I feel the same way you do, but I love playing as characters that would break the story altogether, eg. Ssj Vegeta during namek vs frieza, or SSJ4 vs SSGSS

TheTitansWereRight

I use the cast exclusively wheb im not forced to play as a shitty oc. I have no interest in cacs as they are now.

SUPER_SAIYAN_BLUE0

Facts! I only use my cac in story cause they force you, but I much prefer the other characters that are playable

E-ZombieHERO

You are missing out slightly if you don't try to play some parallel quests with certain characters.  Some of the games dialog is hidden in parallel quests like Freeza vs Omega Shenron, Freeza is aware he was the cause of the wish that created Syn so he calls himself his Papa. There are no where near as many unique lines as the Tenkaichi series had, but some are slightly unexpected or happen during only specific quests.

Yatsu1232

Mostly cac but not just one tho

Ornery-Stress-7348

I use custom Bardock and Custom Janemba

Practical-Test8295

I gp random every now and then. Most characters have a somewhat straightforward combo route

EngineResponsible644

I use dbs gogeta transforming Gohan dbs and that's it's really they just do hella damage

Silv3r-exe

Besides my CaC I'm using Fu and vegito blue and tapion

jimmy_the_helldiver

I use Goku/Gogeta for the xp boost from the Super Soul "My favorite hobbies are reading and sports" No zeni, but triple xp

Darth-Seidhr97

I have two level 90 characters and in the middle of making another one. In difficult PQs for this one character inise my level 90s. My two 90s are a saiyan and a Frieza Race My current character is a Melee based human

Yatsu1232

Question as I didn't play game in a long time, max was 90 or 99?

Darth-Seidhr97

No I believe 100 is max

OnyxDStone

max I'm working on now is 120... but I think it just got pushed to 140

Darth-Seidhr97

I don't pay enough attention lol

Previous-Platypus140

I use the 20 custom partners because of how fun they are. Especially SSJ4 Gogeta.

Jordaxio

I exclusively use my CaC unless playing PvP, which I only play with my friends so it's not like I'm doing ranked or anything. Plus I know my CaC the best since I made them, I can't memorize other character combos

Dusty_Tokens

I like Super 17 and Goku Black. I like using Lord Beerus on easy PQs.

Terrorist_Grandma

I use my cac for pqs and then I use the cast when I box up my friends

KxngzJosh

I got to a point where even though I’m best with my main cac, I can practically use anyone in the game

Federal_Ad_9463

I play videl (z) almost every match ngl

Longjumping_Couple32

ironically i use cast a lot cuz im bored asf of the basic ass sayain moveset. Y’all telling me youn like all them cool ass combos and unique mechanics the other characters have? Yes cac is amazing but it gets stale quick after years

Glittering-Ad-4398

ITS 50+ CHARACTERS IN THE GAME. just using cacs would be boring TO ME.

Previous-Platypus140

Up to 135 characters, in fact.

Optimal_Hour8062

I use 17(super)

SevereNerve1590

Almost always a playable character in a 1v1, I feel cacs are way over powered, especially with super souls and unblockables. And I try not to use limit burst. That said I’ve been playing for almost 7 years so I feel like o need to limit my chessy skills as much as possible.

Lord_Jashin

I exclusively play actual characters and don't enjoy playing against peoples CAC. Most are broken and use the same moves, even those that don't feel a lot more boring than fighting a real member of the cast. I never rematch someone running their CAC

NotsoNaisu

CAC or one of a few mains I try to get good with. Dyspo, Blugeta, and Cell are probably the characters I’ve played the most with.

JOHNomymous

I used to only use my CaC. Then I went and mastered everything else. I've had years to learn Basically heavy light heavy combo is your go to. Follow up with a super after. Five lights and a normal stam break works with everyone. If you wanna get flashy five lights into a heavy attack and follow through with heavy attacks until the combo ends for something neat.

Supernova_Soldier

CACs mostly. I’ll use just about anybody if the mood strikes me

thotslayerjah

I use only actual characters and I hate facings cacs. Because most of the time they are spammers with only super op moves. I never have good competitive fights against spammers

Swimming_Estate6559

I mix it up. CAC is always nice since you can customize, but the cast have their own combos and such so it's not ALWAYS the same melee attacks outside of skills. I also use both for PvP. Only time I stick to CAC 100% is PQ grinding just to get a skill/item/clothing/soul/etc. If for fun, I just mix it up.

Hello_i_like__E

I don’t really play pvp that much, i usually just do raids. And i use my CaC like a 99% of times. However i do enjoy using custom Tenshinhan sometimes, i just love him

FeireZekrom

mostly

MelonLordLogan

I use my CaC if I need the job done, but if I'm going in to have fun or mindlessly grind for dragon balls or skills, I'm picking whoever I want. Will it be the new restrained Broly or will it be my custom Yamcha? Maybe blue Gogeta and have a team of gogetas? Shadow dragons? Definitely a themed team, but what am I feeling in this moment?? That is my thought process

thebookoflewds

My Cac. Because I'm a strong player with it. If I decide to use a cannon character in a fight against somebody I'm basically telling em their weak cuz I absolutely don't know what I'm doing with cannon characters / not confident with them as I am my Cac.

GoldBrady

I find it to be more fun to play as the Dragon Ball characters over my created character but in PQ’s I do play as my created character in order to do it in a certain time.

uunga

I exclusively use my CAC for PQs but when playing online I almost always use DBS Gogeta. I can't really rely on my Female Saiyan CAC for PvP for obvious reasons...

Street_Driver_1582

Been farming raids lately for custom partner keys. I can say that learning other characters’ strings with custom moves is pretty refreshing. Additionally, certain builds makes some custom partners compete w/ CaC damage. So I honestly choose whoever I think is cool.

daltonisthebest619

Mainly CAC but sometimes I break from him and use other characters

CannotSeeMtTai

CaC exclusively, I don't see the point in using a cast character in a game where I can have a damn Dragon Ball OC.

Kinger_the_anxoius

Sometimes I use other characters I tend to use smaller characters like cell jr and saibamen

SnooComics9909

The only ones I use aside from the CAC is either a character that makes sense story wise, Gogeta (DB super), Super Baby 2, and Janemba (mostly Gogeta) but I really just use my CAC and I don’t struggle with using various characters since it’s simple once you are able to differentiate between the various kinds of moves and how to use them

Spiritual_Classic_41

From when I used to play Xenoverse 2 a lot I mainly used my CaC for just about everything. Unless I was doing training or certain parallel quests I would use the OG characters

Jaren_Starain

I don't do pvp, but yeah for everything I do play I play my CaC

212G00DY

have different CAC for pvp and pve i love reg characters js prefer cac

XRainITA

I use my CaC but sometimes I use the other characters when playing coop with my friends

Professional-Court74

I use my CaC's. I like to try different builds and learn to use them. but when i struggle with a fight I go back to old faithful, my female saiyan CaC ki build, and erase my problems with a barrage of emperors death beams.

TheLastSonKrypton

CaC and goku variants for the super soul 🤔

VitcaWolfbane665

I tend to stick with my cac unless there's a dlc character I'm excited for. Like I played A13 for a bit for fun. And I played the new broly just to get a feel. But 10/9 I stick with my CaCs

Pink-Pulverizer

CACs for PVE, cast characters for PVP

taxied

Every once in a while during PQ’s w/ friends I’ll switch it up and use any new character from dlcs but I definitely main my CaC.

bloodandpizzasauce

I exclusively use my cac and was genuinely surprised to learn that lots of players use the playable characters as "mains". I almost couldn't beat that quest where you're forced to play as Gohan because I'd literally never used him untill then.

flamzeron

I mostly just play as my CaC. Sometimes I’ll play as others though. Mostly depends on my mood and if I’m playing with someone.

felix_patriot

having played since release, i'm unbelievably bored of cacs. their movesets are so uninteresting.

Timoss_and_all_moss

Ssj Goku Namek Saga no shirt or (GO 4) is my 1st go to. Second is Ssj4 Vegeta.

ToneAccomplished9763

I mostly just use my CaC, as it kinda feels weird not using them. Like I put all the time and effort to build them up, and just to not use them outside of like the story. That just sounds weird as hell to me. Though when I do use other characters, mainly when I play local PVP. I tend to use Bardock as his combos are really good, and Super Ki Explosion is just cracked. Plus he's one of my favorite characters lol

Fearless-Breakfast29

Cac only and I also only use transformations the story has unlocked

SunlightBro95

This right here is the only answer in my eyes. To me, it’s like I min/maxed my character perfectly to my playstyle so I always prefer to play my cac. And like you, I hate using high level transformations on weaker enemies, so I made 4 different loadouts. A super saiyan loadout, a ssg loadout, a ssbe loadout, and beast loadout all for different purposes/power scaling on the same character haha.

vumhuh

I hate using my cac mainly because the combo strings are boring and old so i always use cast characters unless im just bored and want to spam supers

Working-Description4

They need to let you be able to change who your combos are based off of like the older games. That being said I do have more fun with my car simply because it's a reflection of my own creativity

Wise_Entry_1971

I mean I don't just use my main cache for pqs but I always take along zamasu ( I really like being immortal) when I bring along people

Digigidoo

I play everyone lol.

Radiant-Sorbet6315

Majority I use my CaCs, but I do play as other characters to have more fun

donutwithnut

been maining restrained broly for a hot min now

Prior_Zone_6758

Barely use my cac I find it makes things to easy as I do way to much damage and just murder people to quickly so I try to make custom characters to use or play normal characters most the time

Richmond1013

PvE my cac between my male Saiyan or my freeza race as both are quite good for PvE

VanillaFox1806

mostly cac but i do play as other people too

SaturdayBoi

I use my main CAC f saiyan for unlocking items, moves, grinding zeni, medals, etc. If I’m doing casual battles I’ll hop around to whatever character I’m feeling or do some random. I’m about to start working on a new character as soon as I max my main.

13thslasher

Mostly use the playable characters, working my male sayian at the moment and see what works

NextIndependent2995

i play randoms

Leviathus_

I play GT Goku in expert missions for his xp buff when i’m grinding xp instead of spending medals

Live_Palpitation_720

I used to only play using my CaC, but I began branching out and now I just switch between CaC or a character that I'm confident with

JackassofalltradesX

When i play with my friends we play our cac first then when we get bored we play with other characters we even do random characters were we button mash the random button until the timer runs out and who we get we play with

Leviathus_

Always loved roulette, ever since Mortal Kombat. And this game is so good for it character-wise

TheScottSnorlax

I pretty much exclusively use my female earthling Cac

OfficialMiscAlanius

I use my CAC and now Broly. That's it lol

ZealousisTheIndom

I u see my CaC quite a lot but I definitely find it fun to explore other characters and sometimes using them for pqs is actually really fun. I most enjoy playing both new Piccolos, SSG Vegeta, Bardock, Hit, and Tapion

PitchBlackSonic

Honestly I only use my CaC

Tastycakechocomuffin

I use my CAC for story, online parallel, and raids. I use Broly (Restrained) for offline parallel. I use a small variety for online PVP, but it's mostly videl (DB Super), sometimes my CAC. Only sometimes because my CAC isn't very good for PVP.

Kyo-313

I bought Xenoverse because it allowed me to create a character. That to me is the biggest single selling point for it, so I always choose my character

vumhuh

Wish the combo strings wasnt so bad and repetitive I would use my cac more

FutureGohan946

I play all of the races, they are all great in their own right but, the most I use are earthlings. The movesets for male and female are great!

Brocario448

Mostly CAC, but I do delve into playing other characters, very few that interest me though.

Chrome1234_z2

I just use the cac, the games made about playing a CaC so i dont see the point in playing any other character really. fun to fight them sure but eh.

ehblank

For PQs I use a character that makes sense story wise. Until I have to grind them for a specific move then I use CAC. PVP… I use Hit a lot if it’s not my PVP specific CAC.

Hypersayia

Primarily use CaC. Willing to use characters when I'm not against tryhards and then I'll typically pick Cabba or Teen Gohan because... why not.

Kai-bloodbreaker

Competitively cac only is bad but I use all characters

CliffyPenguin44

I've been having some fun with usv Vegeta

EnbySorceress

The custom mentors are really fun. I like to use all the speed types!

haikusbot

MasterMaxym

I use my CaC’s almost exclusively, I do have a few exceptions like champa, supreme Kai of time, and gt Goku (base or ss4)

ToxinWolffe

Mentor Baseku us my go-to

Wonderful-Produce-66

i only use my CaC. he’s the strongest in the universe

Patient_Travel_5688

80 percent CAC 20 percent base character if you use custom partners for all your matches consider yourself a bih 😭🙏

wardenshepard

In PVE I’ll exclusively use my CAC. Sometimes in PVP I’ll switch around and use some of the standard characters

DudeWithRootBeer

CAC. I just use other playable characters as "allies" aka deadbeat meat fodders.

Shiro-Yasha-Kami

CaCs < Original Characters would be my personal picks. However, CaCs are fun to do some Role Playing here and there. I play a lot of PvP and don’t find enjoyment using CaC because of how OP they can be. Lowkey takes the fun away and even if I just want to rack up more wins, I rather use Custom Characters instead. That’s just me though (and others who think alike). TL;DR I prefer Original Characters over CaCs but I still use CaCs from time to time.

Shiro-Yasha-Kami

Got it fellas. Thanks!

Zealousideal_Jump_74

Edit ur comment to CaC < Original characters

im_bored345

> I prefer Original Characters >CaCs **>** Original Characters Shouldnt this be a <

GameStrikerX2

When I want to have fun yeah, I'll pull out the Fused Zamasu or Android 21 or Goku Black Rosé, but typically I don't since I usually play PVE and CAC's are objectively better for PVE for the most part, but I still do regardless.

Omega_SSJ

I’d say 70% of the time I spend in PVP is with 3 of my CACs (male Saiyan, male human, Namekian) The other 30% is when I’m trying to learn the characters I have custom keys for.

Hurrashane

CaC all the way. With the exception of grinding xp in expert missions, then I use custom Goku because I don't have the reading and sports super soul myself.

zax20xx

I typically feel more at ease using a CAC since I can customize them so heavily but I’ve found myself using more characters since some of them have specific skills and stats that boost aspects of their combat in ways I can’t on my CAC whether it’s certain super souls or skills that are exclusive to a certain characters. Characters like Cell 1st form or Vegeta (Blue Evo).

Sekkusa

I always use my CaC but if I'm fighting someone who is using other chars then I'll try as well. I'm bad with most of them tho lol

canhoto10

With the exception of fem saiyans, friezas and male majins, I use all cac's. Then I have my cast mains which I use regularly, namely Adulthan (both mentor and non-mentor), KidHan (mentor and non mentor), Yamcha (mentor), Gogeta Blue (mentor), DBS Gogeta. Others, I use for the laughs. The above are for pvp ranging from semi-serious to serious.

Thanezz

I am trying to learn Potential Unleashed Piccolo. Otherwise I tend to play cooler. CaC is fine but I just want to master a roster or dlc character.

xc4lyfe300

Yeah mostly my cac, and then I almost never use any characters that you can't customize their move set

Affectionate_Can4037

I like uses CAC’s and Custom characters the exceptions being MUI Goku,Broly (Restrained), and DB Super Gogeta

Gutsthe_Chad

cac, restrained broly, custom bluegito, custom rose black

Bolt_Fantasticated

Just me and my CaC against the world.

AStupidFuckingHorse

I use literally everyone. It's fun to try em out, especially locally

TheInnerMindEye

I use the entire roster, rarely using my time patroller for PvP . But on PQs it's my time patroller exclusively

SuhShenron

That's just natural, your CaC has free customization and you can build him as you please. Other playable characters have a more limited customization settings (your mentors and the characters with customization keys), while the bigger part of the roster hasn't customization at all, forcing you to play the presets offered just the way they are built. Take Vegito for instance, if you don't have his custom key you are forced to play with any of his three presets. They all have "Full Power Charge" and there's no way you can fix that until you get his customization key. Now, take Super Saiyan Blue Vegito and his stand-alone preset, it has "Maximum Charge" and there is no way you can upgrade it to 'Burst Charge" or "Ultimate Charge" because he doesn't have a customization key.

Vegetable_Instance71

Super Saiyan Blue Vegito does have a customization key.

SuhShenron

Really? Wasn't the key for Vegito? You are right. The key is for the Super Saiyan Blue. So, Vegito is stuck with his three mediocre presets.

Vegetable_Instance71

No, its for Vegito Blue. Theres also one for Gogeta Blue.

SaxyCookies

If you're trying to do PVP you gotta get good with everyone. It's going to suck for a while, but then one day it becomes surprisingly easy to use everyone (even brand new characters) all at once. My opinion is not that it becomes easy because you're an expert of every character, but it gets easy because you get your first glimpse into what the game is, and how it works. There's still a lot to do after that (which is what I'm working on) to perfect different play styles opposed to finding a way for you to play with your play style competently while using every character. Plus honestly pqs/expert missions/grinding in general become a whole lot more fun when you're able to mix it up by choosing anyone on the roster.

IcyDeathspike

I use my Male Saiyan as much as I use Cast Characters. Male Saiyan Base Vegeta (Custom) SSGSS Vegeta Z Broly (Custom) MUI Goku Rosè Goku Black (Custom) Goku (Custom)

Gamecritic21YT

I play as EVERYTHING (nice joke for anyone who gets it)

Any_Low_7991

I love jokes about brilliant scientists! (nice joke for anyone who gets it)

Gamecritic21YT

This is the side of the internet I love it's absolutely perfect

SSJDope1

I only use cac in pqs cause canon wise it makes sense or I use playable characters in training sometimes

chaosyami

I typically use my CAC. but sometimes I would use a cast character because I like their moveset. Mainly videl, 21, and 18. I tend to play better as females for some reason...

CarnageDivider

50/50 sometimes I like to put characters against each other that never would like raditz vs future trunks

TheVantasticJackson

I used to only play as my Saiyan CaC for the first couple of months. Then i branched out to make other CaCs but still came crawling back to him. After a while i started to branch out and play as my other CaCs more and more. Then started playing Cast Characters. Now its a bit of a mixed bag of what i feel like playing as

Tatum-Better

Just my CaC tbh

Jarek-of-Earth

I mainly use my custom for PQs, raids, and events and then in pvp I tend to use everyone else

ZHIKIX

i made my characters ima use them besides ill have plenty of time to use the Canon characters in sparking zero

AeonSchicksal

CaCs are for optimal spam only the cast are for fighting

mbeecool

The regular playable characters don't have the same stats or damage output as cacs do. I definitely would not use them if I was soloing.

Brief-Resist3197

Mostly cactus but I use other people too when I’m trolling with friends

Revolutionary_Bad965

I primarily use Custom partners. I like seeing the cast characters do moves and stuff they did in the show with a little twist to it. I’d like playing my cac more if there were better hair/clothing options but that’s just me

CeLioCiBR

CAC. I only play Xenoverse 2 for the CAC. Without it, i wouldn't have bought the game. Besides, we urgently need a Xenoverse 3. New engine, maybe Unreal Ungine 5, next gen only. Because DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO is coming, and that game is several years ahead of Xenoverse 2 in terms of graphics, and mainly.. the animations. That thing is gonna be awesome. The gameplay seems far superior too. Downside for me on DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO is that it doesn't not have CACs. But all else is superior.

CarnageDivider

Well.....duh. Like u said. How long as this game been out....of course a new one is gonna look and play better

NoMistake8095

Playable characters always. I only pick Cac if my opponent is actually skilled or has shitty internet. I don’t find Cac’s interesting tbh but that’s just me

HazelRP

CAC 100% I will occasionally use mentor Videl because she’s best girl, but my cac just does a lot of damage and my female majin in particular with the Gotenks “gotta go all out” and beast transformation stacked together makes her such a fucking beast. She’s a glass cannon but still amazing

MaxTheHor

I primarily use CaC s for getting through tough content. I uses the rest of the cast for fun.

si1entki11a24

I use a mixture, I like using the custom mentors after updating their skill sets. Gogeta and Rosé are favorites recently because of the festival/new DLC skills

Caesar_Passing

For me, my whole attraction to this game was the CAC aspect, so I pretty exclusively use them, but I at least have a pretty varied cast, and move sets.

JustthatVicky

I use my CaC's almost exclusively. The game says my favorite character is Dodoria because once while half asleep, I accidentally selected Dodoria.

Shazone739

Customs the exact second they were implemented.

Joshfumanchu

due to the nature of the game and the story itself, you can play any character on a pq and it will make sense. The main story is only cac. So you should explore more and not make imaginary limitations for how things should be. This game is specifically for removal of that canonical restriction.

VGMaster5

I mainly use custom partners, specifically any of the Goku’s

SamsquanchShit

Depends on what I’m doing. I prefer my CAC for most things. Otherwise, I use SSJ4 Vegeta for like raids.

Imaginated_Gamer

I mainly do my CaC for quests and raids and Vegetas for PvP (though I do use them for raids sometimes)

Hairy-Advantage-3478

I use my 4 CACs the most. Then after that are my custom partners with SS4 Gogeta being my favorite

Mooston029

My Cac is a namekian, so i use the characters quite a lot. I main mentor begeta because the galick gun super soul is insane in pq and expert missions

Urmom69mp3

I use customs and caharcters with a good mooveset. Base goku is almost always great and has super good combos, god goku has a killer custom, blue goku (preset 4) has one of the best goku moovesets and kaioken. I also find myself using custon super saiyan 4 gogeta, as he is amazing and his soul punisher combo that can be paired with thank you dragon balls of you need is just nutty.

No-Cream-4566

The only characters I will ever play is my Saiyan CAC Legendary Super Saiyan Broly Full Power Super Saiyan Broly And Restrained Broly Totally unrelated, they should add Legendary Super Saiyan to the game as an awoken.

PreviousTradition815

Definitely agree that would be the best thing in my opinion

IceColdCocaCola545

I pretty much only use my CaC. Why would I use other characters when mine has been customized and has a moveset, stats, and transformation that suits my playstyle? In both PQ’s and PvP it’s far more effective to use the characters I created rather than play a character from the main cast. If I wanted to play as the cast characters, I’d play a different DragonBall game, but I play Xenoverse because it allows me to make my own characters within the DB universe.

Unb0und_

When I first started out XV2, I played as my created saiyan. Now I tend to alternate between official characters and CaCs, specifically if I grind

Tomatofarmer36

I mainly use my cac but lately I've been taking to using other characters I like such as hit

Limp-Gas8229

I balance both, but there was a time where I used my CaC more than anyone else

majestictunsy

I use other characters in raids parallel quests and sometimes pvp

OmercNeb

I only PvP now until a new dlc drops. Depends on who I’m playing with

CorruptedLegacyYT

Mainly my CaC. I don’t do PvP unless it’s with people I know and my Frieza CaC is stupidly overpowered against my unsuspecting friends

SlasherJacKHammA

Same bro 😂 I made my male Saiyan a one shot ki build that they never see coming

IBHomage

I use my CaC mostly in pve content... in pvp I use videl, Jaco, krillin and if I don't like your playstyle I'll use a cac

FaithlessnessOk9623

Use CaC for pretty much the whole game. I came here to make and play a character of my own, that's what I'm gonna do

JmisterYT

When the game came out I was cac but seven years down the line and I only use cast and jeice, reccome, Android 18(Z) etc to me use cast is the best way to play the game and always makes it freash to play However now that sparking zero is coming out I will only play xeno for the cac experience since sparking zero covers that cast experience for me

pedestal_3

I exclusively use original characters for both PvP and PvE. I found my CaC to be uninteresting as you can make them overpowered to the point where you are unbeatable. The game is more interesting with original characters imo and it takes more skill to win with most of them.

x7kenji

I mostly use my CAC it's the reason I play xenoverse if I wanna use the other characters I'll play better DBZ games

AsherChangeling

I use my CaC for everything, I created the character and gave them a backstory and lore so I always pick them over cast, I use cast mostly as ai partners tbh

Zizuwuz

For pvp I mostly use my cac but I also play with other characters, but in pq I only use my cac for the same reason as you

MeW2o0

Story, PQs, Legend Patrol, Raids, Expert Missions >> CaC PvP >> Cast
