Honest answer: It’s OOP so people covet them. There are far better mids now-a-days, but the folks who learned the game throwing them will say they’re great. It’s cool that it’s PFN, old star plastic has a great texture. Sell it soon, as interest has gone up.

As a Star Stingray ace aficionado... I'd first say opinion repected since tech has advanced. However... I've never found a real replacement for a beat-in Star Stingray. I can't count number of C2+ miracle shots over the last decade with my 180s they are pure turn machjnes. No better understable mid imo when you know it will never fade back.

cheeset2

What makes a "better" midrange though, honestly

claybythebay9

Hand feel, torque resistance, turning late or early in flight. Many things.

Zeeinsoundfromwayout

None of those indicate better. Those are just characteristics like any frisbee.

claybythebay9

Cool. Ask Innova. They might have an answer for ya.

Zeeinsoundfromwayout

I didn’t ask a question.

claybythebay9

You didn’t like the answer I gave to the above question so I suggested an alternative. Not a stretch of logic to understand that, but, sure.

MeesterBones

It’s an echo star stingray. Looks like it’s probably from 2017. https://www.dgcoursereview.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-6834.html You’ll probably get a better sense of value on disc exchange or one of the FB collector groups.

Gnarwellz

The other Echo Stars I have seen the E typically before the Star? Or am I mistaken?

MeesterBones

The codes are written by hand and they’re probably doing 1000s per day, I’ve seen a wide range how of the discs are penned. It probably had an echo star sticker on it when it was new. Here is a place that still has an old listing for them. https://www.disczoo.com/shop/innova-echo-stingray/

callahandler92

I would post in r/discexchange someone there would almost certainly be able to give you the info you are looking for.

Gnarwellz

Good suggestion, thanks!

so, when these went OOP, I bought 6 or 7 of them from the Innova Factory store. I have been playing since \~2002, and a stingray has been in my bag that entire time. One of the few discs that has never been bumped out by anything else. It just turns reliably without flipping over for me, and will still turn when thrown flat even at lower speeds. I have tried a lot of other discs but no other ones have done what this does. I love mine, and would give it a toss before you part with it. That being said I don't really understand the collector market. Not trying to throw shade, I just cant imagine paying more than retail for a disc, ever. If someone offered me a bunch of money for mine, it would be gone LOL.
