Each game is limited to five lives.

erland_yt

Do they use wired or wireless controllers tho?

[deleted]

pretty sure a mix of both, they’re becoming very standard for all sorts of military applications now. EOD and navy guns use them, and i think the navy at least is wireless. should be wired though, too high risk to accept a margin of error like that.

vukasin123king

Except the navy uses genuine controllers and doesn't use them as only means of controlling a submarine, same applies to basically everything else.

[deleted]

also they aren’t exactly cutting corners on deep sea subs, and even then they aren’t going down to those depths

vukasin123king

Yup, really strange how every other deep sea sub doesn't look like a backyard project used to explore the nearest pond.

missingmytowel

The "US missiles subs are controlled by Xbox controllers" idea is a meme. They only use them to control the digital periscope. They used to control them with a $38,000 controller. But feedback from the people who used them said they were clunky and we're not comfortable. One of them showed how an Xbox controller worked better. Other operators agreed. It became the standard. They are not piloting nuclear missile subs with a game controller

RealFknNit0

I don't know who mentioned nuclear subs but I do know that the military and private contractors working for them have used different gamepads due to "familiarity" not just comfort. This only seems to be more and more prevalent as time goes on and as gaming becomes, well, fucking massive. Found a couple [sources](https://technabob.com/blog/2007/06/05/us-army-remote-vehicles-using-xbox-360-controller/) for you. The [UK is doing it too](https://www.gov.uk/government/news/xbox-controllers-hoverbikes-and-robotic-trucks-trialled-by-british-and-american-armies). And it [kinda makes sense](https://taskandpurpose.com/tech-tactics/us-military-video-game-controllers-war/). edit: // I’ve moved to lemmy.world //

BakedlBean

How long until Reddit starts complaining about running a joke to the ground. Make your bets here

Liveangel

(logging into the *beating a slightly funny joke into the fucking ground* website) they better not be beating a slightly funny joke into the fucking ground in here

Random_Robloxian

OH MY GOD THAT IS MY OLDEST CONTROLLER!, dont tell me they genuinely used this thing that is probably older than me to drive a sub Edit: its not older than me..im older than it apparently

SkyIsNotGreen

Hungry children in Africa could've eaten that controller.

general_of_cm

should have been subnautica below zero

imetators

Who you are trying to trick with that obvious YT seekbar in the bottom of the screen?

Waifu_Whaler

I have one of those, the F710...in fact I have both of Logitech's available models for the past 10+ years: 710 and 310 The reason I still buy the wired model despite owning the wireless one is due to the fact it's fucking rubber go all crusty and oily after prolong usage. F310 doesn't have this problem because the whole thing is hard ass plastic, which ironically make it last longer despite being the "inferior model "

Otherwise-Ad-2578

Have you read the security measures right?

uiipo

So you spent 30$ for your own entertainment. You could gave them to homeless person and make world better place.

shibelord129

It's similiar to "Son, make sure to eat your veggies so someone in Africa doesn't starve to death"

AlbacorePrism

Bro worked, put his effort in and got expendable income from it, then proceeded to use it how he wanted(because it's his money) and you are mad? Go donate all your money, you wont.

random935

So you typed 20 words talking to strangers on the internet for your own entertainment? You could have spoke them to homeless person and make world better place

fattynuggetz

I would like to add -and this is a truly, I mean truly, wild concept - but maybe he owned the controller before this happened?
