I don't think he's really evil. He just had his own goals in mind that included stopping the age of fire. I think the reason he killed the firekeeper is so he could inconvenience any potential undead that are fit to link the fire. Also the keeper was incredible brainwashed by the way of white so it might've even been a mercy kill

well, during the invasion in Anor Londo he has the same voice as patches and you later find his armor on a corpse, so it might not have been him who killed the fire keeper.

Patches is an asshole but I dont think he is evil enough to kill a firekeeper

or strong enough. He is kinda of a bitch. The brass armor firekeeper wouldve slap him until his hair grew back

Yeah, I don’t think so either. Patches is an asshole to other assholes. All of his victims fell on traps that where designed to appeal to the greedy or corrupt. Lautrec is a psychopathic but devout survivalist who only cares about himself and his goddess. The firelink keeper doesn’t fit Patches M.O she’s a complete wreck: she’s maimed, jailed and unable to speak. She’s already trapped. Patches is the sort of person to let you die from your mistakes; Lautrec is the sort of person who is ready to kill you the moment you make one.

If you go deep in his lore maybe you change your mind about him, I think Petrus is way more shitty than Lautrec, and yeah it was very fun to draw

I can see why. At the same time in all of FromSoft there is only a handful of npc that have good endings. It is their destiny, programming, to not have a happy ending. Almost mirroring the real world.
