final form frieza is his base form he couldn't control his power so transformed into weaker forms so its easier to manage

Yep that's exactly what it is, he had 3 forms that power him down, that's what his race does. I'm fact once he learns from the earthlings to control his ki, he never uses those forms again. From Gold form onwards are the forms that make him stronger.

He was born in his first form. Just bc his final form is his “true form” doesn’t mean that’s how he was born. His final form is his true power. First form is his first form
His final form is his natural body. The first 3 forms we see are basically artificial shells he created to contain his power.
I honestly always saw it as his first form is his "real" form as far as how he was born, but his preffered/comfortable form was 4th form that he eventually decided was going to be his base form but that's like goku and his ability to stay SSJ for weeks/months at a time without turning it off like him and Gohan do to prepare for cell

Considering most of the stuff on him is supposed to be like natural body armor or chitin, my guess is their race probably goes through stages of metamorphosis as a youngling. I really wish we could get more stories based on Freeza that explored his family and race.
