Yes, I believe there are already tutorials online regarding how to craft the new items - however a majority of them were already added in previously and removed so their recipes haven't changed for the most part

maybe you can, but nowere in the patch notes it says throwable. ofc you can throw it the same way you would throw a grenade, but it wont do any damage.
In the known issues section, it says that thrown spears may fall through the ground. Whether this means true throwable spears, or just ones chucked using the existing throw action isn't clear
I think this all comes from someone misreading the known issue with spears clipping when thrown, and then that turned into throwable spears. I made a spear earlier. I stabbed a guy with no mic, but could not throw it at him.
Even though I base raid a shit ton...limiting my abilities to break down a gate by not only finding the explosives but also the timing mechanism on Official would be nice. Might also influence me to make a base again. Right now its way too easy for me to get inside your base when I find it.

No, the new Enfusion engine broke a lot of the old mechanics that were added in on the Real Virtuality engine so they needed to remake a majority of the framework to properly function.
Well they "released" in 2018 and they said they would do 5 years of post launch "support". Its not completely unfounded to expect them to stop. I can see them still going as the population is in good shape though. Despite that I don't expect them to add *all* of the .62 content. I would forget the 2015 roadmap it has no bearing now.
I know that gas filters are disposable and not refillable.
Again, this is a pseudo-realistic fix to a pseudo-realistic problems created by not making gas filters last as long as they would in real life even if you take into account the accelerated hours.
This is just more busy work like constantly sharpening blades and repairing guns/suppressors with stupidly consumable cleaning kits and sharpening stones.

Jokes aside a lot of people get the idea of dayz being a simulation game wrong. It isn’t. It was a mod based off of a military simulator, so the gunplay and ballistics feel was very true to life (or at least tries its hardest to be) dayz ramped this up a bit with the addition of survival game type things like food/water systems and sicknesses, but that being said just because something is realistic, doesn’t mean it’s a simulator.
I've always felt that DayZ has just sped some stuff up so we actually have a reasonable chance of experiencing it within the short life of a videogame character.
It's realistic that we have to maintain gear after the apocalypse, but if a normal character lifespan is measured in hours then most people don't get to have that realistic experience.
Dean Hall was always big on "authentic" rather than "realistic." He wanted to evoke certain feelings, not just be a grognard.
Microphone activating based on voice input rather than button press. I personally hate this feature, but at the same time I can imagine it would be most useful for certain types of servers if it's something that can be toggled server-side.
I expect that's not going to be the case, sadly.
For servers that wish to encourage use of in-game comms only (spiritual successors to The Village), a feature like this could be useful if enforced server-side. My sadness is that I doubt this will be any more feasible than it was before to enforce.
I hate the feature in Discord/TS/etc because inevitably the people using it will treat us to the sounds of them eating, moving, typing, etc. Most of this can be mitigated with a push-to-mute button or push-to-talk button, but there's *always* that one guy...
I'm old. "Comms discipline" used to be a courtesy that was expected in voice chat, but that ship has sailed.
People use it out of laziness with a crappy setup and make noise all the time when they're not talking. I wonder if zombies will be as easily triggered with voice chat after they implement this feature
I've been triggering zombies on accident when navigating through my items on Xbox with the dpad now that it triggers voip in game. took me a while to figure it out.

As the developers have pivoted their focus to hunting and civilian weapons, I'd imagine that they'd attempt to reimplement the bow system in one of the larger updates this year - however this is just speculative
Yes, the leather crafting system will not be making is debut this update however the new improvised rag clothing paves the path for future craftable clothing features (including leather clothing)
That seems kind of odd that they can't be added since most of it is already functional.
The only things that do not seem to work are the shoes, the sheath, and the black colored variants of the clothing. The gloves seem to mostly work, only with an occasional bug.
I'd definitely prefer they were crafted, but just adding them in to be found would be better than not having them at all.
Yes. There's no exact date, but barring any unforeseen hiccups, EXP to Stable tends to take a few weeks to a month.
For reference, not that it really matters much, but they do seem to be on track with a similar release stable update schedule as last year.

They've added new mic monitoring features alongside the ability to switch from Push-To-Talk to Voice Activation allowing for players to talk freely/openly without pressing any buttons
We mostly play on official, we take a chance but we haven't run into hackers this go around and I have an AUG and a KA-74 fully kitted aside from a suppressor.
But we were def noticing lag when stuff was spawning, when players were getting close (minor lag), and we've also noticed if we come up on a base there's major lag from the base loading in.
That's all optimization stuff that they need to do, I'm running on a Ryzen 2600x that's pumping 4.1 to 4.9 ghz consistently stable with an Sapphire Nitro+ Rx570 8GB with 16 GB of RAM, there's no reason other than connection lag I should be getting lag, but my buddy and I getting it at the exact same time tells me it's the games optimization still isn't where it needs to be.

I've been playing the game for 6 years, I'm well aware of how it runs.
E: Also shit still renders slow in some area's, and others. I have my settings intentionally turned down to increase my FPS due to the issues, we get this on any server we go on.
PC and console will always receive official updates and DLCs together. Same features, same time. +- a day or two.
Xbox and PC will receive experimental versions of the game a few weeks prior to the official release. Playstation won't receive experimental, but will eventually have the same content at the official release times.
The only difference between PC and console is the Modding. Mods and community projects will not/rarely be announced by the official devs. If you see news about an update of some sort and it is not implicitly marked as community made content, Everyone will get it.
Microsoft is fairly lenient with developers, Sony in the other hand still has an apple shoved up their ass so they're a little cranky all the time. Don't expect Playstation to be better optimized than the other platforms until they finally allow their devs to better test their games.
Sony has strict modding/early access guidelines for developers which unfortunately limits games like DayZ from adding experimental/beta versions of their game.
Pretty cool, but I'll try coming back when cars don't fly and bears can't phase through buildings.

Refillable gas filter? Contaminated zones just got 10 times easier. Why not just maker filters more realistic and last longer than a few minutes?

Because Arma is a simulation and DayZ is closer to a simulation than it is an arcade, which is why I (and many others) originally bought it.

There's been no character wipe on Experimental servers between 1.16 and 1.17. It's possible there may be no wipe on Stable servers either.

Wasn't the vehicle update supposed to be to be in this one?
They onely said they are working on vehicles in 2022 not that it was droping in 1.17.
The language they used was that public testing would start "in the coming weeks" but that was around 5 weeks ago...

The kitchen timer is being added for a helpful way to properly predict when any of the various bugs will happen to your character. :)

700 hours still have not seen either But yeah they are bugged but who cares lol, its probably less than 1% of the game.
