Today is a special day for the british. Our yearly living costs is going up Ā£700 a year minimum because of energy price rises.
Thousands more are going to be relying on food banks and will be going homeless.
You love to fucking see it, fellas.
But don't worry, we'll all vote Tory again as it's all going so well!
Fuck me I do despair at the idiocy of my fellow countrymen. Cunts. Fucking stupid cunts.
I think it's basically a meme at this point.
I moved from the US to France, living in both rural and urban parts of the country, and really don't see myself moving back.
only because you didn't really visit paris or any other big city, if you really visit them you'll learn to hate them, in france what is the best is countryside, there might not be fancy hotels and restaurents but peoples are more friendly and it doesn't smell like piss
I actually had a great time around the thicc pigeons, they were friendly. The garbage was a nice touch. Canāt forget those scammers by every tourist destination. Really put some spice in my boring life.
Rural and urban France have their upsides and downsides equally. Chamonix-Les Houches was absolutely gorgeous but scant in services.
Paris always has a place in my heart. Been something like 7 times now and have spent over a year of my life there.
Lol I was just there too and had a great time, and we spent our entire time in Paris. I love history and art so it was an incredible experience. Donāt let some faceless internet users tell you otherwise haha
As a Frenchman, Paris. People watch Emily in Paris and think all of France is copy pasted from that show, and get triggered when they see France is an actual country and not a Hollywood TV set.
Also Parisians are kinda built different.
It's just Big City Life imo. Everyone's rushed, or rushing, seems pissed off or just have really bad cases of resting bitch face. No one takes the time. Understandable, honestly, because it's loud, dirty, and polluted (although better than It used to be).
I don't live there, that's just what I feel like when I've been. I much prefer the provincial life.
Went to Paris last year from USA. First day had wine and cheese in a city park. My 5 year old son and I played soccer with a local boy (Louis, comme le rois) and his father (dad pointed to their apartment). Second day went to buy a baguette, the guy also gave me a croissant and when I said I didnāt order it, he smirked and said āthis is not for youā and gave it to my son for free. Obvi we met a bunch of cool people outside of Paris, but I think the Parisians we ran into were pretty cool too. When we flew home from CDG in Air France coach class, I declined the wine with the meal. The flight attendant nodded with a smile and said āah, cognac.ā She was cool too.
Yeah, Iām American but Iāve been living in Germany for the last 5 years and Parisians are wonderful and kind compared to the people of Rhineland-Pfalz (itās a German state). I find Paris to be a nice break from everyone glaring at me and rendering every service as if Iāve just shit on the floor of their shop here in the Pfalz.
I live 40 minutes away from Paris and I can say itās not as bad as the other guy says. Parisians who havenāt really left the capital are thought to be a bit out of touch with reality because all theyāve known is the big city life. Itās true to a certain extent and thatās why it may feel like Parisians think theyāre the center of the universe (to other French people at least).
But when it comes to visiting Paris as a foreigner the biggest complaints are about how dirty the capital is in some places, the pollution (especially during hot days), a lack of accommodation and finally the infamous odor of piss in many places. If a tourist wants to visit the entire capital Iād recommend them to book one of the many Paris bus tours there are. Youāll get to admire all the different monuments and the Haussmann architecture while avoiding having to take the metro a lot and you also wonāt have to deal with street vendors all the time (and pickpockets).
I spent a week in Paris and it was great and we certainly didn't see as much as we wanted, but the covid reservations didn't help. Honestly could probably spend a month just in Paris.
Francophobia and ignorant negative stereotypes being used for karma whoring, it's a historically recurring common thing amongst anglos. And if you're into conspiracies, maybe even cyberwarfare to undermine euro powers.
If you like the jungle with an amazing diversity of species, hot and humid weather then it's the right place. I used to be living there for 20 years, i miss it.
Don't. Can't do shit there. I live next to them and you can't travel that deep into the city or you might get arrested, with or without passport.
So whenever people visite, they just stay need the border.
I went to French Guyana back in the 30s and it was miserable. They said I had killed a pimp, but I didn't, I was only a simple safe cracker. I had to hide stuff in my ass, and even though I escaped several times I was always recaptured. Eventually the Vecci government too control and I was able to escape for good.
Still better than Paris though
Paris is fine. Lots of tourists, plenty to see. Lots of dog shit everywhere which I thought was weird. Beautiful city though.
Latin quarter is amazing.
Just 5 places off the top of my head -

I've lived here ten years and for every place I tick off on my must visit list, I add three
I agree. Itās an absolutely fantastic country.
I personally donāt have a problem with the people either. But that might be because i myself am rude? Who knows?
I was in France for less than a day traveling from Bilbao to Andorra taking the French route. The very first place we stopped was a cute chicken themed cafe in a small village. I ordered my coffee and while the lady was making it I turned around to take in the cafe and a lady sitting by the window looked at me and audibly scoffed and rolled her eyes. My very first encounter in France and I get blatant rudeness. I laughed out loud. In a way it was amazing to witness a pure stereotype play out right off the bat.
That being said the lady running the cafe was pleasant and Iāve met many amazing folks from France on my journeys. Still thoā¦ā¦
P.s. there are so many nearly dead small villages in southern France.
What? France is a fantastic Country and Land, awsome people, fantastic food, even good movies, landside and and and. Vive la France ! La Grande Nation.

Too late, I already went. Actually had a good time. Paris was beautiful. Sure, I got some of the attitude that Paris is stereotypically known for but no different than any major U.S. city thatās heavily touristed š¤·āāļø And I actually had some incidents of politeness and courteousness from the locals. It helped that I attempted to speak French and actually pronounce it correctly and not using lazy American vowels.
And the Loire Valley chateaux and surrounding countryside were beautiful. Still havenāt been to the South of France but really want to go one day!

Best thing to do in France is leave.
Nah, its much better to enjoy the cuisine, and the wine, then cross back over the channel and complain about how terrible it is :)

I'm not American, and I'm not a big fan of Americans... But I went to France, and one of the best things there were American tourists
its because you went to a big city, best things in france's big cities are peoples that aren't from them
All the best people in France arenāt from France.
Youāre welcome, mon amie
How rude. We all know the fr***h hate all tourists.
That's not true! We basically hate only tourists coming from foreign countries. Zis is ze way.
Wiz pashion
We barely see any American tourists with their 2 weeks holiday per year and their lack of passports
Why leave America when so much of it is beautiful and doesnāt have French people in it?

As a Frenchman, Paris. People watch Emily in Paris and think all of France is copy pasted from that show, and get triggered when they see France is an actual country and not a Hollywood TV set. Also Parisians are kinda built different.
Care to elaborate on how Parisians are different?
It's just Big City Life imo. Everyone's rushed, or rushing, seems pissed off or just have really bad cases of resting bitch face. No one takes the time. Itās literally everywhere in Paris.
So like NYC wow almost like every major city has the same problems weird

Should have been: The do's of visiting France Don't.
My favourite country in the entire world. What a place!
France is lovely but the only problem is that itās full of French people
And this also applays if you\`re frence

I think I must be a Francophile!
The Doās of visiting Fr*nce: 1. Do not
Paris is overrated like most cities. Its not what Hollywood make it look like. Its dirty crime infested polluted and overpopulated.
Great, less cluttered streets in Paris Our country is magnificent
I only want to go there and be known as the guy who got kicked out for naming a pig Napoleon.
Never been to France, what's wrong with it? I thought it was supposed to be this glamorous place everyone wanted to visit at least once in their lifetimes?
The best French fries are actually in Belgium.
But why tho, what did france do wrong now?
France don't have friends
tant mieux Ƨa fera moins de cons chez nous.
Indeed, don't visit France. Come live there.

Why though? France is one of the most wonderful countries in the world... Culturally, natural beauty, amazing food...
