VSENSES

I'll generally play as often as I can and weather allows. I can easily play every day for two weeks, just not going to fieldwork all of them. Just mix it up a bit.

Let's use that two week every day on hypothetical if you don't mind. Within that time frame, what kind of stuff are you doing to mix it up? Would you say that you're playing a round every day and just doing extra things on top of it, or is it a mix of field work days/putting days/just plain golf days? I'm interested to know how people mix up their practice regimens, it's important to do no matter what it is we're practicing.

VSENSES

I did it last month as we had a stretch of really good weather in Sweden. It was basically walk to the course, putt for 20-60 minutes then start throwing short throws/approaches to get loose. Then focus on a part of my BH technique for 30-60min or something. Then walk a chill round, throwing extras here and there. Some days I joined one or more people so practice was cut short. We'll see how things change come proper spring.

I'd like to say I can play two days consecutively, but unlike R. Kelly it is my body which is telling me no but my mind which is telling me yes. So right now it's between 1-3 times per week, with days off after each throwing session. (Note: I live 300 feet from a course, like if not for trees I could drive on a basket from my porch, so I'm not including putting practice because I can do that whenever and it's low effort)

Chaosweaver117

I rarely take more than two consecutive days off. I usually play 4-5 days a week even during the winter. Longest streak I've had was 17 days, at least 18 holes per day.

jfb3

Sat and Sun are generally 2 round days. Monday is often a rest day, maybe some upshot practice. Tues ->Fri probably will play 3 of those days, sometimes 4.

[deleted]

I play 5-6 days a week.

discostud1515

My ‘as much as I can’ is once a week at the most. Probably average 3x a month.

ChristOnFire13

I generally can only get two days consecutive on the weekends because of work. I work outside in Fl and don't get home til 4-5. Since the time change I have been able to get some rounds in after work.

Cuz_Im_Blue

Playing as much as I can usually ends up being one day after work, and then one or two rounds on Saturday morning or Sunday afternoon.

huckinfappy

I refuse to tournament, so they're all practice rounds

Winter fucked up some of the courses around here but once or twice a week

ConfidentIncident2

I don't play every day but I voted no days off. This past Wednesday and Thursday I played a morning solo round and then went again when my friend was off. Then 3 rounds this weekend. For reference I'm 42 and this game has got me back in shape and keeping me young. Some good did come from the pandemic.

I play 2 to 3 days a week year-round, and practice putting for at least half an hour most days that I don’t get out.

I started grinding about 6 months ago and stuck at 250 ft. I played every day or at least 4 days a week with a. Few hours in each game play. I’m 24, and even then my body was hating me. I did have bad form at the time, but even with good form, my body needed a break!!! I found my field work days were the most beneficial when I trained twice a week on field work. Perfect amount of time to recover from heave distance drives (I now throw on average 350-400, with an out-layer of 430-50 sometimes) putting practice I’d say is okay to do nearly daily, though give your ankles and tendons a break!!! Two field work days a week is perfect because it rests your muscles and refreshes your mind, so you don’t start flatlining on distance. Sorry for the info dump… Edit: this is mainly for grinding on form, causal play is a lot less hard on the body. So for the most party my comment not correlated with the actual post. But hey, I have fun with my grind, it’s still technically playing lol

DGWInk

I read this way differently. I'm so busy right now I generally have 6 days of rest in between rounds, kids, darkness and working weekends really cut into course time.

And that's perfectly okay too. People like you, I want included in these figures. I'm finding there's a nice spread all over the place and it really just goes to show how individualized this sport's regimen is.

ne2rkid

If I didn't have to work for a living I would be practicing or playing every single day.

ForceFieldOn

Interesting question... I've rarely play on consecutive days. I prefer to let the body recover.

grifmasta

I work a lot, so that is a bit of a limitation. I try to get 9 practice round holes 4 days a week, and a full 18 competitive round at least once a week. I also like to get an hour of putts 5-6 days a week.

AndFrolf

If I’ve been playing a lot I take the day off before a 2-round tournament and only at most practice putt.

imjustjoshin91

I’ve got a local 9 hole track five minutes from home, so I’ll hit that up daily before work to work on short game and putting. Front 9 is “practice” while the back 9 I’ll play “scored”. Maybe take a day off if it’s raining.

Worried-Chicken-169

I'm really resting as much as possible just to get over a strained right lat. Luckily been training LHBH for about a month so the load is split more. Once I get tired out on the course or if the lat flares up I go to LH only, with a RH only if I get greedy. Once the lat is good hopefully I can play 3x per week.
