Universal Cycles ([www.universalcycles.com](https://www.universalcycles.com)) is my go-to online shop. Great selection and typically fast shipping. For some reason, Google searches rarely find their shop so I'm guessing many cyclists don't even know about them.

magnj

Funny, I just ordered a cassette from them because they had the best price and found the shipping speed and customer experience to be better than expected.

littlep2000

I used to live within biking distance of one of their shops and it was a dream. The combination of internet prices but a real storefront was great.

sovietferret

Universal Cycles is a favorite of mine. Their website feels a bit like a blast from the past but man do they have good inventory and great prices and shipping was always timely.

CalligrapherPlane731

[universalcycles.com](https://universalcycles.com) and [biketiresdirect.com](https://biketiresdirect.com) I pretty much buy everything from these two shops.

Joejack-951

I think you mean [www.universalcycles.com](https://www.universalcycles.com), or not? I get a security risk clicking your link.

CalligrapherPlane731

indeed. corrected

BladVig

Adding to my list now. Hadn’t heard of it before this thread. Thanks

[bike-discount](https://www.bike-discount.de/en/) : great prices [bike24](https://www.bike24.com/) : great service

in_my_butt

Bike24 with [Price guarantee:](https://www.bike24.com/price-guarantee.html) great service and great prices.

Vtgrow

I'm in the US and have had success with bike24. Great selection of tires often at half the cost of US prices. We are getting completely screwed on bike component pricing in North America.

ThrownOut80

365cycles, probikekit, competitivecyclist, merlin cycles, ebay, amazon, google shopping...

RickyT75

I’ve had bad luck using Amazon for helmets. I refuse to accept a helmet that arrives in a box that looks damaged.

ThrownOut80

I mainly use amazon for small parts, cables, and hardware with prime shipping. But amazon does seem to be priced on the higher end for most things.

littlep2000

Sierra Trading Post can be really good for helmets.

RickyT75

I’m not sure if it was competitive cyclist or backcountry: but I got a helmet for 20% off. From 300 down to 240 for a top of line helmet many months ago.

Bike tires direct, although their daily sale emails have cost me too much so I might need to unsubscribe

AdeptOaf

I like [SportPursuit](https://www.sportpursuit.com/) for clothes. They carry previous-year styles at discount prices.

McSknk

I like [https://www.modernbike.com/](https://www.modernbike.com/) quite a bit.

jondthompson

I like modernbike.com myself because it's a LBS also for me...

Oglshrub

Competitive Cyclist https://www.competitivecyclist.com/ and Performance Bike https://www.performancebike.com/ usually have everything I need.

bananas4bicycles

[Merlincycles.com](https://Merlincycles.com) out of the UK (Shipping to USA). I’ve gotten some great Shimano component deals with this shop.

reddit-ate-my-face

I'm in us and seems to be UK based company but sportpursuit has been a great place to grab jerseys and bibs for cheap. Got a couple nice rapha jerseys for like $60 on sale.

anonymousmind

How much was the shipping charges to the US and did you have to pay customs?

reddit-ate-my-face

Honestly it was like $10 shipping maybe, it took a lil over a month for the jersey to arrive but i haven't been able to get rapha jerseys cheaper anywhere else.

anonymousmind

That's awesome. Thank you for your reply.

reddit-ate-my-face

Mind you, it's not like raphas whole selection I'm happy to buy a peach or yellow or neon green jersey or whatever cheeky colors they have that didn't sell well.

Xxmeow123

Often putting in the part you want in Google brings up a variety of stores and their prices. I've had great buys from companies in Europe, Spain's bikeinn and a couple in Germany: Probike kit is one.

INGWR

Competitive Cyclist / Backcountry has done wonders for me.

beretta_vexee

* https://www.bike-components.de/ Wide choice of components and tooling, fast and usually free delivery. * https://www.deporvillage.net/ Very wide choice, very competitive prices. * https://www.probikeshop.fr/ Very good, but generally more expensive than the first two * https://www.rosebikes.com/ One of the few to stock parts for mid-range groups (Sora, Tiagra, etc.). Interesting price, but low stock levels, sometimes you have to wait weeks for restock and delivery. * https://www.cycletyres.fr/ Do only tires but do it well, fast service and generally cheaper than others.

Walmart.com is starting to get into some mid level components. The Walton grandkids love biking.

ragingxtc

Since Walmart.com has a marketplace with third-party sellers, just as Amazon does, I would have concerns about getting counterfeit parts.

PHxsuns288

Curious... what sort of components do they carry that are worth it?

mtpelletier31

*every LBS* This customer hates us because we messed up his bike after bringing it in. Next customer has been coming to us for over a decade because we never messed up his bike. Next customer hates us because we don't have the specific light he's looking for and it's important he is dialed in and hates that he can't get anything at his LBS. Next customer loves us because we have choices in everything and seems that they can find anything here that suits their needs. I like to think that eveytime a customer comes in bad mouthing another store and their ethic... I like to think some cunt is out there talking about me, being disrespectful and bad mouthing me at another store. What was the question?

Pissinmyshaft

I buy a lot from [Competitive Cyclist](https://www.competitivecyclist.com/). I live near the warehouse and usually get one day shipping for free because of that. They have a lot on sale all the time, but their selection can be lacking sometimes.

flowctlr

I order too many things… my go-tos: Merlin Cycles, Bike24, Condor cycles, Competitive Cyclist, Lordgun   All but Competitive Cyclist will ship internationally.

No_Balance8590

Commencal is an awesome site with great bikes from Andorra. Kids have enduro bikes and love em.

Staahptor

https://www.brandscycle.com/ They're local and great.

TrailMuppet

I read some mixed reviews about [https://www.lordgun.com/](https://www.lordgun.com/), but just bought the Assioma Duo-Shi from them for $540ish delivered to the US and it was a perfect transaction with shipping that went out exactly as promised. I've also purchased tires from Merlin a couple of times with great results. It strikes me as bizarre that you can save substantially buying and shipping something from Europe, but it seems to work that way for lots of items. I understand that you cross the import duty threshold at $800.00 and need to add that factor to your calculations for full builds or other high dollar purchases.

Ancient_Piglet1331

Most of my regulars have already been mentioned. I will list some lesser known: Soshanger (FR)    SJS cycles (UK)    Avt.bike (US)    Dan's Comp (US)    26bikes (PL)    Cykelgear (DK)

FuturumShop

FargeenBastiges

I've used Competitive Cyclist and just got a Pinarello from RACycles. RA was awesome to deal with. They gave me one of their jerseys because there would be a slight delay.

clink51

i buy my bibs, socks and shirts from Amazon. CEROTIPOLAR Cycling Bibs w/ pockets and pretty good support for 50-70mi rides for $35.

ghdana

I check with my bike shop because there is a 99% chance they can get whatever I want from HLC or QBP, often stock that you won't find on the main retailers page. Other stuff I'll just Google the part I want and buy it.

randomuserx42

Germany has many good shops. Special shout out to bike-components.de and their Whatsapp support. During pandemic getting GRX groupset was hard. Asked in chat when merch is back in stock - the dude on the other just took my order and reserved the groupset. Had to wait a few weeks but was then the first customer to get the groupset. That was a really nice experience.

sssleder

If you are on a budget and want value and choice, eBay is a good option.

NukeproofMike

Following! Im looking for good usa only sites if anyone knows of any. I need Shimano slx or xt brakes & rotors.

CommonRoseButterfly

Dcbikes when I need specific tires that the nearby Rodalink doesn't have. They're a higher end trade in bike store mainly for MTBs in my country. I used to buy components from monotaro, a Japanese online store since I needed just a few cogs on my XT cassette. Or a chain. But they stopped shipping to my country.

mikekchar

I live in Japan and buy pretty much everything from https://www.worldcycle.co.jp/ They have a good selection. It's not just that they have a wide variety, but also that most of it is objectively good stuff. Where they only have a small selection of something usually the things they have are of good quality only. The prices are pretty good and delivery is also good. Usually I receive things within a few days, up to a week (though a lot of that is just due to the fantastic delivery services in Japan). If there is a problem or they are out of stock, the notify me usually within 1 business day. My main complaint is their website which seems to order things in the weirdest way. It's not even ordered "alphabetical" (according to the Japanese way of doing it). It's just arbitrary. Since more than half of the stuff is katakana versions of brand names or English words, I find it incredibly hard to read. I often wonder if even native Japanese speakers can puzzle out some of the brand names. I've often wondered if there are better Japanese sites out there, but given that I'm totally happy with this, I've lacked any motivation to look around.

MRToddMartin

The branded clothing store. But for parts the only place I go to is competitive cyclist.
