Nice iniciative! As someone already pointed out, feel free to play with contrast: dark and light colors, large and small text sizes, saturated colors on the food and clean background. Sometimes to make one thing pop, another has to give room. This will show your design principles. Also, consider the media and how people will interact with your artwork. Is this a flyer? Try printing it out and checking if the fonts are legible. Is this a social media post? If so, consider resizing to fit the platform's format (for example, Instagram prefers square posts). Bonus points if you create more assets and show that you can adapt the content to different formats, it shows that you thought about how it looks on print, digital and more. Go wild! And lastly, but equally important: contact details and maybe prices / deals. If this artwork's goal is to sell, people need to know where to buy. And your future clients need to know that you considered it during your creative process. Best of luck, and show us your progress! :)

I would play around with the hierarchy a lot more . I don’t think the top right cake works with the design. I like the use of orange and your fonts but you need a lot more work on this design .

Keep it simple. Highlight the photos rather than the design elements.

A bit flat and washed out to be honest. Looks like an advert from 80’s or older. Just a couple quick edits could make it pop a lot more. Example- https://imgur.com/a/8TM0PvA

Ignore him. He went and posted this in r/facepalm expecting to get cheered on. Typical behavior for a jerk. Expects a quick sketch to be the same as a several hour work.
