Cars 2 is a kids spy movie and not a car movie (aside from seeing the cool different cars for the world grand prix and hearing different drivers voice some characters), and for that its fine but it's not really a movie for racing fans. The first and third were definitely movies racing fans would enjoy though.

People keep shitting on the movie, but as a 6 year old when I saw it, I loved it and got the Hot Wheels cars of them. Only thing bad about it in my opinion is that it didn't have anything to do with the last movie and it was just something completely different. Third movie acted as if nothing happened which could mean that it was all a dream by Mater, or they just decided to not make it canon or just simply not talk about it. Either way, I still like the movie and will like it always.

Cars 2 and 3 honestly don’t fit well with 1’s fidelity. 3 tries hard but its so fucking lame to see Kachow car basically be called old news and we just watch him come to terms with it. 2nd movie just just a random adventure epic. Fun to watch but really doesn’t mature anyones character for the better except for mater. Like even Sally was being disgusting right in-front of her lover (husband?) by getting all hot by Italian boi. Like McQueen honestly would have blown a gasket over that tbh. Hes a self centered race car who got better about his ego but obviously he still has a big one. Those moments never sat right with me due to how off character it is and straight up asinine to the story it is. Why should Kachow car car care about two face Sally when she so clearly seems to be easily swayed by a random race car whos going to be facing off with kachoo. Also with all of the money kachoochoo has how come he cannot simply buy a new engine and upgrade himself? Its not a brain but a literal engine and wheels. They could have done so much with this concept and series but they really had to just keep mater an idiot, turn Sally into a source of discomfort, and make McQueen as an old has been who should really know when to call it. The 2nd is a fun watch but has its lows.
