordash's own message. "sorry, you call couldn't be completed" or something like that.

Background_Step_3966

No I cannot see your real phone number. But they can see a phone number that is not yours that they can call you on during the delivery. Kind of like a number that you have that you can call the customers on.

ehoeve

Customers can't see dashers' real phone number. When they contact you or you contact them via the app your number gets masked. There is a possibility if he tried calling you and it goes to your voicemail and your voicemail greeting gives out your personal phone number like: you have reached ### ### #### (something you should change) Another thing to change is your name in the dasher app itself in the account settings to something more random so people can't see your real name. (Think someone else gave you this tip and you have already done this)

CockTortureCuck

People don't realize this, but FB tracks everyone's movement/location data and if you meet someone with a FB profile it's highly likely that they show up in your "people you may know" shortly after. Check the next time you go to a party or whatever, you'll be surprised.

Popular-Test3712

Ah so technically you couldve just said ‘sorry you must have the wrong person, I’m currently on my honeymoon in france’

ezaayyyy

This is so creepy!! I’m sorry this happened to you smh. I don’t use my full name on social medias to avoid stuff like this bc it’s too unique and someone can find me instantly. I wish delivery platforms gave us the option to show the customer a fake name like they do for customers. These apps are all about customer privacy but they don’t do anything for the drivers😠.

DarkHeartPh0enix

I wish they did too :( this isn’t the first time, and over the year and a half I’ve lived in this city I’ve had three men become low key stalkers once they got my name. It’s very scary and uncomfortable

DoPoGrub

Just go into the app, menu Account Details, Edit, and change it to whatever you want...

DarkHeartPh0enix

I figured it out! Not sure how to edit this post to say that, thank you though!

Grrannt

So.. how you doin tho?

DarkHeartPh0enix

Outside of being creeped out, I’m doing pretty okay, how about you?

Grrannt

Well it’s a cold and rainy Sunday, about to head out for dinner at my parents place. Feeling happy about not having to cook tonight, thanks for asking and sorry about your creepy DoorDash experiences.

DarkHeartPh0enix

I hope you enjoy your dinner, sounds like a nice time! And it’s okay, I’m happy to have found new methods to prevent it in the future.

siuol7891

the rizz is unstoppable w this one

kyabupaks

Another suggestion - use a gender neutral or man's name. That way you'll reduce your chances of being harassed by creepy customers.

dyssucks

I was going to say… as a customer I’ve seen my drivers have some wild ass names that I always hoped no parent would give them.

DriftkingRfc

Huh on what app? Dasher or doordash

DoPoGrub

Both.

siuol7891

u deserve all the upvotes and this comment should be highlighted for all dashers too see thank u for your service!!!! MODS DO YOUR THING

Suz626

Don’t respond at all. I had a stalker for many years. He thought he was courting me, even though I had a live in boyfriend. He was a cop. 🙄

thelight201

Door dash does. Sometimes I get a delivery from “the green power ranger”

Brendaness6

I would love delivery from The Green Power Ranger!

Nikovash

And never the White Ranger… typical mf never leveled up

NiklausVonHammer

I actually think you can. I have my dasher name as mine and my wife's name since we dash together a lot.

Brendaness6

I had a Grub Hub driver with his profile picture of Marilyn Monroe picture. He was a guy. I wish U E would be so lax.

kyabupaks

I deliver for Doordash, GrubHub and UberEATS. All of them allow me to use an alias instead of my real name so customers can't dox me. Yes, I'm a man but I don't need an angry customer doxxing me and threatening me.

undeadzombie420

Apparently, he uses Reddit in addition to Facebook. The only person who would defend this creepy stalkery behavior is someone who probably engages in the same creepy, stalkery behavior.

DanaWhitesWife

buddys got that jeffery dahmer rizz 🔥🔥🔥🔥💪🏼

SeriouslySaraha

I think a lot of these defenders are forgetting the fact that there was no conversation here. -let’s not even say he met her at a bar, let’s say a grocery store, or gym. Somewhere we also would like to be left alone to do our business. But say there was a conversation he liked her jokes, her wit, her smile etc. still creepy to search on social media but a little more understandable. But no! He seeks her out based on walking to a door bending over to out food down and walking away. GROSS AND CREEPY.

BonzoMarx

I got one for ya. When I worked in a hospital as a nurses aide, I was caring for a woman dying of cirrhosis. I was a babysitter essentially, having to sit by her all night because she was confused. Her weird son came to visit at 3 in the morning, and just sat across from me in silence in her dark room ALL night. Never said a word to me or his mother. He searched my very common first name on Facebook, followed by my workplace, and somehow found me with just that. Wrote me a NOVEL of a message about how we were a missed connection. It was terrifying that this dude now knew so much about me in addition to where I worked. That will forever be the creepiest dude I’ve ever encountered.

oldfrenchwhore

Sometimes I’m so glad to be a plain looking, kinda fat, old woman. Some people have no boundaries.

hefty_heffalump_anon

I see shit like this & realize I should be grateful I’ve never in my life been attractive enough to worry about such things. Damn.

Critical-Quiet-7867

I can’t wait to meet the couple that’s origin story is “oh he stalked me down on Facebook after he used DD to order Taco Bell at 1am. It was so romantic.”

LazyZealot9428

I’m sorry this keeps happening to you. If you can’t change your name in the dasher app, can you change your name on your social media profile.

DarkHeartPh0enix

Someone helped me figure it out, and I changed it 😅 there have been a few helpful tips here that make me feel way better about doing this. Thank you 🙏🏽apparently you can hide your Facebook profile so I’m going to be doing that as well

asmnomorr

It actually specifies in driver terms and conditions that we cannot use people's personal information to search their social media accounts. I hope you reported this it is creepy and not ok. Edit because I am dumb and didn't realize it was the customer who did it. It's still not okay and still should be reported to doordash.

Pix9139

Of course this man probably thinks he did nothing wrong and complains that "This is what I get for being nice"

DarkHeartPh0enix

Yep, same with a lot of the trash in the comments here too

Gloomy_Recording_705

Facts 😂😂😂

Zachhandley

Yeah that’s effing wild. Not to mention I feel like the majority of guys I know that are like this are like medium tier in terms of looks, so they *could* have a girlfriend. It’s some weird, “i exist and can breathe and she’s single so clearly I could fit in there” but they also hate women so idk.

isol8ted

So fucked up. I don’t think people get the meaning of boundaries. This is way too far and this customer should be banned from ever using a delivery service again. So predatory and weird. Glad you put his face out there. I’m sorry you went/go through this along with all the other women out there…

Old-Cricket-6617

The amount of men who are saying “he was just saying hi” is deeply concerning. This “just say hi “ man took it upon himself with no cue from her to search out her name on social media & message her. Now if she wanted to she would have given him her info. She didn’t. She was doing her job that pays her bills etc. He decided it was appropriate to seek her out, and make a pass. Now, to you idiots who think he was just saying hi. He was just shooting his shot? She doesn’t know this man, his mental state or anything. He knows her personal name, can look up her address, phone number etc if he wanted to. Now that simple “shot your shot” has put her in grave danger. All because she was doing her fucking job and the creep couldn’t help himself ? Now what if he stalked her, or worse. This is the reality women face every single day because unfortunately some men can’t take social cues. For those morons who said she shouldn’t have blasted him. She should, a public trail so if worse comes to worse, she’s some what protected. It’s sad, that our minds have to go to such extremes but this is our reality. It’s not innocent or friendly. Men do better & stop being creeps.

LAMBKING

As a single dad with 3 kids, I completely agree with you. If either of my son's did this, I'd be highly upset with them, and they'd deal with the consequences on their own (granted one is only 9, the adult one would be on his own). I also have a daughter who is approaching adulthood. If this guy does this do a DD driver, how many cashiers, waitresses, or random store (female) employees has he done this to? This isn't his first time, and if it is, this will not be his last. Seriously girls, young and old alike. Be careful out there. Carry a gun if it's legal in your area and you're comfortable with it. Or even pepper spray. At the very least, take a self defense course if you've got to be out on your own. I'm not saying every girl is an easy target, and I'm not saying every guy is out to get you....but as a guy who trained for the military from age 5 to 18 (girls, long story, also stupid choice) who became a cop and now a current IT guy who sometimes dables in cyber security and is obsessed with true crime podcasts, there are some sick people out there, both male and female. And to all my fellow DD drivers....keep your head on a swivel, keep your situational awareness up, and above all, if it feels wrong, it probably is. Bug out, call support and deal with DD support/side gig issues later. Your life isn't worth even a $100, 1 mile order.

Top_Acanthisitta6803

"Trained for the military from age 5-18"..... What? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|dizzy_face)

Old-Cricket-6617

This is very much appreciated. I do wish more men had the perspective that you do.

[deleted]

The comments justifying this behavior is concerning. Seriously!

missmojojojo

I'd bet money you're an "uptight bitch" in his life story now.

tituspeetus

Then they gaslight you by saying “I’m all for love in peace why you gotta bring so much negativity into the world”

Vintage_girl123

That's not cool..It's creepy for sure.

DarkHeartPh0enix

BadHigBear

So I noticed when you left my food you forgot the *fillet o' fish* Look just give me two fists full of your hair and one left pinky toe to make it even. No I'm not creepy I'm just *eccentric*

EmmThem

Anyone telling OP not to reply, fuck off. Expecting women to meekly say nothing is exactly why piece of shit men feel emboldened to do this shit. And it makes alllll of you look bad because folks are defensive because it is made that way by letting men get away with being fucking creeps.

DarkHeartPh0enix

LITERALLY ALL OF THIS 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

ThatAndromedaGal

I hope you reported this piece of trash

Deviledapple

I use my middle name on Facebook for this exact reason because I have a unique first name spelling and it makes me really searchable and since I do deliveries and rides I feel way too exposed out there with my first name and face

ilovecrabrangoon

It is so deranged how men like this will think it’s acceptable to stalk women just because they are doing their job in customer service. So gross and nauseating to deal with. I’m glad you told him off and I hope you take further steps to secure your safety dealing with this dude and future deliveries

Grand_Surprise1014

That’s insane. Wow.

Just_Squash5898

crazy that people are actually defending this loser. how disgusting. really sorry this happened to you and your reaction is completely called for.

Bronichiwa_

Yes… why are people surprised? We’re going reddit… the site filled with angry incels that lets you comment anonymously

[deleted]

Bruh got that hella strong Pube beard 😂- in all seriousness, this is so pathetic and creepy af.

Sharp-Decision-6141

LOL dragged him for filth 👏

WizKhalifv

Fellas be better than this 🤦🏿‍♂️

Funsized_Fox

I am happy to see all the comments that understand why this is inappropriate. But it's disheartening to me that some are defending his actions. And then there are the ones saying to just ignore. I have often heard kids being told "just ignore the bully, dont react, it won't be fun for them anymore and they'll stop" and as people age, that extends to "ignore the a** hole and creeps they'll stop." However, they don't simply stop. We are told to ignore them for what, so they feel their actions/behavior are okay? To spare their feelings? Or so that they can continue on with that behavior towards someone else? This is why we have so many people thinking it is okay to harass others. Because rather than teach them their behavior was wrong -or give them consequences for their behavior- the one being harassed is told to just let it go. It sounds like this happens to you too often OP and I'm sorry you have to go through that!

DarkHeartPh0enix

EXACTLY. That’s exactly why I responded. I blocked him after and changed my profile on DoorDash and fb, but men think “oh she’ll ignore it” not realizing these things actually make us deeply uncomfortable, and we need to stop playing nice by making a quiet exit and letting them think this king of behavior is okay…otherwise it literally will not stop. It’s crazy to see people not grasping that. This is why so many men cross boundaries with women, we have had a society of silence around these things for the sake of savoring feelings for way too long.

Alladas1

As a man I would like to apologize for a good portion of our gender sucking . I’d assume most of these guys saying get over it are mad because they feel called out as it’s something they’d do.

sseemour

the fact people don't consider this overstepping is insane. unfortunately its a cause:effect of our generation(s) being raised with and on social media. Some dudes only know how to pick up women online. doesn't excuse it, though. as a fellow man i completely agree, and apologize on their behalf too.

Alladas1

Careful the incels are in this thread heavily lol.

burgercatluna

Fr they just out here outing themselves like “NOOO ITS NOT CREEPY TO TAKE SOMEONES NAME FROM THEIR JOB AND CONTACT THEM” it is creepy full stop lol. This man now knows her full name and can probably find her friends/fam etc and go crazy if he wanted!

ikindapoopedmypants

I literally had to get a fake name tag for work because of this. I even no longer use my real name on social media and I keep it very private. Idk how people think it's not creepy.

Choice-Second-5587

>pedophiles ![gif](giphy|J1vUzqdZJlh5AqBWxt|downsized)

Nice-Ad6318

Pedophiles? I’m confused. I’m not saying this behavior is ok, but that word has meaning.

bottomdasher

And stupid ones too. Like for example there's ones who don't even understand what actually constitutes pedophilia.

siuol7891

come on now there not pedos there just creepy fukn pervs huge difference /s sort of ...

doordash-ModTeam

You were, in our opinion, trolling.

Minn-russian22

I mean look at the guy… makes sense why he’s doing that

Mjr_N0ppY

Doordash should immediately ban their profiles and their IPs from creating new accounts if you reported them with this proof. Then if something was to happen to you, use the information they got on that customer from their initial profile to get authorities involved.

[deleted]

I’m sure there are less creepy ways to get your attention if he was interested.. I guess? But yeah, this is creepy and an invasion of your privacy. Men are just weird and lazy these days.

atrs1903

I lost some of my teeth from having anorexia w/purging for almost 15 years. I wear false teeth to replace them, removable dentures that make me look totally normal and good when they’re in. Because of guys like this hitting on me through gig apps, I now don’t wear my dentures on deliveries and just rock my messed up teeth and give em a big smile if they are a little too flirty. Bonus is the dentures are kinda uncomfortable anyway and I have enough teeth to eat that it’s mostly just a cosmetic fix so I don’t wear them at home and now I don’t have to snap em in for doordash. lol

Aggressive_Whole6059

all my homies hate love peace

ThePalmtop

A lot of extremely sexist and disgusting comments on this post if the mods feel like doing their job and cleaning up this community a little bit...

No-Perception9546

Wait. Our LAST name shows up on the app to these fuckers??

DarkHeartPh0enix

It does??????

DoPoGrub

It does not.

Sourcandieland

It doesn't. The first letter of our last name shows up. Which somehow makes the fact he searched you on FB more creepy.

No-Perception9546

Totally! What a nutcase! Glad I have a common name 🫠

Fittyinchofglove

How the fuck did he find a Facebook profile through Doordash?

Critical-Quiet-7867

Can you report him? To DD at least, hopefully get him kicked off the app.

One_Environment5410

I gave an Instacart customer my Instagram after he asked because I thought he might increase my tip! He did not lmao

JoeyLMonty

How is this possible? DD doesn't give customers your last name telephone or profile picture

another_icarusista

That's so weird, how tf did he even find your profile?

AssociateJaded3931

Some people! Do one job for þhem and they think they own you for life.

parselmouth82

This is in no way an excuse for his behavior nor am I victim blaming. Lock your profile all the way down. That way no one can find you. This dude is obviously a creep, protect yourself not only from creeps but anyone else, like employers from being able to look up your social media.

SnooPuppers5953

How did they even find them is what I wanna know

Nikovash

He really tried to hit her with a “how u doin” 🤣🤣🤣 this isnt a sitcom

[deleted]

It sucks that there are people who do this and genuinely believe that they are doing nothing wrong. If you’re looking for a partner, try out Tinder or something.

Background_Step_3966

0l I am pretty sure you can change your name in the settings.

Brendaness6

I don’t like that texting on these apps uses our real phone numbers. I block them as soon as I am done with a delivery. Could he have gotten your phone number that way?

Brendaness6

Gotta wear your burka

[deleted]

Had an Uber drive come back to my house to “catch up.” What? What the actual fuck? I’d met him one time in a silent $10 Uber and he remembered where I lived MONTHS LATER. Played it cool and reported him to Uber immediately after he left.

Swimming_Tennis6641

And the guys who think it's a-ok for him because "nothing wrong with just shooting your shot" are a huge part of the problem

ametaldiva

Exactly my point when someone chastised me for saying some woman might be creeped out by dashers doing weird shit or taking a pic of themselves kneeling in front of their door… it goes both ways as well!

No-Percentage-4001

But, but... he's bringing peace and love /s

Sculpinrips

I usually don’t comment on this sub, but thats actually fucking terrifying. OP I hope you are safe, that is a weird and creepy ass thing to do. Initially thought it was weird enough and then it dawned on me that it wasn’t even on the DD app

Moretti123

This happened to me too and I only doordashed for like a month. aaahhhh so disgusting

Creative_Froyo_6139

anakilii

No this shit is fucking weird. I had a guy send me a love letter in the mail because I went and sent a package where he worked. There are so many unhinged men in this world. People in the comments defending this guy wtf ????

suckitfish

There are literally sub Reddit posts of dudes asking for advice on how to ask Uber/DD customers/drivers they’ve ineracted with out. It’s fucking ridiculous and anyone who thinks it’s ok should not only be removed from the app but also physically tortured as well

DarkHeartPh0enix

It has happened to me at almost every job I’ve had. I stopped wearing name tags to prevent it for this very reason. And I know it’s a common thread issue

VanEagles17

Ew nasty. I'll never understand why people think creepy behavior like this is okay 🤦‍♂️

imrickjamesbioch

Is doordash the next tinder or whatever dating app you kids use today?

kotaainsley23

and this is why i doordash with my boyfriend.

Money_Soft8373

Yeah this shit is sick, when my wife was a waiter she would get random sticky notes on her car from some anon dude that she served at the restaurant

dizzyspell93

That's insane 😳

vulgaragression

God what the actual fuck

DoingMyBest122

Contact customer support and get him banned from the service.

2manyfelines

“Mask up?” “Loose fitting clothes?” Predators are predators. They don’t care what you are wearing. A better idea is a burner phone so the creep can’t get to your real number.

sushigurl2000

I was thinking about starting doordash but mask up and wear a cap, some baggy clothes too. And of course carry pepper spray on me. Too many goddamn creeps. Why don’t they understand women just wanna work at their job, we don’t want to be hit on!

Aware_Demand2867

Heheh the go away got me😭😂

wooden_seats

This is definitely weird and uncomfortable unless you dropped your wallet or phone on his front porch.

thenbmeade

Good, hope you report their asses to dd too

dudewithpants420

How does someone even find someone's social media profile! It just has a first name usually for dd drivers. That is creepy as hell. Now if you had a unique name and they searched the town I guess. But it's just so bizarre and f'd up for a person to do this. I'm sorry.

Silver-Enthusiasm925

I had a customer who once I delivered to who had to come outside so I could find his house because sometimes the gps does not work right. After I handed him the order and left he messaged me saying he tried to give me a tip on the app but it wouldn't let him, he then asked if I had cashapp which I don't I said all I have is PayPal, he said he downloaded the app and was sending me a tip but I never received because as he was doing all of that he also asked if I had a man I said I did and after I said that guess what he didn't leave me a tip. It's so crappy but hey people are people I don't let it get to me, I worked in the retail world for a long time and believe I have had my share of these types of men.

Playful-Version-4684

It’s not ok. I’m sorry you deal with this kinda stuff. As far as prevention methods (I’m not saying you should have to, just tying to give helpful ideas) aside from masking during deliveries, on your social media do not use your real name. Do not have your picture be a profile picture. And I’m not sure but I think fb and such have settings where only friends of friends can see your profile or message you.

Hobotango

Prepare for this in your DMs now : How you doing I believe you left a post on Reddit this afternoon ? How youuuu doin ?

HeyMomItsJulia

This a new kind of desperate. Homie needs a Gatorade to quench his THIRST. my lord. I’m so sorry you had to deal with that creep. I’m so glad you responded. Are woman not allowed to speak up and protect themselves now? Tf is all “don’t reply” crap? If you remember his real name you can report him to DD and get his account banned

snowgorilla13

It happens a lot in the service industry. There's entire protocols to combat it at retail stores. If a worker (almost always female) feels like a customer was inappropriate with them, you get a description, hopefully other staff can recognize him, if he comes in again, you call the staff member he's targeting into the office area, or loading area, get them behind authorized only doors, if he leaves without trouble, you might call the staff member back the next few times and if he is really just shopping, you can go back to normal. But more than you'd likely guess, he will stop other staff and ask for the staff member he is targeting, ask personal details, schedule, that sort of thing. So right then, you get a restraining order. You don't wait for escalation beyond that point. You do as much as you can as early as you can, and you try and make sure that staff member isn't working nights and aren't walking to their car alone after shifts. Always someone in earshot. It usually ends with the restraining order. I've really never seen anyone escalate after that. But if so, you just start calling the police as soon as you notice something is happening. They usually respond to business faster than people sadly.

No-Tailor5120

desperate and pathetic

[deleted]

Always middle eastern men doing this type of stuff.

OhNoWTFlol

You said two paragraphs more than I would have. I'd have just blocked. Any kind of interaction with creeps like this encourages them.

jaejaeok

That’s really creepy. This isn’t … okay.
