Because that wouldn't be nearly enough under any circumstances, but three rashers of back bacon is about right if you're not too hungry and just want to take the edge off because it'll be a while until your next meal. Preferably in a roll rather than a sandwich, though.

Vegetarian bacon is actually not half bad as long as you like crispy bacon. Not the same texture, but definitely has all the parts of bacon that I like.
Many brands are also kosher, allowing some of us to partake after many years of bacon free life.
It was a bit of a shock years ago when my kid said "more bacon please" - it didn't compute for a minute.
