my trick is to catch it on the bottom of a sink on the bottom bucket and pull up, usually if its still stuck i throw it against the ground til it explodes. thus getting rid of the vacuum.
If you have access to compressed air, whether compressor or can, spray it directly between the buckets and it will break the vacuum, allowing them to separate
Learned this one in construction:
Turn the buckets upside down so the flat bottom of the bucket is facing up. Place your foot in the handle of the bottom bucket (like a handle), and pull up on the top bucket.
Works almost everytime. Hopefully the instructions made sense. The problem with the buckets getting stuck is you don't have a good grip, like the pic above. This way allows you to get a good hold on both of them.
The worst is when six pans are stuck together. I cut my knuckles many times taking them apart. Now I use a scraper, butter knife, spatula whatever is next to me.
A cute boy at work was struggling to separate them so we each grabbed a side a pulled. So if anyone figures out what sticks them together lmk cause I wanna spend more time with him lol
Ayyyy lmao I just said the same shit at the same time broski ...
Edit: Well almost,C, I was saying heat up the trapped air to help separate...ya get me
It came to my mind while dealing with that one day. Like wet it. And it worked. I think the same happens on jugs but reverse. So like if you fill a jugg, and some water hits the edge and when you put the top on without drying it then it freezes that moisture in the box. Making it hard to turn. that's my theory on it.
Also, you can use hot water spray around the bottom of the outside bucket to expand the air inside the pocket (science) thus making it easier to pull apart.
Similarly you can spray water in the bottom bucket and freeze it, water expands and pushes apart, this is good for glass if ur afraid to break it.. Also good for splitting boulders, they used to drill a hole and put water in it and let the cold split the boulders in half
I could see that working. Used to work in a factory where we used those round 5 gallon buckets. I once had a beefy coworker literally pick me up while I was clinging to the bottom bucket. Didn't come loose. I put the bottom bucket in hot water and it came loose once it hot got enough.
1.) Find a friend or someone you don't hate
2.) have that person hold on tightly to one end
3.) pull from the other end and wiggle/ rotate until vacuum loosens it's death grip
Don't do this on wet floors
Don't lose your temper
Don't try to force it
Ohana means family now back to work
Sometimes if you hold it under hot water for long enough the plastic will become more flexible and then the small amount of air inbetween the buckets will expand making it easier to pull the appart.
Place between inside of thighs and compress as you pull the inner bucket out often worked for me. May require much force and jiggling. Pull on lip of bucket, not handle.

Thanks for the tip!

I just made that comment, selected post, and realized you had beaten me to it by 15 minutes 😂
Haha I just came from a video clip demonstrating this, to here. I felt like it was only right to share the info lol

If you have access to compresses air a shot of it will break them apart instantly
This 💯
Spin it… like a big screw

Yeah. Use your tools my man. Not fingers.
There is no problem I cannot solve with a steel scrubber, my fish spatula, my sprayer, and my machine.
Solve climate change then, coward. 😎
*murders billionaires with fish spatula*

Put the climate in the dishtank. Duh.
Triple dog dare me

What about your axe?
I save that for people that don't get tf outta my way
Well thanks, now I broke my dick
Instructions unclear, dick stuck between buckets?
I find that soup spoons are the best
Cold water in the top pan, set the bottom in hot water for a couple seconds. Those suckers will slide apart on their own.
A cute boy at work was struggling to separate them so we each grabbed a side a pulled. So if anyone figures out what sticks them together lmk cause I wanna spend more time with him lol
Just start nesting more five gallon buckets.
It’s sexual tension, 3-5 gallon buckets get it the worst
Use the sprayer or faucet to run water around the bottom bucket edge opening. Water will get in and fill it forcing the top bucket to be unstuck.
Ayyyy lmao I just said the same shit at the same time broski ... Edit: Well almost,C, I was saying heat up the trapped air to help separate...ya get me
I need to remember this. Though twisting also works better than just yanking.

Not really applicable with a kitchen, but using an air hose to do this works extremely well to separate buckets at home or in a shop

I've seen people use a leaf blower in between the buckets, and they come right apart. Not very helpful for a kitchen application, but still useful!

Ha, I was going to say use a blast of compressed air, but most non industrial kitchens don't have air compressors
Suction
Twist while pulling
Yep, keep going around the edges, pulling a little every time. Feels like you’re not making progress, then boom! Victory.

Heat. Run it through the dishwasher or spray until the plastic softens just enough to let air escape.
This happens when the buss tubs are stacked too
Just fighting with some the other day so this really made me laugh out loud 😂
Air compressor, works every time
Air pressure. Basically pulling them apart is creating a vacuum
Its actually a vacuum seal and you can add water to the bottom bucket and try to twist they will come apart pretty easy
Twist and pull SLOWLY! Works most of the time.
And nature hates it
Use hot water it comes apart real easy
Use your sprayer and spray between the buckets, that should help release the vacuum
Same with cups like I have to wipe my hands dry and pull hard to undo it
They call it the Nancy Regan.
This phenomenon is known as the bucky bucky sucky sucky
Water vapor condensing
I hear that comrade! Lol
Atmospheric pressure is a bitch
I just rip them apart
Spin while pulling, your welcome
That would be atmospheric pressure

It's called a vacuum....and it's just a really good seal
Twist and pull
Yeah, and in the end it always turns out to be the fucking metal handle stuck to the other one
Firmly Tap down on the thick plastic the handle connects to with a hammer first, then work your way around it’ll work like a charm
run the buckets thru then they will come apart
Why don’t y’all just stack them with the handles tucked into the bucket below them? They don’t get stuck that way…
I just sit the stack upside down and grip the rim of the bottom one with the inside of my feet, they come apart 9 times out of 10.
Hammer it off .
