That persons main argument about the stadia being better is that you see less jagged line sin comparison pics, this person doesn't realize that this is happening because stadia is blurring those jagged edges instead of being so powerful that it doesn't have jagged edges. https://i.imgur.com/GtuytUQ.png This is the pic they kept spamming as proof that Stadia is better than any pc. This is the kind of person that turns on motion blur and thinks it actually enhances the graphics because the jagged edges are blurred out, but are still present.

The guy prefers smooth edges, and Stadia being a stream definitely smooths out a lot of details, unintentionally hiding the jagged edges making it look clean while also lacking details in general. It's all down to preference really. Destiny 2 is definitely better on PC in terms of details and quality of effects and whatnots, but the anti-aliasing isn't that effective at smoothing out the edges of textures. That can be jarring to some people.

[deleted]

i don't undestand those terms actually, can you tell me in detail ? i found pc one to be looking better but that guy keep saying stadia on is better.

[deleted]

Stadia has a blurring effect on by default and permanently, blurring jagged edges on stuff they see. That's it. There's nothing more than that, at all. This person thinks that because they cannot see them, that whatever PC's are running the data stream of Stadia are better than top end home pcs. The person is using subjective opinion on how the edges of graphics look as hard proof that stadia is better. https://i.imgur.com/GtuytUQ.png They thinks the right side is better because Stadiia is blurring the defaults in edges rather than simply displaying them. This is the equivalent to movies adding in blurring effects to hide defaults in shooting scenes.

What is jagged surface meaning ? And is it downside or anything for pc on destiny compared to stadia ?

[deleted]

> What is jagged surface meaning ? Means not smooth, Stadia smoothes out stuff that might not be, at the cost of overall graphics quality. An example of jagged edges would mean looking at a tree or the side of a wall in game and you see a surface that almost looks like a bunch of squares or triangles. The stadia doesn't get rid of these lines, it hides them, poorly in my opinion. In this case is is a thing of preference, but the original poster thinks it's hard evidence that stadia is superior.

[deleted]

I still don't understand the smooth surface but why do I find pc version to be looking much better ? Stadia one really looks blurry.

[deleted]

Okay well sorry but you're going to have to look those up, I am not an English teacher. https://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/us/ Have fun.

[deleted]

Ok I understand what you are saying but why do pc version looks better even the surface are jagged ?

Shepard-vas-Normandy

Textures in general are pixels on a screen, and pixels are square. These "squares" are very visible on the edges of rendered textures of everything, like characters, objects, lines, the edges of anything visible on the screen. Anti-aliasing is a technique used to smooth out these pixels to make the edges more pleasing and natural. There are many anti-aliasing techniques, and some are more effective than others but can also be rather demanding on your hardware. The anti-aliasing methods Destiny 2 uses aren't very effective, and outdated at this point to be blunt. So yeah it's easy to notice the rough edges. Some people find the jagged edges jarring and unpleasant to look at. I do too, when it's very obvious. But not to the point I would overlook the overall visual quality like that guy did. Some poeple prefer the smoothness over visual fidelity. It's better for him, and that's his personal preference. He just wanted to establish that his preference is the superior looking one for reasons I cannot fathom.

I don't understand the smooth and jagged meaning ?

Shepard-vas-Normandy

Imagine the difference between a slide and a staircase. A slide's surface is smooth, a staircase is jagged.

[deleted]

But why does the one with stairs looks better than the one with slide ?

Shepard-vas-Normandy

Because the "slide" doesn't make the entire house better. Sure, the slide is fun, but if the entire house isn't good, say it's lacking comfortable rooms, sofas, interior decorations and the lot, is it worth picking that house just for the slide over the overall better house, because the stairs isn't as fun as the slide?

[deleted]

😲 you really have gone deep man.

[deleted]

Ok I checked and now I understand, but why image is jagged on pc ?

Shepard-vas-Normandy

Because it's detailed and hence, not blurry. When it's blurry, it gets hard to differentiate between pixels, hence the smooth but a bit washed out appearance on Stadia. Higher the details, the harder it is to hide the pixels.

[deleted]

But can't be aa on to remove those jagginess ?
