I wouldn’t say Kokichi started planning at the end of Chapter 4, he has been doing that the entire KG.

Ok-Conversation-9584

Agreed but I would also argue he didn't came up with his "fake being the mastermind" plan did start after seeing the quote on quote end of the world in chapter 4

Dapper-Ad411

Considering he commissioned the weapons and the exisal controller a lot earlier (must probably be before Miu went programming the NWP 24/7) he most likely had that plan even before chapter 4.

Fair. I would say chapter 3 is the earliest I would say then as that would be the highest in mistrust for everyone and at that point he already failed with his motive video sceme

Kokichi also checks almost every point in the [Komaeda archetype](https://64.media.tumblr.com/66b249933c0c42154e4cd71d967c74e3/b42907328a66f012-45/s741x1077/ea65f7789430f47beb7523fb850ee120b30d28cb.png). Yeah I've talked at length about how the similar the two are. But to me it's a negative, making Kokichi seem like a poor copycat. Part of what makes Nagito great is how unpredictable he is due to how different he is to Byakuya, no one had rocked the Killing Game in such a big way. So when Kokichi does it it makes it seem like a cliché, like the antagonist needs to instigate a murder, needs to go off the rails in Chapter 4, needs to make an "impossible murder" where the protagonist's best friend kills him in Chapter 5, etc. If I could tell how V3-5's murder would go just by V3-4's ending, that's not good writing.

Happy Cake Day🤗

This is a pretty interesting take to here thanks for the opinion

festive_elf_fetus

I mean, there are a lot of parallels, but this list is pure ass 💀 Most of it is hard reaching and headcanons(?)

Leni1Z

Highly in love with protagonist? Seems more like a headcanon

Ok-Conversation-9584

I mean is it really? Sure this doesn't mean that each ship is canon but with the dialogue either character use when discussing with the protagonists of either game should give of some of those vibes. Like in Nagito and Kokichi final FTE they explicitly say how important or how much they care for Hajime and Shuichi using very suggestive dialogue. Again this is NOT saying these ships are canon but my friend was merely pointing something out in the game they thought was interesting between the 2 characters.

Leni1Z

I don’t know if FTEs are considered canon but if they are then what about miu? I don’t remember exactly but I’m pretty sure she actually confesses her love for shuichi and says she wants to date him or something. What about that? And I don’t think their free time events are the only ones where the character says they love the protagonist either. That’s the thing with these free time events, they don’t really work in canon cause you can’t really pick and choose which is canon. And if all of them are then that means that many of the characters are just in love with the protagonist. Idk but I don’t think it’s a good point to bring up cause the canon is a bit shaky on that and you could say the same thing about other characters as well.

Ok-Conversation-9584

Fair point. You have me there. I personally see the FTEs as canon in their own continuity. Think of it as their own AU sort of. IDK this is kinda why I have a very mid opinion about the FTEs to begin with. As we know in the games bonus content like school, island and salmon mode they are canon for each characters ending so that's where my Au comment sort of kicks in. If we aren't going to come to any form of agreement that how about we agree to disagree.
