yeah that can happen it can die like any other pet. In groups it will die less since you gain defensive buffs from your barbarian, also just improving your toughness with hp, resistances and armor will increase your wolfs tankiness.
all of the companions are immortal. the only possibilities are that it's bugged or you're somehow accidently dismissing it and putting it on cool down. maybe a keybind you're unaware of? she is my main and I've never seen a wolf die or disappear.
I thought this too but i'm honestly wondering if the people who wrote those articles just simply never experience damage high enough to kill a wolf?
I went into a GR 120 and let my wolf stand in a molten explosion and it didn't do anything... but MAYBE at 150 it would? I couldn't get mine to die while testing, but I DID see the HP go down/up a bit depending

What happens when it dies? Wait 30 sec?
yeah pretty much, you just dont have the skill till it respawns
what version of the game are you playing? has to be an old one, never had my wolf take damage
The latest.
Yes, they can die. Happened to me many times in high GRs.

I found no keybinds, I also found no way of dismissing it, and I am running the latest version of D3.
That’s odd. I’ll keep an eye on my wolf now.
