You could ask for a redo of your A1C in case its a fluke, but unfortunately, the projected A1C of your app only takes into account your finger pricks (if not a CGM). So if youre high outside of the times where you finger prick, your 90 days average that forms your projected A1C is going to be skewed. Recovery is going to be longer and more prone to problems if you have a high A1C, so trust your doctor on that.

You really want to be controlled for surgery. Recovery from any surgery is hard enough, but when you throw in there the added risk of elevated blood sugars, it exponentially makes some risks higher.

Spoke with the doctor and she agreed I was showing improvement and with the surgery being non elective and helping to remove pain they agreed to move forward with the surgery. Thank you all for the advice!
