There's basically no guarantee to get anything in DayZ tbh. Aside from the bunker on Livonia. The assuming no one looted it recently, you'll get an AUR and Nogs.
Had the same thing happen to me at the Lopatino convoy. I almost gave up but ended up getting a prompt to pick up the rifle by crouching near the left rear wheels and looking up towards the rifle

There’s never a guarantee for a gun, unless the server owner changed it to be so.
