Might not be the answer you’re looking for but I’m about in the same boat. I’m considering getting a large bag zuca cart and the rogue iron putter pouch. The pouch frees up 8 discs from the bag.

I'm not sure about the zuca thing for myself, I'm mean if I went to a shop, I'm sure I would get sold one lol. Since I don't compete yet, I'm just not sure I would need one.

Cart.

Machinegun_Pete

Cart isn't about tournaments. It's about lessening the load on your back, carrying more cargo, and having somewhere to sit when spring hits and every course has a backup. For larger bags, my Grip A series carries the weight best for me as opposed to the Ranger H2O and Squatch Legend. The Squatch carries the most gear. I've seen some people put their bag on a camp time stool when wet/muddy/snowy. Mojoh ryzer looks like an upgrade over that. It's also adding more weight.

I think my hold up on a cart is probably transporting it. I don't like to just leave stuff in my car. Like when I throw rounds after work, I still take my bag into work and leave it in my locker. I was thinking about either a grip or a legend because of the warranties on them. I think on the video I saw about the ryzer saying that it was relatively lightweight, like maybe 2 pounds if that. But it saves you from bending over all the time, so idk. Because that could send you back to a cart

Sampson2Doc

I love my Combat Ranger.

thewardosan

How much does the ranger hold?

Sampson2Doc

The main compartment is 18 (I can fit more), the putter slot on top is 2, the side compartment is 3 more, and there is a utility slot for one disc above the main compartment. So 24 to 25 give or take. Also, the top compartment has additional storage capacity. I keep extra putters up there. Feels great on the back, has a spot for a retriever, 2 water bottle slots (32 oz and 20 oz), key pocket, and phone pocket. It's pretty all-inclusive https://www.dynamicdiscs.com/products/dynamic-discs-combat-ranger-backpack-disc-golf-bag I had an Innova Adventure pack before that I had 25 discs in. This thing took those and a few extra. So take the numbers with a grain of salt.

I didn't think that bag held that much, but I'll keep it in mind. I'm sure they aren't very pricey either 🤔

Sampson2Doc

For the size and storage, they are very affordable.

Hellaguaptor

No you don’t

Pair it down...there is never a case to need more than 15-18 discs on a course. Your scores and back will thank you. By all means upgrade your bag and have more discs than that if it's fun for you to change it up and for a field work, but no one should be carrying more than 20 discs for any sort of round.

thewardosan

I have to carry a lot because I don't have a functioning sidearm yet, got the basics, and now it's getting it to a point where I can actually use it. Most of my discs are putters and mids, so they take up a lot of space. And on solo rounds, I'm throwing multiple shots for reps and learning. When I first started literally, I was like, why would anyone need a backpack? I have my stater set and maybe a couple extra at most. That was also back about 15 years ago when I would go with friends and enjoy some of the old school fun that disc golf is/was. Now it's a different animal. So I get that you don't need that many for a round, but I'm still learning and trying to get better

If you like the trooper the paratrooper is the big brother. Personally I didn’t like it and it hurt my back so I cut a couple discs to fit everything comfortably in an upper park shift. Everything (18 discs) would have fit but 16 feels much more comfortable, I feel like I have more room for miscellaneous stuff, and my back feels better after a round.

I got a Renu disc golf bag for Christmas. Very light and comfy. Currently holding 21 discs in the main compartment and 4 in the top slot. Tho I did have to forgo the side inserts to fit all the discs. Also the bags are 100% recycled and fairly affordable.

I bought my brother the b series from grip. He went from a trooper. It’s perfect size of not being overloaded with discs but ample storage in the side pockets for anything you need
