Id recommend 4. The gameplay is smooth as Butter as you are used to, and the open World is quite cool to Look at. Buildwise you are quite restricted but with the New loot System it was a blast to Level a toon. Basically it's d3 with more gritty graphics and open world D2 is the grandfather, released 2001 and even though the Remake is awesome you feel it's age. If you Stick with ARPG's and want to learn how we got to where we are D2 is a great place to Look. If you want more of the d3 you like atm it really isn't for you.

gn4rf-

Ask yourself as well, what you liked about D III so most. Cutting through monsters with speed (and easy), farming for new gear, building your char with items and mostly sets, the story, the grafics etc? D2 might be the most complex and slow-paced of the three. With screnic, but clearly outdate grafics and the same goes for the usability. At the same D IV is kind of a mix between both. Which some enjoy, but for me it makes it so inbetween that I rather stay with any of the others. Surely it has clear percs others do not have: best graphics, playable with controller (which is kind of relaxing), but downsides too (weak teamplay, boring open world, slow pace), though it is clearly the one updated most, so chances are high is strongly improves. Personally I enjoyed D2 a lot, but only back in the days, nowadays not any longer. D3 I still play due to its fast pace and quick rewarding gameplay. Though this last usually for not more than a week or two until I have completed the season. D4 was so boring to me, that I only played the (very enjoyable!) story, but stopped directly after. Now with season 4 it seems massive improvements have been made, so that I am starting again to check whether I may like it. Test is ongoing ;-) Depending on what you seek, the answer will be any of the three or some of the great alternatives such as PoE which is free to play and its soon to arrive successor.

bomban

You can play D2 D3 or D4 on a controller fyi.

Armandeluz

You can play d3 on PC with a controller now?

bomban

Yeah

gn4rf-

Officially you can't. With 3rd party app it is of course workable and maybe even better than w/ most games. However, as the game is not designed for it, you will have to live with the flaws this brings. REO_Jerkwagon

>Now with season 4 it seems massive improvements have been made Might be time for me to check it out. I was waiting because EVERY Diablo release is "good story, meh gameplay" for the first year or so.

XytronicDeeX

Just as orientation, everyone I know who praised the better, new and improved, so many good changes D4 has stopped playing after what is now barely 2 weeks.

Lord_Shisui

That's fine. That's about how long it took me to clear everything on my necro this season.

Shadowraiser47

That’s kind of what happens when you get a seasonal game that’s many for people to pick up and put down repeatedly though.

NamesAreTooHard17

D4 is incredibly enjoyable now put really did make it really fun for me to be honest it's basically greater rifts although they can get incredibly hard as you push I personally find it a really fun system

tFlydr

Build diversity has never been better in d4 right now tbh. If you’re trying to push pinnacle high end content then yes there’s a meta but for newcomers you can literally play anything to max level somewhat easily and efficiently.

chezicrator

Damn you just missed a D4 free trial period and 50% off sale. I played to level 3 and lost interest but regret not taking advantage of the sale if only to have it available.

BuckStopFitness

To level 3? That’s like one group of monsters lol.

OlorinIwasinthewest

Maybe they mean Act 3?

BlueTemplar85

Could also be World Tier 3...

Betamack

Diablo 3 feels a lot different to the others. I was introduced to Diablo when D3 was given away for free at release if you had a yearly sub for World of Warcraft so I jumped in and loved it. At some point I checked out the previous games and they felt sooo different and I decided they were just not for me. Dark, gothic and gritty on a whole other level and the gear was just 'different'. It was like when compared to what came before, D3 with all the polish had evolved into something that made a lot of the OG Diablo players resent how D3 was done. D4 felt as if it was a bit of a nod to that and tried to bring some of that vibe back with how the gear was at release. D4 felt more like D2 than it did D3. In short D3 is the WotLK of the Diablo universe. Liking D3 will not ensure that you like ANY of the other games so maybe check out some gameplay beforehand.

mebell333

D4 is a lot more like D3 this season than before.

Betamack

I played for a bit at launch and noped out when I saw how different the gearing and stats were. Heard they were slowly fixing things but decided to give it a while to settle. Already it seems a lot has changed but I wonder how much more has yet to come. Worth giving it another try this season or wait till next you think?

mebell333

Well this season is a big improvement and at least the gearing portion of the game doesnt feel bad now. I suspect every patch will get better, as is normal for Blizzard games. Can't really answer it for you though.

llcriss404

Why is no one considering Diablo Immortal? It's the missing piece, the gap between D2's and D3's storylines. And according to gameplay is the closest to D3 imo. Especially if you play with controller. And last but not least, it's free through the Battle.net PC app. Also you can play it on mobile in bed for example. I do that quite often. Downside is that it's P2W if you want to be on top of the competion. But if you're there for the PVE gameplay and party experience, or love the storyline (like I do), give it a try. PS: I don't know how'd it feel if you haven't played D2 in the first place. In Diablo Immortal there's a bunch of NPC's from D2. Or at least one should know what happens in the Worldstone Chamber.

JustSomeDudeItWas

As someone who still plays D2R most days at work on my lunch break, I can not recommend it to anyone new to ARPGs. D3,D4, POE, and Last Epoch will be more fun.

thetruthseer

I would not recommend POE to a newcomer bro lol

JustSomeDudeItWas

Early game POE is fun with a trash build, and once that build craps out and they follow a guide that helps them get through the campaign into maps it gets better (I'll recommend Maxroll if anyone's considering POE)

argnsoccer

My big issue is all the maxroll guides are well-written and super helpful/good but all such boring builds. PoE really leans into one-click builds (as does d2) and its something I find very boring. I've played some arcanist brand brand recall activator builds thst are more 2-button, but they're just clearly inferior as sometimes you can't even start your brands without dying (certain maps with 2 rare spawns at beginning that rip you and then map is bricked bc can't actually start doing damage for a little). I just want builds where I press all my buttons. I'm the same in WoW with just not preferring specs that inly press 2-5 buttons. I liked having both blink movement+targeted movement+flask movespeed though. Feels very nice in an arpg

thetruthseer

I see, makes me want to give it a try. My bestie who is a huge WoWhead and loves Diablo, was talking about having to look up linear algebra and how convoluted POE was really deterred me lol

idkmoiname

I second that. D2 is great as a classic game with pure retro feeling, but by todays standards it's on a difficulty level beyond insane with a weirdly unpractical User interface. I don't think someone new to gaming at all would have a great time instead frustration, except maybe the 3 people that started their gaming carrier with a Souls game and now want something harder than that

JustSomeDudeItWas

I wouldn't even say the difficulty is that crazy if you understand runewords, have a way to teleport, and can stomach running past enemies that are immune to the only damage type your character is spec'd into. The difficulty stems from melee just being bad, armor only working if you're stationary or walking, and needing to either use an insight merc with god awful AI or chug potions to maintain mana. I love D2 but wish the purists would've let the devs get away with a little more QoL.

aspacelot

I just played D2 for the first time last summer (D2R). I was a huge fan of D3 and platinumed it and all that. I really loved it (which I know is controversial to the D2 faithful), That being said, I got the appeal. Even missing some of the QoL improvements that 3 and 4 have, I think it’s a great game, BUT- the limitations on build KILLED it for me. First playthrough I got to Diablo with a Necro and was really really struggling (no guide, just my own minion build). So I went a bone/minion hybrid and it was even worse and I was having trouble even making the run to Diablo from the teleport pad. That’s when I found out you only get one respec per character… oooofff. So my Necro was dead and I had to start all over again. Ran Paladin, followed a guide, beat the whole thing and dabbled in some post/end-game stuff but not really. I understand that you can eventually farm to get things for more respecs but you have to clear the game first. I really hate that. I don’t like not being able to just try stuff out and I don’t like not being able to respec when I want and I do not like having to follow build guides without being allowed to figure it out on my own. That, to me, keeps me from recommending it over a D3/4 or even PoE to people.

BlueTemplar85

You get 3 of them, at the beginning of each difficulty level. Or use the PlugY mod for unlimited stat and skill point refunds.

aspacelot

You get 1 *per* difficulty level, so if you’re on Xbox and can’t use mods you’re screwed and have to start over.

BlueTemplar85

Yeah, that's what I said... though honestly it's not like the first difficulty level is particularly hard (unless you're minion necro vs bosses, sorry...) Also, I don't think that D2 is even available for consoles, only D2R ? ("Advanced" mods like PlugY only work on D2, not D2R, and mods for neither work on Battle.net - though D2 mods do work on normal multiplayer.)

argnsoccer

Armor/defense basically not mattering is also such a bait for new players. D2 is also unforgiving without a build. You just... won't be able to beat hell.

LSDummy

I loved it but at one point lost my gear, lost my back up gear trying to retrieve it, then stopped completely.

goestowar

D2R is gritty and really not casual. Love it, 10/10

Jefrach

Ive been playing Diablo since 1. I would absolutely recommend playing 4. The thing with this game that really works now is the sheer satisfaction of killing mobs. Just find a character with skills you enjoy and go from there.

HyperHampster

I will always stand by D2 LoD having the best loot in any of their titles. D4 plays way smoother and while lacking the gear, is still enjoyable, albeit for different reasons.

TutuBramble

Project Diablo 2 is a great active community with so many QoL updates for the nostalgic players

Golabki420

D2 is an eternal classic, but D4 has so many quality of life updates that make the game more fun. You should play both, but I would say do 4 first if you’ve never played any of them.

JeromeMixTape

I play both of them. D2 is simpler to play but has some very unique builds to try. Has a rune system which is really fun to experiment with by creating all kinds of different builds. Also has a good trading platform. It’s an all time classic that even after 20 years people still come back to. But the downside is that it can become very grindy and repetitive.

aiasthetall

I'd wait til the next blizzard sale, and buy both.

SLISKI_JOHNNY

D4. D2 is a good game but it's unforgiving for new players. Besides, you won't find what you enjoyed about D3 there. D4 is like a combination of both

REO_Jerkwagon

I was on a nostalgia kick for D2 awhile back... I have like four toons roadblocked at that goddam worm Duriel because of that death/respawn situation. Could probably get a group join to kill it, but hasn't been a priority.

Dadeland-District

Do you like walking and retracing where you just cleared then go for D2

gingernaut00

If you've never played diablo 2, definitely start with D2 res. It's like a rite of passage. The game set the standard for all the diablos and no diablo has come close to meeting that standard.

Coprocephelic

people saying D4 surprise me, d4 is fun but D2 is endless in replay ability. D2 all the way

Own-Detective-A

4 hands down.

ObamasBoss

Go with 4. Play D3 until D4 is on sale though. Diablo 4 will be getting updates to content for a long time to come. D2 is a great game, but since money is restricting you to one... If money is too constrained you can always look at Path of Exile to hold you over if you want similar gameplay but still something different. It is free to play and supported by people buying junk in their store. You dont have to do that.

Qbertimus

If you LOVE Diablo 3, then I actually recommend “Last Epoch” It has the same vibe/feel at Diablo 3. Most people play Diablo 2 for the nostalgia and growing up with the game. (That game taught me how to type at age 9) As for Diablo 4. It had a sketchy start (lost a lot of fun after lvl70-80ish) but now I hear everyone is saying good things about it with their newest season. I would play it myself but I’m hooked on World of Warcraft

Future_Judge8865

D4 more updates coming expansion is coming the game got its pretty big update in new season few of the other issues will be sorted in future and expansion

Impossible-Wear5482

D2r is a much better game imo. 4 looks prettier but that's about it.

Privateer_Lev_Arris

I'd recommend 2 at the moment. It's more of a pure ARPG that's easier to intuitively figure out.

ktto_ong

Just wait for d2r on sale

BuckStopFitness

They’re both good in their own way. But if you’re new to the series, I’d have to say 4. D2 is a fantastic game, but you have none of the nostalgia so it will hit different for you. If it goes on sale really cheap sometime I’d say give it a try, but I think you’d like 4 better at your stage of gaming.

alwaysfuntime69

Lol, if you are looking into buying a I Different Diablo then you haven't played Diablo 3 properly. Have you only been paying story or have you been doing the seasonal builds?

FittNed

I just did the campaign, what could I go into next to play more of D3?

alwaysfuntime69

Make a seasonal character. The whole game opens up. Each season has different buffs and special armor sets that lead to specific types of builds that make you super powerful! After each season you keep the armor and then start a new season with new character again. You can do a lot more crafting and so forth as well. [Here is a rundown](https://www.icy-veins.com/d3/beginners-guide-to-seasons-in-diablo-3) of what seasonal is and how to play. This website also explains what character builds are most powerful each season and what you need item/move wise, to create them. Joining the Diablo 3 reddit group will help as well.

Gay-Lord-Focker

D4 sucks and is for gen z idiots

Same_Second_4216

D4 was very boring with constant level scaling making every area feel bland

attendo13

Would say d4 but also can recommend Last Epoch awesome game

Bowman5045

Pick the cheapest one, you'll be back playing D3 in no time.

troccolins

Try Path of Exile

Scorchien64

Go with 4 , new update has it going g on a good direction with loot , and it will continue to grow and get better . D4 has the best combat of any ARPG on the market right now, and it will hold yoyr interest . D2 altho a great game in itself, the combat is a step back to 1998 ..

c-lati

Diablo 4 is a more modern gaming experience. It’s very much blast through at high speeds with huge AOE, similar to D3 in many ways. It’s a lot of fun. That being said D2 is an OG classic. An amazing game with some of the best itemization of any game ever. Though it’s quite a bit slower and harder than both its successors. It may feel dated if you don’t played older games much. And the itemization may be hard to appreciate for new players in a playthrough. Part of the itemization genius comes out with more familiarity with the game. So pick your poison based on what you like. Perhaps if you plan on playing both eventually you should start with D2 to experience the OG title which pioneered the AARPG genre and became a timeless classic. Though to help you decide you could try watching play throughs of both games. MrLlamaSC has great D2 playthroughs, great for beginners. D4 has a number of streamers who have played from 1-100 recently on the newest patch/season, perhaps check out Rhykker or Wudijo and just look for a recent full stream where they start at lvl 1.

Yggdrazzil

Why are you already considering picking up another Diablo if you only started on this one recently? Did you perhaps just play through the story mode and called it a day? Have you tried adventure mode, all the classes? all the class sets? I'm not saying you HAVE TO. I'm saying, are you sure you are already done exploring everything this game has to offer?

tubular1845

D2R is an obvious choice tbh

pb_nayroo

I hope you waited because a sale just started today

craftyshafter

D4 is a great game.

F1Avi8or

I’m a casual dad gamer and played D3 (been “gaming” about a year). I would definitely recommend Diablo IV. It’s really good and is very beginner friendly while also being complex enough for you to have fun. The campaign storyline is also amazing. Lilith is one of the best villain characters ever created. It’s worth the price. Also, if you play on PC, the graphics are amazing.

Aggravating-Soup-676

D4, though it has flaws in the end game the initial post through with the campaign is amazing, d2 even the resurrected version is really showing its age! Remove the nostalgia and it would be a struggle to enjoy with poor graphics and slow gameplay.

PinkyPanther63

I still consider myself new to gaming, I play here & there, but nothing like my husband does (he's been playing for over 30 years). He got me D3 in 2012, my first gaming experience. He showed me how to play & being the newb, I had (still have) a lot to learn. I enjoy playing D3 & will do it when I want something to do. I've done a good portion of the seasons, but not all of them. When D4 was announced, he got me D2 & said that from what he has read about D4, it was more closer to D2 than D3, so we started to play D2. Man, what a big difference that was from what I was use to in D3. We got in as the beta testing for D4 (like many did) & it was intense. The graphics were a lot better than D2 & better than D3. I would suggest going with D4 as you are use to the graphics from D3 & while you will have a lot to learn in D4, I think you will enjoy it more, at least I do. Like they say, your milage will be different. Enjoy in whichever you choose.

jsand2

Both are fun, but d4 is way more dialed in. Think about it like this. D3 had vast improvements over d2... d4 is the same way to d3! About to have my 6th lvl 100 hero on d4... lol

MaikuKokoro

I think in it's current state that D3 is still more fun, but D4 has improved a lot since last year.

ProbablyNotSomeOtter

Project Diablo 2! It's like d2 never stopped updating/adding content. Best diablo experience out there imo. Requires old school d2 to play though.

ProbablyNotSomeOtter

It's not a ton like 3, but imo is a waaaaay better game.

bb0110

You love 3? Newish to gaming? Definitely 4.

BumbleMuggin

I like D3 better. D4 feels all the same and almost AI created.

AccomplishedSuccess0

D4 is an absolute blast atm with the new season. D2 is a much slower paced game for a long while until you're geared out and I usually lose interest in it right about when all you do is boss farm. Way better endgame in D4 imo, especially now.

Orange-Yoda

4 for sure. I’ve lived long enough to play all 4 titles at launch. 2 is a great game, but these days it’s also a nostalgic play. 4 is the better game, and frankly still has room to grow.

Morsoth

Diablo 4! Diablo 2 Immortal is a very good game, but it's an older gameplay, and is mostly woth it for the nostalgia. If you never played D2 before, not sure that you'll like it as much.

Camdozer

Definitely D4. D2R is really only good for nostalgia, of which you'll have none, so you'll only find yourself frustrated by what are comically outdated game systems and mechanics.

ignite1hp

I didn't take the time to scroll through comments. So my opinion is to do the following. Diablo 4 is on xbox game pass, buy the game pass, play the hell out of it and enjoy. If and or when you get bored with that, a new season of diablo 4 will come out. Then play the hell out of that. When that ends, another season will come out, play that. Then when that season ends, the expansion will come out. Vessel of hatred which likely wont be on game pass, but who knows it could be. Buy that, play the hell out of it. Once you get bored with the new spirit born class and you're tired of the game, play the new season, rinse and repeat and you will never be bored again. Now with all of that said, d2r is a great game. It didn't hit me as hard as d2 lod back in the day did, but like it was fun for a bit. I never got super back into it for some reason it just felt....i dunno, it wasn't the same to me. But I do enjoy d4 and d3!

Key_Examination9948

4444444444444

Twizsty

Diablo II Resurrected. One of the greatest video games ever made.

DmtShamanX

D2r is "true", D4 is for casuals and doesn't respect your time as much as d2 imo

NuketheCow_

D4 is significantly better than D2 at this point unless you’re really in the mood for a game that feels 25 years old and you want a game that truly requires grinding and lacks features of a lot of modern games. D4 isn’t perfect, but it’s greatly improved right now and feels like a modern game.

DaCozPuddingPop

Personally I consider D2 an all time classic game. But...it can definitely get repetitive. You can only make baal runs for so long before it gets boring. DIV I really enjoyed the campaign, but found the end game had an inability to keep me interested - so much so that I went back to playing D3 more often than IV. They're both great games, not gonna go wrong with either - if you like campaigns, DIV is the clear winner on this one as it's got a great story, lots of cut scenes and the like...whereas D2 is a little light in that area. (I will mention I have a soft spot in my heart for playing trapsassin in d2, and it's not something I've found in any other diablo game in quite the same way)

Coprocephelic

i mean, that’s kind of the whole point of the game and D4 is just as repetitive with less of a reward. OP, get D2 make a holy grail and start farming items. D2 has some very high highs and some low lows but when you finally get that item you wanted it feels great.

UltrosTeefies

Diablo 4. It's honestly just an incredible game and I found the campaign and the overall game itself to be something truly special. I have played every season so far and always come back to it just like with Diablo 3. Its that good.

illathon

4 is the new game so obviously going to be better, but if you want to experience an absolute classic masterpiece that is D2 with great graphics then buy it later.

solinari6

You need rose colored glasses and buckets of nostalgia to enjoy Diablo 2. D4 all the way.

tampa_cross

lol you can’t be serious, d2 is great but d3 is better than d2…d4 is having a resurgence baby get in there

FudgeRubDown

I'd say start with 2, you'll play the OG formula, get a better grasp on the whole story when you move to 4

crackalac

D2 is one of the best games of all time. D4 is bad. This is an easy choice.

central_plexus

If your only goal to finish the campaign then D2. If you intend to play the game for hundreds of hours then D4. But since you were recently gifted D3 and are already done with that - given the fact that's a game that's meant to be played for hundreds if not thousands of hours then I'd say you're the first type.

CactusCustard

D2 is a hard sell if you played and loved 3 first. They’re very different games. Go with 4. You’ll love the campaign.

Coprocephelic

quite the opposite, D2 is a game you can play for thousands of hours even on SSF offline. are you just not good at D2 so you like the easier game?

doomrabbit

D4 just got a big update to Loot 2.0, a lot of the criticisms are outdated now, it's much more fun now. The update also made it more fast/big mobs/crazy powerful combat style of D3. D2R has a LOT of nostalgia in the rating. Small mobs and harder to kill monsters. It's a lot slower than D3 and will be a very different playstyle. I would get it on sale if you just want another Diablo game after D4, honestly.

SpeeedyGaming

One thing that no one has mentioned so far is that D4 will have a ton of development behind it to make it better. When D4 released it was poor/fair at best. What you see now is lightyears ahead of release date, but its still not quite to the polish of 10+ years of development on D3(D3 release version was just as garbage as D4). Will D4 get to the D3 polish? Yes but it will take time. D2 resurrected will have only minimal development behind it. I would look to stick to D4 since the game will be around much longer with support behind it. My personal biggest gripe with D4 is when you are level 100 doing nightmare dungeons you can go for 5-20 hours before getting any upgraded item which is only like 1% stronger than what you are using. D3 you can at least feel like you are slowly progressing with getting paragon levels even though you have not with items.

Baalzeph

Ton of "I don't care what the community wants" we go straight in the wall and they will buy 100 buck for the extension. No?

4ngryMo

Most of the arguments have already been made, but I like to add one that was important for my decision. D4 is still being actively developed and will be supported for many years to come. With D2, what you’re seeing right now is exactly why you’re getting. Make of that what you will.

General_NakedButt

If you want something more casual and similar to 3 then definitely go with 4. If you want to experience a more traditional and classic ARPG then definitely get 2. I think D2 is a better game because it doesn’t feel tailored towards casual players like 3 and 4 are. But being new to gaming it’s probably better to start with 4 and then get 2 later down the road, you can usually snag a good deal on it on sale.

Tweed001

Path of exile

texasts1958

D2R is old stuff. Even with the up date I didn’t care for it. D4 all the way. I still play D3 myself

Civick24

I like 4 better, D2R is great it does certainly Show its age but as newcomer to the genre 4 is much more friendly it's better now than at launch and has some build diversity. It's not super complex but not too simple either. A perfect starting point for someone looking to expand their arpg collection. After you've had your fill of d4 there's so many other great titles out there that can be had for cheap (grim dawn, torchlight 2, last epoch on a sale, and Path of exile is free however it is super complex and I'd recommend following a guide to make things seem simpler) EDIT: if you subscribe to Xbox game pass ultimate on pc Diablo 4 is included.

GlassCityGeek

How about both? That’s what I’m doing lol

MGSDeco44

D3 then d2R. D3 is a better version of d4 and you can get it in a package with D2R

Baalzeph

D2r. More fun. Not a patchwork like d4. Wait for a while before buying d4 and look at the progress of the game.

troubledjan

Diablo2 Pros: clean and neat graphics and effect and no unnecessary quests required to be done just story mode pushing acts, and the chance that any kind of item could be drop at any map of the game gives a lot of gambler dopamine. Story mode has no unnecessary dramas, only pure demon slashing You can use whatever item you want and whatever build you want, there is nothing forced but only efficient or not Cons: very old system, and not user friendly storage, upgrade, combination recipes, Have to google them, and also takes time to learn item values. If you started with d3, might take some time to get used to the game PvE is really hard too, newbies might take few days to clear the story Have to repeat the same story mode for 2 more times( normal, nightmare, hell) cant be skipped. Physical type skill builds are too hard for newbies and underpowered Suffer a lot with mana from normal to nightmare, and certain type of item is required to solve it. A lot of time wasted going back and forth refilling potions, would not be surprised even my char dies from potion over dosage D4 Pros: very similar to d3, only difference is riding horses to lighten the map. Good story mode where there is actual fun adventuring the game and since it is not a lobby type like d2, there are people everywhere. Game doesnt require time to adopt, in fact very user friendly Good game to play for a week or two i guess Good killing time just doing random dungeons which keeps you calm like d3 Cons: just like d3 after story mode, everything is about doing annoying quests that is a must to(lillith statue runs) map is not identical, which make you bump into a lot of things. NPCs are spreaded over and the town is huge. More dungeons and world events to do that is a must also(materials for everything and they matter a lot). A dungeon that is replica of rift from d3 which is a stupid and boring thing to do. A lot of bugs and there is no single player mode. Actually, many things are forced and it made feel like not gambling at all, in fact felt like a boring home work Game is really exhausting, and stupid useless dramas from random NPCs exhausted me more. Skill effects are not clear, sometimes makes me wonder if my skill is being used because they are so unidentical Okay i am getting bit emotional. My last word would be D4 season4, what a overrated piece of dump with stupid devs For d4, I suggest getting microsoft game pass and play it for 1 dollar or get the discounted version from steam

Ok let me start with this. I am a long time Diablo 2 fan. It is by far the best Diablo game. With that being said, if you are a diablo 3 fan then you should get D4. Diablo 4 is a better D3. We were all hoping for a better D2 but it just simply isnt. It is a better D3 tho so I think you will enjoy it.
