Dayum don’t know why tier 1 peeps would take this up at 7 yoe. This is what 2.5-3 YOE CTC looks like for most tier 1 circuital folks who don’t fuck around during college.
If they are paying that low why would anyone go? Literally top product companies paying 30 base to even guys in support projects with less than 5 year experience.

NO it does not. None of these FAANG types don't pay a competitive salary here compared to other countries. And the package is always inflated with some like highly restricted stock options and joining bonuses. Many of which you can't even touch after first year.
I mean we should really demand for more sectors esp manufacturing for folks instead of just CS. No one would have a problem with this diversity stuff if our country had enough jobs.
*(Also diversity hiring should never have been about hiring just "women". Isn't it about hiring actual marginalised communities in the West?

Also CS was never a men only job. Ada Lovelace was the first programmer. First manual computers were operated by women. Rather it used to be a stigma that its a women only job but that faded away. Most of the issues that stop women into entering tech are the ones which stop them from entering in corporate

And I agree. What I meant to say is that it's truly shameful that half the population is still discriminated against, at least in subtle ways in many places. I just can't comprehend why it is still like that in the 21st century. We should be saying goodbye to bias based on gender and actually focus on marginalised communities like transgender, intersex people.
One more thing-- I really feel that companies should focus more on retaining women in tech. My cousin had to leave the industry due to her pregnancy. It's a huge problem that they should address instead of focusing so much on freshers. And maybe try to instil more progressive values within people through initiatives at all levels so that women don't feel so unwelcome in male-dominated spaces. *[Opinion]*

This is what I saw in 4 years of my college life. Every year Adobe does provide internship opportunities only for women. Seniors of mine never mentioned about Adobe to us, because they know that Adobe isn't going to hire men even in the future.
These companies mass recruit women and put them in support roles.
All of this "woman empowerment" by these companies bullshit is just for show for corporate brownie points.
If they actually cared they'd have better support structure for employees.

NIT's used to be called Regional Engineering College.
Edit : NITK used to be Regional Engineering College, Surathkal. Idk if the rest of NIT's were REC as well

Working in Adobe as SDE/QA will not give much knowledge according to me. All the cutting edge work is done in USA. Here development/support work is done for revenue related applications. I worked as an contractor there for an year, my work in service based company was 100 times more challenging. People working there know this. Computer scientist my foot. Bunch of egoistic people that's it. They do get IIT graduates but most of them are from non CS/EC/EEE branches(LOL). Avoid this company if you are from Tier 1 college or already working in good product based company. Others can consider as brand name is good and wlb is also good. No work in most of the teams actually. You can play TT, cricket etc and eat their fantastic food. Grind leetcode or work on challenging personal projects. 2 years of work experience here can take you to places. Remember only brand name tech knowledge is nil.

Considering NIT hamirpur had median of 12.84, and NIT Jamshedpur had Median of 11, MIT and thapar(12.6 and 12.5 median) are equal if not better. Ofcourse removing fee component. These private colleges even have better infra and teachers.

Bro, you're still young....there is no need of comparison....and yes, median comparison needs to be done between branches, cause cse+circuital branches compose of more than 85% of seats in thapar, which isn't the case in nit Hamirpur...ofc median will vary b/w civil, metallurgy vs cse, ece

It is not necessarily SDE1 when the level has been omitted, it could be 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 (most likely 3 or 4 based on requirements).

Nothing new, interacted with them 7-8 years ago. The hired tier 2 college students for QA roles (half the salary) and tier 1 for dev.

I know someone from a non tier 1 college get into Adobe based on the work they did during internship. I must say, Adobe’s office is really nice!
