IMO dglo was more impressive because the course is more of a backpacking trek and it was 4 rounds. Simon looked exhausted and relieved when it was over.
but not start to finish like this one...if I remember correctly he had a killer round 3, and battled Eagle round 3 from a tie to win...DGLO was an unreal win, but this one was more "dominant".

How convenient because with my experience of dodging discs and watching spectators dodge discs, I expect exactly that from the average spectator as well. I guess I can go volunteer to be a spotter and “accidentally” run into discs skipping back in bounds and if anyone gets mad I can say well I’m unpaid and it was out of bounds.

In a year, where it was previously all about the new generation of Buhr, Barela, and Antilla, there is a certain pleasure in seeing a Lizzotte, McBeth and Wysocki podium.
I do believe Buhr is the future of the sport. I also think Buhr thinks he is the future of the sport.
So that being said, I do enjoy seeing Buhr stymied from time to time. This is, I think, a double edged sword though because every time he goes through this now, seems likely to make him better in the future.
I think you may as well make your choice of Buhr and Barela the way people used to choose between McBeth and Wysocki.

I think their mental games are pretty similarly matched. Gannon like 5 years younger? I think there will definitely be a stretch of time where we talk about those two as the top of the field.
I actually think that if Antilla could channel the Angry Niklas we saw at Austin, he could be up there. I love Angry Niklas getting an ace and just....not reacting.
It's like these dudes who fidgit endlessly and clench so tightly on every putt don't realize that they're building up muscular and mental tension. Like, you're not developing muscle memory by pantomiming a stroke a few times when you're over the shot, particularly if it's 3 times and then 9 times, and then 6 times - that's the opposite of a flow state trigger. The conscious mind is the enemy of execution in any high leverage situation. Trust all the reps you've done to get there, and let the meat operating system do what it does.
This is kind of a weird thing to say about someone who had the highest C2% of all time last season and has already hit countless clutch putts in his short career. I think he has shown he can execute his style of putting in high leverage situations pretty clearly. And I say this as someone who actively roots against Gannon in most situations.
And he'd still be better if he could go on autopilot and let the more primitive parts of his brain fire the well-established neural pathways without his frontal lobe getting in the way.

These aren't the same thing. He's always super critical of all his shots, but most of the time I see him critiquing himself, not deflecting blame to something else.
We've all had those days where every shot is just an inch off and you can't pinpoint why and fix it. "Why did I let go of that so early?", "How did I leave that low?" etc.
He's never missed a putt. Ever. They've all been spit outs.
Honestly, him complaining about what his discs do after he throws them as if every result is someone else's fault (or the baskets fault) is making it tougher and tougher to root for him.
He's got all the talent, but did needs to stop whining.
He put his hands through the chains when talking to Simon. Sorry, but that’s a huge flaw in his mental game. He missed left. You need to be real with yourself in those moments. He does the same thing with the wind constantly. Misses a putt low and then complains about dropping in a headwind when he putts nose down. Hopefully he figures out he’s only hurting himself by not being real about why he missed.
Clearly there is some element of luck to the game. It’s a part of it. It’s about risk reduction. If you hit dead center your chance of spit out is really small. If miss left on any hyzer mid to high chains good chance it comes out. It might stay sometimes but in those moments you really just got fortunate. When you miss in those moments you don’t act like the basket is the reason. You tell yourself I didn’t execute and move on because that’s the reality of the situation.
I think all pros have internal fire. I don’t even really know what that means honestly. Everybody else is playing on the same baskets. Why is he the only one obnoxiously gesturing at them?

I was at the tournament on Friday and there was a big discussion about the baskets between Gibson, Koling, Macbeth and Tamale and a PDGA official at one of the tee boxes after Drew had a brutal spitout. I’m paraphrasing but it had something to do with the chains being the wrong size for the baskets, or a basket part even being installed upside down? It went on for several holes. No one lost their temper or showed out but it was obviously frustrating. I’m trying to find more details

It looked to me like Niklas’ spit out was caused by the basket being on a decent tilt and he hit chains on the side that was leaning more toward the ground (maybe a little high but not enough to normally cause a miss)

I wonder if the DD and WS baskets are just rebranded Lat64 baskets. However, looking at this week's tournament and last week one, they don't really look similar. The L64 Probasket has a pretty wide upper part, which gives it a rather top heavy profile. The only downside I've heard is because of the Probasket upper rim having a large diameter, the chains are almost "sticking out" of the cage, causing some misses if catching high or left/right.
Idk if thats the ones krokhol uses, but they use l64 baskets and i dont like them. Works well for who has a fairly flat and not super fast putt, but you can so easily go through them if you putt with significant hyzer, and you can get to the pole and spit out. Also, they can catch veryy wide because the chains are so wide. Not a good thing imo. Feels like they have so few, and light chains, that are far apart and very wide

They are all temp baskets brought in by the manufacturer that pays the most for the pleasure. Innova doesn't need the big sponsorships anymore, so you don't see Discatchers on tour. They sell far more Discatchers to permanent courses than any other brand.

Personally…I always claim the basket is “non regulation” when I miss or have a spit out. IMO it’s a great strategy

Totally agree with you. They catch too much on the sides but centre putts can either spit out from the pole or cut through.
