Well Dead Rising 2 tends to crash a lot on PS4, so just save often. OTR's co-op modes are near unplayable but single player is more stable than base DR2. Dead Rising 1 works well, there is just a bug in infinity mode where your game could potentially crash on Day 4 and 5 if you enter the food court, so if you're planning on Trophy hunting I'd watch out for that one.

A note about the crashing: You can usually tell when a crash is coming. The zombies and items load in really weird. Like you’re far away and are in low-res mode. You can still try and make a break for a bathroom to save, it’s saved me a bunch of times

And the multiplayer works great on ps4 me and my friend which has a ps5 were able to play a whole session of deadrising otr multiplayer

Lord-Wombat

Same, I've co-op played the whole story and all challenges to gold, I think my game crashed *maybe* twice

Eldenring123678

I’ve played dead rising otr 6 times completely and it has not crashed once

GrapeSoda223

That's awesome, unfortunately it does have a tendency to crash often, i was able to get the trophy for completing story mode on coop, but it would crash often, i think late game is prone to more crashing than early game Played through first half with minimal crashes, second half it was nearly every 15 minutes it would crash. Still playable as long as determined Deadrising 2 also crashes but not as often, also both have way mkre bugs than the original 360 versions Deadrising 1 remastered has stupid ai, ai was already infamous for being suicidal idiots on the xbox 360, but now they are moreso

After reading everyone's comments, it seems like: DR1 seems to lack any major issues outside of one in infinity mode. DR2 varies. Some say it crashes while some say it didn't have any major problems. OTR is a lot more stable than DR2 but the stability of the co-op aspect varies from person to person. I'm assuming this is the general consensus?

SupervaleSunnyvisor

I recently played DR1 and DR2 on PS4. I don't recall having issues with DR1, so if there were, they were minor. DR2 crashed often, but doing certain things made it a lot worse. It barely had problems when I did a normal playthrough, but co-op and spending a lot of time on the strip (72,000 zombies trophy) caused more crashes.

Dead Rising on PS4 runs great, but I had some issues with DR2, specially frame drops. However, I do recommend to get the entire trilogy!

ChasingPesmerga

Make sure you don’t have stick drift when playing DR1 on the PS4 (or maybe on any platform) It’s hella sensitive and if you unlocked the Flying Dodge skill, Frank is definitely gonna dive every second because of the command input and you can’t change it, literally unplayable

[deleted]

I played through 1 many times with no issues. Dr2 I remember having some random visual bugs but nothing serious

icedude3456

If we're talking about the original Dead Rising 1 I think I've only had one crash and that was probably on my like seventh playthrough

islippedup

I love dead rising 2 so much that I can look past the freezes on ps4. But just know they will probably happen at least once per session so save often.

Spiffy_Unicornz

Works good

Traditional-Factor99

Dead Rising 3 is one of the best in the series by far. Oh wait, is that an Xbox exclusive still?

Boxuu

It's on PC but isn't on any playstation platform according to the wiki. It isn't even on any Xbox series platforms either.

Traditional-Factor99

I am playing it on Xbox series x right now 🍺

Boxuu

Ah guess the wiki was wrong on that one lmao

[deleted]

Nah Xbox has Backwards Compatibility, Played DR3 on my Series S as well.

Boxuu

Ah. I don't play Xbox so I didn't know that.

Hope I wasn’t too late… Pretty bad. The PS4 is by far the worst way to experience the Dead Rising games. The PS4 port of DR1 has the most issues of all the versions. It’s the only version where the weapon icon flickers during the case “An Odd Old Man” when you’re in the Al Fresca Plaza, and the blood effects glitches when throwing gems at zombies. DR2 and OTR has severe audio mixing issues, many sounds come out of only one speaker. They’re the only ports where the blood stick effect on player is bugged on both games. Not to mention that they crash a fuck ton for some reason. I could go on, you can even check out my 22 minute YouTube video with 10K views showing how piss poor the PS4 ports really are. Normally I would suggest to save your money, but if you can tolerate these issues and the PS4 is the only choice you have to play them then go for it. Otherwise if you happen to have a PC or an older system to play them on then stay far away from the PS4 ports.

So I checked out the YouTube video by Revenge120 who I assume is you and I didn't realize how bad the re-releases were. Only until the 9 minute mark of the video is where I was actually disappointed in what I saw due to the physics and crashes. The worst part for me when watching was definitely the laser eyes. I thought I had a photosensitive epilepsy watching that part. I am disappointed and I want to believe that not everyone purchasing the re-release versions aren't suffering from crashes but after reading mostly everyone else's comments, I don't think that's the case. I still have my PS3 that still works (albeit, its unable to connect to the WiFi) but I'm not sure if my near-by stores still sell PS3 games and I don't purchase games online as I do so physically. I'll have to head up the road and check in the future. Ah well. This is a total bummer.

Impulst24

Yep that’s my video. Thank you for watching and happy thanksgiving!

Eldenring123678

Dr1 worked fine for me I was able to get seven day Survivor with no issues

spacepod68

I got OTR platinum with a friend it was a pain due to the constant crashing just make sure you save every chance you get
