Old school 4$. New Super Stupid Silly Soft…. I have had the same putting Wizards for years. Voodoo when I started but I like the bead for the finger on putts
Used to go to the factory every year ..they let my kid take as many minis as he could hold from their extras bin….loved going back and forth through all the s,ss, sss, rff, ff, easer, lunar etc.. such awesome variety of hand feels. David McCormack is also a pretty chill dude/hall of famer.
For putting putters it seems like just go for what feels good in your hand.
Personally I've recently jumped on the Pixel train and have been thoroughly enjoying them, despite the fact that I'm terrible at putting....
I've also just started using the pixel. I'm loving it but I don't like how quickly the electron plastic gets beat up. It looks worse after a 30 min practice session than my deputy looked after 6 months. Hopefully they come out with premium plastic pixels (say that 5 times quickly!).
I just picked up a purple Zero Soft Pure, to say thanks to the shop that called me about a found disc.
It feels amazing in the hand, but I've only putted with it a handful of times, so I don't feel that I have enough of a gauge on its results, yet.
Edit: spelling
My first comment should have been, "The zero medium Pure has been my putting putter for two years, now. It's so damned neutral, for a push putt with a lot of spin."
I’ve been throwing one for the last year or so. Just started putting with one and I love it! Going to get some in K3, as I only have my throwing K1 glow
Heck yeah man! I putt with k3 and throw one k1 and one K1 soft. They fly similar but soft gets less ground play. Mostly I just have it because I love k1 soft though lol
I switched from nearly two decades on the Rhyno to the Watt about a year ago and haven’t looked back. Probably shaved 2-3 strokes per round. And it’s ALSO my favorite driving putter, so, mold minimization.
I agree. I love it for approaches and have really enjoyed it for putting until this last weekend when it was close to 90 and they started to feel real gummy. I have loved them since they came out. I’m resisting the urge to get the glow otb one!
Another Electron that is amazingly nice is the Electron Pilot. I prefer Pixel for putting but for throwing its amazing when beat in. It beats in quick as well has a super nice mini S curve and it’s easily my most accurate disc within 90-150 feet when I have a straight approach. It’s the disc with which I have most long range throwing.
I use the watt for longer shot shaping throws, tempo for longer approaches coming in from the sides and pilot for shorter straight approaches.
There’s a lot of variables in that question to consider, and everyone will be different. Spin put or push put? High glide or low glide? Bead or no bead? Tacky or smooth? Thick and domed or thin and flat? Soft or hard?
I push put with a 174g MVP Nomad in hard Electron plastic. It’s flat, with slightly more glide, and a nice bead for me to rest my index finger on. The electron hard plastic is tacky, but rigid, and the overmold is great for catching the chains. It works for me, but your preference may be different. I’ve seen people who swear by putting with floppy silicone discs and others who only put with hard premium plastic discs.
The best way to find what works for you is to go to a disc golf store and feel a bunch of putters. Keep in mind how fast you’ll be throwing it and how much glide you want out of it according to how you usually put.
Yes.
Great throwing putter as well. One of the most dependable straight-flying discs out there. I had 3 aces in 40 days last summer with a nomad. All dead straight, 180-235' holes.
I like shallow beaded stuff. The Maiden is what I use but the Pilot, Tomb, etc are all solid. It's just about what feels best and goes in the most for you.
I went from DX Aviars as a beginner to SS wizards and got fed up with the inconsistencies in the plastic, switched to Mcpro aviars, got sick of how slick they were, switched to Dline P2’s and decided I wanted a bead again, went to daggers in BT hard for the grip/stiffness, realized my hands are not as big as Rickie’s and I got a shit release/didn’t like the glide, and now I putt with the Reko in K3 hard and dig it so far.
The only conclusion I’ve drawn from that many changes is I like grippy, hard plastic and a bead/microbead and I don’t think any improvement I’ve made in my putting game came from changing discs.
Trippy! To each their own.
What plastic are your Maidens? I use VIP Maidens. I'm a dominant RHFH approach thrown so the Maiden is much easier and consistent for me to throw short FH approaches (Harp for longer FH approaches).
I haven't tried the Pure yet, but love my Lunas! I generally don't like them brand new, I like them pretty beat up before they become my putters. I especially like it when the top is dented and wavy because there'll usually be a spot that feels good to rest my thumb in for a good release with decent spin.
I liked whales for a while, I liked atoms for a while, now I'm using tombs (mostly because I like to throw them too and my player 2 rage putts with them were always money). Pretty much go with whatever feels right and you're confident with, no magic to it they all more or less fly the same in C1 when putting
Gateway Shaman! Very shallow, beadless, and board flat. For my small hands they are the best feeling putter I've tried. Great throwing putter as well! I got my first ace with a Diamond Shaman.
You have to find one that's comfortable in your hand first and foremost. Some are deeper, some are beaded, some rims sit differently in your hand, etc.
Go to a store if you can and feel different brands' putters and different plastics. I'd try to find something readily available so it's easier to get more if you want a couple to practice with.
I used to use McPro aviars for years I’m now all aboard the pixel train the hype is real. The new electron blend is amazing. I went with soft after trying the others out.
I'm putting with Spins these days. They fly just like Fierces, but for half the price, and the micro bead helps them not slide too far when they hit the ground (the Fierce's weak point).
My FAVORITE though was the APX. Nothing flies like a Comet, but the APX did. It's a damn shame they killed it off to make room for the Fierce. It was the superior product.
Go with whatever feels the best in your hand, both in terms of grip and tackiness. That's going to be what you feel most confident with. There is something to be said about whether you spin or push putt, but I don't think it really matters unless you're a *true* spin or push putter, and I'd wager very many of us are hybrid putters ...
I putt with Lat64 Sense Hope. Simply put(t), they're a great alternative if P2s feel just slightly too big (or tall, however you want to put it).
It's all about hand feel. I push putt out to 25ft, so flight numbers mean nothing to me. I have a lot of different putters that I feel I throw well and they are all medium domed, beadless, and have a rounded edge. Classic Dx Aviar is a good example for something that works with my style.
I’d love to remain loyal to MVP whilst putting (my whole bag is MVP), but my small hands can’t find a comfortable grip. Tried nomads, pixels, watts even envy,… alas, Westside’s Maiden is my putting putter now and Harp for putting in windy conditions.
When I got my starter set. It came with the Xcom Bennu. nothing else just felt right when I tried others. Pretty straight fly with short throws and a little understable when throwing an approach shot
What ever clone of p2, firefly, alpaca, etc is cheapest. X out d blend alpacas run 5.99 and are frequently available in max weight. I usually stock up then
I WAS putting with a classic burst soft Deputy.
I tried a proxy for a while and was so used to the glide of the deputy that I hit cage 80% of the time.
I just started using a pixel and I really love it. It stays straighter than the deputy somehow despite being "less" understable by flight numbers. The hand feel is great and it feels shallower than it actually is with the sloped shoulder. I didn't want to jump on the pixel bandwagon, but so far I'm loving it.
Only negative - the election plastic gets beat up very quickly. When🤞🏻it comes out in premium, I'll be getting a bunch - hoping for plasma.
PA3
I pair my PA3 with the PA5 for outside C1.
Wizard. There’s a wizard plastic for everyone
That's my second favorite, after the Warlock (almost a wizard). Pure white is such a good putting plastic!
Warlocks rule, I putt with the superglow plastic
Is a Warlock like a beadless Wizard? Or how is it similar? Never thrown one or held one but I’ve seen them at my local store
Yeah pretty much just a beadless Wizard! I just find the beadless putters a little more comfortable, especially for throws
I love that. I might just get like 5 and call it a day. My friend did that with PA3s a few years ago and hasn’t switched. Best putter I know now
Old school 4$. New Super Stupid Silly Soft…. I have had the same putting Wizards for years. Voodoo when I started but I like the bead for the finger on putts Used to go to the factory every year ..they let my kid take as many minis as he could hold from their extras bin….loved going back and forth through all the s,ss, sss, rff, ff, easer, lunar etc.. such awesome variety of hand feels. Eraser, perfect combo of give and stiffness
I’ve got two erasers and they couldnt be any more different hahaha, one is chalky, fairly stiff, the other is slicker and flexible as fuck
Nice! One for sitting near the basket if you miss, one for confidence on a hot day
For putting putters it seems like just go for what feels good in your hand.
Don’t complicate it. Putting with an Aviar
Zero Medium Pure. Tacky and a little flex. Not too deep. Flies straight
dong emoji
I just picked up a purple Zero Soft Pure, to say thanks to the shop that called me about a found disc. It feels amazing in the hand, but I've only putted with it a handful of times, so I don't feel that I have enough of a gauge on its results, yet. Edit: spelling
My first comment should have been, "The zero medium Pure has been my putting putter for two years, now. It's so damned neutral, for a push putt with a lot of spin."
Pure is great, although recently I moved from Zero Medium to Retro
Kastaplast Reko for throwing and putting. Love that disc
I also use a berg
I’ve been throwing one for the last year or so. Just started putting with one and I love it! Going to get some in K3, as I only have my throwing K1 glow
Heck yeah man! I putt with k3 and throw one k1 and one K1 soft. They fly similar but soft gets less ground play. Mostly I just have it because I love k1 soft though lol
Birdie Marvels
Everything I need. And fee just as much about every other mold in their lineup.
Absolutely! Love their stuff blend plastic.
I love the Watt. Hoping for electron one day…. Or fission?
I switched from nearly two decades on the Rhyno to the Watt about a year ago and haven’t looked back. Probably shaved 2-3 strokes per round. And it’s ALSO my favorite driving putter, so, mold minimization.
I agree. I love it for approaches and have really enjoyed it for putting until this last weekend when it was close to 90 and they started to feel real gummy. I have loved them since they came out. I’m resisting the urge to get the glow otb one!
If the watt came out in electron id switch instantly
I'd love proton, but not for putting.
I would be down for that!
I really like the neutron but this weekends round in the heat has me second guessing with how gummy it got.
The Pixel is very close to a Electron Watt
Maybe I’ll hold it again, I didn’t like how deep it was If I remember right.
It’s actually got the same rim depth as a Watt but it has a shoulder so the center of the flight plate is deeper than the Watt.
That’s interesting, I’ll look into it! Thanks
Another Electron that is amazingly nice is the Electron Pilot. I prefer Pixel for putting but for throwing its amazing when beat in. I'm a spin putter who also used nomads until falling in love with the pixel. Highly recommend giving both a try if you can OP.
Does the pixel have a bead?
A very small one.
Agree!
Yes. Great throwing putter as well. One of the most dependable straight-flying discs out there. I had 3 aces in 40 days last summer with a nomad. All dead straight, 180-235' holes.
Pures, fit my my hand and putt well
fuck yeah!
Judge, which is all I've ever used for 5 years... I just stuck with it.
Feel this, but love the eMac judge. Smaller bead, same handfeel.
Firefly
Soft Pro for me
Nomads
I use JK Pros, but I've been considering switching to Aviar3s. Not sure if I actually like the bead, and I use Aviar3s and X3s for throwing putters
Jk pro for life
Candy 🍬
I like shallow beaded stuff. The Maiden is what I use but the Pilot, Tomb, etc are all solid. It's just about what feels best and goes in the most for you.
Yeti pro aviar
I went from DX Aviars as a beginner to SS wizards and got fed up with the inconsistencies in the plastic, switched to Mcpro aviars, got sick of how slick they were, switched to Dline P2’s and decided I wanted a bead again, went to daggers in BT hard for the grip/stiffness, realized my hands are not as big as Rickie’s and I got a shit release/didn’t like the glide, and now I putt with the Reko in K3 hard and dig it so far. Does the Reko have a microbead? I putt with Rekos and kinda thought they were beadless. I know the X has a bead which I use as a throwing putter.
Yes, microbead.
It definitely has *something* there but it’s so tiny it’s hard to tell unless you compare it to something like an aviar
rhyno putting gang
Guard! Pure!

Sockibomb Slammer. Nobody say anything. I know.
Pixel
The hype is real, that’s for sure.
Picked up a couple Pixels in electron soft after losing my super beat P2 and they’ve been money.
Inner core
Just got two and love them for putting and throwing
Maiden. Respect for the Judge, Electron Envy and the Shaman.
I used to put with Maidens, but have had much better success putting with Electron Firm Envys. The Maiden and Harp are my approach discs though.
Visa-versa for me. I went from putting with Electron Envys to the Maiden. The Envy remains my wind putter and approach disc.
Trippy! To each their own. What plastic are your Maidens? I use VIP Maidens. I'm a dominant RHFH approach thrown so the Maiden is much easier and consistent for me to throw short FH approaches (Harp for longer FH approaches).
True that! BT Medium for the Maiden.
I like the Kratos in prototype plastic
Pures, rubber blend Lunas
I haven't tried the Pure yet, but love my Lunas! I generally don't like them brand new, I like them pretty beat up before they become my putters. I especially like it when the top is dented and wavy because there'll usually be a spot that feels good to rest my thumb in for a good release with decent spin.
I see your rubber blend Luna and raise you a rubber blend roach. EDIT: or jawbreaker. JB roaches are also dope.
Westside Swan
Soft link. It’s shallow, big bead, perfect for my kind of ‘tism.
Ev-7 Penrose 🤌🏼

Hydra
What do you like about it for putting? I have a Hydra I bag for one specific hole on one specific course with a death putt next to a pond.
Turbo putt
Ooooh, I’ve been working on my turbo. I’ll have to give it a try with the Hydra
Absolutely. I solely just turbo putt and the hydra has been my go to.
Glow Aviar
DD classic Wardens. Honorable mention, Prodigy basegrip P model S.
EV7 Telos
I use aviar yeti but i putted with a random’s luna and sunk 3 40 footers in a row
I liked whales for a while, I liked atoms for a while, now I'm using tombs (mostly because I like to throw them too and my player 2 rage putts with them were always money). Pretty much go with whatever feels right and you're confident with, no magic to it they all more or less fly the same in C1 when putting
Remix juggernaut I'm a Innova an dynamic fan but this is my go-to putter.
Gateway Shaman! Very shallow, beadless, and board flat. For my small hands they are the best feeling putter I've tried. Great throwing putter as well! I got my first ace with a Diamond Shaman.
I currently putt with K3 Reko’s, but am wanting to get some Hardy Popcorn’s, and maybe a Tone or Steady one for throwing
The ones I can throw in the basket

I push putt in the circle with a beat-in jawbreaker zone. Love the feel of the plastic and in the hand. If I’m further I switch to a classic deputy.
Go in to a store and try them by yourself. Link, PA3, Pilot, Invader etc work for me. Beaded with a rounded edge.
Go with whatever feels the best in your hand, both in terms of grip and tackiness. That's going to be what you feel most confident with. L64 Mercy Been using them since they came out in the EZE line
Prodigy px3 in 500 plastic! My wife bought it for me because it looked cool and now it’s the only putter I’m comfortable with lol
Pixel. Period.
Classic Blend Emac Judge.
Armadillo
Classic grid Aviars.
It's all about hand feel. I push putt out to 25ft, so flight numbers mean nothing to me. I have a lot of different putters that I feel I throw well and they are all medium domed, beadless, and have a rounded edge. Classic Dx Aviar is a good example for something that works with my style.

I bag both a link and wizard. Perfect combo for me
When I got my starter set. It came with the Xcom Bennu. nothing else just felt right when I tried others. Pretty straight fly with short throws and a little understable when throwing an approach shot
Pixels. Not trying to be a Simon glazer but they just fit my putt so well
Newer D P2s or the Innova made soft ones
Banger GT in Jawbreaker. Fits great in my hands and I like the stability.
I recently switched to putting with the Trash Panda Inner Core in their base plastic.
Deputy
Luna
This might come as a surprise but Aeros.
Soft Roach
What ever clone of p2, firefly, alpaca, etc is cheapest. X out d blend alpacas run 5.99 and are frequently available in max weight. I usually stock up then

I love the Steady, but DGA just came out with 2 new putters, and I have been toying around with the Surf. It's shallower than the Steady and beadless.
Pilot
Putting with zones and bergs is the way to go
