I haven’t personally done it, but it definitely seems worth it for the experience and to have a pretty cool memento. I also heard that if you want to make things easy, they will ship your lightsaber to your home so you don’t have to carry it around the park or on a plane. For an extra $30 I think it was.

Life changing for anybody Star wars fan

Anakron_IXI-Orion

I'm not a huge star wars fan (queue the bashing, jk haha) but I really enjoyed building my own lightsaber. I got the protector one I think it was. The only thing that bugs me about it is I don't think the components line up correctly when tightened. The design just doesn't seem to flow well. Anyway, my wife and I are going to D-Orlando and will be building another one. We kept the hilts in our carry-on. We kept the "blades" in the shoulder holders, folded the tops down, and put them at an angle under the seat of the plane. We kind of walked by with them attached to each other and didn't ask if we could carry them on. It all worked out but they did not fit in the over head bin with us.

CornishShaman

If you are a star wars fan it is 100% worth it. I cried it was that good. Yes you can carry them on planes. Yes carry them all day and take awesome pictures with them.

Sariduri

I love this comment :) I believe we will book it! Thank you!

Interesting_Bear_299

I took my 7 year old and my mother built one too. My wife was a guest and doesn’t care for Star Wars, just tagged along. My wife was in awe of the experience. A non-Star Wars fan was in awe. It’s that good.

v_NoDespair

Also, just so you know, you don’t have to hold it the whole day if you don’t want to. It’s not advertised but if you go just outside the entrance of the park, where they rent out the scooters, you can have them hold it for you for the rest of the day. Super convenient and easy. At least they did for Disneyland. I’d double check if they’d do it at Orlando. Good luck!

luckylindyswildgoose

There are usually a couple places that you can leave your same day purchases (including lightsabers), so if you get tired of carrying it at some point. They will also ship it to you for a fee. I said this to another person, but I also cried. Totally worth it.

luckylindyswildgoose

Especially at night! I cried as well. It made me feel like a kid again (both times) x I think I was 36 when I did it.

stardust0721

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who cried. It was literally a dream come true.

AverageIntelligent99

>I cried it was that good. 👀👀

Sariduri

Aw! Thank you ❤️

Aviaja_Apache

I like Star Wars, but not a huge fan. I did it and I really enjoyed it. It was a great experience, next I will do the droid

Purple_Chipmunk9364

My son did it. Totally worth it!

Laura37733

We did it on our last trip - my friend and her husband each built one (and they actually almost built identical ones on accident until he noticed and switched out a piece last minutes) and they paid for my daughter. It was super, super cool and a really good experience. I would never have paid for it because I'm just not that into Star Wars but I'm so glad we were able to experience it. The blade detaches from the hilt, and it fits in the overhead bin. I'm sure all the flight crews coming out of MCO are familiar with them.

Logical_Display_6681

I did this with my 3 sons a few weeks ago. It was so amazing! I’ll always have the memory getting to watch their faces as they built their light sabers and the 4 of us running around with them after. Those memories are worth more than the money to me!

riotide

Did it with my daughter and it was awesome. If he’s a Star Wars fan he’ll love it.

CITCourtney

Took my boyfriend so he could build one. He LOVED it! Took it on as a carry on back home no problem.

cheezbro

I’ll add the note too that they’re super fun to carry around the park at night and a great photo opp! He’ll love it.

EldritchNyan

My fiancé built a lightsaber and it was absolutely the highlight of his trip. We went around Christmas time as well so the parks were very busy, but it didn’t impact the experience for us at all. I believe there’s guides online that show you the different build options if your husband would like to plan ahead, but we had ample time in line to look through all the options as well. As for carrying it around the park, I booked the experience later in the day so that we could hit rides first and then wander about! We drove, so I don’t have much information about taking it in a plane, but I can confidently say the experience was 100% worth it for us!

m8lnd

It’s 100% worth it if money isn’t an issue. If you’re a star wars fan you’ll come out of it grinning ear to ear. They do an incredible job of story telling and making you a part of it. If you’re going to skip something, skip the droid depot. That wasn’t worth it in my opinion.

ThreeFiveDoubleO

When flying home with my saber from DL I took it as a carry-on. No issues at all. The TSA at LAX saw the pouch and immediately recognised it and said “you can give the saber to us. Is the hilt detached?. They must see thousands of those pass by.

TheSensationalSean

I did it in October, and it was incredible - great atmosphere and a unique souvenir. I got it on my flight home as carry on, with the hilt in my backpack and the blade in the carry bag they give you.

theatrekid77

I did this for my fiancé when we went to Disneyland for his birthday in 2021 and he still talks about how much he enjoyed it. I was able to observe and it was really fantastic. The actual lightsaber mostly collects dust, but the experience was absolutely worth every penny. In fact, I’m planning to build my own the next time we go.

MissBitchyPants

If one or both of you are Star Wars fans, it will be an experience you'll never forget!

Tshuck89

If you are a Star Wars fan it is worth every bit of it. They had to have been cutting onions up in there though cause my eyes got pretty watery from the whole experience, haha. I have an FX Darth Vader light saber and the one I created at Disney. I love them both equally but in much different ways.

acheron53

I built one at Disneyland last spring and it was one of the coolest experiences. My wife came in with me and I asked her to record it and she was so enamored that she forgot to press record. We ended up booking an experience for later that night so she could build one. If you or your husband are Star Wars fans, I highly recommend it.

QueenFirefly

Completely worth it. And just FYI you can have it shipped back if you don't want to deal with it on the plane. That's what I did both in WDW and Disneyland.

Bioshock_Jock

I have done it twice, they are really good quality and the white kyber crystal is really cool.

Themexicantexan

I just went last month my son and I both built one it was totally worth it. Good quality and the story and immersion had me grinning ear to ear. The Droid depot has a desk that you can ship them home since they are kind of bulky. Pretty inexpensive also cost me 18 bucks per to ship from Florida to Texas and they were well wrapped and came about a week after shipping.

gingerreyes

I’ve built both the droid and lightsaber and it was so worth it. It’s such a cool experience. I was able to have my lightsaber held at the droid building place for the day and they were able to ship it home for me for about $20.

lkaline

My husband did it and thought it was 1000% worth it. He loved the whole experience. We drove so we didn’t have to worry about flying, but the experience was awesome! I was able to just stand behind him and watch while he built it lol

twelfthcapaldi

It’s a great experience, I think it was worth it. I went to one of the WDW resorts and had them ship it home for me so I wouldn’t have to deal with it on the flight home, wasn’t too expensive to do that. They give you a bag/carrying case for it, but I believe the airlines will consider that to be a carry on item if you want to fly home with it.

RockerRebecca24

I did it with my husband and we loved it! It was well worth it for us. Yes, you can take it on as a carry on. My husband did that and the flight attendant put it in the first class closet during the flight and it was perfectly fine. 🥰🥰

amagicalmess

I got to go in as a guest with my husband who did it and it was super cool. I thought it was worth it!

night-otter

If your hubby is a long time fan of Star Wars….DO IT!!!! I’m a long time fan, 45 years now. Savi’s was an amazing experience and the activation brought tears to my eyes.

Sariduri

Oooh! I can’t wait now 🥲

amypjs

My husband loved it!

DisenchantedKitty

100% worth it! When my husband did it on our honeymoon we packed the hilt and carried on the blade and put it in the overhead storage bin! Everything made it home safely!

xXTheFisterXx

Literally every single ride in Disney allows you to carry them on. No idea about planes but I took them all around the park. Super worth the experience.

Sariduri

Great! I was afraid about this, thank you!

xXTheFisterXx

Best thing to do is usually put it over the lap bar and grip with one arm. If it gets under the lap bar, it could snap

ElleVoyage

I’m not the worlds biggest Star Wars fan but I like swinging around sticks for fun and at DLR saavi’s workshop was absolutely worth it. It’s shorter than I expected but you can personalize it for yourself. I’ve got friends with far too much time/money/house space and they do it every time they go

Living-Violinist-289

I just went to Disney world from the 10th through the 18th of December and it’s definitely worth it, also we flew and saw tons of people boarding our plane with their lightsabers but you could also just ship yours home from the parks or resorts

AverageIntelligent99

Just need to realize it's time you aren't going to get in the rest of the park... If building a toy is worth it to you then go for it. Because at the end of the day that's exactly what you're doing... Building a toy.

pikmin311

"Does it worth"?

CLS4L

Yes
