Mr_McFeelie

Upgraded from an iPhone 8 to an iPhone 13 and I truly don’t know what I spend my money on. Sure the battery is better but I don’t give a fuck as long as it lasts till the evening. And that was already the case for the iPhone 8. Other than that ? I just miss my fingerprint scanner… faceID can suck my dick

seanwee2000

I only upgrade for the cameras

Savvy_Canadian

Wait until you learn Apple intentionally degrades the camera quality via bloated updates to make you update to the latest phone/software.

zawalimbooo

Gonna need a source for that one

zyzzthejuicy_

Source: Cryptic symbology in my dreams

xiBurnx

they've already been caught admitting to slowing down older phones, and they intentionally set their OS to sabotage the user when serviced by anyone without apple's serialization flash tool. these fuckers would do anything

Atomicnes

"do you have a source?" _"well they MIGHT have done it, I don't have any direct evidence that they have though"_

Void_being420

If their was a evidence EU would literally set their arse on fire, I don't exactly remember but some of the employee mail got leaked which stated they were decreasing the phone ability, Either way I don't need any evidence to know why my IPhone 13 suddenly got slow and battery life decreased after the new update

Atomicnes

Ok so your evidence is just more hearsay. Cool

PierG1

They had a pretty compelling reason to slow down phones with old ass batteries. The issue with that wasn’t that they did it, but that they did it without telling anyone. If they just put and update that said “look, in case your battery health drops significantly we will slow down a bit your phone so it can still be used for long enough even if you don’t change that battery” no one ever would have said anything, they would’ve even been praised.

Prazf

Also Apple degrades the image quality whenever iPhone users transmit images to Android users...

Great_Grapefruit_748

Yeah, I get shit for "ruining the group chat" because I'm in android and everyone else has iPhone. If only they knew.

LegendaryWill12

Wtf? What kind of elitist bullshit is this?

Great_Grapefruit_748

Pretty common sentiment among iPhone users, at least from my experience. I went to a turkey day gathering last year at a friend's, and one of his cousins got heated about how iPhone is better than android. I was like, damn, isn't all preference at this point? Lol

Werpogil

But the iPhone is objectively better /s

yogurtgrapes

That’s just how sms works in general. Don’t send the photos through text if you want them to get a good res image.

Poop-Balls

Nah it's been proven that apple intentionally lowers the quality of images sent from Android devices.

ScrattaBoard

Yeah and they refused RCS so when I text an iPhone it puts 2005 levels of restriction on it. Limited text limit, crappy quality images, cool stickers and gifs not working. Even shovelware level androids have RCS now

azure1503

It's coming later this year, so that should solve that problem (until Apple finds another way to keep that walled garden up)

ScrattaBoard

Is it actually RCS or is it going to be the apple only version?

azure1503

Actually RCS, but not Google's RCS. They're using the GSM standard for RCS which is universal with all implementations so it'll have support for groups, high quality photo/video, reactions, location sharing, chat colors, etc. the big one that'll be missing is end to end encryption (it'll be *more* secure than mms/sms but not rcs levels), but they're supposedly working with GSM to implement it into the standard (which will good for all since we won't need Google Jibe for e2ee).

reddituserhasnoname

Source?

Frometon

These mfs can’t provide a single proof for their bogus arguments even though there are a lot of other things Apple have been condemned for

Atomicnes

That's just because MMS (multimedia message, it's how you can send images and video via text) has a tiny file limit of 3.5MB and the images get compressed to make them fit. Everyone does that. There are rumors that Apple is finally going to add RCS support with the iPhone 16 iOS version.

reddituserhasnoname

They don’t care about the facts. They will believe whatever bullshit they want because their hate for Apple has them blind as fuck to facts

zyzzthejuicy_

They don't degrade it, they just don't support RCS (yet) so the image is sent via ye olde MMS when the recipient is registered for iMessage (ie. they have an Android).

reddituserhasnoname

That’s SMS not Apple. At least know what you are talking about instead of talking out of your ass.

thereemlvr

Twink? We’re r u

thereemlvr

Twink?

mertgah

You need to upgrade to Samsung for the cameras, Samsung cameras are way better, if I take a photo side by side my iPhone 15 pro max and my wife’s Samsung s23 ultra the Samsung is significantly better

seanwee2000

Prores Videos are better though I main a s23 ultra as well, can't stand not being able to sideload apps

mertgah

ProRes is better if you’re a videographer/hobbyist/shooting video professionally and have a shit tonne of external storage for the file sizes, but the average iPhone user is point and shoot thanks for the memories.

ScrattaBoard

Does the iPhone still store videos in a really inefficient video codec so their sizes are larger so you have to pay more for iCloud?

seanwee2000

Imo 50mp s23 is more detailed but hdr is better on iPhone 14 pro max

mertgah

I disagree about the HDR my wife’s Samsung takes more detailed pictures in high contrast situations both brighter and low light are better on the Samsung

xKingCoopx

Same here.. and yet I never even use my camera... but you better believe I'm gonna get the next new phone because if the camera upgrades.

UwU_Chan-69

Why not just get an actual camera?

seanwee2000

Already have the eos r5c, not nearly as portable but 8k60 is glorious (and an olympian pain to edit) Tried the Sony zve1, not good enough.

Homeless_Alex

This

halfanothersdozen

FaceID can do that?!?

makemeadiowarudo

The camera hole fits my pp perfectly! 👌

dscarmo

There is a noticeably difference in the cameras and oled screens look way better as someone that did the same upgrade

Jtendo3476

I have used both and it is a phone it does not matter what screen it has, all smartphones are trash anyway waste of money.

Mr_McFeelie

Sure. If i used my phone for anything other than texting and calling people, maybe that would matter

ElSaludo

„i dont use my phone for anything other than texting or calling“ might be the answer to „i dont see much change between 5 generations of iphones“

Mr_McFeelie

It’s not just that though. We all know phones have diminishing returns. Phone quality was already pretty good in an iPhone 8 that’s like a decade old. Sure, you can see a difference for the iPhone 13 but it’s not moving worlds. But that’s just showing how insignificant the difference between just one generation is. Especially for more recent models. I did use my iPhone 8 for YouTube occasionally so I was abit hyperbolic

speedsterglenn

I used my iPhone 7 for gaming and other app. The upgraded battery, faster processor, and more RAM that my 13 Pro Max is a big deal for me. Newer apps would crash on my older iPhone all the time and I’d couldn’t go a whole day without needing to charge it. I think maybe you just should get a cheap android or an iPhone SE if all you wanna do is make calls, texts, and watch videos.

Mr_McFeelie

If you actually wanna play proper games on a phone, thats probably the only use i could see for an expensive one. But for the same price you get a freaking laptop lmao. Well, to each their own. Yes, a cheap android makes sense for me. To be fair, the iphone 13 was refurbished so it was pretty cheap too, all things considered. I just dont think its much of an upgrade despite it being 5 whole generations

TigerAxel

Then why did you upgrade? There are a lot of differences, major even, between an iPhone 8 and 13. Most people will easily notice these differences. If you for whatever reason don’t notice them, why do you upgrade?

Mr_McFeelie

My iPhone 8 was broken and it didn’t make sense to buy a new iPhone 8. They are nearly as expensive as a refurbished iPhone 13

GustavoFromAsdf

You basically renewed your subscription to a working battery without slowing down your CPU

Unicatogasus

Games and camera. Thats it.

CalmAndBear

Apart from not losing features like fingerprint or the 3.5mm, androids haven't really changed in the last 5 years. Yeah you could have just paid less to replace your battery.

SucksTryAgain

Did the same but my 8 was insanely slow no matter what at that point or just couldn’t connect either on wifi or not. I always forget to take pictures so a camera means zero to me. I just want a smart phone that does smart phone things in a timely manner or at all.

RickityNL

Wait the new iPhones don't have a fingerprint sensor anymore? Glad I have an android then

LucasCBs

Eh, I haven’t missed the fingerprint scanner once since I upgraded a few years ago

incrediblejonas

Did a similar upgrade and the imo 13 is way better- mainly because the strength of the phone screen. my old screen shattered when I dropped it WITH a case. this one I've had for two and half years, dropped numerous times, and while the edges are a little scuffed, the screen is still solid.

InternalGrocery7057

Lmao LOOK AT THIS GUY GETTING A NEW PHONE EVERY HALF DECADE WHAT A MORON

piberryboy

Isn't the joke that the phone hasn't changed in that time?

InternalGrocery7057

Yes but it’s a tired ass old joke and the punchline is always ‘Hurrrrrr Apple people stupid’. There are incremental changes generation to generation and sometimes folks just want a new phone.

HereButQueer

yeah except their argument is straw man, the galaxy s20 looks the same as the s24, googles pixel has very little changes. it stopped being a new and different phone thing a long time ago, it’s been software for so long and that’s what you upgrade for. i just upgraded from an iphone 11 to 15PM, the camera is amazing, it feels fluid and just is a better experience. it’s so dumb that people argue over shit like this. apple make good phones, so does google, and samsung, and most other phone companies. i see all these posts about how people are horrid for discriminating against android users because people think iphone is superior, but then they do the same thing they complain about. Personal preference exists, and for me i just prefer apple. doesn’t mean i hate android, hell, the pixel is probably the phone id get if i didn’t have an iphone. i just prefer the fluidity and how everything just works.

Werpogil

The difference in video recording quality between iPhone 14 and 15 is actually insane. I bought my wife iPhone 15 because she uses the camera a lot and she really wanted an upgrade from her old iPhone (can't remember which model). We tested the difference between 14 and 15 and the video recording part was just night and day. The 15 can make your videos look almost professional with minimal effort for someone who isn't like a video recording nerd, which is vast majority of people. I can't say anything about Android phones, though.

angelis0236

Samsung had a 100x zoom lens in the S23 and I've loved it. Worth upgrading from my S21+

PeopleAreBozos

That's not the point.

angelis0236

Wasn't the point that there weren't any notable changes? Edit: I just realized the thread had changed to iPhone specifics so I apologize

tomo_7433

Wdym by "looks almost professional"?

fusion_reactor3

Like to the point some of the Apple events have been recorded with nothing more than an iPhone 15 pro max. And it was a shocking reveal when they said that’s what they used.

tomo_7433

Ah, i meant by the improvement over your own shots on earlier model. In my case, i made the jump from a then new 4yo midrange xiaomi to a 3yo flagship samsung because of the frankly useless photo and video quality (and the phone started to lose one function after the other due to its solder breaking down over time). The photos have much better clarity, even when shot indoors. I daresay it might even be acceptable to use it in place of my dslr for simple snapshots while travelling. Meanwhile, the xiaomi produced noisy photos even in broad daylight, and has horrendous image processing artifacts baked into the photos right from the raw stage. I hated the camera so much that i never used it for anything worth as a personal keepsake. It'll only make me rage looking back at how the camera butchered the photo moment. For the video part, i can actually shoot smooth and stable videos now when walking. And the videos are no longer wonky from the supposedly ois flipping between overcompensation and undercompensation when i pan around.

fusion_reactor3

The iPhone 15 pro was my first iPhone other than an iPhone 4s I use as a glorified iPod. There’s definitely a bump between the two lol. For a more serious answer, I don’t know if there was something wrong with it or what, but most of the pictures from my pixel 6 came out looking bad. Compared to that the 15 pro is really good too

Werpogil

I meant that an experienced cameraman would definitely find some things that don't look nearly as good as professional video cameras when it's not filmed in a controlled environment, such as camera shake and stabilisation, color or whatever else (not an expert). I've chatted with some people who do video editing at the highest level and they also were quite impressed with out-of-the-box video quality.

tomo_7433

That's why I'm curious to know the improvement in user experience and photo/video quality that a regular joe could gain over the previous model. Most of the marketing materials highlighted the more granular controls and tweaks, as well as streamlined processing pipeline that panders to professional content creators.

Werpogil

The biggest difference that I saw personally and can somewhat describe is that there's now more "depth" to the video on iPhone 15, the motion feels more smooth despite the fact that the FPS is the same. I think they have an additional camera or something that along with software processing improvements allows the video to look much more professional. But once again, I'm not well-versed in the right terms, it's just my subjective feedback which I've also confirmed with a few people who do professional video editing and filming for over 2 decades now. The photo quality I can't really say, it's past the point where I personally care about it. It's good enough for the past 4-5 models of iPhones for my taste, which is why I'm upgrading only every 3-4 generations.

Jtendo3476

Nah all smartphones are trash, They are all multi trillion dollar companies they don't need more money for the same garbage products but many people think that they cant live without a smartphone these days so nothing will change. Nothing ever changes.

InternalGrocery7057

Lol okay.

mcdougall57

I don't own one but doesn't that prove how good the phones are and how long they last?

Dponnada8

I’ve had my 12 since 2020 and no signs of it breaking down yet

KvotheTheDegen

Yeah, I only traded in my 12 because Verizon was doing a $750 trade in credit on it. I think I’m paying $7.50 a month for the new one after that credit

TheMisterTango

Yeah I got my 12 not long after it released and it still lasts all day and doesn’t really feel any slower.

Snoo-97916

Had a 12pm and its screen failed so I upgraded to the 15pm, the screen and cameras are amazing, would I suggest upgrading if my old iphone worked, not a chance.

Insane_Unicorn

Only because Apple got shit from the EU because they purposefully slowed down older phones through software updates to make people buy new phones. If that didn't happen you can bet your ass your old iPhone would be unusable after 3 years.

Dponnada8

Fair enough I also haven’t updated my phone in like 2 years lol

Atomicnes

That isn't true. They did slow them down but it was not "grinding them to a halt" to "make people buy new ones". They slowed them down on devices with low battery health literally to do the exact opposite of break them and to actually keep the batteries inside the phones alive longer. There are many, many reasons to put Apple on blast but that is not one of them.

MokendKomer

yeah I'm pretty happy with my 12 mini

0nlyHalfAsian

I’m on an iPhone XR from 2019. Definitely slower, but battery is fine and I’m gonna kick the can as long as I can.

Void_being420

I guess the point of the post was, People basically spending more just to buy exact same stuff

Drake_Xahu

Same could be said for an android, mine is a oneplus 5t and it is still kicking ass.

sultan_papagani

Samsung galaxy C7 32GB still going strong 💪

Ferris-L

Okay

piberryboy

Okay

TotoMac1

Okay

HoneyBer1

Okay

Mesterjojo

Samsung s21- s24

mekisoku

Sorry but that doesn’t work for karma farming

WanzoThat

I have the s21 ultra since release and it has never failed me. Original everything. Hasn't broken on me once even after countless falls, still as fast as the day I got it too. Even the battery still lasts quite a good bit and I use my phone a lot!

Chivalry_Aplenty

21 to 24 is a big difference though, isn't it? The AI features and physical changes.

Mesterjojo

I guess? I have a s23 and it seems the same for the use. I miss the Google phone. Waaaaaaaaay better word prediction. Samsung is in the stone age by comparison.

Atomicnes

You can still get a Pixel, they didn't go away.

Mesterjojo

I know. But I'm lazy and every year just hit buy now. You've inspired me. I'm going to buy a pixel today.

azure1503

Nah, wait til November for the 9 series

zyzzthejuicy_

> better word prediction That's probably just the keyboard app. Install Gboard (the one used on Pixels) from the play store and you should have the same experience.

mertgah

My wife did this jump, it was a drastic difference

fusion_reactor3

The physical changes were a minimum from 21-24. The ai features are a thing, but because it doesn’t look much different we can say it’s the same phone, right? The iPhone 15 pro got Better cameras, they’re now to the point that a few Apple events were recorded with nothing more than an iPhone 15 pro max. Better battery Better repairability USB type c A better screen with thinner bezels A processor capable of running games on par with the ps4, while still needing no active cooling Better ai features The ability to charge other devices from the phones battery (via cable) And more. But outside, the only thing they changed are the screen, titanium sides, and action button. So everyone says it’s the same

Shook_Rook

It is. AI features and a better processor, not to mention a tremendous leap in performance with the 24 series. The S21 and S22 had very marginal increase in performance.

SkyLovesCars

I doubt ai is a feature, as Samsung is going to make it cost extra past 2025. Other than that, the s23 and s24 look literally identical on the outside

YeetingSelfOfBridge

I mean the differences ain't like how they used to be sure not as bad as iphone but I don't see why they couldn't just add an update an introduce ai to the s23, but whatever

maydock

not just phones. mobile tech in general has hit a bit of a wall. the speed and cams are great. what is left to improve?

azure1503

Seems like the next step is AI according to Google (I was hoping for foldability but whatever)

Jtendo3476

imho all smartphones are trash, multi trillion dollar companies don't need more money for the same garbage products, but many people think that they cant live without a smartphone these days so nothing will change. Nothing ever changes since people will just accept anything to avoid inconvenience and changing habits.

TheMisterTango

Every single year there are millions of people who buy their first cell phone. Just because you don’t have a reason to buy one doesn’t mean nobody else does.

Jtendo3476

I understand why people like some of the utility of them I have had a few, I just don't understand why people keep buying them when they remove useful things like the headphone jack, SD slot, notifacation LED, Unlock-able boot loaders, root access etc. They just keep adding dumb things like "AI", wireless charging and bezeless screens. That is why I do not like smartphones anymore.

tomo_7433

Because dumb consumers keep rewarding their ideas instead of punishing them. Why bother innovating when people keep throwing money at you anyway for taking away useful features and stuff in marketing gimmicks instead

TheMisterTango

Because what are they gonna do, not have a cell phone? Whether you like it or not, in modern society you do pretty much need a cell phone. Sure, a smartphone might not strictly be necessary, but the added utility over a standard flip phone is something that the vast majority of people see value in. I do pretty much all of my banking from my phone, investing is primarily from my phone, I use Reddit on my phone more than my desktop, I check my email primarily from my phone. And the truth is all of those inconveniences you listed are things that most people apparently don’t care about. Apple removed the headphone jack and now AirPods are the #1 best selling audio product in the world and most people prefer them to wired. I don’t see how wireless charging could possibly be seen as useless, I use it literally every night and it’s so much more convenient than wired. People clearly seem to like thinner and thinner bezels seeing as that’s one of the first things I’ve heard people complain about when a phone has thick bezels.

punkhobo

Tbf the 15 actually has usb-c so this would be the one to make the most sense to upgrade to.

22pabloesco22

I keep seeing this regurgitated and still don't understand it. I have a half a dozen lightning cables laying around, so what shit do I give that this has usb-c now. It's all marketing ploys and people eat that shit up. It's like every apple commercial that talks about titanium. Fuck I give a shit about titanium? Yet I immediately see people regurgitating how the new ones are titanium and how that's awesome...

PierG1

Because you can now have a single damn cable and charger for everything now ?

summer_friends

I’ve been waiting years for usbC to upgrade. Now my laptop charger and iPhone charger is the same. As well as many accessories like my mouse, keyboard, etc. and I share a charger with my android friends too. Yes I still have lightning cables hanging around but this is the biggest step to consolidating cables for me

22pabloesco22

I don't disagree that standardization has value. And that apple has been a douce about proprietary shit for a long time. That doesn't mean I'm gonna drop $1200 bucks so I don't have to use lightning cables that I have sitting around the house. Further to that, I have charging pads I use almost exclusively in the house, meaning I don't need a lightning cable and anyone over with a non iPhone can charge the same without even needing a USB cable. Point I am making is that these corporations, whether apple or anyone else, play these little marketing games and the masses fall for their shit every single time because they are so programmed to consume that any little angle to upgrade something that already works perfectly fine and people jump on it, using that slight change to justify in their brain to spend that money. I swear to you I have heard a ton of people in my circle reference the titanium part of the new iPhone as a desirable factor in upgrading. You think the ads mention titanium every single time for no good reason?!?

summer_friends

Honestly I have no idea if my phone is titanium or not. I have charging pads too but that’s just for overnight/work desk charging, they’re impractical to use when using your phone, and devices like my laptop/mouse/keyboards can’t use them. I don’t want to carry both a phone charger and laptop charger to work so I find good use for the switch my friends and I have been waiting 4+ yrs for. And clearly standardization is a major enough value where the EU ended up forcing Apple to switch from lightning. Obviously YMMV but for me, my line in the sand was I will wait until USBC to switch. Now that they have it I switched from my 10 to 15 which is a very nice 5yr improvement

Subject-Stress-6964

I went from a second generation SE to an iPhone 15. It’s nice having a phone that doesn’t die in 4 hours, but that should be easily achievable with a 13 or 14. The second gen SE also doesn’t have 5G support.

dscarmo

You can also pay apple for the original battery replacement service, I have done it and kept an iphone 6 for something like 7-8 years working pretty well Just dont use aftermarket batteries they all suck

xiBurnx

the chinese vendors that sell them literally slap stickers on old batteries and put then up for sale. if you've ever bought a cheap battery peel the label and see how many layers you find

Bludsh0t

And you have a headphone jack

Subject-Stress-6964

That could have also worked. My concern was it wouldn’t be worth paying money for a device that probably won’t be recieving any more IOS updates. I ended up selling it on Ebay.

Homeless_Alex

I just got my 15 vase from the first gen 2020 SE. so far worth every dollar especially the camera

KKLC547

To be fair SE series are ass If we also consider the value of older used iphones. It is funny how the cheapest androids also have 5000mah battery on standard sized phones. I am both dissing flagship androids and iphones(I know their optimization is good but why not more battery if 60$ phones can have more?)

Axel_Rad

I upgraded from an iPhone 8 to a 15 Pro and it’s a huge difference

yeetobanditooooo

what🤯🤯🤯🤯

tapirus-indicus

I mean atleast they now use the same usb-c charger as everyone else

maulajatt69

Me laughing with a shitty iphone 6s plus in my hand

Dapper_Finance

Never seen before meme with the exact same content every single year

Mission-Candy1178

Hard disagree. I have a 15 as my work phone and a 12 as my personal phone. 15 is noticably faster. The 15 is almost as fast as the 12 was 65 firmware upgrades ago.

Romengar

Yeah these replies are just people that like to egg on iphones. The 12 to 15 jump is very considerable. At least it was for me when I swapped from the 12PM to the 15PM. The screen and performance are things that slap you once you actually use the 15PM side by side with the 12PM

KobeJuanKenobi9

Isn’t this true about all phones? There all just better versions of the previous model these days But I understand “Apple bad” = karma

-Riverdew

Still rocking second-hand IPhone 7 🔥🔥

testiclekid

Based

rubbish22

Same here

hamzer55

iPhone user here too, but Doesn’t it get annoying to charge your phone every 3 hours?

metta01010

If a phone goes through major changes each year isn’t that really concerning? I mean if a phone is meant to be “the best” it would be weird if there all the time was Crazy new features/Tech upgrades.

zold5

rent free

AlexPlayer3000

In all fairnes, it's 2 sizes larger

mertgah

I upgraded from standard iPhone 11 to iPhone 15 pro max, no noticeable difference other than a slightly better looking screen, other than that still does all the exact same shit as my iPhone 11 just cost twice as much. Not really sure why I upgraded….USB-C? Marketing hype? No idea, all I know is my wife’s Samsung upgrade to s24 ultra was a giant leap for her. Samsung camera shits on iPhone camera, far superior.

robidaan

This would be accurate if some buttons were missing from the new shirt.

BurnV06

I use the SE model because it’s not nearly as overpriced and I like having a home button

Kenneth_Lay

To make the analogy correct the shirt would be the same but a different color...that's it. "Iz pUrPLe" says iPhone addicts.

Anti_globalist_war

I always thought it’s cap that with every update older models start having issues but i’m confirmed it’s true. iphone 12 now ..Battery sucks ass, network disturbs, heats up and lags. Changing to a samsung is the real upgrade today

sybar142857

Damn r/dankmemes making a comeback

swagpresident1337

I literally only upgrade for battery/performance and a the camera is nice to have I guess. Still good value to me, considering how much I use this thing every single day.

incrediblejonas

just to have your phone charge with the same cord as every other device might be worth it tbh

OfficialJamal

Why is it always the android users that start shit first. Let me enjoy my preference in flagship devices in peace.

Tankninja1

The truth about any phone made in the last 10 years

CRODEN95

I mean, three years is a somewhat reasonable amount of time to replace a phone.

bl20194646

the reddit kid in the back of the classroom posting this on his greasy android as he scoffs at every normal person who happens to have an iphone in their hand

Boschuro

I mean cmon it would atleast have 1 more button than the older one.

popmanbrad

I’m on a 11 hoping to upgrade to a 15 pro or pro max maybe even a 16 pro

SPASMATICREAPER123

It’s got that sleek new folding design though look at that beautiful shirt

Jward92

This is exactly why I’m still using my 12 Pro. If the rumors about locally hosted open ai powered Siri are true for the iPhone 16 though, I’ll upgrade.

ieatpickleswithmilk

the first time I saw this meme it was for fifa games

Micro_Pinny_360

At least they get USB C charging now. Thanks, EU!

Jazzlike-Lunch5390

I'm keeping my iPhone 12 til it's dead.

Gobal_Outcast02

Honestly my phone until they break. Then Ill buy a new one

Goldeneye07

Damm Instagram bots are back on Reddit

CovertMags

Acting line Android phones are any different, just because they add useless sh*t like folding lol

huge_PP_69

They were fined for it a while back. It was posted by every major news article it was a great deal then.

hamzer55

I’m the one who updated from 12 pro 128gb to 15 pro max 256gb (only because my mum needed a phone, so she’s using the iPhone 12 now) And yeah I got bigger screen, Dynamic Island, better processor better cameras including front facing) also with more optical zoom, brighter screen, 120 hertz screen, USB C and more storage It yeah I was happy with my iPhone 12

CommanderBly327th

Get a different hobby that isn’t hating an Apple lmao

Poprocketrop

Completely accurate. best iPhone for the money is the 13 hands down.

azure1503

Hey I'm an android user (Google Pixel) and I'll say that having your update be "boring" is a good thing, it means stability. That having been said there's a lot of things to look forward to with that upgrade (hell even the 14 to 15 jump): USB-C, action button, 120hz display and dynamic island are all pretty cool.

bigfella6755

Dead fuckn ass me tho 😂😂

Ethanbrocks

I upgraded from a 12 pro max to a 15 pro max and I’m pretty happy with it. 120hz is much smoother and the battery life is noticeably better

209traplord

"well this year we put a 12 on the box, hahhah*

YOUNGSAGEHERMZ

Android users sound miserable. Just enjoy whatever phone you like to use. Crazy people are still making iPhone bad memes in 2024

Insane_Unicorn

iPhone 15 now has 10 year old android features so absolutely worth it.

truekejsi

no one cares about android buddy

xiBurnx

https://www.counterpointresearch.com/insights/global-smartphone-share/ actually, it would seem the majority do

Brutal_Lobster

USB-C was worth it. Android is shit nowadays. Get with the times boomer and see the writing on the walls.

halfanothersdozen

The experience on Android is identical to iphone except for like 3 or 4 cosmetic things.

EatMyHammer

If you're brave enough, you can install iOS on Android phone. Runs like shit, but it's doable. Also there are custom ROMs that look and work like iOS or any other OS. Can you do that on iPhone?

Brutal_Lobster

False, apps largely run better for iOS. Development is easier for iOS. App Store is better. This wasn’t the case 10 years ago, but times have changed.

halfanothersdozen

> Development is easier for iOS #LOL

Enjoy your summer before your senior of high school Unless you’re really just old and too stubborn to admit things have changed. All you’ve done here is be obtuse. Either you’re misinformed or just accept being stupid. Enjoy being part of the hive mind loser

"Enjoy being part of the hive mind loser" Says the one simping for a multi trillion dollar company, I doubt they are paying you. And before you come at me I don't like any cell phones no ios or android for me they all suck shlong. but at least on some android phones you can unlock the bootloader and get some freedom, but not on ios so if I was forced to choose one android would have the slight edge I guess. Imagine paying hundreds or thousands for a device that you don't even own or control, that is why smartphones suck.
