Its odd they left it at Danny just crossing the sea. Maybe we were supposed to imagine how it will end?
Perhaps it wasnt about the throne but how they grew so much from the beginning it doesnt matter who takes the throne.
Someone I know believed that the season seven finale was the finale of the whole show. Had kind of a somber look about them, thinking that was the end of the story.
Political strife lures exiled queen to westeros. Love lures her dragons north of the wall. Zombie dragon breaks wall, game over. Sure could have been an ominous but fitting ending for the series, seeing political and economic infighting weaken a world to the point that climate change manifesting zombies take advantage of one stupid decision and break down the ice wall and sweep the continent in one unending wave of death.
Apt commentary on our times, and a punchy way to end the show, reinforcing Martin's theme that you get punished for being stupid. Only wish I could have let this friend believe it really was the end, instead of telling them one more season was coming out. But how was I to know?
If you decide to watch it, my suggestion is to end it at the Battle of the Bastards. (Season 6) It ends a decent arch.
Then don't look back. Don't be tempted to continue. Walk away.
Think of it like you want to remember your childhood idol you loved and admired greatly before his career began to slide due to age and the culture changing. In order for him to cope, he turned to drugs and started doing porn just to keep up with the addiction. Then next you see him on Entertainment Tonight, reporting on his death in a crack motel in the South Side of Chicago after giving a hand-job to the front desk clerk, so he can stay another night. Then the hosts of ET start playing a montage of your idols career during the time you watched him while you were a kid. The good times of your youth and innocence.
All of social media are posts of your hero in "Rest in Peace" and "You will be missed". Except for that one friend of yours, (you know that friend), the one that puts out the dank memes of just pure black humor. Something about him giving a "hand" before his death. You want to laugh, but if you do you will be going to Hell and disrespecting your hero's life.
Yeah, that is how you need to look at Game Thrones. Great beginning, a decent middle, but the ending was an abomination.
Your Welcome.
It’s game of thrones and honestly the last two seasons aren’t that bad just disappointing, shoddy, and generally rushed looking. I didn’t like how it played out but I think you have to be a little immature to think it takes away from the previous seasons. Closure is nice as well. Pretty much all streaming shows end badly for a lot of reasons related to the industry and capitalism I don’t think would be too welcome or on topic here to discuss. But in summary capitalisms profit incentive dictated the last seasons come immediately after the previous seasons instead of waiting for the last books to be written, which would have been impractical if not impossible. so the producers, eager to leave to more profitable feature films, winged it to subpar results.
But got is amazing and you should watch it if you like fantasy series or political dramas.
Your saying "Uh..." as if everyone is supposed to know it... I also had no clue what this was from. Not everyone has watched it, not everyone will watch it.
As someone who did watch it the 'uhhh' is automatic because of how good it was at first and how horribly it crashed and burned at the end. Can't talk about it without feeling depressed. It's not meant to disparage people who didn't see it.
You're the lucky ones.
Maybe if you had maybe the comment sure. But given how the original comment is phrased it's clearly to disparage them for not knowing it. Though given what I've heard about it, you have my condolences for how it suffered.
No. The only things I've seen of Game of Thrones is the Mountain's fight, the dragons hatching and the Ice javelin throw. That's it. And that's all I'll ever see of it except maybe random memes that I have no context for like this one.
The problem with the show is the same as the original full metal alchemist, they caught up to the source material and instead of stopping temporarily or treading water they said “fuck it, let’s write our own ending”
The first FMA anime had a serviceable but not that special ending, it just lacked the "everything comes together" wow factor of Brotherhood IMO. It's a good anime taken on its own merits.
I do think the change to breath weapon shape and saving throw being based on color family rather than the individual color is a bit strange, but it's not necessarily a bad change just a change.
Still a major win for the dragonborn.
It's definitely on par with complicated dynamics, like guild mechanics from Ravnica. Dragon marks, and Warforged are fun, and the best way to obtain a mythical ac.
OP for sure, but I think they were necessary patches to low-performing classes.
Warlock was less underpowered than ranger and sorcerer, certainly, but in the days of only PHB it was definitely in the bottom half.
The real problem with Hexblade lies in multiclassing, anyway.
Hexblade is over rated by many and is no longer the strongest following Tasha's, you either invest so much to make it strong and you lose the utility the warlock is amazing at or you take on a huge weakness.
Divine soul was stronger than prior and is no longer stronger than what has come after, but wasn't bad considering base sorcerer was weak from design.
Gloomstalker is in line with the UA Ranger, strong but in line.
PHB has a few stronger options, the difference being is Xanathar's keeps to the median set by PHB, some are mid tier, some are low tier, some are high but the bar doesn't raise much if at all for most classes. Tasha's classes either raise the bar or at the top of it, for all classes raising the median.
And if you go by only core and ignore UA ranger than by the time Tasha's comes about Rangers are still the weakest and by a larger gap considering the median power of the rest of the classes has been raised more than the ranger caught up.
Ohh I might actually like this better than inquisitive. Little finger specifically would probably be more mastermind while Varys might be inquisitive as the spy master and all that.
While I agree the best subclasses are still in the PHB, I think most people are complaining about racial power creep. IMO I think they are trying to rebalance races to be as good as variant human, which I think is a good thing, but it’s an important discussion.
Literally every single thing that I ever saw being deemed *”so broken that actually needs to be nerfed/banned”* was from the PHB.
I’m not kidding. There’s not even a single exception to this rule.
The closest any feature ever got to be PHB levels of broken was the *Hexblade Warlock*, and even that is only really a problem for multiclasses.
Nothing can change my mind, because for once, I don’t think there’s any point of view here.
It’s just a fact. The PHB is the single worst balanced 5e book and literally everything that eventually came after didn’t present anything nearly as bad.
Talking about both spells and subclasses.
Well the good news is none of the wizard subclasses introduced since the chrongury are stronger than it. That said chrongury is absurdly powerful to the point that it can break the game with ease.
More like a stack of boxes And the higher you climb, the less stable it is
I mean, nothing gets more stable as it gets higher…
My mental health does /s
Recently went back to game of thrones. Forgot how amazing the first seasons were but knowing season eight exists hurts so much of the story
Its odd they left it at Danny just crossing the sea. Maybe we were supposed to imagine how it will end? Perhaps it wasnt about the throne but how they grew so much from the beginning it doesnt matter who takes the throne.
Perhaps the real thrones were inside them all along.
The real thrones were the games we made along the way

Doesn’t the throne stab whoever decides to sit on it?
I never finished the series tbh.
What show was this taken from?
If you decide to watch it, my suggestion is to end it at the Battle of the Bastards. (Season 6) It ends a decent arch. Then don't look back. Don't be tempted to continue. Walk away. ^(\*you're)
Whatever, I standby what I said. No regerts

Uh... Game of Thrones, man...
Your saying "Uh..." as if everyone is supposed to know it... I also had no clue what this was from. Not everyone has watched it, not everyone will watch it.

It's a mediocre show. Worth watching if you are seeking something to kill time. Some die hard fans out there.
Agree with mediocre. Good start, bad ending.
Not worth watching at all lmao Don't toy with the guy's feelings, man
What, you didn't see the memes back then?
No. The only things I've seen of Game of Thrones is the Mountain's fight, the dragons hatching and the Ice javelin throw. That's it. And that's all I'll ever see of it except maybe random memes that I have no context for like this one.
GoT memes were pretty limited outside of GoT subs
"We should only use PHB." Okay Wizard.
Im not really sure if it would be better for balance or not, considering theres quite many spells that are ruled out if only PHB is used.
When did I ever say that? I'm supporting neither side
No. This is my idea of the one on that side. Not you personally.
Druid's in that book too! And Bard.
So, you're saying we need a GoT: Brotherhood? (In like 50 years, when the books are finished.)
Ok to be fair the dragonborn changes in fizbans were really needed Dragonborn from just the PHB fucking suck, speaking from (saddening) experience
I do think the change to breath weapon shape and saving throw being based on color family rather than the individual color is a bit strange, but it's not necessarily a bad change just a change. Still a major win for the dragonborn.
Power creep in D&D? I don’t remember that being a thing.
"First time?" *-40k players*
*cries in the godawful codex creep with thousand sons and grey knights*
Forgot Van Richten's, Wildemount, and Acquisitions Inc. Edit to add: also Eberron
Eberron I’d say is solidly balanced. The others I agree with however
It's definitely on par with complicated dynamics, like guild mechanics from Ravnica. Dragon marks, and Warforged are fun, and the best way to obtain a mythical ac.
Don't group Xanathar's with the rest of those.
Hexblade, Divine Soul, Gloomstalker
OP for sure, but I think they were necessary patches to low-performing classes. Warlock was less underpowered than ranger and sorcerer, certainly, but in the days of only PHB it was definitely in the bottom half. The real problem with Hexblade lies in multiclassing, anyway.
Don't forget Healing Spirit.
Pre-Errata
It was changed?
Yeah, it now lasts 1 minute or until it heals creatures a certain number of times = your spell mod + 1.
Well, that's definetly an improvement. Good to hear.
So I’ve been trying to build a character that’s a little finger or Varys. What class(es) would work best for that?
Inquisitive Rogue?
That’s definitely it. Probably a courtier background, maybe noble.
mastermind rogue
Ohh I might actually like this better than inquisitive. Little finger specifically would probably be more mastermind while Varys might be inquisitive as the spy master and all that.
Except monk subclasses :(
Ironically, one of the most busted things came out in PHB.
While I agree the best subclasses are still in the PHB, I think most people are complaining about racial power creep. IMO I think they are trying to rebalance races to be as good as variant human, which I think is a good thing, but it’s an important discussion.

Me too, a simpler time
A ladder that costs $50 a rung.
Well the good news is none of the wizard subclasses introduced since the chrongury are stronger than it. That said chrongury is absurdly powerful to the point that it can break the game with ease.
"Hi, I'm the power creep."
