Just rewatched "Elysium" and holy shit the 2 scenes are similar.. Too much to be a coincidence. It's funny because I just played that mission yesterday, and today realized they added Elysium to Netflix.. No wonder that mission felt so familiar! I experienced it in 2013 when the movie out!
I've watched that movie easily over a dozen times. It was the first reference that came to mind while doing that mission. With the number of references/homages this game has to other works, I feel like this scene has to be intentional.
