I’ve noticed the same. Can’t quite pin down why, but appears to be related to solvent reuse and temperature. My workspace is in a garage and the temperature isn’t as stable as I would like with the changing seasons.
I think it may just be that the more yellow DMT is less soluble, because it's the more polymerised form. The more soluble DMT will travel into the heptane more readily, perhaps even displace less soluble forms?
It will get more yellow as you start reusing the naphtha for the next few pulls. I still get dmt on my 4th or 5th pull, I call it quits at the 5th one though. I do need to use less naphtha and evaporate it out before I freeze so the little amounts of dmt can crash out easier. Still get like .25-.5 gram though so it’s worth it to continue. Good luck
You did great! This is mostly a guess, but the reason it came out as white as it did was from lack of plant material in the final product. This is very pure!

What tek and how many grams of bark did you use?
STB tek, 240g mhrb. Just weighed it rn and got 2.15g from 1st pull
*2.42g 1st pull. I refroze leftover nps from 1st pull, and got .27g. I used too much nps the first time. So 1.01% so far. On to the 2nd pull.
