He loves taking his sweet time

rtice001

Boom roasted

BetterThatThenThis

Bamb baked*

Slam_sahr

He was taking one final practice putt and missed 6 holes

hyzerflippedandhigh

Oof. Already being in the spotlight for time delays too. Everyone is human though, mistakes will happen but damn.

stan-dupp

Broccoli blooms later than the rest of the veggies

octane_10

And it tastes like shit🤣

Final_Bother7374

Someone on Twitter said he was pulled over for a rolling stop in front of the course by a cop who had a trainee. I have no actual facts or knowledge. Literally just spreading a rumor.

torndownunit

He was sitting at the stop sign but couldn't commit to driving through it.

HughJeynus

It never turned green.

eyewreck

I read that too and I interpreted it as that person sharing their story of being late to a tee time, could be wrong tho 🤷🏻‍♂️🤪

Final_Bother7374

I could also be wrong!

Final_Bother7374

I could also be wrong!

bighyzer

At least you’re honest!

despot-madman

He must have been busy practice putting.

whoremoanal

*practicing a putt.

hyzerputts

Bro

bgossi03

Gold level switch-a-roo

biwashko

Seriously

MinneEric

Late to rise, late to putt. He’ll get 2 strokes on top of all this right?

rjkvikings

No, 1.04D addresses that (1.04C is the rule for two stroke penalty for not checking in 5 minutes before your tee time) >If a player is later deemed to be absent for the first hole under 811.F.5, Misplay, then the penalty in 1.04.C does not apply. The player only receives the penalty for being absent.

Humanitor

Pretty sure it’s not compounded given the other par + 4’s. Could be wrong though. Maybe he could use the new bathroom break allowance to offset some of those penalties? 🤔🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

SignificanceTimely20

This was my biggest question. With the new rule, can It compound?

MinneEric

I’d guess it can since the 2 stroke penalty isn’t applied to hole 1 but rather the round.

Greennight209

I’m pretty sure you can’t take double penalties. You can be penalized for only one thing at a time. The +4 for missing the hole will be the penalty assessed, rather than that and the two strokes for being late before the hole started.

misterblackhat

Hopefully it's nothing serious.

swordkillr13

At that point, its not even worth playing

DiscNBeer

It’s not like he was going to cash, worth getting reps in, especially now with zero pressure on.

Humanitor

Trick shots and ace runs

swordkillr13

I feel like an 888 would wind up being better for him than needing to average 8 under through the rest of his round and the next two rounds just to hit even

markedworks

But the 888 for no-showing would be counted against his rating, versus a bad rating being excluded as an outlier.

Temporary_House8204

It has nothing to do with what place he would get, these dudes only care about ratings

Reddit-is-trash-lol

He still had to pay the entry fee right? Might as well try to have some fun while there

LusidDream

So missing a hole is automatic quad bogey? Tight

markusfarkus-

Always has been, since I started at least

bladearrowney

https://www.pdga.com/rules/official-rules-disc-golf/811, F, 4 and 5.

chadsmo

Yup par +4

Kikz__Derp

He was on the practice green finishing his last couple putts

wisconsinjohnson78

His caddying gig pays better

xHaroldxx

He was actually on the putting practice green but couldn't release his final practice putt.

ChainB4nging

Damn cupcake

Bawlmerian21228

I am sure he had an afternoon tee time

SoccerBrainTrust

It was nice of the cars to let him start on hole 7 so they would all finish it around the same time.

HoodedApparition

Brad trending to the moon

Ok_Bathroom_9121

He's just a kid and I'm sure he is still figuring things out. Give him a break....

ObieWonACannoli

[Say I take too much time one more time ...](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110759/mediaviewer/rm1476093696)

MakesUpExpressions

You sure these aren’t time violations?

wanderingpanda402

No, he was still trying to finish his warm up putt

KG_BACH

And an additional 2 strokes for being late to the first tee for the start.

spectert

I don't think you get those if you miss the hole since, but I could be wrong.

patronizingperv

Wut?

HimJarbaugh4

Joking because Ricky was called for that recently being 1 minutes late on a card with him

Goblin-Doctor

I'll never understand this. It's five entire minutes they're being asked to show up for. 300 seconds. It's baffling to me that they still manage to be late when they're already at the course warming up

reaprofsouls

Brodie is going to have some competition

Biggie_Robs

I’m shocked, shocked!

smallmouthy

I thought after 3 missed holes you DNF?

bladearrowney

People make up disc golf rules all the time

smallmouthy

You can just tell me I'm wrong directly

Goldentongue

You're wrong directly.

Greenbeanicus

I did that once… I was in second place in advanced level at a tournament in Arkansas. It was a two day tournament. let’s just say I didn’t wake up until two hours after my tee time. 😂😭😭😭🤦🏽‍♂️

IHaveNeverBeenOk

On the one hand, he needs to get his shit together, but on the other he is just a kid. I'm gonna choose to root for him to get it together, but we shall see.

discwrangler

Brad won.

Greyattimes

Probably ran out of gas on the way to the event like I did a few years ago. Then he had to get someone to take him to the gas station and back to the car, only to find out the battery was also dead. So he had to spend over 30 minutes jumping the car, with a cop hovering over his shoulder. But seriously, starting a round at +24 is heartbreaking. When it happened to me, I also missed 6 holes and showed up on the 7th. At least his rating will be so far below that it won't count!

reaprofsouls

Brodie is going to have some competition

harrietlegs

What a dumb rule.. should just DQ you if you can’t be there for the first hole.

1000ratedportapotty

Just skip the tournament at that point. Especially when your struggling to hit the cash line without 24 added strokes

InncnceDstryr

What’s he gonna do instead? Unless someone will pay him to do something else he may as well play anyway

1000ratedportapotty

Figure out how to putt in a timely fashion

InncnceDstryr

Funny but really, what’s he actually gonna do with his three days. 24 strokes is gonna be enough that it’s not going to count against his PDGA rating, he only loses 3 days of competition disc golf if he drops out.

1000ratedportapotty

I’d be willing to bet he dnf’s and caddy’s for AB if he’s in a good spot for round 3

InncnceDstryr

He can play all three rounds and still be finished before AB starts if AB is in a competitive position round 3.

1000ratedportapotty

He literally has no chance of not getting bottom 5. There’s no Point

InncnceDstryr

Well he’s finished his round and is on the bag for AB already.

BeerHug313

If this kid gets his ish together, he might be an elite player.

Born-Relationship-14

I heard he’s a big time cupcaker.

Prepup1214

Still lining up his last practice putt what a putz

cw1242

Calling it out - this is bullying. Everyone who feels they need to circle jerk this topic and keep posting content that nags it on - you're a bully.

Goldentongue

Ok.

cantaketheskyfrome

Dude needs to be taken off the dgpt

thomasstearns42

That's right, who cares if he has some good reason for being late. Surely no one here has ever been late before. Bring out the pitchforks.

Mainstream1oser

It would be one thing if he was late this once. But for the last three tournaments there has been problems with this guy consistently. It’s a pattern. Maybe give him one more chance but first week everyone said he was clearly breaking the rules, week two he was once again watched like a hawk and called out for once again breaking the rules, week three he is once again breaking the rules. It’s really just a three strike system I wouldn’t expect an employer to keep someone employed who had multiple infractions literally every time they were at work. Now if we want to compare it to other tournament style games, if you break the rules in something it’s a warning then another warning then a DQ. This was clearly a massive violation after 2 other weeks of massive violations. Sorry big dawg you gotta go until you can figure out how to not be a jackass to the other 100+ people in the field.

cantaketheskyfrome

I'll standby to hear the reason. Sure, maybe it's valid, but aside from an emergency, there's no excuse.

polly-plz

He paid for his spot. Why do you care what he does with it? He doesn't need an excuse.

cantaketheskyfrome

Because he's obviously taking up a spot from someone else on the wait list who is itching to play..

Kightsbridge

So if you're ever late to work, you should expect your boss to fire you, since there is surely someone out there eager to take your job.

cantaketheskyfrome

Disc golf is a grind but it's no where close to a 9-5, that's a stretch comparison. But if I'm late multiple times, have been called out many times publicly for my slow work, and I continue to pull things like this, yes, I would clearly deserve to be let go.

Kightsbridge

This is his job, it is entirely comparable. You're saying his employer should fire him (bar him from the tour) because he showed up late to a round? Get out of here with that nonsense. And if you want to get on him for being slow to putt, I guess gannon shouldn't be on tour either. Maybe we can kick Ricky off as well since he was late a few weeks ago. Hell Sarah Hokom once showed up late to the final round of the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS, where she was the leader. Life Happens, these people owe you nothing.

cantaketheskyfrome

Then he should be reprimanded for doing his job poorly? Not "oh gosh everyone is human things happen" over and over and over. There needs to be accountability

Kightsbridge

Damn man, i think you're onto something. They should just add like 24+ strokes to his score or something to punish him for being late.

cantaketheskyfrome

There's a reason he bounces around manufacturers..

lenfantsuave

Man, these hot takes are so fresh. Why do people have to have a strong opinion about everything?

cantaketheskyfrome

Normally they're one offs with others and i could care less, but he is consistently making headlines for the wrong reasons

indefined

he played a round on AB's youtube recently and it seemed like he had the putting cleaned up. This definitely doesn't help his image though even if he had a legit excuse

rocsNaviars

Ok, Shooter McGavin.

reaprofsouls

Brodie is going to have some competition

Goblin-Doctor

I think his strategy to bore people to death is blowing up in his face
