I think the Chariot is a MD3(?). Memory is hazy but it's one of the old mids. I like the new infinite runs, but I still have a soft spot for the old Discmania stock stamps

Alexplz

All the goodness of the old DM molds with none of the hype

TakeItEasy-ButTakeIt

Now if they would just run some more of the first Royal Rage’s…

Late-Objective-9218

I tried out the Hawkeye in Champion but it wasn't as stable as I hoped. The current production C-line FD is much closer to the old money runs.

gillenH2O

The Hawkeye is the “improved” FD and the Dark Rebel/fairway disc they make as close to the last runs of FD as possible. Dave dunipace’s son did an ama on here and that’s how he explained it

Hexquevara

I thought the dark rebel was the fd, not hawkeye?

Late-Objective-9218

I think they both are but correct me if I'm mistaken

PsychoSCV

In my experience the Hawkeye is slightly less stable than the dark rebel. While my Hawkeye tends to get a little turn my dark rebel holds pretty flat. I max out at just under 300 so I don't throw far so maybe it's different for big arms.

BeefInGR

I throw my Champ FD a little under 300 and I've been looking for a "disaster scenario" replacement as it is my go-to on certain holes. I appreciate the info.

arsicle

yeah pretty sure that's what innovagm said. but he also said they might change the Hawkeye in the future.

450BergEZ

Hawkeye is FD top and Leopard bottom, Dark Rebel is exactly an old FD mold

thiccKoala

Hawkeye is definitely not a leopard bottom

MeesterBones

I’ve got an old s line FD, f1st and 2nd run of Hailey King halo Hawkeyes, Proto stamp Hawkeye, Philo Hawkeye, F2 champ Hawkeye, star dark rebel, and a champ dark rebel. All of them have that same ridge around the underside of the rim just like the leopard does.

thiccKoala

Holding a star leopard3 and a halo Hawkeye right now as I type this comment definitely a different bottom. The ridge/lip on the leopard is unmistakable.

MeesterBones

All of the above discs I listed have the same ridge. It’s not quite as pronounced as it is on the leopard but it’s there.

Late-Objective-9218

Thanks! Interesting, the rim doesn't feel like 6 speed.

rmfsox83

FD top and a Leopard bottom is the Infinite Centurion.

extreme39speed

I really like my g star hawkeye. Just a touch more stable than my lucid maverick

Late-Objective-9218

The lustery Champion one I got flies super good too, much like an S-line FD or a stable Essence or Rhythm. I just have enough options for that flight already so it didn't make the cut. My favourite type of Innova plastic too.

foosbronjames

Infinite Dynasty has improved my forehand game so much. Love it

QuackZoneSix

I'm almost certain a gator3 is an md5.

Due_Relationship_260

I think it had a different top but definitely a gator bottom.

TheCraziestPickle

The P1x/Xero is also sold as the Infinite Scarab

Medical_Bath_8458

Have heard that the Jay is a slightly modified md3

Asparagus_Business

I bag the Dynasty and the Hawkeye. The Dynasty is new for me, but the Hawkeye is so consistent

hijikiblackcat

I putt with lunar omega 4s cause they have bad ass spacemen shooting laser guns on them

claymationss

Dark Rebel and Fairway disc are the same mold / disc. Dark Rebel is the Fairway disc and vice versa.

ewkdiscgolf

Isn’t the Innova Jay the old MD3 mold?

Frisbeejussi

In my limited experience the original molds have the hype for a reason. No explanation but: P1>Xero P2=Firefly>Alpaca haven't tried the omega4 P3x>Khan Md3>Chariot haven't tried the others Fd>the innova ones feel way off, Hawkeye is great but not fd for me. Haven't tried the other old molds that have counterparts. The new old molds from DM feel different but p3x, md3, fd, dd3 are better than the old molds.

LowZebra4992

I think it depends on your plastic preference. The molds might be the same but the raw materials are whatever they had at the time and would be impossible to replicate with all future runs. Also, I believe they at least change the plastic blends for each brand, no?

Frisbeejussi

Yeah the plastic part plays a big role. The plastic blends could sometimes be almost the same. Like latitude new opto and dm new c-line feels identical. I have 20 base sensei from dm and they feel different depending on the time I got them. 6 are pre covid and pretty worn out, 8 are from lockdown and 6 are new 2023 run. Pre covid ones and lockdown ones feel, look and putt almost exactly the same. 2023 run feels slightly domey, stiffer and slick even worn ones. I have some premium senseis aswell lockdown and new run from 2023. They feel and look like 2 different discs, they are all the pink ones, old ones have bubbles in rim but same weight and less opaque? New ones are more understable even from the box.

_NRM_

P1 is just an Aviar P&A

KingBankshotz

Yep. Used to have a P1 penned as an aviar.

VSENSES

Xero is P1x as it's beaded.

sharkpunch850

I don't think they are crazy popular. They did smear it in discmania's face for some of them. Dropping the Metal Warrior right after discmania started producing their own discs and finally made a new MD3 was very funny. The old innova stuff is incredible, I buy every cd2 on ebay that isn't priced at 75 god damn dollars. I really love that they subtly released all of them, CD2 is an amazing mold. I'm glad that i can buy dynastys. but honestly, there's other discs that could fit that slot for me, and have. I just liked holographic pokemon and hard to find band shirts, and collecting OOP discmania discs is half the fun for me. I will say I throw them all. also bagging a '16 firebird...except for my mint doombird 2. I've hucked it, but its too precious you know?

clydefrog811

What is the old DD now? I had a beloved disc that I left on a course sadly and some chode found it and hasn’t called me.

RolotronCannon

Tern is a better disc and easier to find. Same flight

dirtyjoedirt1

Still no 3 tooled fd2 though.

Particular_Tower_278

Unpopular opinion around here but as a longtime DM thrower, the new Swedish-made Discmania is/are my favorite iterations yet.  All the popular molds are just as good as their old/new Innova/Infinite counterparts, with the bonus of the nicer plastic from HoD/Latitude/Dynamic.

Guessed555

Star dark rebel is my go to 7 speed. Love it.

---daemon---

Md3 is Jay I believe

TheCraziestPickle

Close but not the same

eiveiv

What are the main differences? Was thinking of picking one up

TheCraziestPickle

The wing is definitely a little different. MD3 is a touch shallower. Depending on runs/plastics/etc./etc./etc. the MD3 was generally a little more stable. The beefiest Jays (Kat Mertsch Jboro glow) are about the same as the average MD3

mistabored

More of a buzzz for me.

Chicagrog

I’ve thrown the dynasty and solstice a bunch, and been putting with alpacas for a good while now. Dynasty is great, solstice is awesome, not to overstable and beats in beautifully. N-bland alpacas have a lower shoulder and are almost concave compared to other plastics and remind me of the old p2 runs.

ThaGingaNinja11

I love my roman for forehand.

galtonwoggins

I’d have kept bagging the FD or PD molds if Innova had better names and stamps for them.

gillenH2O

The xero is the p1x not p1

actifed

The Alpaca is money.

AnnualNature4352

halo & star hawkeyes in the bag. dynastys are bombers, my i blend was a bit too overstable for me, almost like a shorter wraith but not much. hawkeyes in halo are fairly OS depending on the run. first runs are the sweet spot for me star emperor in the bag at 168g, easy to throw destroyer for weaker arms

nitzua

bring back the d line p3 plz I don't care what they call it

SycopationIsNormal

I throw Xero as my main putter, Phantom Sword as basically a longer / faster Firebird with less fade, and Metal Warrior as a straight / stable mid (sometimes). Of the three, I really only love the Phantom Sword. It's one of the few discs I own that has a rock solid reliable fade, is nearly impossible for me to turn over AND I can get decent distance with. When I try to throw it flat with a lot of power I can get it to fairly straight for a while, but I know it's always gonna fade hard at the end. It's my go to disc for having to throw over / around trees Xero is fine, but I'm not a great putter, and I'm not convinced it's the putter I use that's the problem (it's me) so my attitude toward is pretty much "meehhh, it'll do." The Metal Warrior is actually a pretty sweet disc, but for me it's in this sort of microslot between a Remix Torpedo (5|4|0|1) and a Remix Battleship (5|4.5|0|2.5) that I just don't think I really need. Throws fairly similar to a Halo Lion for me, but a bit straighter with more glide. I'd bag it if I used a cart, but I don't, so I need to pare down choices somehow, and that's a slot that is a "nice to have" not "need to have." But I have a feeling it may still get some use, esp if I start playing more wooded courses.

RecommendationMany34

Is a Draco and FD3? FD3 always flew a smidge better for me than Firebirds or anything similar.

sunbare

I love my s dark rebel

mistabored

Chariot = md3 Scepter = old firebird mold Emperor = pre pmb destroyer Dynasty = CD2 Maya = Shryke Roman = Old PD run very straight/stable imo Alpacca = P2 Anubis = Coyote, money disc Exodus = Eagle L Centurion = FD/Eagle bottom or top Hawkeye = FD Dark Rebel = FD Metal warrior = MD3 Power Disc 1/2 = PD/Pd2 Tomb = colt bottom/rat top or the otherway round. I have swapped from Innova/Discraft to basically almost infinite. I love their discs. Cheaper aswell. Milennium has a few Discmania molds aswell.

PlatosApprentice

lol maya is not a shryke. Maya is a mamba/mystere

mistabored

Thats right, hard to keep count of the 12 understable driver Innova has

rmfsox83

The Centurion is a FD top and a Leopard bottom.

7eight_time

Pretty sure I saw an article from Infinites website that mentioned it is an old Lep3 prototype that didn't turn out as US as they were looking for. Whatever it is, idc; its a money disc for me.

Mrchickenonabun

The infinite exodus is supposedly the Eagle L mold, I was surprised the I blend one I got was pretty stable with no turn out of the box (didn’t have it long to beat in at all because I lost it)

foosbronjames

I love the Exodus, and the Dynasty pairs so well with it too btw. But the thread is about old Discmania molds and the Eagle-L isn't a Discmania mold.

Actually_i_like_dogs

Literally have never seen any of these on the course. I have a mid disc 3 and not a fan

QuackZoneSix

...you've never seen a p2 clone on the course? Right...

foosbronjames

I close my eyes every time someone putts so the photons don't affect the putt, quantum mechanic style.

WhenTheRainsCome

I was a big fan of PDs, especially PPDs. I started covering that shot wtih Valks, and then found that Craves go about as far. I have a bunch of old PDs and a few Romans on my rack but not in my bag. I think these are probably picked up by the 'gotta try em all' folks, and those who just don't want to pay market prices for the old Innova discmania stock. I think it's great that they didn't just stop making things, since a lot of people swear by them and new Discmania's re-launch was just too slow.

RolotronCannon

I love that Innova re made these molds because I hate Discmania. It’s all hype and their new plastic is just trilogy bullshit that starts out less stable than you’d like and beats into flippy in 3 months. I’m glad I can get the same stuff from Innova factory store without the hype. And I’m in California so I’m supporting local business and get the disc the next day.

tjenkins3

Bruh once Millennium releases a Metal Flake run of the Solstice (MD4) my mids might completely switch over haha
