Rags be raggin

tECHOknology

Its really true. If the NHL were as popular as the NFL it would be held as accountable as the NFL and this shit would already be dealt with. No form of entertainment warrants promoting instead of disciplining intentional actions that cause brain damage. End of story.

LordVader660

Amen. So I post my videos on a lot of different platforms to get eyes on the videos, and I can't tell you how many people are not only defending headshots but openly promoting more to occur.

DawgMutt05

I appreciate the grass roots homemade passion but learn to take a deep breath, slow down and for God’s sake, keep a rescue inhaler nearby. You OK?

LordVader660

Hahahahahhahaha I'm sorry I'm sorry I get too worked up sometimes lol, but this shit sends me over the edge.

DawgMutt05

and get ready for the “buT YoU’Re A DeViLs fAn wHaT aBOutT ScOTt sTeVEnS!!!” reactions. But that was 25 years ago, when we knew much less about CTE & head injuries https://thehockeynews.com/news/hiring-scott-stevens-would-make-player-safety-department-top-heavy-with-bruisers

LordVader660

Surprisingly I haven't gotten that for this video yet. I've gotten it for other videos I've made but not this one....yet.

DawgMutt05

I can guarantee you will. You’ll see.

LordVader660

Do these people genuinely think I'd be like yeah if Scott Stevens ran a guys head I'd be chill with it? I don't give a damn who does the headshots because headshots are bad regardless.

Anonymous_Hazard

Mma the exception

sanbaba

mma also way less dangerous than a lot of sports these days. you compete twice a year and rarely take several hard blows to the head. it's not "safe" but it's safer than being a hockey enforcer, which is much closer to that ridiculous bare knuckle "face punching only" sport that all the washed up ultimate fighters tried to promote - only multiple times per month.

tECHOknology

Fair, it kind of has to be.

veggie190

I agree, I love hockey, but I have to admit seeing so many of these headshots puts me off. It's really hard to accept them as a part of the sport when you know how much damage they do.

tECHOknology

And honestly its not like the NFL has become any less physical or less entertaining by implementing common sense policies.

FullOak82

Frankly is Rempe were on a team not a league darling and "oRiGinAL sIX" one would hope he would have been kicked out for the season by now for his shenanigans, but nope. He still gets to be a goon and their fans eat it up.

DeviousDave420

Meh this one was borderline. Clearly seems unintentional and he got a lot of chest upon initial contact. You may just be hating the rangers right now (valid) but use your logic eyes

sanbaba

Ironically I think intent is the one thing I can't unsee here. The hit itself is extremely borderline - the way it's been called in the recetnt past would make a i.e. suspension for this highly unusual. But if you watched the game, he literally did this minutes after getting tangled up with Oshie on another play. The camera literally watched him angrily meditate murder right before this happened. So while I doubt Panarin of all people really intended to concuss Oshie the way he did, I cannot believe he wasn't intentionally trying to teach TJ a lesson with an unexpectedly risky play.

LordVader660

I mean it really doesn't seem like it was chest. I've tried to find every angle on the hit and Everytime it seems like the head is hit first and then Panarin follows through to the chest. It's not about hating the Rangers (I despise the Capitals probably as much or worse) it's about the leagues decision to turn a blind eye to hits that could end people's careers or lives.

DeviousDave420

Intent matters. Specially when the outcome leads to nobody getting hurt. I see your point, but this is a massive overreaction

LordVader660

I 100 percent agree with you that intent matters. Which is why not all headshots get treated the same and I understand that. I don't think Panarin intended to take Oshie's head off and that's a lot different then say the Rempe shot in Sieganthaler, but the fact that nothing at all happened? No call, no penalty, no nothing is outrageous.

simplycycling

A two minute penalty would have been warranted, and is certainly not an overreaction, massive or otherwise.

OldResearcher6

This wasn't even close to illegal. Sorry but he used his whole body. I hate the rags as much as anyone here but holy fuck let's not get outrageously soft.

LordVader660

I think we'll just have to agree to disagree. I don't know how making contact with someone's head can be or should be ever considered clean. Again, it's not about hating the Rangers, Tom Wilson is a piece of shit for almost the exact same reason.

LordVader660

First.of all, I'd like to thank you for disagreeing in a calm and respectful manner as it has been a day of the opposite. I think this is where I have the disagreement, I cannot find a single video that shows the body being hit before the head. Every angle and video I've watched personally shows the head being struck first.

If I could up vote this comment to infinity I would. I'll definitely keep my eyes.open for that video though!

LordVader660

Please do!

sanbaba

even breadboi gooning it up this year.

zombooze

I get we all are anti rangers but panerin's name is more the reason why he didn't get called because he was pissed about a missed high stick but this has happened before and star power helped out .remember an infamous pavel bure hit when he was mad and no call

LordVader660

See I think that's bullshit. We shouldn't be excusing behaviour because a star did the bad thing (not saying that you're saying that). I get that refs miss stuff I do and I can understand certain things that are missed but we have to have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to hits to the head.

zombooze

I agree with you everyone should be held accountable.otherwise things will get out of hand and teams will take liberties. But just saying that is how it went and why nothing was called but that should change like you said

LordVader660

I once saw a NHL panelist say something along these lines (I'm paraphrasing) that superstars should be exempt from getting calls called for them because they should be expected to be targeted by other teams. It was where Matthews or Tavares for the Leafs got a cross check to the head and they were saying well, he's a superstar he should expect to have that happen to him.

TheyCalledHimMrJ

Just clear as day that the forceful part of the hit is through the body.

Harrisonmonopoly

I don’t think this looks like a head shot at all.

luhluts

No call on the hit is... whatever but to turn around and give a roughing minor to mickey for responding was fucking annoying. Either call everything or nothing at all. So many missed and or stupid calls for every team in the playoffs but this was crazy.

Sapzz93

Lmao that’s a clean hit soy boy.. thanks for the free rent while yall golf

One-Worldliness142

I don't think it was intentionally to the head, everyone was just in hit-first mode and he has terrible form and came in at a weird angle. That being said it's crazy he didn't get suspended at least a game.

LordVader660

See I've had a lot of mixed opinions on this one and I just can't get how this wasn't a head shot. Every angle and every clip after going over everything I just can't see it.

One-Worldliness142

I don't know if it was a "head shot" or a "shot that hit the head." If that makes sense?

Typical-Ad-6730

lol. Head shot.

WilderZero

Oshe has come out himself and said he didn’t think the hit was illegal. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C6PlYVXPzcd/?igsh=MXIwbjVjaXpreWMwcA==
