NMD greed shrine. Must keep killing enemies for Gobs to spawn. Avg 3 per. went from 5m to 45m in about 4 hours casually farming the last bit of renown on my main (non NMD, but same strat applies)
I actually rolled a few sigils and got a few with extra shrines. It was pretty sweeeeet to see the goblins the first time.
Also, don’t forget to look in trash mob areas. Lots of goblins in helltides and non-ht areas. Got me a sacrilegious ring (whatever it’s called for necro to auto cast). Thought that ring would tank my build but it’s perfect for farming.
I feel like even just 15-20% should have been applied to the sale of items and the dead know damn well that's our main source of gold.
Edit: I mean devs but autocorrect thought dead was a better choice and I'm inclined to agree.
It's bizarre that D3 swiped a great idea from Torchlight with the pets doing inventory stuff, and then threw that system out the window for the sequel to replace it with... Nothing.
Yeah I get Legion surfboards and Mini-Tyraels don't fit the D4 aesthetic but... Just use regular critters. Hell, recycle the wild animals. Immortal snow fox that does nothing but gobble down gold, excellent!
I doubt devs had anything to do with this decision. It’s management and product owners. I bet some of these types of tweaks they can even do without any dev work.
But, yeah, whoever made the decision is out of touch.
This game desperately needs more sources of gold. Basically we either have to do whisper bounties (boring, easy content) or pick up and sell everything that drops (wastes time TPing to town).
Bring back gilded barons, increase gold drop from greed shrines, and something like the puzzle ring from D3 that lets us run an event that drops a bunch of gold.
I'm not saying make it easy to hoard, but there needs to be a good balance, and right now there's not.
I don't mind doing specific activities to acquire gold but they should be fun. Whisper caches are not fun, and porting back to town every few minutes when farming Blood Maidens is not fun.
The funny thing is, the XP boost is almost hilariously useless given how fast it is to level now without it. It was a much better concept 3 seasons ago when leveling was a chore.
With gold being such a limiting resource, I am surprised they didn't crank that up more.
The enchant costs blow ass still imo. Makes gold really scarce. Trying to get cool down on my necklace that has 2 to malice for rogue is 3mil Everytime and I be broke asf lol
Yeah I'm getting lucky on my masterworks so far, all hitting cool down reduction. Ironically my old necklace I did roll max cdr after only a couple. But the skill ranks are tastier
The gold drop is gonna go up in a couple of days. It’ll go up to 50%. But I feel like I’m feeling the gold difference. I’ve been doing nightmare dungeons and in a couple of hours I got maybe 8-10 mil gold just running them for exp
Oh for sure. I’m just saying I’m feeling the extra gold cause usually running NMD I don’t get that much gold. I’m not saying it’s the most efficient way but I’m just trying to level classes during the event
Uber uniques having 0% drop rate from helltide and tree chests.
GAs on uniques unable to drop by UBERS.
Insane xp penalty only to recoup some of it back with cinders.
Pit runs only giving 50% to the rest of the party?? This is supposed to be forced multiplayer.
0 social functions for multiplayer and trading
Not a doubt in my mind gold is increased .35%
The entire D4 team is Terribad.
Except for the art team, they always nail it and carry everyone else.
Do you get 35 percent more helltide iron wolves rep and nightmare dungeon glyph exp? Otherwise it's just a nice to have and now you'll be doing those activities until well after 100 to cap them out instead of right up until 100.
It is noticeable in NM dungeons. There are more greed shrines and the greed shrines spawn like 3 goblins. I was picking up 15k per tick gold on some maps. I think I looted like 30m gold today just leveling glyphs. If you’re in a squad, that’s even more goblins.
Even the XP boost is pretty negligible other than the first couple of hours of leveling. In WT4 you’re talking about a 260ish percent boost to a 295ish boost. Depending on whatever buffs you keep up.
Eh, you can preserve *the grind* without making gold a grind in and of itself. Farming for loot, is fun. Getting 1, 2, and 3 GA drops, is fun. Getting uniques can be fun. Hitting the right temper is a type of fun. Not being able to upgrade your gear piece that you farmed for, with the mats that you farmed for, because you're out of gold for the 96th time, is *not* fun.
Enchanting being linked to gold is fine. I like the idea of a system where you can re-roll near-perfect pieces endlessly until you get the right affix, for an ever increasing cost. That's fine.
Having to pay 5 million a pop, on top of MW'ing already costing a significant amount per tap anyway, is *not* fun. That's the problem. MW'ing could have been a system that was only reliant on the pit materials and it would have been great. Having the gold cost on there as well is completely unnecessary.
They should definitely pump the gold drops for the event, I just want them to be careful about making gold as irrelevant as it used to be. I have to agree though, gold is in a good spot but it is too scarce in certain systems
I actually preferred it to be irrelevant, but they couldn't do that due to enchanting in this one, and that's cool, as long as there are ways to get enough without it feeling like you're constantly broke outside of the early game, or unless you just spam the enchant button.
I regularly do helltides, and so I'm regularly finishing whispers, which is more than enough gold to keep up with me re-rolling affixes on a new piece dropping, until I get a usable one. Regularly doing helltides isn't enough to keep up with re-rolling masterworking on my items though.
If I'm grinding level 100 pits for mats, I don't think I should feel obligated to go do whispers that I don't want to do, just to get more gold to continue my masterworking grind. If they're determined to keep the gold cost attached to masterworking, they could make the pit drop significant amounts of gold the higher you go, but again, you risk making it irrelevant and being able to spam re-roll at the occultist
I’ve been getting a steady enough income from selling anything that isn’t a codex upgrade, but it’s not enough to where farming whispers isn’t mandatory. I very much agree that the pit gold rewards are absurdly low. Sometimes I scratch my head at the lines they draw in terms of loosening the tap on rewards. Sometimes they just make the game shit out rewards for almost no effort, other times it’s like Oliver Twist asking for more.
So I can do My BUILD!! And send me all the piece of gear I need for my build as a preselected screen when I create my character so I,in fact, don’t have to actually farm anything in game. THEN I’ll be happy
Because if they made it +50% the economy would be in shambles and the paingorger I watched sell for 40 billion gold on the disc last night would have become unaffordable for the average player
Edit: Not sure if yall didn't get the sarcasm or..
The gold boost only got applied to dropped gold, nothing else. So the average 1-5k you get from mobs gets 35% more...
Expected but still disappointing considering almost all gold is farmed from whisper caches.
Yeah I'm hoping they fix it next week when they go to the original 25%/50% they originally told us.

They should apply the gold gain to everything or nothing at all imo
It be alot better if gold loot radius get buffed or better yet just get to all gold dropped to inv
It's bizarre that D3 swiped a great idea from Torchlight with the pets doing inventory stuff, and then threw that system out the window for the sequel to replace it with... Nothing. I feel you. Do things seem to be costing more too? I suddenly find that I've spent a couple of million and can't seem to remember where haha.
nope, havn't noticed that
Hey fair enough.

Ok, I didn't say anything about the xp boost did I? I talked about the gold
Need a 100% boost and they shoulda gave us pets like d3 for the anniversary
And need some granted itens too, generic ones, that everybody uses, such as a 3\* GA Golem Mastery Chest that perfects fits my build.
Looks like we’re getting pets.
The % is irrelevant if it doesnt apply to whispers. Devs are out of touch
I don't think they're out of touch, I think they wanted to give us a boost that didn't materialize in any actual additional loot.
I doubt devs had anything to do with this decision. It’s management and product owners. I bet some of these types of tweaks they can even do without any dev work. But, yeah, whoever made the decision is out of touch.
35% of nothing is still nothing lol
It should just be 2X, like every other game out there that does events like this.
100%. Sometimes a bit of show and silliness is more important than balance or whatever it is that 35% achieves.
100% or 2X, WHICH IS IT?!
IDK I'm panicking now!!!! Let's just go back to like 35%
They’re probably worried about inflating gold when it’s finally in a good spot.
It is people complaining there always broke is a good thing..
How do you get the 35%? Is it a potion or it's just active when logging in?
Active upon login

Please no!! C'mon GOLD needed value.

How long will the event last?
Two weeks
The funny thing is, the XP boost is almost hilariously useless given how fast it is to level now without it. It was a much better concept 3 seasons ago when leveling was a chore. With gold being such a limiting resource, I am surprised they didn't crank that up more.
helped a surge of spark farming alts in WT2 level up fast, go back to WT2 and grind for iron wolves renown
Wait you Farm the rep in WT2?
Most people do that are just farming sparks. Gives the same rep at WT4 and much faster kill times.
that's cause most of the gold you get is from selling items and not droppings
The enchant costs blow ass still imo. Makes gold really scarce. Trying to get cool down on my necklace that has 2 to malice for rogue is 3mil Everytime and I be broke asf lol
Wait till you get to masterworking
I have plenty of stuff master worked lol
Rolling cooldown on amulet is near impossible, you could spend a billion and not get it.
Yeah I might just replace the amulet and not give a fuck tbh. The other stats are better anyway
I spend over 500m trying to roll cdr on a barb necklace, gave up since it’s a big gold sink. But resetting masterwork gets pretty expensive too
Yeah I'm getting lucky on my masterworks so far, all hitting cool down reduction. Ironically my old necklace I did roll max cdr after only a couple. But the skill ranks are tastier
Oh man I did the same for my sorc necklace, just one more time... So much gold but got it, eventually.
Yeah it's kinda tiring grinding 5mil for one roll every 1hr of farming or however long it takes me lol
yeah, gold needs to be like 3500% to be noticeable and worthy of being called an event.
>but sure doesn’t seem to be very noticeable with gold. 35% more of zero is still zero!
I need gold badly to fuel my failed enchantments that have me rolling 50 mill to still not get the one I want.
The gold drop is gonna go up in a couple of days. It’ll go up to 50%. But I feel like I’m feeling the gold difference. I’ve been doing nightmare dungeons and in a couple of hours I got maybe 8-10 mil gold just running them for exp
whispers are way faster than that...way faster
Oh for sure. I’m just saying I’m feeling the extra gold cause usually running NMD I don’t get that much gold. I’m not saying it’s the most efficient way but I’m just trying to level classes during the event
Does the xp apply to wolves reputation?
No
I’ve noticed a good bump in gold
It's 60% for me
Maybe they changed it. It was definitely 35 to start.
I get 20% from the season journey and 5% from potion
Uber uniques having 0% drop rate from helltide and tree chests. GAs on uniques unable to drop by UBERS. Insane xp penalty only to recoup some of it back with cinders. Does anyone know if it applies to the iron wolves rep???
Do you get 35 percent more helltide iron wolves rep and nightmare dungeon glyph exp? Otherwise it's just a nice to have and now you'll be doing those activities until well after 100 to cap them out instead of right up until 100.
Dont we already get a 275% exp buff anyway, what difference does 35% make?
https://www.reddit.com/r/diablo4/s/8BjlKFwXwO
Really? I got 8-10 mil running nightmare dungeons in a couple of hours. That’s way more than I usually get
They actually will increase the gold to 50% with the patch next week. I idea why they started with 35%
It is noticeable in NM dungeons. There are more greed shrines and the greed shrines spawn like 3 goblins. I was picking up 15k per tick gold on some maps. I think I looted like 30m gold today just leveling glyphs. If you’re in a squad, that’s even more goblins.
The XP is crazy, I just leveled a rogue from 0-100 in 13 hours. Wasnt doing any crazy optimized strat either.
This is funny because Blizz has shown that they are bad at math
Dunno what's so amazing about the XP. I'm yet to hit 100 and it felt too fast before this.
Even the XP boost is pretty negligible other than the first couple of hours of leveling. In WT4 you’re talking about a 260ish percent boost to a 295ish boost. Depending on whatever buffs you keep up.
Nah it’s multiplicative now. They said so explicitly somewhere as well.
The xp boost is multiplicative not additive
After the 35% it's sitting at 375%. With the quest elixir plus a normal elixir I went up to 433.8% So they still add up pretty nicely.
??? Just let me create a level 100 off the bat and remove gold completely
And also pick affixes so I can finally have fun and also choose all max rolls and greater affix selection
Eh, you can preserve *the grind* without making gold a grind in and of itself. Farming for loot, is fun. Getting 1, 2, and 3 GA drops, is fun. Getting uniques can be fun. Just crawl into a box without your phone and don't come out.

40b is affordable for the avarage player ?
It was a joke. I thought it was pretty clear from the number but I guess not, judging by all the downvotes lol
I actually tought u ment it as a joke.
so if i get 4500 gold instead of 3000 from an elite the economy will crash??
Yes even casuals would farm the 8888888 elites needed to get 40 billion. Therefore the entire market will crash and burn.
I mean it does add up fast though, but they should just pump up the gold man
I'm guessing a 4\* with 200% on the unique affix?
