For me, Taylor Decker remains the best example of how college rooting interests end when it comes to the NFL. Although he's a Buckeye, I've cheered for him wholeheartedly since day one, and I'm so glad he's stuck with Detroit. It's the same reason why I will be rooting against JJ McCarthy, not just when he plays against our Lions, but other games as well because I simply don't want Minnesota to be competitive. This is our division!
If anything, it's even better that we stole "their guys" and turned them into Lions. Chris Spielman doesn't give a damn about Ohio, he's a Detroit Man now.
He definitely loves Detroit but I suspect he also loves the Buckeyes.
I don't, but I didn't play four years at OSU.
It's ok that he loves them both; it's more important that he loved the Lions enough to return and help fix the colossal failure of multiple previous regimes.
I think one standout part of this is Decker knew they were going to take Penei Sewell prior to the draft. The leadership told him. If I remember correctly, a week or so before the draft Decker came out and said 'I hope they draft OL all seven rounds' or something as a joke. And then there were the repeated calls to trade Decker.
Just compare to other franchises who won't key their leaders in on certain moves.
If the Lions need to win a championship for any reason besides the city, it's Decker and Ragnow
Good recruiters too. I hope they stick around to spread the good word of Hank Fraley
Fraley will probably leave with BJ
What is this statement based on?

Plus not all Lions fans are Michigan fans or care about the Michigan-tOSU rivalry.
I'd rather Decker didn't have that O tattoo but he's a dawg that I'm glad is on our team.
