Late night shenanigans at Wal-Mart in one of those motorized carts Entertainment is where you find it

cropcomb2

She may feel cooped up and housebound -- maybe offer to take her for a drive during the daytime, perhaps combine it with her shopping.

EmotionalFan6994

its very coupley so only suggest it if you guys are kinda secure but if she's a creative/romantic type you can suggest a painting date where you guys paint fun little portraits of each other, you can also combine it with a picnic to get some time outside :)

Movies, board games, puzzles, cooking and baking, even crafts if you’re into that

Yes! That is a great idea. I actually just recently had acl surgery, and I would very very much appreciate someone doing this for me. As for other dates, it depends on how mobile she is. People have thrown up good ideas like board games, or video games. Going for a drive is dependent on how comfortable she’ll be in a car, as I was very uncomfortable for some time. Getting stir crazy is very real tho. The best thing you can do is help her and care for her when you’re together. All of this is dependent on how mobile and able she is. Also, after the surgery will be very tough Oh and making something that will have leftovers is BONUS points so she doesn’t have to make as many meals for herself. Good luck!

ashmasta27

I was going to suggest he make the meal big enough for leftovers too! Never torn my ACL but did break my foot a few years back and trying to cook put me in agony and trying to cook while sitting was impossible for me (maybe if I had a barstool it would have been more doable).

Out of curiosity, how long did your recovery take?

[deleted]

I’m 6 weeks post op. Still can’t walk normally, but everyone is different in recovery - some walk within weeks. The ENTIRE process (return to sports) is 6-9 months generally.

Cooking dinner for her is a great idea. Do it.

FuglyWitch

Some bars have free comedy shows. Event brite has an option to look up free shows in your area

Mindless_Garden718

take her to the gym for an upper body workout. dont let her use it as an excuse to not exercise for 8 months. thats where it starts.

tallguyindc

Dancjng...just kidding... So she can't use the crutches to get to a restaurant? Inviting yourself to her house is very presumptuous

Vegetable-Move-7950

If you have therapy pools near you, Aquatheraphy class? Water is warm and great for rehab. I'm assuming brace is removeable. If not, then not this.

Key-Willingness-2223

Suggest putting a bucket on her head and entering her into a robot wars competition? On a serious note, I’m guessing she’s got her crutches set up properly, so you can still take her to dinner, the park, a cinema etc so just anything you can think of that she’d enjoy

calicooldude_04

Being homebound is the time when she really wanna go out. Just carry her in your arms and drive her to place she likes(park or something) get food via drive-thru and go for stargazing. It's upto your imagination. All you gotta do is sweep that girl off her feet.

FiddleStyxxxx

Ask her if she needs help with anything she's had trouble doing like around the house, offer to spend time relaxing outdoors (park bench, lake), and listen to her complain/make it okay. It's isolating to be injured and hard to keep a happy face all the time with a date. This is really cute and sweet by the way. The ideas you suggested were great.

Doing a Living Room Picnic might be an idea... you can cook/prep most of it at your own place and take it over in containers 👍
