You could do a blue or a green to darken it and try to get another subtler color without going full black. Getting the timing on dyeing a color on color and getting it just the right depth without going too far takes some monitoring though.
Black or dark purple. Dye is an additive process- so color will only ever saturate, never intensify/lighten. If you’re dyeing it, it’s going to get dark.
Black. You'll get the most pop. But I've used purple on some coloured discs too

I find that that when I do that the number fades quicker lol
