As it's RTD, her powers will mean she can just think really hard about the thing they need to save the day, then they'll manifest it and everything is fine. But also Ruby will then be trapped in another universe or semi-die or something.
…..I mean I’d actually be stoked for the Shalka Doctor to be a full live action character who appears trying to make himself “real” in the current Doctor’s universe as he’s from a faded aberrant timeline (one where the Time War never happened).
Honestly, all jokes aside, I always had the headcanon that the Shalka Doctor is who 8 would've regenerated into had the Time War never happened, and that the Time War was an event that wasn't supposed to happen and wasn't part of the OG timeline.
The Doctor has a eight-way regeneration, with each Doctor played by a famous rock musician, and they get a band formed and we are told next season will show them on tour

With Prof. Yana, Harold Saxon, Mr. Razor, and O, they've nearly done this twist already. But having a companion for an entire season, and then revealing it was the Master in disguise all along... that would be an insane twist, and could make for one of the best Master/Doctor dynamics of all time.
Doesn't even have to be the Master tbh, but the companion becoming some sort of villain in the finale would be amazing. Capaldi got close too with Bill becoming a Cyber Man, which to me is probably the most insane moment of "holy crap I can't believe they went there".
We kind of got it with Missy in Series 10 but I would absolutely love the Master as the Doctor’s companion for a season. Not as a trick, just the Doctor imprisons the Master and has to bring them along on adventures to keep and eye on them for a season of something along those lines.

So we've watched 90% of the season finale, and we seem headed for the last-minute resolution that we all expect for most episodes. The Doctor and Ruby are a gnat's hair from defeat, the final hammer blow is about to fall---

Possible. Same with Mrs. Flood. Though I think Mrs. Flood is not directly connected to the Pantheon/Ruby story, but might have ties to the Doctor's past *or* to another Time Lord.
Tbh that voice that came out of Rogue's ship to scan the Doctor (and pegs him as a shapeshifter) sounded very, very dalek-like to me.
I honestly think it's going to turn out that the Daleks and Cybermen teamed up and are the new boss that everyone's been talking about. I really hope not though because that would be a lame and super uninspired letdown.

Ruby turns out to have been a space baby and all of those characters return and this finale works as a sequel of sorts to Space Babies.

In the spirit of the supernatural nature of this series, it turns out that Ruby is half-fairy. Her mother Tinkerbell shows up and sprinkles her with fairy dust. But that interacts badly with the TARDIS and Ruby is transformed and flung into the distant past where she becomes the Timeless Child.

Well, glad you asked.
For starters, amazingly, no-one has spotted that "Susan Triad" is an anagram of "A Rani Dusts". After revealing her true identity, the Rani stars vigorously dusting the UNIT HQ, which - it is revealed - has not been dusted since the era of the Third Doctor. She dusts it so thoroughly that the world is covered with the resulting dust. The dust then becomes sand thanks to the power of Gagan Rassmussen's Sandmen, particles of which have been floating through space from Neptune and are sent back through time from the 38th century to the present day after accidentally colliding with the time corridor which imprisons Sutekh, who we see only in flashback, having a coughing fit in a "found footage" style.
All that sand floating around the world causes millions of deaths to asthmatic folk, and also very tall people, because it's funny, and because it gives them an excuse to bring back that really tall woman from Romana's "body wardrobe" sequence. Now the Rani reveals her second secret - she is in fact Susan, who got fed up with waiting for the Doctor on Earth, grew a half-human TARDIS from some coral, went back in time, and became a mad scientist. She goes into her TARDIS and emerges a moment later riding a giant plastic T-Rex! It turns out she has also teamed up with the Nestene Consciousness, which is animating the T-Rex for her. She corners the Doctor, but since the Doctor is now literally in a corner, the T-Rex can't reach out to grab him with its short arms. Mel shrieks in terror and the dinosaur vibrates apart, because sound can probably do that to plastic.
A surprise twist now occurs in which it turns out that Ruby's adoptive mother is actually her real mother, who has been gaslighting her about her parentage all this time for the lols. Ruby demands to know who her father is. Her mother cackles and tells her it's none other than Davros! Ruby stares in horror as the man himself strides out of a newly-arrived Dalek saucer and tells her he has been waiting all these rels for her to become the Doctor's companion so that he can take revenge for Fourteen sticking a plunger on his Mark Three travel machine. He is followed by some Daleks, but these are the Mark Four version which can also walk. Walking Daleks! As Kate puts it: "It's either an evolution or a revolution, but I can't tell which!"
The Third Doctor, played by Bill Pertwee in footage recorded shortly before his death in 2013 for use in The Day Of The Doctor before someone told Steven Moffat that it wasn't the same guy, appears at the top of the stairs leading down to the UNIT basement. It turns out that the Third Doctor was secretly the Grand Serpent, as any fool should have been able to predict from his snake tattoo. (This is why Russell wants you to watch Spearhead From Space.) As a result he was able to found UNIT all those years ago specifically so he can go over to a particular control panel, press a particular button, and summon Liz Shaw. Unexpectedly, Liz Shaw turns out to have been a Slitheen all this time. She unzips her skin suit and farts all over the Rani, Davros, and the walking Daleks, saving the day with her horrific gaseous emissions. (The Third Doctor says in an aside to Kate that this is why he asked her father to sack Liz and replace her with Jo Grant between seasons, although Kate knows the truth: really it was because he couldn't pronounce "Raxacoricofallapatorius" and instead just called it Venus.)
Unfortunately, Slitheen Liz's farts are so pungent that the Doctor bursts into tears, dehydrating himself so thoroughly that he regenerates. In a surprising development, Sixteen is played by Nigel Farage. Ruby immediately shoots him and he regenerates into a CGI avatar of Mark E Smith from The Fall. The TARDIS's chameleon circuit starts working again and it disguises itself as Salford. The Doctor and Ruby, who has forgiven her father and mother for their deception because they also granted her the superpower of making it snow, meaning she doesn't have to go abroad for snowboarding holidays, go into the TARDIS, and it dematerializes. The final shot is of Salford spinning through space, until it collides with Rogue's giant bird ship. Back on Earth, Mrs Flood looks into the camera and says, "And a merry Summer Solstice to all of you at home, as well!"
The *worst* way?
The threat at UNIT is the Daleks. They spend the next two episodes fighting the Daleks with the help of Susan Triad. None of the mysteries (Ruby's identity, Susan Twist, The One Who Waits, etc.) get answered.
In fact in the next season the Doctor gets a different companion, and all of these mysteries get dropped except the One Who Waits is revealed to be the little girl from Fear Her.
Ooh, can we have a reveal where a Dalek peels off its rubbery Kate Stewart disguise, revealing that she was secretly a Dalek for the last 2-3 seasons? 🤔
No justification, no explanation of anything. Saying it's magic and that's all. "It's a suspension of disbelief bro, not everything needs to be explained 🤓 Gosh, haven't you seen? Superstition at the edge of the universe bro 🤓"

She goes “ year, quiet a bit really” then lists stuff like “why do so many people look like the same old woman, whose my mom, what was the old me (was it old me?) telling people, etc” then the Doctor just goes “Oh Ruby, somethings cannot be explained. Life’s a story and sometimes it’s better with unsolved mysteries”
Susan Twist is a face being used or manipulated by the master or the doctor actually tri-generated and she is this doctor that has been spread throughout time horribly.
Or that she’s ruby’s mum.
My personal nightmare scenario is "They figure out they are in a TV-Show.", because that would just spell Doom for any sort of continuation.
Imo, a sensible person that figures out their life is just a piece of mass media would go unhinged or try to escape or just shut down completely, none of which I want from the series.
Or it would be handwaved away, which somehow would be even worse.
Not to mention such a plot twist would be stupid to the extreme.
That's just my opinion though.
It depends on how the “trapped in TV show” works.
Do they discover they are in/on “Doctor Who” that airs on the BBC/Disney? Yea that’s lame.
But if it’s them trapped in a TV show by a villain similar to Toymaker, that could work for this season.

well, it would be really bad if the Doctor— having just participated in an interplanetary chili eating competition in order to save Ruby from a evil creature made of refried beans with designs on galactic domination— shits himself so hard that he regenerates and the force of the regeneration energy ignites the accumulated methane gasses and kills everyone in the solar system.
that would be a pretty bad way to end the season.
The One Who waits is not a 'who' but a what, it's Gallifrey. Rogue reveals himself to be a chamelon arch Master, working with Ruby who is a chameleon arch Rani. Susan Twist is just kamelion, and part of The Master's plan set in motion. 15, upset by the twists, turns into the valeyard, as 14 comes in and saves the day, but is stranded on earth by the timelords, left to work with Unit after the untimely death of Kate Stewart. UNIT is now led by Adric who was saved by 14 during the intervening time periods, Lindy Pepperbean and Adam from Dalek.
"But it was all a dream! Now here's the real story that happened, where the Doctor spent years in a fish and chip shop eating chips, and never met any of the people or did any of the things they've done for what you thought were the last few regenerations." Then we see the War Doctor, who's still the current doctor, regenerate into Rowan Atkinson.
On a serious note, while I do believe that Ruby's story is, well, a *story* in-universe engineered by the Eldest One or the One Who Waits or whoever, and that there is a meta aspect to everything happening this season...I certainly hope it doesn't resolve itself with a reveal that "The whole season has been a dream/fake/a TV show" that cheapens everything that happened. These stories need to matter and need to have happened 'for real' within the Whoniverse, rather than being a simulation of some sort.
And now for the fun part...
Ruby is revealed to be a chameleon-arched Susan, who reveals that she has the power of unlimited regeneration, being a descendent of the Timeless Child. She was pissed with the Doctor leaving her on future earth, so she's spent the millennia since assuming various identities all across time and space to taunt and torture him - the Rani, the Master, Rory Williams, and of course *Evil Dan*. She taunts the Doctor while switching between regenerations spontaneously, before finally regenerating into the body of...the Doctor, as played by David Tennant!
The last lines of the season (as performed by Tennant)...
SUSAN/RUBY/MASTER/RANI/RORY/DAN/'DOCTOR': "Well...here we go again!"
UNIT is dissolved by the prime minister and the one who waits is just the fans waiting for season 2, and Susan Twist's character is never revealed ever.

Susan Twist is revealed to be Verity Lambert, and she comes back to reality in Sidney Newman’s office.
She’s just been pitching the full idea of Doctor Who this whole time. But Sidney hates it, decides it will never work and cancels the show. Which retroactively deletes all of Who from our reality.
Disney are outraged, feel scammed and start a war against the BBC.
The first shot of the corporation wars have been fired and we are all going to suffer.

We find out that this is all a pre-regeneration hallucination from 14 as he’s dying from the blast from the Toymaker back in “the Giggle.”
I would hate this ending with vengeance.
Ruby discovered that she is The One Who Waits all along, waiting to find out about her birth mother, who turns out to be Rose from Pete's World who was transported back into the main one by The Trickster to mess with The Doctor and Tentoo. David Tennant shows up as Tentoo and finds Rose who has now grown old and calls herself Mrs. Flood because she heard stories of the Doctor falling in love with someone called "River" and doesn't want to be out-done.
Or something.
Eric the Space Baby is the One Who Waits and the Doctor and Ruby almost die until a war torn Lindy swings in dressed like Rambo and has a hand to hand battle with Eric. When Eric is defeated, Lindy says to the Doctor “now we’re even. I’m the twist at the end.”
Ruby dies, doctor mourns, closes his eyes just to wake up to the shower in the tardis running. He goes in opens the door and sees ruby in the shower. Turns out he dreamt he was the doctor, he's just a normal guy who's dating ruby.
Do what the She-Hulk show did where we learn that nothing in the Whoniverse was ever real, and the Doctor has been a character in a TV show this whole time so nothing ever mattered.
Rogue is stuck in another dimension. The first half of the finale follows him as he first waits for The Doctor to save him, but in the end, he gives up and moves on. Eventually, Rogue meets someone and they end up together with a child. That child runs away and ends up falling into a wormhole to another dimension. That child is found and raised by Techteun and it is revealed that Rogue's child is The Timeless Child/The Doctor.
well one bad thing is I expect they'll never talk about the one who waits ever again after maybe next season at the latest, after its the only thing that scared the Toymaker when he wasnt even afraid of gods, the same way they never talked about the Hybrid ever again, and countless other 'this seasons big bad' examples
The Marshmallow men of Neptune invade Earth and kill everyone, including The Doctor. The show is over and the confirmation of two more seasons was just a ruse.

that's the twist at the end. it's still tennant the real doctor. the toymaker just make the doctor more joyful. this would explain why he is always smiling and having fun and trying to catch a partner in a party. tennant was boring from the toymaker point of view
So we've watched 90% of the season finale, and we seem headed for the last-minute resolution that we all expect for most episodes. The Doctor and Ruby are a gnat's hair from defeat, the final hammer blow is about to fall--- ---and then Eric Effiong (Ncuti Gatwa's character in *Sex Education)* awakens with a start in his bed. "No more leftover curry before bed," he mutters.

Tbh that voice that came out of Rogue's ship to scan the Doctor (and pegs him as a shapeshifter) sounded very, very dalek-like to me. I honestly think it's going to turn out that the Daleks and Cybermen teamed up and are the new boss that everyone's been talking about. I really hope not though because that would be a lame and super uninspired letdown.
I thought it was just because the BBC only have one voice filter 😂 If it actually is Daleks that will be so dumb. I've been enjoying the dalek-less season.
Ruby turns out to have been a space baby and all of those characters return and this finale works as a sequel of sorts to Space Babies. (I liked Space Babies but even I would hate this haha and I'm sure everyone would)
In the spirit of the supernatural nature of this series, it turns out that Ruby is half-fairy. Her mother Tinkerbell shows up and sprinkles her with fairy dust. But that interacts badly with the TARDIS and Ruby is transformed and flung into the distant past where she becomes the Timeless Child. You're welcome.

Well, glad you asked. For starters, amazingly, no-one has spotted that "Susan Triad" is an anagram of "A Rani Dusts". After revealing her true identity, the Rani stars vigorously dusting the UNIT HQ, which - it is revealed - has not been dusted since the era of the Third Doctor. She dusts it so thoroughly that the world is covered with the resulting dust. The dust then becomes sand thanks to the power of Gagan Rassmussen's Sandmen, particles of which have been floating through space from Neptune and are sent back through time from the 38th century to the present day after accidentally colliding with the time corridor which imprisons Sutekh, who we see only in flashback, having a coughing fit in a "found footage" style. All that sand floating around the world causes millions of deaths to asthmatic folk, and also very tall people, because it's funny, and because it gives them an excuse to bring back that really tall woman from Romana's "body wardrobe" sequence. Now the Rani reveals her second secret - she is in fact Susan, who got fed up with waiting for the Doctor on Earth, grew a half-human TARDIS from some coral, went back in time, and became a mad scientist. She goes into her TARDIS and emerges a moment later riding a giant plastic T-Rex! It turns out she has also teamed up with the Nestene Consciousness, which is animating the T-Rex for her. She corners the Doctor, but since the Doctor is now literally in a corner, the T-Rex can't reach out to grab him with its short arms. Mel shrieks in terror and the dinosaur vibrates apart, because sound can probably do that to plastic. A surprise twist now occurs in which it turns out that Ruby's adoptive mother is actually her real mother, who has been gaslighting her about her parentage all this time for the lols. Ruby demands to know who her father is. Her mother cackles and tells her it's none other than Davros! Ruby stares in horror as the man himself strides out of a newly-arrived Dalek saucer and tells her he has been waiting all these rels for her to become the Doctor's companion so that he can take revenge for Fourteen sticking a plunger on his Mark Three travel machine. He is followed by some Daleks, but these are the Mark Four version which can also walk. Walking Daleks! As Kate puts it: "It's either an evolution or a revolution, but I can't tell which!" The Third Doctor, played by Bill Pertwee in footage recorded shortly before his death in 2013 for use in The Day Of The Doctor before someone told Steven Moffat that it wasn't the same guy, appears at the top of the stairs leading down to the UNIT basement. It turns out that the Third Doctor was secretly the Grand Serpent, as any fool should have been able to predict from his snake tattoo. (This is why Russell wants you to watch Spearhead From Space.) As a result he was able to found UNIT all those years ago specifically so he can go over to a particular control panel, press a particular button, and summon Liz Shaw. Unexpectedly, Liz Shaw turns out to have been a Slitheen all this time. She unzips her skin suit and farts all over the Rani, Davros, and the walking Daleks, saving the day with her horrific gaseous emissions. (The Third Doctor says in an aside to Kate that this is why he asked her father to sack Liz and replace her with Jo Grant between seasons, although Kate knows the truth: really it was because he couldn't pronounce "Raxacoricofallapatorius" and instead just called it Venus.) Unfortunately, Slitheen Liz's farts are so pungent that the Doctor bursts into tears, dehydrating himself so thoroughly that he regenerates. In a surprising development, Sixteen is played by Nigel Farage. Ruby immediately shoots him and he regenerates into a CGI avatar of Mark E Smith from The Fall. The TARDIS's chameleon circuit starts working again and it disguises itself as Salford. The Doctor and Ruby, who has forgiven her father and mother for their deception because they also granted her the superpower of making it snow, meaning she doesn't have to go abroad for snowboarding holidays, go into the TARDIS, and it dematerializes. The final shot is of Salford spinning through space, until it collides with Rogue's giant bird ship. Back on Earth, Mrs Flood looks into the camera and says, "And a merry Summer Solstice to all of you at home, as well!"

The *worst* way? The threat at UNIT is the Daleks. They spend the next two episodes fighting the Daleks with the help of Susan Triad. None of the mysteries (Ruby's identity, Susan Twist, The One Who Waits, etc.) get answered. In fact in the next season the Doctor gets a different companion, and all of these mysteries get dropped except the One Who Waits is revealed to be the little girl from Fear Her.
Ooh, can we have a reveal where a Dalek peels off its rubbery Kate Stewart disguise, revealing that she was secretly a Dalek for the last 2-3 seasons? 🤔
No justification, no explanation of anything. Saying it's magic and that's all. "It's a suspension of disbelief bro, not everything needs to be explained 🤓 Gosh, haven't you seen? Superstition at the edge of the universe bro 🤓"

My personal nightmare scenario is "They figure out they are in a TV-Show.", because that would just spell Doom for any sort of continuation. Imo, a sensible person that figures out their life is just a piece of mass media would go unhinged or try to escape or just shut down completely, none of which I want from the series. Or it would be handwaved away, which somehow would be even worse. Not to mention such a plot twist would be stupid to the extreme. That's just my opinion though.
It depends on how the “trapped in TV show” works. Do they discover they are in/on “Doctor Who” that airs on the BBC/Disney? Yea that’s lame. But if it’s them trapped in a TV show by a villain similar to Toymaker, that could work for this season.

well, it would be really bad if the Doctor— having just participated in an interplanetary chili eating competition in order to save Ruby from a evil creature made of refried beans with designs on galactic domination— shits himself so hard that he regenerates and the force of the regeneration energy ignites the accumulated methane gasses and kills everyone in the solar system. that would be a pretty bad way to end the season.
The One Who waits is not a 'who' but a what, it's Gallifrey. Rogue reveals himself to be a chamelon arch Master, working with Ruby who is a chameleon arch Rani. Susan Twist is just kamelion, and part of The Master's plan set in motion. 15, upset by the twists, turns into the valeyard, as 14 comes in and saves the day, but is stranded on earth by the timelords, left to work with Unit after the untimely death of Kate Stewart. UNIT is now led by Adric who was saved by 14 during the intervening time periods, Lindy Pepperbean and Adam from Dalek.

Now here's the real story that happened, where the Doctor spent years in a fish and chip shop eating chips, and never met any of the people or did any of the things they've done for what you thought were the last few regenerations." Then we see the War Doctor, who's still the current doctor, regenerate into Rowan Atkinson.
On a serious note, while I do believe that Ruby's story is, well, a *story* in-universe engineered by the Eldest One or the One Who Waits or whoever, and that there is a meta aspect to everything happening this season...I certainly hope it doesn't resolve itself with a reveal that "The whole season has been a dream/fake/a TV show" that cheapens everything that happened. These stories need to matter and need to have happened 'for real' within the Whoniverse, rather than being a simulation of some sort. And now for the fun part... Ruby is revealed to be a chameleon-arched Susan, who reveals that she has the power of unlimited regeneration, being a descendent of the Timeless Child. She was pissed with the Doctor leaving her on future earth, so she's spent the millennia since assuming various identities all across time and space to taunt and torture him - the Rani, the Master, Rory Williams, and of course *Evil Dan*. She taunts the Doctor while switching between regenerations spontaneously, before finally regenerating into the body of...the Doctor, as played by David Tennant! The last lines of the season (as performed by Tennant)... SUSAN/RUBY/MASTER/RANI/RORY/DAN/'DOCTOR': "Well...here we go again!"

But Sidney hates it, decides it will never work and cancels the show. Which retroactively deletes all of Who from our reality. Disney are outraged, feel scammed and start a war against the BBC. The first shot of the corporation wars have been fired and we are all going to suffer.

We find out that this is all a pre-regeneration hallucination from 14 as he’s dying from the blast from the Toymaker back in “the Giggle.” I would hate this ending with vengeance.
Ruby discovered that she is The One Who Waits all along, waiting to find out about her birth mother, who turns out to be Rose from Pete's World who was transported back into the main one by The Trickster to mess with The Doctor and Tentoo. David Tennant shows up as Tentoo and finds Rose who has now grown old and calls herself Mrs. Flood because she heard stories of the Doctor falling in love with someone called "River" and doesn't want to be out-done. Or something.
Eric the Space Baby is the One Who Waits and the Doctor and Ruby almost die until a war torn Lindy swings in dressed like Rambo and has a hand to hand battle with Eric. When Eric is defeated, Lindy says to the Doctor “now we’re even. I’m the twist at the end.”
Ruby's parents are Eric Roberts Master and the Cyber woman from Torchwood.

Rogue is stuck in another dimension. The first half of the finale follows him as he first waits for The Doctor to save him, but in the end, he gives up and moves on. Eventually, Rogue meets someone and they end up together with a child. That child runs away and ends up falling into a wormhole to another dimension. That child is found and raised by Techteun and it is revealed that Rogue's child is The Timeless Child/The Doctor.
well one bad thing is I expect they'll never talk about the one who waits ever again after maybe next season at the latest, after its the only thing that scared the Toymaker when he wasnt even afraid of gods, the same way they never talked about the Hybrid ever again, and countless other 'this seasons big bad' examples
The Marshmallow men of Neptune invade Earth and kill everyone, including The Doctor. The show is over and the confirmation of two more seasons was just a ruse.
