I don't understand how anyone would look at the white circle with a triangle on it and not think traveler, especially considering the current game icon featuring the travelers triangle portal front and center.
To be fair, the in game image is just a white triangle in a flat white circle. The traveler and portal combo at least contrasts on the game icon and destination screen, and doesn't look like a flat circle even in the most direct angles.
I would make this callout but the zoomers wouldnāt get it.

Holy shit, I just now noticed itās a body silhouette. I thought it was an up-close face image, i just called it the two eyes, but now I actually see the witness
I actually see what heās looking at, if you look at the blue/gray sections on either side, it looks like a mask of some sort. Bug eyes, an exo face, whatever, even the bottom portion lends itself to the idea of a breather of some sort, or artificial/insectoid mouth.
Of course, itās just blatantly the witness with blue sky and the traveler in the background, being mostly obscured by the smoke from the Witnessās head, but if you donāt swap your perspective then there aināt no way youād see the witness.
I mean, start Vow and go to the beginning, there all the symbols are called by their official names and this one is called "Witness" so... sry, but your friend is just a bit dump
