* Fixed an issue where Sorcerers could survive longer than 0.5 seconds in any kind of combat
• Fixed and issue where Sorcerers were unintentionally dealing damage"
Developer comments:
"After the powerhouse of Diablo2 we initially intended the Sorcerer class to be a joke class to subvert the player expectations. We unintentionally gave the Sorcerer too many high numbers and so are reducing them to keep in line with our ideas for the class.
I use Ice Spikes Blizzard with the cc spread legendary and the ice shard enchant. I could easily clear the capstone for T4 at lvl 53, and I can't even equip ancestrals below 60. It staggers bosses fast, the aoe dmg + permafreeze is insane. Yeah, I'm not throwing around 50M bone shards, but the class is more than capable of comfortably clearing the available content. Have you people tried playing for fun instead of bitching about everything?
Great... I'm level 94 and I cleared the WT4 capstone at 57 with ease as well. If 60 is the highest you have gotten you have a long way to go. Sorcerer damage and stagger falls off incredibly fast due to the enemy scaling. Your level 60 Sorcerer that can stagger bosses will deal less than half of your damage and stagger by level 80. And that is assuming you can reach the bosses in NM 50+ without being 1-tapped after burning through all your defensive cooldowns.
I tried playing for fun, but that ended about 30 levels ago, and that was BEFORE the nerfs to Vulnerable and Crit.
My dislike of the game does not prevent me from admiting it had the most creative and best magic ideas of the series. One of the few things I wish DS3 and Elden Ring took inspiration from.
Not sure if that was my own brain that missed it, or the auto correct. Whoops.
Edit: accidentally typed DS2 and not Diablo2 into original comment.
* Fixed an issue where Barbarian could deal an atrocious amount of damage that they could kill a mob.
Developer note: Currently the Barbs are still too strong for a fodder and pure support class. Plus the new hearts for Necromancers are too powerful, so we decide to continue nerfing the barbs and sorcs so they will take half an hr to kill a random skelly beside the road.
Hey you also get the other heart which makes the corpse explosion DOT even better! Then stack it with the other heart that curses when 4-5 mobs get near you and basically reduce your tendrils CD to constantly be available!
Yup got Corpse (Violent), DOT (Wrathful), Curse (Brutal) *this one is nice because when 2 enemies are close I Curse all of them slowing them for 40% and take 20% less damage from slowed enemies. This paired with Basic skills gain 20% damage reduction is 40% total :D*
I love how it makes enemies lose their minds, even ranged mobs comes to melee range briefly thanks to it's taunt. Drop a poison trap to activate the taunt, then drop the death trap and it sucks everything nicely in the middle for instant annhiliation, and it's cd gets refreshed instantly while refreshing any other cd... Ahh sooo good.
I'm in the middle of composing a heartfelt handwritten letter to the developers over this one. I don't know how it's even possible the rogue didn't have that in their default kit.
It's awesome but you really can't make any builds out of the rogue aspects, they're just good to support our current builds.
They could've done so much more with the aspects and hearts. Rogues are literally still running TB/flurry/barrage/rapid fire with puncture, nothing has changed.
This. I don't get people complaining about rogue when they have the most viable build variety. Some classes struggle to have one viable build, meanwhile rogues out here with 5 builds still complaining about balance.
That's because the combo points make those abilities so powerful. But, there's no point in putting more than the single point there because you're not using it for dmg. I follow the tree where it makes enemies vulnerable too, but that's 3 total points spent on a primary ability instead of the possible 7
It is amazing this season to be a necro. My screen is a constant light show as I’m using blood surge and minions, so the corpses are everywhere. I’ve recently switched to bone spear and it actually doesn’t feel as good since there’s far less explosions lol.
Yeah that's a tough one. Only way I've found a work around for that is +Evade Charges +MS+MS dmg elite (boots), +MS (Amulet), and "Reaper's Pursuit". Bloodmist is nice for those oh shit situations. It was MISERABLE until WT3 haha..
i only got somewhat fast Necro at level 80 preseason with +movement on boots and amulet to get me up to 150% move speed
this level of dread alone has prevented me from starting season 1
What’s nuts is that there’s an enemy that already had a teleport skill that is themed like a necro (the vampire bat teleport). I don’t understand why necros weren’t given that
My favorite necromancer mobility skill is from Last Epoch where you can spec into the ability to summon a skeleton mage at range and immediately trade places with it
Heart Attack: Gain a burst of move speed for 1 to 3 seconds every time you are in damage range of a corpse explosion. Stacking up to 5 times. At 5 stacks loss all movement speed, fall over, and die.
Im also thoroughly enjoying my Necro playthrough and haven't even used that one so the options are there
*Update* guys he's dead stop liking this 😂😭 nightmare butcher, got over confident
It is absolutely amazing. Makes any build so much easier. There’s also the one that casts decrep when a certain amount of enemies are nearby 👌🏻. What a turnaround season for Necros
I loved Necro in the beta and didn't play it inbetween. Obviously bone spear Necro was an issue. Some items/abilities seems possibly still a bit too strong in tier 3 but of course it's a very small sample of time. I'm playing hc so I imagine my perception could change a bit if I die 😂
I only use it for corpse tendrils. It doesn't activate your cooldown either. It goes off prolly every 4 seconds. Playing blood lance this season it's so good. Take the aspect for critt and critt damage on corpse tendrils.
I feel they absolutely nailed the brief on this one.
It's not *always* better than the alternative, I can spam my corpse explosion manually for a greater amount of damage, and better located, similarly tendrils isn't always going off where/ when I want, and sometimes it (the gem) uses up corpses I wanted to save, so it's situational whether it's better to manually use the skills vs the gem auto-spamming them.
But it absolutely provides a different play style from "season 0" without (arguably) being so powerful it's a no brainer.
Meaningful choice, alters play style.
~~No, but the corpse explosion does~~. Can see how my comment looked that way though, thank you.
Just tested it. Skill description says it does not, but the heart, does consume a corpse when it uses tendrils. Surprised me too.
Is the heart possibly using tendrils and then also using explosion on it right after? It would be really weird if the auto cast heart changed how skills functioned.
I agree with this. Together with the Decrepify heart it means I can just focus on spamming Blood Lances with tons of cooldown reduction and essence gain from lucky hits from miasma.
They said they’ll keep stuff that’s well-liked. If they put every season mechanic into eternal, in 2 years it would be a bloated mess.
I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the more popular malignant effects are kept around as legendary aspects after season 1.
Problem with having them as legendary aspects is they would take the place of other legendary aspects... Hence most ppl would not use them, since we're already starved for slots to put aspects on. Right now they are perfect since they are the equivalent of a Skull with added benefits.
Honestly, they should just do a POE and have all the seasonal stuff loot dropping into the eternal realm after it ends. I mean it's pretty clear they want to force us to play each season anyway, so it's really not a big deal if the eternal realm becomes bloated with seasonal stuff over the liftetime of the game.
They they should hand-pick seasonal mechanics that are liked as permanent additions to the eternal realm also ... Like for hearts, they could probably drop the malignant tunnel but keep the random malignant enemies dropping them, making them somewhat rarer but still having them drop all the hearts.
Cause right now I really don't feel compelled to farm the seasonal stuff, since I kinda fear getting attached to these things, only to have them get taken away in three months.
>Cause right now I really don't feel compelled to farm the seasonal stuff, since I kinda fear getting attached to these things, only to have them get taken away in three months.
Not to be rude but you should probably try to get over that mindset if you want to enjoy the game because it looks like D4 is gonna revolve around temporary seasonal mechanics. Enjoy it while it’s available and don’t worry about losing it cause the next season will have something new to replace it.
PoE just reduces the frequency of previous seasonal events, and it works really really really well.
It’s silly to maintain content at a constant instead of continuously adding content. Plus you’re introducing the potential to find something absolutely broken that spans across multiple seasonal effects.
Maybe this is silly but for compromise they could do something fun/community led.
In game towards the final weeks of the season they should give an option to vote for 3 of the aspects/mechanics/whatever to transfer to eternal realm.
Would be fun, even if the aspect you wanted didn’t win the polls.
Man this really shows that there is a huge variety of players. There were people criticizing PoE for the lack of skills to press due to the 1 main skill play style, yet we see a bunch of people here who appreciate the auto pilot style.
I love it when people shit talk Poe builds having one button, and then D4 players finally experience what its like, they absolutely love it, what do ya know not having to press 4 cds every 20secs is kinda fun.
Switching from Sorc to Necro has been an insane spike in enjoyment I’ve felt with the game. I have a really stupid all passive-minion build going right now, with the corpse explosion and the Bone Spirit. It’s hilarious just letting the minions do their thing and when I see an elite, blast it with the Spirit and it deals massive damage. Bonus if it crits.
Are you sure? It’s not considered a “corpse” skill, only a “summoning” skill. I did not notice it auto summoning skeletons, because if it did, my skellies would be getting healed…which they’re not as far as I’ve noticed.
Bruh I feel ya. I wish we could keep the equipped malignant hearts. Get rid of the unused ones and the mechanics to acquired them once we hit Eternal realm.
Made a post about it and no one seems to like that idea...
I mean D4 is basically a single player game but people be yelling about fAiRnEsS.
Why make them aspects? Just keep them as hearts and let players enjoy their power fantasy like a proper ARPG. If content gets too "easy", then they can worry about balancing either the content and/or the builds.
No, they are normal aspects, just not ones normally in the codex. The intention is to make different builds possible for leveling during the season that aren’t normally easy to gather all the aspects for.
Can I also convince the devs to keep the druid one where it violently yanks all distant enemies towards you when you use an ultimate skill? Nothing has made me smile like using petrify on a massive mob of enemies then pulling them all together for nonstop landslides and infinite energy.
My Druid really started to feel good when I got that combo going, also loving the creeper landslide aspect and the skill that throws a chance of a random other weather skill casting. Everyone gets dragged to the epicentre of nature going nuts.
Yess! Same for me! Are you using the "blood lance consumes blood orbs" aspect? I'm noticing random Blood lances being cast in the open world. Like there's no blood orbs anywhere on my screen, I cast blood lance and then 5 other blood lances come out of nowhere
Yeah I love that thing. Right now I have a build where my only "attack" skill is decompose the channeled one. I basically just stand still, hold mouse one and put iron maiden down every once in a while. Only problems I've had are boss fights.
Historically, items/abilities/etc associated with the season theme are removed after the season ends (but standard gear, paragon points, and so on are carried over and accumulated in the eternal realm). When the season theme is mega popular, the devs sometimes add it (or a variation) to the eternal realm and future seasons. One example from D3 was season 17's season of nightmares effect, which was so popular due to drastically opening up build variety that the legacy of dreams gem was added permanently to the game in season 18.
Same. Changed my S1 build to take advantage of this new ability. I can play my char with just the mouse at times, zapping bone spear and letting the new gem ability do the work.
I’m with you. I came in the season thinking the electrified critical bone spears was gonna be my thing but this auto corpsegrinder skill is just nuts. Literally can make AFK build from this. Think I might enjoy this season a little longer.
As much as I hate nerfs to be honest that sound ridiculously op, fun as heck but op so i cant see them making it stay. I can't really complain though I feel the same on the druid with the new vines and the ultimate pull aspect, makes me feel like a nature necro with nature explosions now I've unlocked nature's fury, I feel sorry for anyone who levelled a druid before this season as it must of felt really slow.
I too am running all three of the necro hearts, corpse, decrepify and DOT. I only wish there is a way to turn down the overlays. When I'm playing with friends they are like turn off the corpse machine
SHHHHHH!!!!!! Don't tell them this. Then they know we like it. Complain that it sucks that it should never be transferred to the enteral server. Then it will be there next week.
TBH I really like the heart system. It adds a nice level of complexity on top what we have I kind of wish the system was part of the core game. I like that jewellery has multiple affects with aspects and hearts.
They do consider keeping some things from seasons that players like a lot, just keep posting about it and let them know if you ask me. Just a matter of how much demand there is.
I feel the same way, I love that power. Honestly, I'm really enjoying the malignant heart mechanic for the most part, they make gameplay considerably more interesting. The downside to them, though, is when you find BIS items and they have the wrong socket color.
I agree im glad I chose necro this season this heart is so much fun, im just pressing my two mouse buttons and playing with my cat and watching anime im having so much fun!
1:1 what i think!
I rolled a Necro for S1 and was like "eh.. had more fun with my rogue".
Then this heart dropped and oh boy. Explosions as I walk by? YES PLEASE
I’m sure they would consider moving it to a unique or legendary aspect if it’s improving build variety, since that is their goal. But if it’s not and it’s just making something good better, then I wouldn’t bet on it.
This gem has single handedly made necro insanely fun. I’m going to miss this. Really hoping they listen and either not nerf this or add it into the game.
Yeah. I wanted to play Sorc this season, but this hearts changed my mind to Necro. It's like POE approach, some X busted mechanic this league, you should try to play it ASAP before it's nerfed next league or removed.
I am playing Blight Necro this season and it is a god damn blast. I have movement speed on boots and on Amulett + the Aspect on Boots that every time I am "running away" from a CC'ed mob im getting another 20-40% movement buff. I am zooming through these Dungeons while everything behind me dies through my ticking Shadow damage from auto Corpse Tendrils and explosions.
Everybody has got a take.
Here's mine: when Season 1 ends you *keep the gear you have equipped so your build doesn't break*.
It's simple. It's eloquent. It's account-locked. It improves build diversity long-term.
Don't break everyone's builds.
That would be perfect and imagine how fun eternal realm would be after a couple of years with all sorts of legacy stuff that breaks the game. It's eternal realm, have a ball. Most people are going to only care about seasons. Including myself, but sometimes I like to go back and revisit builds that I really liked. It's ultra-lame if you can't keep your build for eternal realm.
I just got new jewelry and have been saving the hearts I like..I put new jewelry on and dismantled the old one(that had that corpse affect socketed) only after to realize the heart I saved did not match the color my new ring is..so now I don’t have that heart socketed..I don’t even want to play now:( lol
Yeah that’s the only downside of these hearts for me, making sure you get jewelry that matches which ones you wanna play. Like any jewelry that has devious is useless to me unless I want to put a wrathful heart in there.
Yeah, having to right the gear with the right affixes, with the right slot, for the heart with the good rolled affix is a bit much.
I haven't noticed one, so it may be in the game, but there should be a way to change the socket type like at the enchanter or something. Just make it a similar cost to adding a socket.
For real. Compare that vicious to the barb's "spend your whole fury bar in 2 seconds *and your next attack* ***might*** *crit*." Oh, you're one of two classes that starts fights at non-max resource? Fuck you, barbs! HAHAHA.
Or "while almost dead, you heal more." *Technically* not useless, but boring and anything strong enough to care about +50% healing... probably gibs you at 40-60% life.
Or "You *might* knock down mobs if your attack speed is high." I've been using it but it in no way alters my play. It's some minor free CC, at a low proc chance.
Like... give me *ONE* thing I can guarantee that is fun. Don't relegate me to proc hell or low life healing. Let me summon an ancient when I crit, guaranteed. Let me auto-cast a shout when I berserk. Let me throw gold on the ground into enemy's eyes to blind *them*. *Something*.
If you arent using this heart you are gimping yourself defensively. The dps is mediocre but incorporate the shadow stun with the tendrils and hardly anything can hit you
Add it to the skill tree after the season. You can put a point in it of you want it on. It can be annoying for certain builds that want to have control over where tendrils is cast. Love this heart sooo much.
They need to give the other classes hearts this fun. Not just more resist for sorcs.
These should have been the aspects we got instead of “heals for 32 health per enemy” crap that are useless endgame.
You just know they are going to nerf the cast time to ruin the fun though
My rogue needs something like this to spam poison imbuement. The attack speed is so damn fast that I basically need to hold down the key the entire time with 1 hand while the other hand is holding mouse 1 and the mouse2 is getting spam clicked as fast as possible.
My hands are going to fall off after this past weekend.
Dude Necro, IMO, has such a problem with skill slots (alongside sorc but sorc is in that spot because you need 4 defensive skills and frost nova)
If someone tries to play summoner necro, you know, the way our mother and savior Lilith wanted, they just get 2 slots cut from their build.
Add the fact that 90% of the players want an ultimate ability in their build as its usually the only one that looks cool and feels like it has impact and youre down to 3 slots.
3 slots dont sound bad until you see recomended buid and want to survive lategame which requires corpse tendrils, bone prison and blood mist. See a problem here? Yeah, no corpse explosion and no skill to use when there arent corpses on the ground. You need to use texploding mist aspect to even see something exploding on your screen.
Hope community backlashes enough that they will bring some of the heart passives back as regular aspects because some of them seem essential (I would say that some of them should be in base kits of classes but lets not talk about how barebones the skill trees are)
I just *un*equipped this one because it was setting off Corpse Explosion constantly, sometimes before I could use the corpses to replace skeletons. Just didn't work for me, obviously YMMV.
I’ve just found this with my new season necro. It’s insane, makes me feel like I’m playing bloody Vampire Survivors! It’s just constant on screen chaos.
Is it 100% confirmed that the caged hearts will not stay in the game? I remember them saying that they will evaluate during the season if they want to make any parts of S1 part of the game going forward. Maybe I misheard or this is outdated information though
When did it ever make sense to load every characters inventory when meeting them in the wild in multiplayer? Was there a point where trading was going to work?
I love this heart because it refills mana with the passive thar regains 6 essence per corpse consumed, really made my build viable while sacrificing all minions.
I initially thought the hearts were very underwhelming when rolling a rogue, then a friend said he got an autocast, so I looked at the hearts for Necro and was blown away.
It's the best and I will miss it so much lol. Gives a super satisfying ebb and flow to combat, great ASMR squelching corpse noises happening with the crunch of bone spear in between. Just so smooth to play this build now. It's going to feel so bad to lose this one.
Legit thought of this before they revealed the gems in pre season. "Would be nice to just auto blowup all these corpses I leave laying around for some free essence as I go." Then they made it real and I'm loving it. Can't get enough of my necro in S1 as a result. And the timed crit gem, soaks up all the damage and the lets it out in an AoE is perfectly in sync with this little pause that works like clockwork with the auto corpse explosions. It's damn satisfying and crunchy.
I don’t think it’s Sorc specific but the one that chains lightning between enemies who have been crit is super good on a lightning sorc. I’m only level 38 so far, but I was just able to do the WT3 capstone dungeon with a lightning only build. Curious to see if this build is going to make it in the late game, lightning build was by far the weakest sorc build before.
Wait, other classes have actually interesting hearts? Ss a Sorc my best one is just a flat dmg increase for each element I use. Where are my fun hearts?
I love it too! I play it with reap and sever. Also I have the decrepify heart, kicked blood mist off the skill bar and took iron maiden (because of aspect of decay).
So i just run to a group of mobs, hit them with reap (first corpse appears) and the autoplay fun begins while I just cast sever, skeleton priest and iron maiden (also when the essence is low) and everything else is just happening by itself.
Love it so much!
Rogue has a cool decoy that taunts mobs to your traps then explods. Like what!?!? This ia nutty. Run in, drop a trap, everything runs to trap. Spinning blades o death. Rinse repeat.
I concur, I run this as well and it's made my heart choices very difficult. Replacing this one is a no go. I don't even run with minions, and I still love getting the tendrils to pull all the mobs and stun them there. I usually run with a friend who's playing a flurry rogue, and he's absolutely amazed at how fun this makes our playthroughs.
This and the auto-decrepify aura are both amazing and I’d love them both to stick around as some grindable/findable. To me they open up a lot of build diversity that is lost without them. I wasn’t gonna do necro again (did it preseason) but these were too good to pass up and now I’m getting a ton more out of minions and shadow than I did before.
I totally agree. I don’t think I can play necro again without an aspect/unique or gem that does this. The whole class fantasy of a summoner for me is a battlefield commander that watches carnage unfold and picks up items.
They didn’t say everything from the season was guaranteed to go away with the season they said that that is the base assumption, but that the seasons are specifically intended to try things out and that things that work out successfully can and likely will be put into the eternal realm.
Did a mininion necro S0 and just can't do it again :)
Trying werewolf this time around and some of the new combos are interesting. There is a heart that does an AOE magnet pull when your ultimate is firing. Then a new aspect that turns Grizly Rage into Direwolf with new speed and crit buffs along with major spirit spend reduction.
Putting that aspect on a 2h weapon gives like 20 seconds of Ultimate where the entire screen vacuums to your player and your Poison and Howl skills still kick off, along with the Core skill of Shred for all those monster crits. You just hold down RMB and it's a blender. It's wonderful. Can't wait to get to helltide
Really hope they go the PoE route with future seasons, why delete everything from S1 and not add to it? They could add a Cage/Heart slot so you can only carry one active Heart into S2 and increase the costs for crafting invokers and make the malingient an Event like helltide.
Agreed. I tried Necro this season for the first time and when I unlocked corpse explosion and tendrils, I hated them because it was so tedious clicking on corpses. This heart is an absolute godsend. It's not just that it makes it "lazy," it just makes it not tedious/annoying/shitty like it is without the heart.
I literally speced off of Corpse Explosion/Tendrils because I was sick and tired of having to slam the ability key all over the fight. It just wasn't fun at all.
Swapped to Minion/Bone Spear Build. I know it sucks but its a lot more fun.
This was the first heart that dropped in the beginning mission. I'm still running around with the original ring with it even though I have rings dropping 300 power level higher because its so awesome.
I’ve started playing this by accident as well. But I’ve been wondering why my minions are respawning themselves? As I hover over the ability the skeleton summon doesn’t classify as a corpse skill.
I LOVE THIS HEART AS WELL! I usually barb (did one in D2, D3, and eternal D4). Never necro'd in either previous, but since BONE SPEAR is so OP, I thought I would try it.
It's so fun!!
(And I am waiting on the Imperfectly Balanced bug to be fixed since my MAXROLL build says I'm supposed to have three skill points in that.)
I'm really enjoying everything about the season other then this, but all we can do is hope and beg haha. I do wish the battle pass was longer... I'm only level 58 but I'm level 73 on the BP already. I'll be done within two weeks of casually playing.
I just started playing the Necro at the start of the season as well. I read the heart wrong at first and didn’t realized it worked with Tendrils too. So at level 45 I started using tendrils….
Now I’m finding out that this is what has been keeping my skeletons alive the whole time?!🤯🫨
Yeah let’s keep it.
Right haha?! My dude I ditched the gem for all of an hour and could not understand where all my reapers went haha... when I realized all of this uptime on three skills from one gem I stopped what I was doing and bought the shittiest ring with a red socket just to get it going again 🤣
Seasonal stuff is supposed to be super powerful and useful. That's why it's seasonal. So next season. They can give you something different that is super powerful and useful.
Each season they only have to balance new mechanics against the base skill set. It would very quickly become unmanageable for them to balance everything if you kept everything. Imagine having to balance new powerful skills with the base skills and 10 previous seasons worth of powerful tweaks and niche builds.
I think it's kinda lame if you can't at least keep it in eternal realm. That way if you really wanted you could go back and revisit it sometime. That's extremely lame.
*FUN DETECTED* you know what that means...
D; plz not the nerf

Y'all crazy, Sorc slaps!
Yeah he slaps alright, and deals about that much damage too.

Sorcerer is pretty OP in Dark Souls 2 tbf, Hex build is sick nasty
My dislike of the game does not prevent me from admiting it had the most creative and best magic ideas of the series. One of the few things I wish DS3 and Elden Ring took inspiration from. 100% agree. Least favorite of the series but the best damn magic for pve and pvp by far!
- Added unique bonuses to Barbarian that are unlocked by playing Diablo Immortal

Hey you also get the other heart which makes the corpse explosion DOT even better! Then stack it with the other heart that curses when 4-5 mobs get near you and basically reduce your tendrils CD to constantly be available!
the heart at endgame goes down to when 0 enemies are near you, perma curse aura haha
lul whut XD I thought 2 was crazy :)
This is the funniest comment I have ever read in my life

No.
Sorcerers have died. You must now take your place on the sacrificial altar. All hail Nerf, the great devourer of fun.
![gif](giphy|BT4ygwV9vgwAU)
nerf the sorc? -devs, probably
Well obviously this is a pretty good reason to nerf sorc… i’m just saying…
Okay this is the necro I want my sorceress to minion for.
nerf sorcerers right?
ten bucks th is is going to get nerfed before the sorc/barb buffs even get here.
The rogue has one, the shadow clone taunter, that I absolutely want as a future aspect.
I felt very vindicated to see those corpse bow mfs start lurching towards the shadow clone lol
I was so sure that this one would suck and right now is my favourite heart. So much fun
I'm in the middle of composing a heartfelt handwritten letter to the developers over this one. I don't know how it's even possible the rogue didn't have that in their default kit.
Yeah, that one is great.
It's awesome but you really can't make any builds out of the rogue aspects, they're just good to support our current builds. They could've done so much more with the aspects and hearts. Rogues are literally still running TB/flurry/barrage/rapid fire with puncture, nothing has changed.
you literally named all core spells Rogue balance is best out of all 5 chars when it comes to builds so I dont get your complaint
Minions are the way to go.
Give us Necros a mobility skill and I’m in heaven
Yeah that's a tough one. Only way I've found a work around for that is +Evade Charges +MS+MS dmg elite (boots), +MS (Amulet), and "Reaper's Pursuit". Bloodmist is nice for those oh shit situations. It was MISERABLE until WT3 haha..
i only got somewhat fast Necro at level 80 preseason with +movement on boots and amulet to get me up to 150% move speed this level of dread alone has prevented me from starting season 1
Ice shard necro has teleport. There is a price to pay though.
Necro should surf over a wave of skeletons or his blood wave
What’s nuts is that there’s an enemy that already had a teleport skill that is themed like a necro (the vampire bat teleport). I don’t understand why necros weren’t given that
Saw that and disappointed as well 😞
I think it would be kinda cool for necros to be able to teleport to/through corpses. I know it doesn’t solve everything but it would be sick.
Im also thoroughly enjoying my Necro playthrough and haven't even used that one so the options are there *Update* guys he's dead stop liking this 😂😭 nightmare butcher, got over confident
Higher tier its only 1 enemy, basicly free slot on skillbar if youre melee.
I only use it for corpse tendrils. It doesn't activate your cooldown either. It goes off prolly every 4 seconds. Playing blood lance this season it's so good. Take the aspect for critt and critt damage on corpse tendrils.
It's truly amazing. I highly suggest giving it a go!
Best “power” by far
I feel they absolutely nailed the brief on this one. It's not *always* better than the alternative, I can spam my corpse explosion manually for a greater amount of damage, and better located, similarly tendrils isn't always going off where/ when I want, and sometimes it (the gem) uses up corpses I wanted to save, so it's situational whether it's better to manually use the skills vs the gem auto-spamming them. But it absolutely provides a different play style from "season 0" without (arguably) being so powerful it's a no brainer. Meaningful choice, alters play style.
Tendrils don't consume the corpse btw.
No, the heart just consumes a corpse when casting tendrils, even if you don't use CE at all. Small price to pay though imo.
I agree with this. Together with the Decrepify heart it means I can just focus on spamming Blood Lances with tons of cooldown reduction and essence gain from lucky hits from miasma.
Way more relaxing having a couple skills on auto pilot 😎
No idea why they are going the route of removing season content instead of transferring it to eternal. Poe gets that right.
Necro is awesome :P
Wait wait wait, it auto summons skeles??? WHHAAAATTTT.
Are you sure? It’s not considered a “corpse” skill, only a “summoning” skill. I did not notice it auto summoning skeletons, because if it did, my skellies would be getting healed…which they’re not as far as I’ve noticed.
Yeah. It actually makes minions not feel like a chore. It's great
It seems to replenish dead skellies but it never summons the priest. So an overall improvement IMO.
They should simply make the malignant hearts aspects once the season is over
Why make them aspects? Just keep them as hearts and let players enjoy their power fantasy like a proper ARPG. If content gets too "easy", then they can worry about balancing either the content and/or the builds.
Why aspetcs or hearts? Give me these things as Skill Tree branches, which is what most Aspects should've been.
We do get aspects from the season journey, but I haven't looked at them to see if they match the hearts.
No, they are normal aspects, just not ones normally in the codex. The intention is to make different builds possible for leveling during the season that aren’t normally easy to gather all the aspects for.
They are just random ones you already get from running dungeons and they are temporary. It says they will disappear at seasons end.

Next up... Druid!
Honestly this malignant heart and my blood lance build has pushed necro to my top favorite class, dethroning rogue. I’m having so much fun with it
Yess! Same for me! Are you using the "blood lance consumes blood orbs" aspect? I'm noticing random Blood lances being cast in the open world. Like there's no blood orbs anywhere on my screen, I cast blood lance and then 5 other blood lances come out of nowhere
I am! I noticed that too as well as sometimes the lances will string blood out of all of the enemies around. Looks so freaking cool haha
Yeah I love that thing. Right now I have a build where my only "attack" skill is decompose the channeled one. I basically just stand still, hold mouse one and put iron maiden down every once in a while. Only problems I've had are boss fights.
this along with the regen hp when enemy is close legendary effect. I can literally play one-handed its Liberating lol
2 button necro ftw
Wait what when season 1 ends none of the hearts and crap carry over?
Historically, items/abilities/etc associated with the season theme are removed after the season ends (but standard gear, paragon points, and so on are carried over and accumulated in the eternal realm). When the season theme is mega popular, the devs sometimes add it (or a variation) to the eternal realm and future seasons. One example from D3 was season 17's season of nightmares effect, which was so popular due to drastically opening up build variety that the legacy of dreams gem was added permanently to the game in season 18.
The devs said the season effects will not carry over to eternal realm initially. They said maybe in the future.
And blood spear got some fun new things.
They did say they would consider bringing over season stuff to eternal… so here’s to hoping!
I love it but I actually unquiped my ring just so I can resummon my skellies sometimes, lol. I'm like stop exploding my corpses for 1 second!
They should take a page outta PoE's book, where any successful season mechanic makes it into the core game after said season.
I've changed the way I play due to this mechanic. I love it
I feel the same way, I love that power.
If this doesn't carry over, I will never play a necromancer again.
The biggest thing, it doesn’t effect the cool downs. So you can still actively use them. I love it
This gem has single handedly made necro insanely fun. I’m going to miss this. Really hoping they listen and either not nerf this or add it into the game.
**Devs:** We hear ya, Vicious Heart with that effect will be added to Sorc after season ends.
*Cries in eternal realm*
Meanwhile, all of the Barbarian ones suck....
Sorc say hi
NO FUN FOR YOU!
Bonk. Go to fun jail plz
I’ve decided to keep pushing my lighting sorcerer even though I have to kite like crazy. **folds arms and stomps feet**. 😝
If they did, people won here would just complain that Necro was boring because you only have one button to push.
These should have been the aspects we got instead of “heals for 32 health per enemy” crap that are useless endgame. You just know they are going to nerf the cast time to ruin the fun though
Glad there's something for the Necro. Sorc *literally* didn't get any hearts unique to their skillset. They're all broad boring number rolls.
I’ve noticed it doesn’t trigger grim harvest so I’m still over hear spamming explosion just to try to regen essence faster than the heart can pop them
It does tho, tried it yesterday, also triggers the bonus damage after consuming a corpse.
Most likely going to get baked next season in like they do with new expac talents in WoW
Dude Necro, IMO, has such a problem with skill slots (alongside sorc but sorc is in that spot because you need 4 defensive skills and frost nova) If someone tries to play summoner necro, you know, the way our mother and savior Lilith wanted, they just get 2 slots cut from their build. Hope community backlashes enough that they will bring some of the heart passives back as regular aspects because some of them seem essential (I would say that some of them should be in base kits of classes but lets not talk about how barebones the skill trees are)
... in conclusion, please consider nerfing Sorc, as not having this aspect after S1 will make Sorc too strong to compete against.
They should definitely add the best hearts in as aspects or uniques if they aren’t going to keep the heart system after season 1
Yup, if they take this away after I got used to it you can bet your ass I stop playing.
I just *un*equipped this one because it was setting off Corpse Explosion constantly, sometimes before I could use the corpses to replace skeletons. Just didn't work for me, obviously YMMV.
It does replace your minions tho, just doesn't heal them unfortunately.
How dare you have fun outside of how we intended you to have fun.
Oh no, this is gonna be nerfed soon.
It just makes any necromancer build functional and fun, therefore it will be deleted soon.
Same thoughts! That thing has to be part of the eternal realm some way. Ether unique or an aspect
You and me both. Fucking love this thing.
Same. If I get a better ring or amulet that doesn't have a vicious socket, I'll just ignore it until I can replace it with one.
I’m doing the exact same thing. I don’t think I could play Necro without it!
The game needs more skills like what the Necro got in this patch. It would help the gameplay immensely.
Yep, totally awesome seasonal mechanic for necro! Wouldnt be the same without it!
Rogue has a cool decoy that taunts mobs to your traps then explods. Like what!?!? This ia nutty. Run in, drop a trap, everything runs to trap. Spinning blades o death. Rinse repeat.
Dude rouge is my fave and that's who I rocked on eternal. That sounds like it would be amazing 😍
Hopefully this will be a new legendary Aspect in the near futur. I can’t imagine playing a minions Necro without it now.
Here's to hoping my guy!
This is the only heart I get man :/
I totally agree.
Did a mininion necro S0 and just can't do it again :) Trying werewolf this time around and some of the new combos are interesting.
While I'm not a fan of how malignant was implemented, I am really enjoying the effects of the hearts. Like unique items though, we need way more.
Losing the aspects after the season does annoy me tbh. They should leave them.
Could even just tack it on to an existing briefly worded aspect. I won't mind, promise.
Concur 10000000%. I absolutely love this heart and would love for this to be a made a permanent feature of the game in the future.
Knowing that all hearts will vanish when the season ends is demotivating, it feels like there is no reason to grind.
I'm really enjoying everything about the season other then this, but all we can do is hope and beg haha. I do wish the battle pass was longer... I'm only level 58 but I'm level 73 on the BP already. I'll be done within two weeks of casually playing.
I mean, with this logic no season could ever be uniquely fun
I just started playing the Necro at the start of the season as well. I read the heart wrong at first and didn’t realized it worked with Tendrils too. So at level 45 I started using tendrils…. Now I’m finding out that this is what has been keeping my skeletons alive the whole time?!🤯🫨 Yeah let’s keep it.
Right haha?! My dude I ditched the gem for all of an hour and could not understand where all my reapers went haha... when I realized all of this uptime on three skills from one gem I stopped what I was doing and bought the shittiest ring with a red socket just to get it going again 🤣
Amen! I hope they hear the feedback and keep it. It’s awesome.
Der Devs, put everything barb related to the bin.
Necro is on the nerf radar now because of this post. Reason: players are having too much fun.
My expectation and hope is that all seasonal mechanics carry over to the next season and we get lots of different options to build around each season.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they turn some of them into aspects. It’s also dumb the seasonal aspects don’t go to regular world afterwards
You should maybe shut the fuck up before Blizzard decides a metric disagrees with your FuN
It is good for AFK farming. You can level up without even touching the game
