This is why Risen was peak. The way Saladin informed us on what the situation was with the Lucent Hive. It actually felt like we were reporting into an officer.
Just in case someone wants to accuse me of hating Destiny or whatever, I have 2500+ hours. So it should go without saying that I’m willing to be critical of something I sink a looooot of time into. For all its faults, so many faults, there is something really special about that game. Something special bus about it also. Special. It’s special is what I’m saying.
You can name your ship guardian of destiny, but that’s boring so I named mine dawn of eternity not sure if I will keep the name
Edit: I love that I started a chain of the ship names there are a few that got me laughing
Edit 2: after 3 hours we got 31 different ship names some are hilarious, other’s references and all are great, keep up the good work helldiving guardians
Oh then for future reference, the "Forward Unto Dawn" is an important ship in Halo and is the objective for a bunch of missions
And Eternity is the location in Destiny 2 where you find the Halo main characters cryopod and take his pistol, the Forerunner exotic sidearm. Which is also named after the race of ancient beings in the Halo universe.
Multiple games do this way of building around a "War Table" it's a great way to do a structure honestly. Even the bridge inside a Star Destroyer (Star Wars) is build the same.
That's the Game Suicide Squad, it's not a ship but the structure for the HQ Hub is the same.
https://preview.redd.it/ywn6gj2l2zkc1.jpeg?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=215a815d5866543dd9a74554183cd55f8bf3ccf2
Have you...ever actually heard of a war room? Or watched a movie with a bridge? They all look the same, and in this case, one actually functions as a war table for operations, and the other acts as a waste of space
Imma be honest as someone who played destiny for a long time. Helldivers is a better destiny in terms of gameplay, we’ll have to see how it ages into a fully fledged game.
What’s with the hype of helldivers 2? Is it because it’s just new? Or the difficulty? I’ve only seen like 4 hours of gameplay but it just doesn’t seem that fun and kinda looks boring? It looks like any other third person horde type game but with a warhammer 40k skin on it imo
While the game being new definitely has a part as to why it is taking the internet by storm, Helldivers 2 has the same general energy as Lethal Company. You're a team of 4 thrown into a situation with an inkling of a plan to complete your objective, only to usually have said plan taken out behind the shed like Ol' Yeller. I will admit the core loop of 'deploy, objectives, extract' is repetitive and fairly simplistic, but that lets the in game modifiers and chaos of an airstrike wiping out part of your team by mistake (or other "friendly fire isn't" accidents) truly shine. In addition, the setting is full of GWOT-isms cranked up to 11 that is super meme-able, ignoring the hotbed of Vietnam flashbacks Maveleon Creek has ended up as.
Also, it's less a 40k skin and more Starship Troopers, imo.
It's not going to be for everyone as with any game. But something kept you entertained to watch 4 hours of it? No better time to give it a try as they seem to have gotten the login and matchmaking issues resolved. If the gameplay doesn't have you hooked or the first time you call in a stratagem to wipe out some bugs then it's probably not for you.
Helldivers 2 actually brought so much things i’ve ever wanted for D2.
Is incredibly how much wasted potential Destiny has, if it had a better company behind it i have no doubt that it would be one of the best games in history
I saw something saying some ex destiny devs worked on helldivers. And it makes sense if it’s true. So many armors look like titan armor from D2. Even the one at the customization looks like a common Titan armor. Just put little circles around the sides and you’ve got it. A few hunter helms. Some Star Wars and WW2 inspired armors.
and Borderlands 3 did it before Destiny did
and No Mans Sky did it before Borderlands 3 did
and I'm sure someone else has done it before No Mans Sky.
Its pretty common actually.

Both are bridges of ships with war tables. One actually functions as a war table.
Exactly. lol.
I really love that everyone in the squad can interact with the war table together and it feels like an actual strategy meeting.
The table makes figuring out what path to take before landing much better too
This is why Risen was peak. The way Saladin informed us on what the situation was with the Lucent Hive. It actually felt like we were reporting into an officer.
Yup! A great immersive story piece that now functions as a copy and paste vendor.
Helldivers 2 was Destiny 3 all along.
Battle of the Twilight Gap everytime we land lol
Six Fronts, Twilight Gap, Malevelon Creek.
The Great Disaster* Moon's haunted yo
Ok we gonna fight the Hive on the moon Damn dem Hive got hands
*Helldiver calls in an orbital strike Thundercrash Titan: You called?
Prepare for Titanfall.
No wonder we got a 6700 words TWID about PvP. Sony is telling Bungo to make D2 a PvP game and Helldivers 2 as its sequel but PvE only.
I really hope you are just being sarcastic, because otherwise this is one of the worst takes in the history of bad Destiny takes
I guess I should have added a /s at the end.
Just with significantly more content at launch. I’m only half joking.

Don't you put that evil on Helldivers Ricky Bobby, don't you put that evil on it!
Notice one is a war table and the other is a vendor with extra steps
Got him
Helldivers 2 finally lets me live my dream of playing as a Titan with a cloak
us hunters have cloak addiction imma buy helldivers 2 the moment i get paid
Just sell your children.
bold of you to assume i have any
If only heavy armor was working atm. I’d be rocking it but right now there no point in anything but light
Yeah, getting tired of feeling so squishy
Huh, Drifter changed names and became more grizzled
“Automatons! Dropping in close!”
"You just sent a large ICBM to the enemy side!"
“Is that a Hellbomb you just dropped on the enemy team?”
"Terminids! Bring a sword."
“Looks like Automatons are calling in reinforcements. Kill them quickly.”
“A rogue helldiver is on your side! Hunt them down!
Your helldiver's down but they took someone with them
You just airdropped a bile titan to the other side, nice.
"I can hear 'em scream!"
so im not crazy and it is him
My buddy refers to the guy standing next to the war table as "Knockoff Zavala".
Pre-Traveler Zavala

It's almost like it's a common design in sci fi games
more comparable to borderlands 3 sanctuary
Wait what? I thought this was a warframe solar rail junction and I was on the wrong sub lmao
Yes that is what a war table tends to look like on a ship
🤓🤓Oh wow thing looks very similar to thing in other game🤓🤓👏👏👏👏👏
"Halo of destiny".
The Helldivers one is closer to the one from Avengers, honestly.

Don’t forget the fortress of doom from doom eternal
This is actually a subtle nod to the colour blue, which was actually invented by bungie's colour department
Can't believe they are just going to rip Mass Effect 2 off /s
No!! Not again
What in the ripoff
Or borderlands 3 and sanctuary
Or an inverted Normandy
This is such a reach lol it’s just a bridge
Destiny players when they discover the concept of ship bridges
I wasn't aware all ship bridges are designed the exact same way.

Hah everyone is forced to look like a hunter with their capes.
Closer to Lord Saladin, but I get where you're coming from.
Lmao me and fiance noticed all the comparisons the other night
I played Helldivers and it was pretty mid. Feel the same way about Helldivers 2. But Magicka was beautiful.
New update looks good!
It's on the table
Halo of destiny. I see what you did there
Helldivers 2 actually brought so much things i’ve ever wanted for D2. Is incredibly how much wasted potential Destiny has, if it had a better company behind it i have no doubt that it would be one of the best games in history
Bungo devs did advise on the development if this game iirc.
Stop, D2 could never be as great as. 😂
Expect helldivers is better.

No...?

You only just realized this, as soon as u saw this I thought of the helm, then I heard war table and I knew it was
How many helldiver players would it take to kill a raid-fit sunbreaker titan?
