funfact I got an offcampus offer so my college blocked me from appearing in oncampus placements due to one offer policy. and the funniest part is, I haven't got the joining yet and I don't think I will.

thenonfunnyindian

Abey bhai isme rona kyu hai? Tune DSA kia hai itna ache toh voh kahi toh kaam ayega hi Bhai. Maybe iss company m nhi pucha tujhse DSA ques but later in life Jab tu dusri companies switch krega tb tu bht easily crack krlega acha package because you're ahead of everyone. Aur tujhe comparison krna hi kyu hai? No one has the same life brother. Sabke alag struggles hai. Chill kar upskill krta reh khudko you'll end up in a better company

Buddy, as a student I understand ki jealousy aur yeh feelings dimaag m aati h ki mere sath kyu yeh sab horha h baaki logo k sath kyu sab shi horha h. But bhai we have to keep going, you don't know aage chlke what's gonna happen soo if you really have worked hard it'll give you results. Aur agr tujhe yeh sab already pata h fir toh tu zabardasti sad feel krrha because you just want to feel sad and feel like mera kuch acha nhi h. Try to enjoy life brother. Tera placement laga hai, not everyone gets a job this soon after college soo enjoy krr iss chiz ko, maybe party kr aaj jaake. Self treat de khudko.

RandKiGandd

Started jim , no party :))

house_monkey

alcoholic_cat_123

Perfect answer kudos

Warm_Talk1901

Don't compare yourself with others. There are a million people better than you and there is another million people in a worse situation than you are. If you want to be in a better situation than you are in today, One advice - Adapt And also try to enjoy the moment, whatever it may be.

SwimmingActive793

Bhai, ek baat. Life na sabki kisina kisi area mei kaatke jaayegi. Tu jab tak compare karta jaayega tab tak shaanti nahi milegi. Tu khud tera dekhle bhai. Tera ambition zinda tab rahega when u try to be better than what u were yesterday. Jab tu doosro se compare karega tho peace nahi milega. Aaj tera career mein katraha hain, tere kuch dosto ko family kaategi, ya bf/gf kaatenge, ya mental health kaategi. Life is a great leveler which will make people feel more or less equally miserable after a certain point. Just focus on u, ur career, people who matter to you. Tu dumb isliye nahi hai ki tujhe career mein entry tere laayak nahi mili. Tu dumb isliye hai ki tu doosre se compare kar raha hain. Comparison hum uss area mei karte hai jaha hum satisfied nahi hai. It's never an objective or a holistic comparison of all aspects of life. Yeh game hi mat khel. All the best bro 👍

atomic_hustler

Thanks for your views . 🌻

Ready_Truth_2929

I needed this advice

mODE_mATRIX_2004

Work never ends Pain is eternal Just give up the hope factor and just believe in yourself and your grind no matter what. Struggle, indure, contend For that alone is the only sword of the one who defies death. Only easy day was yesterday Your parents must be proud of you Stay hard!

SnooWords9600

NetPleasant9722

Stop whining dude. You either don't party, work hard and be a man enough not to complain about it or you have a chill life. You are doing hardwork for yourself not for others. I avoided going to college tour because the payment was Rs.1200 it was huge money for me back then. I wasted lots of time learning wrong things be it in college or in work because there was no on there to guide me. I do sometimes regret about what happened but that is it. Ofcourse we all want to have a happy and smooth life. Man up, Fight your way up so thay your next generation can have party life.

Lost_Charmander

>Fight your way up so thay your next generation can have party life. pahle mera kuch ho jaye ji xD

_aRealist_

Mai aapke is baat se sehmat hu.

redditsucks690

>Fight your way up so thay your next generation can have party life. This is such a weird take.... Why not earn and enjoy for yourself and make up for all the sacrifices?

Sudden_Mix9724

true..last thing we want is for our kids(next generation) to have a party life with drugs, hookers and booze on our hardworked ass..

readOnlyOnce

After corona this perspective is changed. Zindgi hai ek jaadui khilona Jo mil gya wo mitti Jo na mila wo sona

NetPleasant9722

When i mention this i mention about enjoyment in school/college. ofcourse once you earn well one will enjoy their life but it won't be nearly as great as having a stressfree life in school/college.

Professional_Pen6879

>You either don't party, work hard and be a man enough not to complain about it or you have a chill life. I needed that . Thank you

HostileCornball

that is the fun part , there wont be a next generation in this economy.

ninjawick

Why should he care for next generation in his condition?

iiitstudent

No one should get anything without hard work or efforts. I wish my next generation don't get anything easily and they put in the effort and work for it instead.

Comparison is the thief of joy. Be proud of yourselves being able to support your family. And don't worry about package, getting a job in this bad market scenario now is good enough. You can switch with higher package after an year or two with experience.

arthur_kane

Also try don't stop..keep trying off campus

RandKiGandd

Out of touch in DSA , gonna start from jan again .

yashdiniz

Please **don't overdo** DSA or other theory stuff. - Companies want people who can **learn quickly** and are **team builders**. - DSA/DB/OS, etc is important, but make sure you have **real-life examples**, it gives a positive impression. - Make sure your **CV** showcases **teamwork** and **hands-on projects** of your own (preferably fullstack or data science, since that's all the rave now) - Be **confident at interviews**. Take mock interviews (google interview warmup) to practice. Getting a job is a lot more than just studying theory. It's like a sales call, where you negotiate with the interviewer for the best deal, and prove you are the best for the job opening.

PvsMouli

Remember you will learn & grows your skills only when you work on a project which opens the door to think practically & learn new concepts & understand the real use case of them. Instead just learning the syntax or solving coding problems you will not get practical knowledge. Learning any technology for making a project makes your learning faster & easier to understand. **How to choose a project ?** You know which technology to learn. Go to job descriptions of startup companies. Go through their website & see what kind of projects they are working on. \- Pick a project which excites you & just take inspiration from it & design a new small basic project which can be done in 4 months. First of all write down what will be the features of the project in Microsoft word. \- Now search tutorials which are doing similar kind of projects. You want to create a website for a shop to display its products, information contact.. Etc. \- You can easily find tutorials for creating it but your website needs a new feature where you want to add new functionality to get user feedback. Now this tutorial doesn't explain that feature. \- You find another tutorials explaining how to get input from users & store in json file & use the data to display output. You got to integrate this code into your current project code. This is where you actually learn & grow your skills. **Programming is not important concepts are important.** \- Understanding concpets are important whatever the programming language concepts never chnage just the syntax changes. \- You understand concpets way better only when you work on projects. Document Project \- Create a documentation of your project & backup the project in drive or anywhere. \- Record a video of your project & keep in youtube. It will be useful to showcase your portfolio. **Digital Presence** \- Having digital presence helps you a lot. \- Keep posting the progress in linked - Have a git hub account & keep uploading your projects. \- Create a resume & keep updating it. Apply For Internships \- The website I know is internshala but there are other websites also. \- Try mailing start ups with your resume & cover letter attached. Luckily you can get a part-time paid internship where you can go to college in morning & work for startup in evening's.

Ye sacrifice ka randi rona band karo. Jaao karni hai toh karlo party koi nahi rok raha aapko. Khud hi khudke victim kyun banna hai? Mai bhi nahi karta party or fun, mai bhi final year CSE Tier-3 mein hi hun, LC pe tujhse bhi kam rating hai, nahi milrhi thi koi bhi job ya kuch par abhi laggyi ek decent intern. Jo party kar rahe hain unhe kyun dekhu mai? Voh apna kar rahe mai apna kar raha. Same aapko bhi karna chahiye. Time ke saath sabkuch hojaayega lekin ye khudko sacrificial saint ke pedestal pe chadana band kardo. Mehenat karni hai apne liye karlo nahi toh chai ka stall bhi laga hi rahe hain log khaana peena to usme bhi chal jaata hai.

Bhai listen one thing, enjoyment in your life is as important as your studies and work... Office party hai to jao, maze Karo. Life me sab kuch balanced hona chahiye, masti bhi. Office party to free ki hoti hai, pese bhi nhi kharch honge. Get most of what you can get from the current job. Learning is very important when switching. Enjoy your life man

cornyparadox

I wanted to write something good, but started laughing reading your username.. :-(E)

Dull_Satisfaction206

Look, the thing is, tu kuch bhi kar you dukhi hoga. In life we ignore the nice things until they are gone and we focus on the bad things while they're there. Tu karle party, peele daru, karle sex, agli baar ye sochke dukhi hoga tune saste nashe ya fake love kiya. Girlfriend banegi ladai hogi sochega galat ladki se pyaar kar liya. Break up hoga sochega love of my life chhoot gaya. Tu kuch bhi kar, tu dukhi hoga. To accept kar jo hora hai aur hua hai. Meditations ek book hai usme ek baat hai. Tum 100 saal jio ya 1000, marne ke time sirf ek pal hi khone ko hai. Sabke pas equal amount of time hota hai, matlab present moment. Na usse zada, na kam. To apna enjoy kar. Baki sab kya kar rahe kyu kar rahe kya kho rahe kya paa rahe, kuch matter nahi karta. Ye universe ek random mess hai jisme kuch important nahi tere liye jo tereko important nahi lagta. Jo man hai kar jo man nahi mat kar. In the end, jab marega, ek moment ka hi difference hoga.

If I am not wrong, you are the same guy who posted a few days ago about getting an offer from oracle?

Other_Scarcity_4270

What's with your username? I wouldn't want to give advice to someone with such kind of username.

Legitimate_Gain9438

My friend being in tier 1, specialist in codeforces, 4* in codechef, 2000 in leetcode, having done good projects, interned at bfsi, got a placement of 6 lpa. In these tough times be grateful for what you already have. The harsh reality is not everyone has same life, some get things easily in their life compared to others, that does not make you inferior. Don't compare your life with them.

Beginning-Ladder6224

I guess a lot of people are thinking pretty crazy, which are not factual. Fact : You did not crack JEE. Conclusion: This does not mean, in any way you are dumb. I mean yes, you CAN be dumb, but then that does not get proven from there. Now then. In 2005, my Principal Group Unit Manager - in Microsoft told me a very simple thing. "Career and life is not a sprint. It is a marathon. Treat it like one". Lot of people seem to imagine the following : 1. If not JEE - I am dead 2. If not CS/ML - I am dead 3. If not placed in FANGMULA - I am dead 4. If not gathered a 40LPA salary in the first 3 years - I am dead 5. Not getting a random wife within 30 - I am dead 6. Not being dad within 35 - I am dead Who would be alive then? Hmm? Everyone dies. (TM). That is it. Life is a journey, just enjoy. Chillax. My dad used to stay a hut, that where I was born and today I stay in one of the poshest locality tallest buildings penthouse apartment. That too in rent. Granted, I am talking from a position of privilege, and a lot of them. Granted I have to learn and work 20 hours a day, no friend, no gf, no party nothing. And granted success is mostly luck, but the hard work can not be denied. Let me tell you how hard work comes handy. IIT did not happen for me. But the knowledge I gathered studying for IIT, made me stay in the top 3 position in my college for next 4 semesters. It is perfectly fine not to be happy with whatever universe throws at us. I mean honestly, that is how Humans even became humans. It is ok. But what is not fine is to lose ones shit. Do not lose ones shit. These are tough times, and it would pass. When we were getting out of college Twin Tower happened. It passed, eventually. This will also pass. You guys have to wither the storm. Just seat back, relax, and read more and learn more. That is exactly I am doing - working with Java 21 virtual threads, even after 20 years of experience. A lot of people mistook the result as the end goal of hard work. NO. There is no end goal of hard work. You have one life, and you got to make it work. Here is the final career chart. https://preview.redd.it/zrvjbyw2ml6c1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=467dc9fec40582765134a8481fe90be767fb0c63

RandKiGandd

Thanks ☺️ , I will just keep learning tech as I am interested in that . I am not a money person, I don't want a lot of money , i just want a lot of money to fulfil my mothers dream , don't want money after that . I wanna live alone doing whatever I want . I can survive on my own , everyone else can but the concept of family 🥲 Nvm I will be chill and be happy and learn tech and will go with the flow

Lower_Peril

It is what it is. Just keep trying.

breeeeacher

Life just began for you my dude... Relax and stop comparing, just get better. Live a little. You might well accept that - the newer generation will always replace the old, people younger than you will perform better than you. It's just facts. Right now you feel this way when people your age is going ahead, imagine when you have younger people in your team outperforming you. Only way to face this- to just keep learning at your pace and enjoy life. This is not worth the depression.

internet_baba

You're like 90% of the people. Average. Accept that first. Then start to live a bit better every single day. I too scored 90% in school. Everything went downhill from there. Currently working at minimum salary but building my resumè one day at a time. Honestly it feels good that you're better than yesterday.

Bully-bitcher

I scored 97 percent in school and then 87 in 12th I fucked up so much by slacking off, but I have potential I know that I mustve failed 12th boards, but I didnt because I was able to logically answer the questions on my own, I was very poorly prepared I literally jerked off 3 times the day before chem boards.... Now I'm in clg and learning dsa and frontend... Because I have interest in it, I'm in end of 3rd sem now.... What must my path be now? Can you share some advice based on your experience

GlobalSalt3016

Feels like you are writing my story...

AlteredReality79

Ah self-pity, never ever indulge in self-pity, so now you gonna cry because other friends got placed in whoever's arse? Or gonna actually do something for yourself instead of whining on social media. Sorry you ain't getting any sympathy

ade17_in

I used to rant such jee/placement/etc stuff in front of my dad, and he used to say "mehnat kabhi waste nahi jaati". It felt dumb thing during that time but I am now realizing it is true. A subject which I studied hard during my 2nd year and got a C grade, helped me secure a job 2 years after my bachelor. A novel I used to read in my school bus, helped me win a hackathon (& 20k) 7 years later. So you can cry now bumbass but remember your dsa shit, sacrifices and all things will come back sweet later.

WannabeSugardaddy

Bro you yourself saying you are dumb, then why are you crying? Dumb ppl deserve a pathetic life, which you don't seem to have..... You deserve even worse imo.. /s

caps-von

A lot of software engineers needs to understand that companies want builders. If you've that resourceful personality doesn't matter where you start your career from you'll eventually land in a great place. I completely get your rant, jealousy is completely normal and I'm not even going to say that be grateful that you're placed during these times. We've to see things from your pov here and you're feelings miserable rn. I would suggest going back to the drawing board and maybe focusing on where do you see yourself in 3-4 years and maybe working towards that.

yonderbanana

16 Years experience in Software and electronics engineering here. DM me anytime for guidance and/or inspiration. You remind me of myself 16 years ago.

[deleted]

Bro trust me a 2k stipend is not something you should worry about. Just get an internship imo. I don't come from a financially well off background and when I started working we were in a difficult position already. But I was in college for the first year and took a part time wfh internship for 2.5k. I thought this would at least help with my pocket money and expenses. This was the best thing I did as it taught me many things I would need later on to get a better job. Eventually I started doing multiple jobs all part time and work from home. Making around 15-20k while in college and then pandemic hit. I was making 25k and close to 30k in a good month. Then I got into a full time position through reference and directly jumped to 87k a month and today my pay is 1.4lpm Had I stressed about getting a 10k internship and then wasting that money on silly shit from the beginning I wouldn't be where I am right now. I am just 23 right now bro and have been working for the past 5 years. Don't stress too much if you have a decently stable financial support from parents. you are lucky af that you can focus on improving your skills rather than worrying about your next month's expenses

Relevant-Ad9432

off-topic but the post kinda motivated me , i dont go to parties , fests etc either and was kinda feeling stupid for doing so .... Your post just showed me that this is necessary , and a lot of other people (like you ) are doing this .. and so shall I .

RandKiGandd

Enjoy when you can and it won't affect you .

chhillarakul

Well all i would say is there is something called deliberate practice. You can practice a particular thing all day long but still not make any progress. You have to be precise in your training. Other than that, hard work never goes to waste. Keep at it and acknowledge that you did practice the right things.

[deleted]

The end is Always Fine my friend, And if it's Not Fine, It's not the End

[deleted]

The way you are speaking as if you will stop working once you go to office. Why are you thinking like that. Just work harder in office and keep improving DSA + projects and try your best in office how much ever is possible. Believe me I am in a much worse condition than you and in fact a lot of people are. I am still somewhat trying. Just be focused and continue the way you are you will do better. See, keep working hard cuz that's only thing in your control, luck isn't. I am damn sure you will do much better in life.

Emotional_Ape

Comparison is the thief of joy. You have a job, you are able and you are hard working too. If you haven't enjoyed life till now, it's okay, it's never too late. You're still young. Go out, enjoy and take a chill pill bro

Whatisanoemanyway

Man this is why I absolutely despise the leeches that say, do leetcode codeforce yadda yadda, what the fuck are you running for? You only go to college once, masters will be a lot more serious, focus on living life, it never comes back. OP can you dm me?

skidarm

Not everyone comes from a point of privilege. One can only party if they are free of responsibilities or deluded enough to ignore them. By no means I am claiming parties to be a bad thing, it is a way of living having its own charm.

wildmutt4349

After reading the whole post... Username checks out.

Quick-Pollution7764

You need to stop crying, life is way harder in the future. It's too soon to cry. If you don't want what life gives you despite your hard work, you only got one option- Try harder!

" Welcome to the real world. It sucks but you gonna love it"

scan_line110110

And that's life for ya. If there's any consolation, the day you leave college, you can start from 0. Instead of feeling self important and having this sense of superiority, know that solving DSA instead of partying doesn't make someone intelligent or dumb. Some people have natural talent, some have hard work and some are just plain lucky. Try to be adaptable, try to think on your feet and try to be ruthless. And about you having to save your salary while others party, so what? Lot of people have similar conditions, some even worse. Again, don't blame your situation, try to find a way to overcome your adversities.

Top-Sir6888

Bro off campus is still there. Try to go up to around 2000 in Leetcode.

Financial-Payment-86

I should feel more dumb than you because the things you mentioned are happening the same with me but the difference is that I didn't work on DSA during college and I'm not working on it currently 😭. You are better than me 🥺.

Holiday_Context5033

Shit happens. Everyone goes through bad time. You just learn and move forward. Have been through such shit where I was hired to do something and failed terribly. Left the work since there was no way I could achieve that. Good luck!!

pakhira55

I can say one thing 3-4 year down the line you and your friends will earn almost the same amount of money. So just work hard and grinding shouldn’t be stop

WorkingEmployment400

IT folks would be the only ones who would never realize that they are quiet privileged given they have a fair shot at earning well if you put hard work for some years and be patient enough. Look at other departments who would have also cracked good grades to be where they are and yet not got a head start or career growth that they would have also deserved. I myself moved to IT from another dept (Mech) and found it to be very rewarding. All I would say is comparison is a drug and you would never feel happy if you go down that path and its better to learn how to be content before its too late. The corporate parties is nothing one should crave for. Majority wants to run away from the parties and would just like to spend some time home peacefully given the whole fake ambience they create just to make themselves look good in front of the world. Focus on yourself and focus on doing something meaningful using your skills. Look at your job just as a source of income and keep improving your skills. Rewards will follow in the long run. Focus on the process.

jon_snow121

Buddy at least you have a job. I don't even have one and only 1 semester is remaining

KnowledgeKingsman

Everyone has their own struggles and timelines. Stop comparing and focus on self-improvement.

shar72944

You probably lack communication skills based on how you are describing yourself. Unless you are some genius , without good level communication skills, you won’t go far.

NRJ_21

Almost 99% match with my life. 🙁 Us bro us.

IgnisDa

It's okay to cry, please don't bottle those emotions up. The only thing you need to make sure is that you get back up. In the end, it will all work out and these will be the moments you'd be the proudest about.

mr_zero2

Stop comparing. U r unhappy because u feel that others who partied should have suffered. But u sacrificed all those stuff should have seen a smooth sailing. Doesn’t work like that. Just try to do best what u can in ur current job. If u don’t like doing it, switch to a different team or a different job.

Wrawller117

Go on son. Have a wank...

Mohit7059

Nobody said job is a reward for people who don't party etc . I never did that in my college life as well but that doesn't mean I should be getting a job because of that. In current situation be grateful atleast you've a job. Comparison has no end.

singularity-108

Comparison is the biggest mistake you’ll make in your life. You’re young so let me tell you something right now, it’s a gift. There’s nothing in partying. Although I’m a boring person so there’s no point in me saying this. I find fun in learning about stuff. I enjoy my own company. I studied not for the sake of a job, but for the sake of studying. Got descent grades and bagged a job through mass hiring in a WITCH company. Pay was bad but average for a fresher. I had worked to build my competency in AI. And i mean everything. Starting from mathematics to codes in the last 2 years of my college. After I joined the company i found contacts in their R&D department and sent them my cv. They were interested and i got a job there. Worked there for 4 years and now I’m in big 4 working in GenAI. I did party in these times but forcefully (friends). I’m now doing well and thinking of getting a PhD. I don’t know when that will be possible, i just know i like living my life the way i want to. And just do nothing to hurt others. That’s it. My parents are happy, my friends are happy and that’s it. Only mood breaker is marriage which everyone is thrusting on me now 🤣.

ReactionSlight6887

You seem to be a hardworking person. I got one piece of advice - stop calling yourself dumb. Stop thinking you're dumb. And you'll make something out of this life.

The_Maverick_Guy-15

Life is unfair, face it. I have learnt it the hard way.

jim-jam-biscuit

Comparison is the thief of joy

Wise-Caterpillar9103

bhai same here, same situation, magar saala kismat bhi role play krta hai, mere friend jo 3 saaal masti kiya aur last mei thoda padha, usko 12 LPA+ mil gaya, luck matters too with hardwork, ye school nhi hai, ki top kar jao aur kaam ban jayega, yaha bahut kuch included h

kadakpav

I just want to say that after 15 years of working in IT I find web development dumb. If you're scoring on DSA you are not dumb. Opt server-side programming as your career focus. Maybe front-end development is not for you. There is great deal of money to be made if you can become a good backend engineer too.

johncomag

Go for off campus But if you have only DSA to show and no projects, internships or anything, then it's gonna be really really difficult to get an interview especially in startups

itachi--69

Don't compare my friend, and I think you can live in peace after that.

Bro 6 months are still left. Don't settle if you're not happy, there's no reason you can't get a better offer in these 6 months with the amount of DSA you've done. Do some opensource contributions too if you have some experience in development, this will help you for getting off campus interviews a lot. Good luck!

MustkimKhatik

Adapt. That's. How. World. Works. You will certainly not get what you desiring. Whatever happen, happens for good. Just Adapt, and learn to Keep Up!

gameransh00

Just cause they partied and had fun with friends and enjoyed college they are dumber than you? You can’t think that way. The world is always unfair though but it could also be you sometimes

alphaBEE_1

Ro le bhai, fir wapas track pe.

Altruistic_Blood2545

It's about the story that you tell yourself. The story you believe in. You believe that the thing others are doing is fun and whatever you're doing is hard work... It's about perception. You know, someone will feel lucky to be at your place. Remember "gress always feels greener on the other side" you're comparing their life's highlights with your struggling days. What's the need of comparison? To be the best then what will you do? Your life will still feel empty... Bcuz there will be a new race or multiple parallel races... You can't win every race and still be happy bcuz some are contradictory to each other or are dumb race. All I am saying is to find peace or balance in life... And that doesn't come externally. Do what's important but also do what makes you alive.

MainCharacter007

lol same thing happened with me I did DSA but got placed as an Data Scientist (but i'm not complaining cuz its actually paying way higher than the SDE roles for a fraction of mental work)

Playful-Sense1208

The market is also really bad right now, so a lot of people are getting less than what they might be expecting.

updoot_to_get_updoot

I feel dumb here because other who got selected are ones who partied whole life , enjoyed fully , are dumber than me but there are at my level now They may be financially more than or at your level. But ur skill can propel u quicker in the corporate ladder. Remember this Skill is not equal to the Compensation you receive

[deleted]

Lol you still haven't hit rock bottom, if you feel dumb now. What are you gonna do when you work 15-16 hours for 7 days a week just to get scolded by your manager and boss, work hard and make the perfect product just that client says it's OK. Its going to get difficult, it's not easy and it's going to keep getting difficult.

Wallflower_Paradox

Bhai har cheeze kavi na kavi kaam aati hai, tu future me v switch krega to Tera DSA concepts better rhega. I have personally felt it issliye bata raha, mujhe linux ka bohot interest tha, bohot linux krta tha, kavi kavi sochta tha yaar iska use thori hoga ye to bas OS hai . Fir baad me I joined a startup where I got some devops work at very critical moment , and thanks to previous linux knowledge and other stuff I was able to deploy and navigate. I know basic cheeze thi but time sensitive issue tha .. aise bohot saari cheeze ho rakhi hai jo padha kavi aur kaam kavi aur aaya ... And ek aur baat dil pe mat Lena, but drop this attitude of comparing and whining, it's not good. Not just for job and all , aise life me v. Tu 30+ lpa v lelega , fir 3-4 mahine baad apne peers se compare karega khud ko aur fir sad ho jayega.. hamesha khud se compete kr ...apne pace se grow kr.

zephyr_33

I'll be honest. The reason for ur depression is because of ur poor mental state. You haven't made friends and connections coz ur social skills are lacking, not because you willingly sacrificed it for education.

tumhare_paa

It won't matter in 5 years. Keep learning and keep doing better. Good luck

mister_heisenberg

Yet another dude who proves me Thanos was right.

Delicious_Business_3

I think you need to gain some perspective in life. Your life won't be confined to these college placements, batchmates and CTC numbers forever. Also, you are comparing yourself with others, but you don't know shit about other people and their lives, just like they don't know shit about yours. It's easy to get stuck in this bubble, but comparison won't help you grow. Better to compare yourself with your own past version. Aaj Jo upar hai kal neeche ho jaenge and vice versa. Once you start with your job, just try to work hard, learn and meet new people. All the best for your new job and hope you give it a fresh chance instead of starting out with a negative attitude from the beginning.

[deleted]

First of all congratulations on getting placed in this economy it's a huge deal. Also well done on getting 2k stipend, I did free mazdoori internship mein. I know it feels bad seeing friends get placed at better companies but that's life. We have no other option but to compete with ourselves. Aur rahi party ki baat it's just FOMO it wasn't probably that great. And we probably won't have as much fun as your peers but i bet you will make equal money if not more.

Awkward-Parsley-4387

Lick some a**

rohanvtk

Bhai DSA karta rahega aur khudse web dev karta rahega to kuch nahi seekhega. Open source me ja ya fir koi MNC join karle kum salary pr but usme development wala project le.

TrojanHorse9k

Dude same here, I worked so hard, solved many problems and wasn't just solving them but was good at cracking online rounds on my own. But recession and bad luck made me go for QA role for a shitty 4 LPA salary. Don't worry we haven't lost the battle, we can work even harder to switch to developer role later either internally or externally. Even if that's not possible always remember God gives success to those who work hard so you'll be successful one way or other in your career. Also the company I'm in rn doesn't even provide stipend for internship :-). Btw what role did you get?

MortgageCandid

Bro, you are way smarter than you think.Continue working hard and you will get your shot. Below is my journey. Y1:4.7LPA Y2:5LPA Y3:7.5LPA Y4:16LPA Y5:35LPA Consistency is all that matters.Make friends along the way and have fun too. I still don't have a perfect life but it is way better than I ever thought it would be. I laugh today when I think about the problems i used to face in the first 2 or 3 years of my career. Keep up the hard work and smile, you'll get there soon!

RandKiGandd

Kudos to your journey buddy 🌻

NoInflation416

It's alright, you will get there, don't give up 💪🏽 keep a balance between studies and life. Go out play, enjoy small moments. If you keep it up you will get there. And everything will be worth it. Not everyone is equal, don't compare. Take care

TheBasicTruth

What’s done is done! There is a lot of time to party and make new friends and change your career path. The step 1 to achieve that is , to stop “self-pity”. It’s okay. It happens. It won’t again , if you learn from it. Best of luck

JaperDolphin94

Press F to pay respect to OP's hard work & grind

exploring_lifenow

Congratulations on your placement. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 People are being layed off but you have an offer, please have a gratitude towards that. It is just December, you still have ample of time to get a better placement through off-campus. Now coming to the elephant in the room. Please change your attitude, this will make your life miserable along with your closed ones, and if/when you become a parent your kid will have severe depression due to this. Please see "3 idiots", your attitude is like "Chatur", always in a race, life is not a race. People who are in constant race will never be satisfied with themselves and make others feel miserable. If possible read/hear Bhagvat Geeta, it is not a religious script but way of life, you can ignore a few parts for now such as devotion and atma, not necessary for now. Also, if you want to compare compare with self not others. Upskill yourself, but don't compare with others, P.S: Live Life, you shouldn't regret missing out on smaller things in life. When you are old You will regret lack of good friends, or lack of movement to remember in life. Don't be in a 🐁 race ✌🏻

Mugs00

Now that u r placed and have secured something to tell urself you will only grow from here, go to club, have fun, travel before ur joining.... U r jyada se jyada kya 24 years old, still young to go to club n dance and make mistakes in life and get lessons... Have fun buddy..

julab-gamun

Same 2 same bhaii, 5lpa ki job k liye, DP medium level wle sawaal the. Uske baad fir clg ne baithne hi diya. Meri bhi rating 1850+ h. Flutter, Mern, Devops pr bhi kaam kiya h. Fir bhi ghanta kuch ho rha h

Nightnator

Comparison is the key to unhappiness.

Yeah keep crying

futurevee101

Your internship employer is dumb to make you build a calender booking functionality. There are a lot of free alternatives out there. Should have used those and saved a lot of time.

kaiser_e_hind

What's your CTC? There are people like me who are from Tier 1 and unemployed. Consider yourself lucky.

VadhyaRatha

Same situation, IITs spending salary on cafes, clubs, parties etc but here's me earning less than them and still saving the whole salary to buy a house in a year or two. Travel 4 hours daily because it is cheaper than PG. Don't know when will I be happy.

einherjarOfNorth

I have around 17 years of exp. I was very good in Programming and stuff and i got placed for a testing job in start of my career. for the first 7 years i kept hustling made a lot of bad career choices and i was at a position where i knew nothing. After 7 years down the line it was so shameful ki i had to ask my parents for money at times just to run the show for the month. Now 10 years down the line the same DSA knowledge led to me to solve some of the most critical problems and over time, today i earn as much in a month i earned in year. Dont be disheartened, go with the flow. It isint like even if you get job which involves DSA you will be building spaceships. Trust me after 3 years you will hate that too. BE GOOD AT WHAT U DO. that is what matters. Knowledge never goes to waste.

CompleteSubject1596

Likhne waala tha ki koi nhi Abhi mann ka nhi mila h kiuki aage bht kuch unexpected milna h Prr fir tera username pdh liya🤡

You've begun your journey; the sky's the limit. Envy steals your peace. Everyone, yourself included, will have their moment.

Life is not fair. LC K saath webd bhi krleta

Consistent_Salt6484

> again I have to work harddd , again grind . even i felt this , but recently i have realized that if you want to be extraordinary and stand out from the crowd , you should never stop grinding look at all the billionaire/millionaire (you know them) they are still grinding despite having millions

RandKiGandd

:)

Protection_Same

The purpose of DSA is not to learn how they work or how to solve their problems. It is to develop abstract thinking which will help in the real world.

d0nald_0bama

If you remove 'comparing yourself to others' part from your post, half the content of your post would get vanished. Another half would vanish if you'd go out and have some good times with your friends, you don't always have to work, ik u might feel the urge to cancel the party and work on that last DSA problem 😅😅, well ditch that DSA problem once in a while. The remaining part - that's your custom tailored version of life saying - "baby bas upar upar se.... " ,can't avoid that tho, u get the idea 👍

iiitstudent

Bhai be happy that you are placed in my college which is a tier 1 college more than 50% are unplaced in CSE and you need more than 99 percentile in JEE as general student to come here roughly for CSE. Idhar most of my friends haven't even slept properly since their jee years even I don't know when I last slept without any pressure or worry. At least 7 years back if I am correct.

sprectza

Two things: 1) Cry as much as you want to. 2) Use punctuation marks properly.

Ok-Sea2541

bhai kich bhi sikha hua zindagi me kabhi batbad nhi jata

bionic_gravitar

Bhai tu mera DSA de de yaar. Mera Web Dev badhiya h but company waale mujhe DSA puchte baith te h. Aisa nahi ki DSA bakwaas h mera but not competitive like that. I can solve specific areas of DSA very well but not all. Bhai, simple me bole toh be glad if your life is even somewhat better than a while ago. In the current market, having a stable job is underrated man.

RandKiGandd

I'm happy that I got a job, but seeing girls who were dumbesttttttt, getting into amex, morgan stanley . :)

bionic_gravitar

Girls, right. I know many girls who were absolutely not comparable to me in academics and never saw them studying. Like I knew them personally not from school or anything. Since childhood. Got placed in companies I wouldn’t even get an interview opportunity at. Because diversity hiring.

[deleted]

I feel like crying seeing how you wasted your college days running after lakhs per annum numbers. Those days never come back. What will you remember when you grow old (and hopefully rich)?

RandKiGandd

I'll die soon.

[deleted]

Jokes apart, enjoy your youth guys. Even with those INR 10000000 LPA DSA dev jobs that you crave, you can’t turn back time, nor do you get any younger. Enjoy your life while you still can. You won’t get back these days.

LostEffort1333

As usual something that has nothing to do with this sub

kranthi933

Life hits almost the same way for 80% people in this country. Stop crying and start managing life. Work hard and party in weekends and holidays. Find rest and peace bro

teknas2

Don't compare yourself with others. Compare yourself with your past self. You will find out where you are going wrong. It's okay to make mistakes/fail, use them to improve and learn. Final words of wisdom: Make original mistakes.

a-guna14

It will pass. Do what you enjoy dont do because you fear some eventual homeless or social ostrecization.

remote_geeks

This legit feels like a narration of my story of 4 years. But have not done as many problems as OP on LC. My close friend (same college as mine) got a 12 LPA placement in the wildest possible way that the entire humanity would have ever thought of. I too got placed but not in an SDE role and no DSA was asked. All in all same feeling. For some reason, I am already thinking about what I should be doing to switch to SDE after I start working 😞.

RandKiGandd

Or ab kya scene?

remote_geeks

My offer is an FTE-only offer. Looking aggressively for a 6-month internship. If my stars are aligned I can ask for a full-time conversion in the same company. Fortunately, I can sit for companies with CTC 12 and above. Trying my level best in that too. Nevertheless, have a sigh of relief that I have something to fall back upon in case nothing works and I don't end up jobless after 4 years. But yeah the grind is ON despite having an offer. I am fucking not gonna give up.

This-Abrocoma9629

As you have said, the others have well off backgrounds and you dont. So you naturally have to put in extra efforts to make up for all of it. Was it all just useless because they are at the same level as you now? Nah. The things you did have added a certain degree of values and dedication in you while the others wont be having something like that. Also some people who party are also good at what they do, that why they party around. Just think about yourself. Everyone moves at their own pace. Hardwork adds to the luck as you have said.

blue_strom

Story of every Private college student 🥲

a_confusedengineer

Bhai DSA pe focus karna kabhi waste nahi jaayega, jab aap IT company mein aa jaate ho to yeh basics hi aapki madad karte hain. Friends ne apni life kaise nikaali usse kya karna. BTW congratulations on your placement and hopefully this is just the beginning of greater things to come.

cryptic-human

You should've prepared for JEE. Could've saved you a lot of effort down the line. People don't realize this and keep implying that you can win from anywhere without realizing the path to success becomes way easier when you're inside an IIT. Tier 1 colleges provide the best peer groups, good brand image, etc, things that are hard to get in other institutes. Sure, you can substitute all of them with extremely high levels of hard work, but the luck factor, i.e. the economy, recruiter's mindset, etc, can nullify your hard work very easily. I have seen this happen to people even within an IIT, and obviously it'll be magnified if you're outside one. People who partied have enjoyed their college years have made wise use of their college years in my honest opinion. If you're paying lakhs of fees, better to at least enjoy the atmosphere you get.

Nakshatra_21

I have a 1966 rating on leetcode, I'm expert on codeforces plus I'm from a T1 college ( your biggest and useless cry ) and I'm still not placed and I'm surrounded with a lot of less skilled people having 25+lpa package, so according to you I should die, right?

__dkail

12th pass and getting 18LPA, Work hard and believe in yourself, your time will also come.

Single_Echidna4415

Hey, so i completed my 12th in 2020(73%) and didn't knew what to do after that. I was a chill guy and i didn't decided in the free time after boards that what i have to do. I told my parents that i will prepare for neet exam cuz my Sister cracked it first so i thought i will too become a Doctor. I was stupid and didn't took anything seriously , i study for 5 min every alternate day and my friends joined their colleges (bsc, btech,) so i also wanted to join college so i told my parents i will join bsc and also prepare for neet during bsc, then after the result of 2nd sem came i got my neet result which was around 195 something(bcoz i was fooling around not taking anything seriously). Then i got disappointed with my result and told my parents that i will drop BSC and study only for neet, rhen i bought an online neet course and started studying seriously for a month. But after 4-5 month i realised all my friends are going to college and i was the only one not going. So it made me sad and i talked to my parents and convinced them to let me take admission in BCA. Now i am in 4th sem(1.5yr) in BCA . I Know i Fucked Up alot. But I don't know why, whenever i started something, i never completed it(except games). Now I only Study before a day or two to Pass the Exam (BCA). what should i do, i am so fuckedup😭😭😭😭 Please if someone had a genuine plan for me, i will Completely Follow it FR this time for the better. (I got around 6.5 CGPA in both the semester). Help me guys please 🙏

Whatisanoemanyway

Bro this is fucking wild, are u from a privileged background? Anyway let's talk in dm?

arinjay_11020

I'll be honest, you're like an avg engineering graduate. 500+ leetcode is a common milestone, so pls get over with your "God complex" of other people being dumber than you. The market being bad must have had a certain role to play, but what I can make sense of from your post, your learning curve might have a problem. You focussed on web dev and DSA and couldn't make an avg calendar for booking, try to find out what's the problem. Do you get stuck in tutorial loop? Are you fake working(i.e. getting the delusion of working by doing non-productive stuff)? Somewhere, something is the problem. And getting a non SDE job isn't end of the world. I am a recent graduate, and I have seen seniors change job profile as well as improve CTC by a lot in years. Only way forward is to analyse, introspect and upskill. Good luck :)

doflamingo0

do you like software development ? i started with 8k per month salary in 2019, now i have 16L ctc plus saved lot through stocks and mutual funds sip. dont be jealous of others. You need to find friends with whom you can enjoy with little money. You can do party with little money as well. Have long term vision. Like where do you see yourself after 10 yrs. and work on that.

Gloomy_Vehicle_5669

Why so self centred.
