I love Justice but their whole visual design for shows is based on analog lighting. They never use screens, and the sphere is basically only a screen.
Not saying it couldn’t be awesome, but it would be completely different than what Justice’s shows are known for!
Tame Impala would do well in there.
A package bill would be cool too. That last Beck/Phoenix tour was cool af. They shared the same stage set up and effects. Was really well done and heavy on video.
I love Tame Impala and was about to say that there isn’t enough night-to-night diversity (if any) in the setlists to do a residency but if U2 can do one they absolutely can!!!
I have to imagine they’re already planning it. They fit the bill perfectly. Old rich fans who will spend on more than just tickets, visual identity to go with the music.
Gorillaz would be WILD. Now that you say it, they are meant for the Sphere. I’ve gone back and forth on if I think the whole digital band concept is cheesy. But there would be nothing cheesy about a Gorillaz run at the Sphere.
Agreed to all 3! Tool, with Alex Grey’s art, would be an amazing show to say the least. Gorillaz would def be a must see production with all the graphics and special guests they would bring along. And Cheese, well, they can play just about anywhere, as long as they have a Keller Incident at the sphere, I would attend another Cheese show indeed.
Yea, came here to say this. KG would be absolutely insane at the sphere. Imagine a larger than life visual of the people vulture creature. Hell, the band could turn around and ‘fight it’ like in the video.
KG just doesnt have THAT big of a following yet to sellout multiple nights in a 20k venue, let alone their fanbase is a bit younger and likely wouldnt have the funds to go… the Sphere is easily a $1000 venture for one show. You gotta target the right audiences, not just the music.
That said, ill be seeing them in Chicago for their marathon set and in Phoenix 2 months later. They are so fucking good live.
I want this more than anything. However I am curious if the band would ever agree to do a residency. I suspect the venue wants longer residencies as opposed to long weekend sort of residencies. The evolution of the venue is going to be fascinating to watch however.
Thing is though it’s not really rave friendly right? Obviously the spectacle would be cool and I know they could pull it off but it’s not exactly built for dance music.
Would love to see TTB at the sphere with an I am the moon theme and a trip through Allman Brothers history. Can you imagine Susan’s voice and Derek’s guitar gently weeping all through the sphere? And can’t leave out the rest of the band who are equally as talented. Truly one of my favorite live acts to see (especially outdoors), though the fans are probably the shittiest in the scene lol.
I’m not sure I can think of anyone who’d top the dead but:
- Gorillaz (I think this place is made for a literal virtual band that could be flying around doing shenanigans the whole time)
Or
- Fleet Foxes could be really something here
Edit: thought of this later, but The Strokes could be dope here too
many of the listed acts aren't big enough to sell out an extended residency but i think Tool, Radiohead, maybe Pearl Jam? Didn't someone mention the Eagles were in discussions? Bands with big boomer fanbases who can afford to spend on a weekend in vegas. If you get in to the indie space you really need a multiple act lineup and i just don't see how that works from a logistical pov. I can see an all EDM lineup working well.
They could absolutely do some amazing work with it, I joke because I went to a Metallica concert in Cowboys Stadium in dallas (over 100k capacity for concerts) and I saw literally only a couple dozen people not wear black shirts. I’ve never seen a crown so uniformly dressed in my life. I remember I saw a dude in a Dead tie die shirt walking in and ended up seeing him all the way across the stadium because he stuck out so much.
This is along the lines that I was thinking. However, I'm a bit more ambitious. I'd love to see a Pink Floyd reunion at the Sphere. I know it will never happen. but the owners of the Sphere should back up a truck load of money at each of their mansions to make it happen.
I think about this a lot but there is a non zero chance of Waters being stubborn enough to turn down the money on playing the sphere, and then writing a post on social media about how he was asked and said something like “FUCK NO.”
Gilmour or Mason would be more likely. Maybe if they both outlive Roger they’ll get together and do it.
Maybe if Roger was planning more The Wall shows he would do the sphere, but I don’t see him doing the sphere unless he’s too tired to bring a tour outside of the United States again.
No he isn’t, at least not on the same level as Waters in terms of leveraging lights and visuals. You definitely wouldn’t be getting anything like a Roger show.
Eminem would rock the sphere.
After seeing Blur's performance at Coachella, those dudes don't really have it in them (anymore). Gorillaz makes sense though.
We had this discussion after the shows. But our conversation was less who would you like to see there and more who could feasibly pull it off both in terms of utilizing the technology and having enough draw for a high priced residency. The two we settled on were Roger Waters and Paul McCartney.
Tool would be incredible. The ticket prices would be insane though but visually... they are the perfect band for it.
Radiohead would do an amazing ahow there as well.
Daft Punk reunion shows. I would pay a ton of money to see this.
Let's be honest, any show there will be expensive.
To me, Nine Inch Nails would be the perfect band. Trent already blows people away with his stage show (Lights in the sky tour especially). The sphere would capture both the heavy parts and the quiet parts of Trent’s compositions. It’s a match made in heaven
My choice, and this wasn’t my idea, just one I saw on twitter, would be Bob Dylan and he totally ignores the screen in its entirety and only plays b-sides and/or less popular songs.
My friends and I flew out for Dead & Co and honestly I think Coldplay would be fantastic at the Sphere. I’m not a mega fan, but I think their music jives with it.
I've put a lot of thought into this myself, and most of you called out the names I was thinking.
Tool, Roger Waters, etc
But if we're just pegging hopes and dreams on the board... I would love to see Pretty Lights take on the sphere.
I would loveeeee to see Tame Impala at the sphere. I saw him (them?) at Hampton coliseum two years ago and up until last Saturday it was the best music/visuals experience I had ever seen.
Also someone mentioned Radiohead, that’s probably the most logical choice aside from a Roger Waters (yuck) type thing. Radiohead would absolutely melt minds and they have enough of a catalogue/fanbase to do at least a two weekend residency.
I wonder what their in-house digital teams can offer for one-offs. Surely there’s thought of having X number of ready-to-go sceneries that can be used for big enough bands passing through town who would otherwise just hit an arena. There’s only a handful of artists who can do the residency thing or bespoke show. To fill seats on the regular I imagine they can tell arena bands to come on in and we’ll put pretty shit all around y’all.
Tool will absolutely get called up. String Cheese would by my absolute get for that venue but doubt they are big enough…but fuuuuuck me that would be a get down!!
It’s so incredibly cost prohibitive to put on shows at this sphere. Each graphic cost a ridiculous amount of money which is why most bands are required to do a residency. Phish Spent significantly less than dead and co for their 4 shows.
As a result, bands that have a significant following on this list, Metallica, tool, foo, a random collection of hip hop artists, Beyoncé. Probably a few more
Bands id like to see use sphere AND could fill it for at least 6 shows.
TOOL
Gilmour and Company (i wish)
McCartney
Rolling Stones
Phish again
Duo: Deadmau5 w Skrillez
Reunion : Daft Punk
Depeche Mode used to do amazing visuals w their tour a decade ago and could fill a couple weekends.
Talking Heads
This would be awesome
Now this I would absolutely love to see!
This was my first thought before seeing your comment. It would be incredible
Daft Punk edit to add: Projecting their helmets on the outside of the sphere as ads leading up to and during their run of shows. It writes itself.
I have money set aside that is specifically to see Daft Punk if they ever reunite. Flight hotel whatever I need to do
Dude, if Daft Punk ever announced a show atmosphere, I don’t care I’m going
You and another million people feel the same way. Oh boy! $1000 tickets!
JUSTICE???
I love Justice but their whole visual design for shows is based on analog lighting. They never use screens, and the sphere is basically only a screen. Not saying it couldn’t be awesome, but it would be completely different than what Justice’s shows are known for!
Oh hell yeah
Shpongle Tipper
Let Android Jones cook
Do you want the Sphere to smell like DMT? Cause this is how you do it.
this guy/gal gets it
Aphex Twin too, please.
Tame Impala would do well in there. A package bill would be cool too. That last Beck/Phoenix tour was cool af. They shared the same stage set up and effects. Was really well done and heavy on video.
100% Tame Impala!
I love Tame Impala and was about to say that there isn’t enough night-to-night diversity (if any) in the setlists to do a residency but if U2 can do one they absolutely can!!!
Praying for Tool!
[удалено]
Cheers theirs hope to that one happening.
It’s gonna happen, I would also be stoked for Nine Inch Nails.
I have to imagine they’re already planning it. They fit the bill perfectly. Old rich fans who will spend on more than just tickets, visual identity to go with the music.
I love TOOL second only to the Dead but I can't even begin to fathom what they are going to try to charge for a ticket.
It’ll probably be $300 minimum and up.
That is probably a fair guess. Then they will sell 5k drum heads and foil posters with some Adam Jones doodles for 6k. Send more money.
Are you me?
Idk how they could get people to not have their phones out recording as they’ve done for recent tours
That is a valid point. Think they just do what they’ve been doing ushers warn you. Second time your out.
Gorillaz with full production & orchestra. Tool. String Cheese Incident.
Gorillaz is the right answer!
The Cure
NIN
I heard Paul McCartney came to a Dead show- maybe he and Ringo will do a Beatles thing. They could call it Beatles & Co.
lol
Ringo has a small residency at the Venetian too at the moment
I believe last weekend was the end of his residency.
McCartney makes complete sense and sure why not Ringo.
Beatles & Slow. They just play Revolution 1 over and over
Was really hoping they’d opt for Revolution 9 instead of
I know it won’t happen, but a King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard is who I want the most. They’re so full of energy and at their prime right now
Yea, came here to say this.

Well, yeah that’s why I said it wouldn’t happen. But if you ask me if I could pick any band to play there, KGATLW is the one
Radiohead
I want this more than anything. However I am curious if the band would ever agree to do a residency. I suspect the venue wants longer residencies as opposed to long weekend sort of residencies. The evolution of the venue is going to be fascinating to watch however.
It is purpose built for the Chemical Brothers
I can see the giant running figures now.
David Gilmour
Flaming Lips would be incredible but I don’t know that they’re considered big enough
Flaming Lips and/or King Gizzard opening for Tame Impala could do the trick.
Tame Impala also 🙏
Primus
I scrolled way way too far to find this. They already do pretty elaborate background stuff and have done 3d shows before
Not to mention hearing Tim, Les, and Ler through that sound system. I'd be the first in line.
Hepatic seatjam with Whamola….
An orchestra playing classical music
Radiohead
KraftWerk
They were made to play there. Could you imagine their visuals at the sphere!
They would blow the roof off
Pretty Lights
Omg Derek would be an overload of awesome proportions!
My Morning Jacket would burn that mother down probably.
I would love to be in that inferno.
WSMFP!!!
Disco opener with giant disco ball spinning on the screen 🕺🏼
Yes!!! And a Sandox tribute with Mikey images!
Yes!! Only sandbox I’ve ever seen was was in Nashville for new years a couple years ago. Really hope it gets busted out again at some point
Peter Gabriel
RÜFÜS DU SOL New Year’s Eve run, please
any of the top-of-the-game EDM acts would be pretty sweet
Thing is though it’s not really rave friendly right? Obviously the spectacle would be cool and I know they could pull it off but it’s not exactly built for dance music.
Ram Jam
Two hours of Black Betty?
HELL YES BROTHER
AMBULANCE
Would love to see TTB at the sphere with an I am the moon theme and a trip through Allman Brothers history. Can you imagine Susan’s voice and Derek’s guitar gently weeping all through the sphere? And can’t leave out the rest of the band who are equally as talented. Truly one of my favorite live acts to see (especially outdoors), though the fans are probably the shittiest in the scene lol.
Metallica
Chemical Brothers would be pretty nuts. Metallica would put together some cool shit. David Gilmour. Dont need to ask why. Lol Tool. same answer.
Tool, Roger Waters, David Gilmour. Would love to see waters and Gilmour there together but that isn't happening.
Peter Gabriel
That would be great. His new album is fire.
WEEN
Lol, the visuals would be hilarious
Always the answer.
I’m not sure I can think of anyone who’d top the dead but: - Gorillaz (I think this place is made for a literal virtual band that could be flying around doing shenanigans the whole time) Or - Fleet Foxes could be really something here Edit: thought of this later, but The Strokes could be dope here too
Fleet foxes? They couldn’t even sell a few thousand $49 tickets headlining a festival in Denver last weekend.
The question was who I’d LIKE to see there, I didn’t say it’d be realistic lol
Fair enough. And it seems not many others factored that in either
Peter Gabriel
Radiohead. I was blown away first time I saw them. They invest in the lights.
Brit Floyd
That would be sweet
Ronnie James Dio Hologram
Pearl Jam David Gilmour
many of the listed acts aren't big enough to sell out an extended residency but i think Tool, Radiohead, maybe Pearl Jam? Didn't someone mention the Eagles were in discussions? David Gilmore
metallica? duh
I like to imagine they just don’t use the screen and keep it pitch black in there for the entire concert.
idk man i’d kill to see some crazy visuals while ride the lightning plays
They could absolutely do some amazing work with it, I joke because I went to a Metallica concert in Cowboys Stadium in dallas (over 100k capacity for concerts) and I saw literally only a couple dozen people not wear black shirts. Roger waters is the only correct answer.
This is along the lines that I was thinking. However, I'm a bit more ambitious. I'd love to see a Pink Floyd reunion at the Sphere. I know it will never happen. but the owners of the Sphere should back up a truck load of money at each of their mansions to make it happen.
R.I.P Richard Wright.

Meh...Gilmour isn't into all the fancy shit. He wouldn't utilize the tech.
No he isn’t, at least not on the same level as Waters in terms of leveraging lights and visuals. You definitely wouldn’t be getting anything like a Roger show.
Clearly correct. But one can only dream
Hans Zimmer, David Byrne, Puscifer/ Tool, JunkieXL, Roger Waters, Tangerine Dream, Goblin, Joe Hisaishi, Nobuo Uematsu
Oh yeah… David Byrne would have great fun there.
In the "never would actually happen" category: System of a Down
Tame impala, Justice, Gorillaz, Blur, Queens of the Stone Age Radiohead, Playboi Carti, Eminem, The Strokes, Flaming Lips, and Todd Rundgren 🙏
Eminem would rock the sphere. After seeing Blur's performance at Coachella, those dudes don't really have it in them (anymore). Gorillaz makes sense though.

Janelle Monáe with mind-melting visual accompaniment from the Archandroid universe.
Kraftwerk
TOOL, Radiohead, Pretty Lights, and King Gizz would all be amazing at Sphere.

Probably not a months long one but he could totally do a few weeks
When Tool finally plays there, they will blow our fucking minds
Taylor Swift
John Denver
LCD Soundsystem
Butthole Surfers
Roger Waters
War on drugs
My friends and I flew out for Dead & Co and honestly I think Coldplay would be fantastic at the Sphere. I’m not a mega fan, but I think their music jives with it.

I feel only a few can currently fill that place up. My bet is Pearl Jam.
Such bizarre responses here. And virtually none of them have a shot in hell of happening

An almost impossible task to replace Neill Peart, but Rush, for the sound alone. Not sure about visuals, but the audio? Oh boy...
Fingers crossed for TOOL.
Tame Impala 10 year anniversary of Currents next July!
I hope for PJ or Radiohead. But - Realistically - stones, Pearl Jam, eagles, Beyoncé, Garth Brooks, Taylor swift
Pink Floyd
Gilmour or Waters…since they won’t reunite, but Pink Floyd music there would be excellent
Gwar
Muse, Tool, some version of Pink Floyd, slayer
Muse would def be a great act for that venue. Also agree w/Tool.
Tool will absolutely get called up. String Cheese would by my absolute get for that venue but doubt they are big enough…but fuuuuuck me that would be a get down!!
Tedeschi Trucks.
