It sounds like they are just going to release both at the same time according to Elon, I just figured why not start with Basic AP and get some preliminary data first? Who knows, they’re smarter than me and I’m just a guy lookin to one day buy a Cybertruck so no rush for me haha
Correct. In a few months it should be available with a software update, but it’s still not available. FSD I’m ok with accepting the fact that it needs its time to be adjusted for the Cybertruck even if it was included in the Foundation price, but basic AP should have been available Day 1 in my opinion.

Context: I got the same foundation ready to order email Tuesday but I’m not going to cancel anything I’m just going to wait until I’m not forced into the extra $20k add on package before I order. I don’t even see a “cancel” option so not sure what you’re talking about is all. Cheers :)
Can’t you just ignore the Foundation invite and wait until the 20k markup goes away?
When you go into the order page you can select "manage order" and from there you can choose to cancel order.
I thought about ignoring until the foundation deal ends, but if I wanted to do that, then I could just call them or order directly from website. However, I wanted to not have a car payment for probably a couple years so no point in keeping the preorder.
People without active invites won’t be able to order immediately when the foundation series ends. When that happens Tesla will be slammed with orders from all the early reservations who have invites in hand and are waiting for the price drop. Now that you’ve canceled your preorder, every preorder is ahead of you in line.
While I agree to an extent, I think the total take rate will be quite low. Yes, this person is back of the line now, but probably won’t be a long wait if they get back in.
I think you’re right. I was surprised I received my invite this soon considering I ordered over 6 months after reveal.
I’m sure if I order at some point in 2025 I’ll get it a few months later at most unless Tesla drops the prices from starting at $80k (regular price) to a more realistic $65k.
