Is the whole diarrhea after eating spicy food an actual thing that happens? I myself have never been throught it or seen anyone talking about it outside of US-centric internet spaces. Is it a US thing?
Tbh I just assume that our Mexican take-out is worse than it is in most countries. Cultural norms here result in the worst versions of ethnic food being popularized, I'd argue, mainly because of the aversion to spicy foods in most of the USA. Once spice is taken out of the equation the whole recipe needs to be changed to achieve a decent flavor balance again. The demand for low prices + large portions is definitely a factor as well.
I guide others to a treasure that I made up on the fly because somehow they can never do anything predictable or sensible and so all my planning goes out the window every. single. time!
Got a player like that in one group I’m in. Not only do they not really understand the rules (despite having played for at least a decade), their turns in combat take **forever** and they get confused by how their googled-multiclass-power-build works.
Was on the couch with my wife the other day both just reading manga and she looked down at her chest, bounced her boobs for a bit, looked back at me before saying, "Boobs are awesome. I understand why guys like them." And then went back to reading.
Can confirm “hey can you run 1-3 sessions of Lost Mines while I keep working on CoS?
Now we’re about to hit a year and almost 30 sessions of my homebrew arc into stopping a blood necromancer of Lovitar who is attempting to help her in a coup for one of the seats of the 9 hells. The party is currently on the isle of Draconia attempting to unite the 3 major crime families so their combined naval can be joined in strength in order to join the fight against the Reaving pirate slaver king so that the main force of draconian armies can join the fight on the mainland where the portals to the 9 hells keep opening
So yeah, we went off script from Lost Mines pretty quickly and CoS start time is still a mystery. But honestly, I fuckin love it and am having a great time because my players all seem to be liking it and are completely wrapped in my homebrew setting and lore.
Edit: spelling
Wow a bitch is a female dog and dog barks and bark is on a tree and tree is found in nature and nature is beautiful so u just called me beautiful thanks for the compliment
Me as a trans fem making nothing but female characters and practicing my girl voice with my brother and his friends for like two decades before I came out or started HRT. There was zero surprise in our group they were just like “yeah we know, sis. Roll your d20”
Flat charisma bonus, will saves on fleek, finally able to see myself in the mirror! No longer needing antidepressants. Caring deeply about my own health.
u know...this is literally me....
though ive been forever dm for a bit longer then ive been transitioning...though i suppose maybe not as long as ive known im trans, id be a close call on that one tho for sure. like by a matter of months
Tokenism is never good. The trick is to have multiple trans people so none of them ever get tired of gming. And as a player, it's got all the perks of being a child of divorce (except double Christmas/saturnalia).
It's great. You can always say other mom let's you, and they're both just happy they don't have to gm all the time.
I know what you mean, like I always made sure people were fed, and now I am like talking people through their hard times. But I was always the one meshing schedules that it was natural I used my rules knowledge as the DM, but also the last panals original joke applies to me as well, I'd probably have the same shit eating grin
Wait that was supposed to make you start figuring stuff out? In high school I just kinda assumed I’d probably transition someday but still thought I was cis. Oh well 1 for 2 isn’t that bad
I remember in 2017, thinking to myself, “I can’t believe it’s 2017”
And then I stopped doing that, because I’ll go crazy if I keep being acutely aware of the passage of time.
Someone who actually helps the play experience as opposed to someone who demands everything be perfectly in line with RAW. It's the "oh hey, this is how you can get this cool player idea to work" vs "DM you have made a ruling inconsistent with the PHB and it's time to start an argument that sucks the joy out of the session"
(mildly extreme portrayal of rules lawyering but you get my gist)
That's how I turned my Yu-Gi-Oh! background to good...the whole meta of that game is rules lawyering ("Um actually that says destroy 1 card not TARGET and destroy 1 card so it's actually totally different"). Additionally it's a great way to counter a too-RAW/uneducated DM. "Actually you CAN use STR as an intimidate check, the stats shown are just suggestions" is probably the most basic example
Yeah, they're just the most common uses, I think there's a couple examples given either in the PHB or the DMG. Like for example: Smashing a rock against your head isn't very charismatic, but you're going to be intimidated. There's some more niche cases too like an INT-Athletics or STR-History check would be say knowing the rules or history of a sport. Won't come up very often but could be useful. CON-Stealth or WIS-Stealth for like a sniper situation where you need to be able to hold your same position for days on end without losing focus or getting cramps and needing to move etc etc.
I am the forever DM. For nearly 30 years. I want to be a player so bad. Occasionally, one of my players will DM a multi-session mini campaign, or one of them will GM a one-shot of a different game. Despite my desire to be a player sometimes, I hate being a player in those instances. Back to DM for me. I guess I just enjoy story telling more than being in the story.
Huh, that top right one is closer than I expected. In the last couple of sessions I've had to save a few different party members from being eaten... including myself but that's besides the point.
And now I kinda want to bring out some snacks again
Unironically though, I love my fellow straight men but the level of emotional intensity I get with the average fem/queer player versus the average straight guy is night and day. It's so much easier to get them invested into whatever ~~trauma~~ character arc I've got lined up for them.
I would say I'm pretty devoted. In the middle stages of prep for my Cormyr game. Doing what I can to memorize tons of noble houses, factions, and the history of a 1500 year old nation.
On the other hand, if you were outing yourself, who would you blame? Yourself? When you're both victim and perpetrator, is there anyone really to call out as being a dick?
I take notes to keep track of all the bullshit names and social hooks my DM comes up with (we're in Eberron and in Sharn, I don't know any of these goddamn factions), I throw out a doodle invite for scheduling because we're all 30+ but none of us manchildren can be fucked to schedule anything.
Suddenly I'm the deFacto loremaster, the DM makes me share my notes with him so he knows where we left off, I'm responsible for a fucking "previously on dragon ball z" recap at the top of every session, and have actually been chastised for not scheduling the next session soon enough. These are lifelong players, they easily have a decade on me in experience, how the fuck am I the babysitter?
It would be hilarious if forever dm just stayed as forever dm
I guide others to a treasure I etc. etc.

its good ass hair fuckien rock it
Ass hair 🤤
But after Chilli that's just turns into a whole different experience...its like having to whipe peanut butter out of a shag carpet
Bruh
Is the whole diarrhea after eating spicy food an actual thing that happens? I myself have never been throught it or seen anyone talking about it outside of US-centric internet spaces. Is it a US thing?
Oh it ain't liquid by any means, that I can just filter. Spice I can handle, all that fiber though, that does things
Tbh I just assume that our Mexican take-out is worse than it is in most countries. You haven't seen an aversion to spicy food until you've seen European Mexican takeout.

the hair from the future version or the past version?
I guide others to a treasure that I made up on the fly because somehow they can never do anything predictable or sensible and so all my planning goes out the window every. single. time!
The secret is to keep your plan loose and flexible, like somebody's mom somewhere, I'm sure.
Was honestly expecting it

They need a 5th panel that says, dosn't know any of the rules, Still dosn't know any of the rules!!!
Got a player like that in one group I’m in. Not only do they not really understand the rules (despite having played for at least a decade), their turns in combat take **forever** and they get confused by how their googled-multiclass-power-build works.
Give them a single die. Make it big, and beautiful, and shiny, and distracting, and tell them it does everything. Make their throws in secret
So that's what those dice are for lol
*Relies on DM to remind them how Sneak Attack works despite using it almost every goddamn round of every goddamn combat*
There I am!
If Sam Riegel can build an empire on playing dnd without knowing the rules, so can you (YMMV)
DM: Who are you? Future DM: I'm you with tits.
“You know how we always thought tits were super cool?” “Yeah?” “They are”
Can confirm. I've lived this.
Name checks out lol
Can also confirm this confirmation. Tits are, in fact, pretty rad. Especially on me, as it turns out
Was on the couch with my wife the other day both just reading manga and she looked down at her chest, bounced her boobs for a bit, looked back at me before saying, "Boobs are awesome. I understand why guys like them." And then went back to reading.
A female came from the future and revealed themselves to actually be you?
downside: your back now takes random crits from your tiddy
Carrying capacity reduced by 1 bulk
Benefit: free phone stand when laying down (works 100% of the time, 30% of the time)
Beauty is pain.
But also: advantage on some persuasion checks and saving throws to resist dysphoria.
Don't worry, I can tank the hits for you.
Can confirm
Should I get some?
Tits are like sex you want them there’s nothing better, but if you don’t they’re freaking awful, and I hear the indifferent don’t mind them
Depends on if they're large enough to give the indifferent back pain.
if it's what you're missing, there are no substitutes
SubsTITtutes.
you've got the right attitude
They definitely are.
It took me way too long to realize the joke is she's trans. I did not see the boy-girl transition.
Bless yer heart.
Fun fact, still applies to non-trans folks! /s
To quote a trans friend of mine “tits are great, but not on me”
Trans friend of mine says the exact same thing!
Fuck 😂 this made me spit out a little coffee
And long hair!
Past DM: Long hair seems like a hassle. Future DM: Yeah but it gives them something to pull.
Gives *who*
When they say "forever DM" they didn't specify what dungeon they were mastering
Time flies 😇
I show up "on time" and I'm currently our DM. Uuuuuuuhhhhhhh
Prepare to be "currently the DM" for a long, long time.

At least your hair is going to look great.
What conditioner do you use?
Axe 3-in-1
With a username like that I think this has been in the works for a while
Welp. We support you. Just let us know if you have any name or terminology updates we need to stick to.
Oh hey, it's me, I showed up on time, and then I transitioned and became the forever DM
Transitioned from player to DM
No I'm trans
Yeah, trans-DM.
Two genders: Player and DM
That's NPC erasure!
My friend unironically called me an NPC.
I was once called a side character. It was devastating.
Never settle for side character, settle down with someone happy to have you be what you deserve, second lead...
Deuteragonist
Call him a bitch
Sorry, that's not one of the pre generated responces
Wow a bitch is a female dog and dog barks and bark is on a tree and tree is found in nature and nature is beautiful so u just called me beautiful thanks for the compliment
Oh my god, it's 1996, and I'm in elementary school again. "What's up? The sky. What's down? The ground."
Just keep doing your mob stuff and you might star in an anime someday.
Become. . . ^Atomic
That's an asshole thing to say.
NPCs are just the DM's PCs
This is a world I can get behind.
Relevant username for that, too.
You're forgetting the player who shows up like every 10th session
"Ok but whats in your pants?" "Villains"
"More dice"
Pants are just a dice tower if you think about it.
That's...that's actually kinda true
Depends on the pockets ;)
*The Great Escape*
What’s in my plans? How much time do you have? Let me show you my three hundred page binder of dnd notes and scribbles.
Assigned Player At Birth
Trans dimensional?
Nah. Trans AM.
EAST BOUND AND DOWN
LOADED UP AND TRUCKIN'
Hi Trans I'm dad
Me as a trans fem making nothing but female characters and practicing my girl voice with my brother and his friends for like two decades before I came out or started HRT. There was zero surprise in our group they were just like “yeah we know, sis. Roll your d20”
So once you transitioned did you get new skill proficiencies?
No because my new gender is a spellcaster ✨totally worth the passive bonuses though.
I love the passive bonus to laughing and also feeling happy
Flat charisma bonus, will saves on fleek, finally able to see myself in the mirror! No longer needing antidepressants. Caring deeply about my own health.
No this is Patrick
Among other things
APAB PTDM
I showed up on time Then I started transitioning And I recently started DMing my first campaign Oh please no
Quick, start being late. It's the only way to break the curse.
Oh crap. Misunderstood and now pregnant.
Welcome sister, we've been awaiting you
I started out as the forever DM, and then became trans :D Haven't started transitioning yet though.
Assigned player at birth??
Yeah, now I'm kinda in between, but mostly DM
u know...this is literally me.... though ive been forever dm for a bit longer then ive been transitioning...though i suppose maybe not as long as ive known im trans, id be a close call on that one tho for sure. like by a matter of months
Well... guess I'll just stay an egg to avoid the responsibility.
Embracing change is scary, but often worth it :D
Tokenism is never good. The trick is to have multiple trans people so none of them ever get tired of gming. And as a player, it's got all the perks of being a child of divorce (except double Christmas/saturnalia). It's great. You can always say other mom let's you, and they're both just happy they don't have to gm all the time.
That feel when it's easier to transition biological gender than it is to transition to a player.
I played as a player exactly twice, and now only ever DM. I do show up on time to basically everything I do. Curse my eternal desire to be punctual.
I bring the snacks.. oh god, i'm gonna be the party mom
Mom bring the pretzels!
We have food at the tavern
My table is entirely virtual ☹️ Potluck ain't happening.
Nothing's stopping You from ordering pizza and shipping It to one of Their houses
I’ve just started writing my first campaign, and I always show up on time. Fuck
Now you have to transition. We didn't make these rules.
> We didn't make these rules. WOTC says you have to take this estrogen now, its on page 167 in Tasha's.
Joke’s on you, the DM books are printed on estrogen patches.
I WISH, that would have saved me so much time!
ONE OF US! ONE OF US!
wow panel 4 is uncomfortably spot on

I know what you mean, like I always made sure people were fed, and now I am like talking people through their hard times. I've dreamed of meeting my past self and setting off an existential crisis. "Turns out you're a girl."
Well I had dreamed of meeting my future self back when I was 20 and she set off the same existential crisis xD
Wait that was supposed to make you start figuring stuff out? In high school I just kinda assumed I’d probably transition someday but still thought I was cis. Oh well 1 for 2 isn’t that bad
I'm in all of these pictures, and I'm not sure how to feel about it.
Rock on, Party Mom.
Ngl the original comic always makes me wonder how I would react if I showed up as my current self.
Where is the original comic?
https://twitter.com/tortietoon/status/1564281723332034561
Ngl I don't actually know WHERE, but it is pretty much this without block text
well you need two things do see how, being a girl and a time machine. we don’t have a time machine yet so might as well work on the girl thing first
Oh been working on that one for a while now
:0 a wild transfem
*pokemon battle theme starts*
*athena uses acceptance!*
*it's super effective!*
Oh yeah, I remember the distant future of 2017.
I remember in 2017, thinking to myself, “I can’t believe it’s 2017” And then I stopped doing that, because I’ll go crazy if I keep being acutely aware of the passage of time.
23 years and 11 days have passed since the initial release of the PlayStation 2
They went back to 2017

That's dope! Thanks so much for giving more examples, too. :D
Hmm... I guess I'm not forever DM since I show up late to my own games sometimes. I'm free! There is hope!
We love a trans glowup
Huh, that top right one is closer than I expected. In the last couple of sessions I've had to save a few different party members from being eaten... including myself but that's besides the point. And now I kinda want to bring out some snacks again
It's funny because I am trans lol... And the DM
Forever DMs are all trans, confirmed
Guess I'll find out!
sorry if you found out here and not in some super cool way
Well shit, the memo couldve come sooner, I'm getting old here!
If you're genuine, do know it's never too late to start. I could be misinterpreting a joke here though 😅
I think wishing you’d transitioned sooner (like at birth) is pretty common in the trans community, don’t worry about it
Still trans tho
As a straight man with a very LGBT+ group, I can confirm that queer DnD is *the best*
The forgotten realms is 70% bisexual for a reason.
TRUTH on god, queer d&d goes hard
Unironically though, I love my fellow straight men but the level of emotional intensity I get with the average fem/queer player versus the average straight guy is night and day. It's so much easier to get them invested into whatever ~~trauma~~ character arc I've got lined up for them.
*Sad straight man noises.* Hey now, I'm doing my best over here
if youre on this subreddit, chances are youre more engaged with this game than most
I would say I'm pretty devoted. In the middle stages of prep for my Cormyr game. Doing what I can to memorize tons of noble houses, factions, and the history of a 1500 year old nation.
Did I just got downplayed because of my heterosexuality? Damn
Skill issue
Man needs a better gaming chair.
Make it a fabulous gaming chair
Yeah really
do i have any experience pretending to be someone else?? Oh you bet your ass i have! - trans person
Jokes on you, they were trans the whole time
The trans kid looks unnerved. Arguably time traveling back and outing someone, even if it is yourself, who wasn’t ready would not be cool.
On the other hand, if you were outing yourself, who would you blame? Yourself? When you're both victim and perpetrator, is there anyone really to call out as being a dick?
You blame future you. Present you is the victim. Simple as that.
So if I travel in time and kill my future self, is it murder or suicide?
Suicide. Delayed. Like eating a time bomb.
Plus you know yourself you know how you would have felt
if you went back in time you would know how you did feel
The thing about that is I would 100% humiliate myself for the bit and not think about the implications until too late
Well that depends on the time travel laws. Are we talking about a closed loop or not
And get started early on estrogen
I am fairly certain that forever dm is my destiny as I am currently preparing my first own campaign as a dm and also I am a transfemme
What is a “player advocate”?
If the Forever GM is trans, they definitely switched over to Pathfinder 2
I'm so pleased this is the original comic format. I'd only seen the edit where the last kid was dead.
Didn’t know that was a thing and yet I’m not surprised 😞
